Collision Point by Lora Leigh is packed full of action, suspense, and heat. The sexy rollercoaster ride will not disappoint readers. The attraction is hard to resist between the protagonists. It's realistic. Temptation, lust, and love is evident on every page. I also felt the fear, loss, and sadness as the plot swept me up into its world. Lora Leigh is a talented writer. I never wanted the book to end...

Riordan Malone is an interesting hero. A black ops guy who is also a cowboy. He became one woman's bodyguard because he liked her. Not for the money. That made me love this man so much. He's powerful, demanding, and all alpha. Hot, sexy, and dangerous. Cross him and death will come. Riordan fell fast and hard for Amara. She's the daughter of a Russian crime lord. Amara almost died and Riordan was never the same again. Amara fills his dreams and thoughts everyday. Now, after six months, she finds him, asking him to protect her. And he does...

Amara is in danger once more. Someone has tempted to kill her several times, recently. All she remembers is Riordan. He vowed to protect her, and she feels safe with him. Amara was kidnapped and tortured almost to the point of death. Yet, here she is alive and trying to stay alive. She has no memories of of the abduction nor who or why someone wants her dead. All she knows is Riordan. Amara seeks him out for her protection against her fears. Something about Riordan has her feeling lustful and unbalanced. He makes her want things...but first, she must live long enough to survive.

Collision Point is exciting. I couldn't stop reading this novel. Lora Leigh created characters that I fell in love with...I liked them all, even her over protective father who can be a pain in the ass at times. His love for his daughter is his most likable quality. And the alpha hero, Riordan is every woman's fantasy. I loved his attitude! Overall, I highly recommend this romantic suspense to readers everywhere.

LOVED this book! Collision Point is an amazing book that shows why Lora Leigh is one of my favorite writers. This story hooks you in right from the beginning and it is impossible to put this book down till the end. The main characters Amara and Riordan are so amazing we get to see them at their worst and but we also get to see how strong their love is and how they will fight anything and anyone to find their way to each other. I don't want to give anything away because you just need to read this story for yourself and you will see what it is that makes them so special and I can't wait to read more about the other characters involved the little that we get to read of both their friends and family got me hooked and I can't wait to read more about them all!

Every time I read a LL book I am immersed in her world and story within just a few lines. Collision Point is no exception. From the beginning to the end I was enthralled with the action, intrigue, and romance. I kept trying to figure out who was the threat coming from and boy was I wrong and surprised! I was interesting reading this book to learn more about his family and the military type units. I fell in love with his grand pop and loved his wisdom and antidotes that he shared. Incredibly well developed and full of emotional ups and downs I enjoyed this story and can’t wait to learn more about this series and hopefully family.

Thank you NetGalley and St. Martin’s Paperback for the copy and chance to share my own opinions.

It was a great story with many twists and turns. Every time I thought I knew who was the bad guy I was wrong up until the end of the story. It was great with the flashbacks as well so you got to know how the characters were tied together.

Rory and Amara have unfinished history when she finds him at his granddad's ranch 6 months after she escaped her kidnappers. Amara has no memory of the year prior to her kidnapping and doesn't remember Rory being her former lover. She is flying blind, but knows she is still in danger.

Rory has been recuperating for the last 6 months getting shot 3 times and almost dying several time due to those injuries. He doesn't realize that Amara is without her memories of him until she comes to see him. He thinks they communicate through their dreams and she seems to enforce this theory several times in this book. Amara acted like a spoiled toddler at times and she grated on my last nerve several times. She wanted to be treated as an adult, but went running to daddy to tell on Rory when she thought he was being too overbearing with her security???? She also kept secrets from those who were trying to protect her for her own selfish reasons.

This book is part of a series and, since I did not read those other books, I was definitely lost several times. I had no knowledge of the other cast of characters and it was difficult to keep up with them at times. The prose used in this book didn't fit with all that was happening around it at times. I was left split between this being a romance, or a thriller. It didn't quite work for me all of the time and sometimes it got too far off base for me. I think if you read her other books in this series you will like this book more since you will be able to follow along through the whole thing.

I was happy to receive an ARC from NetGalley for my honest review.

I had assumed that ‘Collision Point’ was the first of a new series by Lora Leigh and not part of her Elite Oops series, which I didn’t exactly take to. But while I found the start somewhat intriguing, it just wasn’t a story that could hold my interest; neither was the writing style which I found choppy, repetitive and somewhat difficult to follow.

On the one hand, there’s nothing more enticing about a male protagonist who knows what he wants and goes after it. On the other hand, there is the cookie-cutter pattern emerging here, of the growling, neanderthal male who’s built only to have rough sex and protect his mate and the helpless female who seems to run and flail at that possessive edge he shows around her. I’ll admit readily that Leigh’s ‘Wild Card’ put me off such protagonists, though ‘Collision Point’ felt marginally better as it pretty much revolved around a hero bulldozing his way through everything to get his woman back.

Structurally, I did struggle with this even from the beginning, as I tried to piece together Riordan’s and Amara’s history for the first few chapters as their backstory came in dribs and drabs, interrupted by copious descriptions of erections, wetness and coitus interruptus. Admittedly, with a sensual history between them, Riordan and Amara weren’t strangers to begin with, but instead of a constant build-up or reconstruction of their past, more than half the story was concerned with sex or how aroused either protagonist was (then spending it jealous thinking of imaginary lovers the other might have had), which did get annoyingly distracting.

My rating merely reflects my inability to continue the story—‘Collision Point’ is more like romantic suspense erotica, if there’s ever such a sub-genre. Sure, the sex is hot, but, it’s not a style that I’m used to at all (this is clearly, my preference) and frankly, I was thrown off way too much, right to the point past the halfway point where I found myself too frustrated to even get down and dirty with this pairing.

I have been waiting for Rory Malone’s book since Noah’s book and again in Jordan’s book. Again, Lora doesn’t disappoint. Her suspense kept me guessing and the heat between Amara and Rory was hot hot hot. The story opens after Amara was kidnapped and Rory is saving her, with the help of his brother’s Elite Ops team, during which Rory is injured badly as is Amara. The story jumps six months to when Amara seeks him out, worried about continued threats to her life but she has amnesia for the past year, not remembering Rory but knowing he is important.

Rory comes back into Amara’s life, not as her bodyguard but as her lover, refusing to be her dirty little secret any longer, vowing to not only save her life but claim her as his own. But he must first struggle first her own amnesia and help her remember the bond they had before they could commit to each other again, all the while figuring out who in their inner circle could want both of them dead.

As with all of Lora’s books, this book had plenty of steam and heat to satisfy anyone. But it also had suspense, twists and turns and the emotional depth between the two characters that made me root for the characters and fall in the love with them. The story was unexpected and takes the world of Elite Ops in a new direction and I can’t wait for more!

Riordan Malone was Amara Resnovas former body guard and lover. He rescued her after she was kidnapped and he almost lost his life in the process.now he is back I. Her life but Amara has no memory of the last year of her life. Her life is still in danger and Riordan will do anything to protect her.

Amara was no pushover but Riordan was a bit too much of a controlling male for my taste. Amara wasn’t afraid to call him out but he tended to try to roll right over her. There was a lot of sexual tension, which I don’t mind but I could have used a bit more focus on the plot. There was suspense in the book and the author did a good job of keeping you guessing as to who the bad guys were. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy.

Another great series from Lora Leigh. I really enjoyed this first book and am looking forward to others in the series.

This book should come with a warning, "Don't starting unless you have all night". I loved this book. Lora Leigh sure knows how to write a great story that keeps you interested from beginning to the end. I could not put down until I finished the book. It kept me on the edge of my seat, I didn't know what to expect next. This book has it all, drama, suspense, romance, surprises, and steamy scenes. Collision Point is a well written story. I fell in love with the two main characters, Riordan and Amara. I can't wait to see where this series will go next! I would recommend this book.

I have so many friends who are fans of Lora Leigh, that when I ran across this book on NetGalley, I grabbed it immediately. What I didn’t take a moment to figure out is that it’s right in the middle of an ongoing series. So…..I was lost a few times. It didn’t stop me from finishing this book in a single day. It’s that well written. I actually liked the characters a lot, and had sympathy for their situation. There was a lot of back-story that I had to guess at, but it didn’t bother me much. And here I have to add a…..

WARNING!!! There is a lot of explicit sex! So, if you’re sensitive to that, this book might not be for you. As for me, I read it all. The sex scenes, while explicit, are very well done, with such an emotional punch, that there was no way I could skip.

For those of you unfamiliar with my personal star rating system, I reserve 4 and 5 star ratings for books I intend to re-read. Since this is a middle of the series book, I won’t re-read, but I enjoyed it!

Ms. Leigh is a talented story-teller. I wish I had read this series from the beginning. Romantic suspense is my favorite genre, so I pretty much ignored what I had missed in previous books and found this a satisfying read. I do believe, however, that this story will work much better for those who have read the previous books. If you’re one of those, grab your copy and…

Enjoy!

I always devour Ms. Leigh's books and really enjoy the suspense and action that can always be counted on, but to be honest, the steaminess in this book got a little monotonous for me and I was wishing for more intrigue and action from the alpha men. I would recommend the book overall and I think most readers will enjoy it.

Collision Point is a super sexy romantic suspense novel that hooks you from the first page and must be read in one sitting. Amara knows she's in danger and the only person she trusts is someone she cannot really remember. She hunts down Riordan from finding his face in her father's security files, the face that haunts her dreams and nightmares. She begs him to protect her from the menace she can feel. The soul deep bond they formed before she was abducted pulls them sensually together again as the danger builds around them. Amara's memories return slowly as the plot twists and turns to the truth of who tried to kill her and how deep the betrayal really goes. The story is very sensual without losing the plot with memorable characters. An alpha male hero and the strong willed woman, who loves him, battle their way through memory loss and danger to find their HEA. The story ends with the feeling that the danger is not over and will be continued into future installments in the series. Enthralling and engaging, the story draws the reader in to a fast-paced, sensuous journey. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

Full review to be published online in late February.

COLLISION POINT is the first book in Lora Leigh's new "Brute Force" series, a takeoff of the authors 'Elite Ops' series. The book starts almost immediately with a steamy encounter; and segues into a story filled with sizzling romance, action, and intrigue. Riordan has turned out almost as alpha as his big brother Nathan Malone, who had been the hero in the book 'Wild Card'. Riordan is overprotective and has a sexy potty mouth on him in the bedroom,; but there’s still a gentleness about him you can’t miss. His love interest Amara is the daughter of an overly protective member of the Russian mafia. She came off in the beginning as a diminutive princess mixed with some attitude. It wasn't long before she began to show her mettle as a serious heroine, however. Both characters turned out to be smart and attractive, with some rather.serious personal issues to overcome.

Although COLLISION POINT is the beginning of a new series, it was nice that Lora Leigh included some of the ouples from the 'Elite Ops' series. It was nice to revisit some favorite characters from that series.

The idea was not so bad, but the way Lora Leigh developed it is lacking due to the absence of the culprit till the last minute, in a way I felt there was no way for me to understand who was the bad guy as he came out of the blue and I was disappointed. As a love story is absolutely intense and steamy, as it usual is with this author.

THANKS NETGALLEY FOR THE PREVIEW!

Lora Leigh has done it again!!! Collision Point was a great roller coaster of a read. I was sucked in at page one and devoured this book in a day.

A big thank you to NetGalley and St Martin's Press for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I admit I am a big fan of 'Ms. Leigh. I felt off balance at the beginning like I was a book behind. She jumped right in with limited introduction. I enjoyed the book. It was different and fast paced. Very sexual but less so than usual. Well worth the read. I think most romance readers would enjoy. I rated this a 3.5.

Book one in the Brute Force series kicks off with a sizzling romance, action, and intrigue. Riordan turned out-almost as alpha as his big brother Nathan Malone/Noah Blake (H in Wild Card). He’s overprotective and has a mouth on him in the bedroom, but there’s still a gentleness about him you can’t miss. His love interest, Amara had me thinking diminutive princess in charge with some attitude..then again, she’s the daughter of a former, seriously overly protective Russian mobster. I found both characters to be smart and attractive, but they have some rather..large personal issues to overcome. The fireworks that resulted were pretty big, very hot, and definitely sweaty:)

Elite Ops members also had a decent side role! Getting to see some of the guys and catch up with them, along with Grampops..win/win! I’m hoping to see more of the guys in further installments.

I have to say, I’m really curious to see where this series will go next!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
