Book one in the Brute Force series kicks off with a sizzling romance, action, and intrigue. Riordan turned out-almost as alpha as his big brother Nathan Malone/Noah Blake (H in Wild Card). He’s overprotective and has a mouth on him in the bedroom, but there’s still a gentleness about him you can’t miss. His love interest, Amara had me thinking diminutive princess in charge with some attitude..then again, she’s the daughter of a former, seriously overly protective Russian mobster. I found both characters to be smart and attractive, but they have some rather..large personal issues to overcome. The fireworks that resulted were pretty big, very hot, and definitely sweaty:)

Elite Ops members also had a decent side role! Getting to see some of the guys and catch up with them, along with Grampops..win/win! I’m hoping to see more of the guys in further installments.

I have to say, I’m really curious to see where this series will go next!

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

OMG! This book has it all.. sex, lies, secrets, surprises, and suspense. I can always count on Ms. Leigh to write fabulous stories. Be prepared to be on the edge of your seat and need a cold shower. This is the first book in a new series with some old friends.
Amara is part Russian and is kidnapped and beaten. When she awakes in the hospital, she has lost her memories going back almost a year. Riordan. works for Brute Force Security and is Amara’s bodyguard and lover before she is taken. He is shot during her rescue and takes awhile to get back on his feet. She goes looking for Riordan because there have been some incidents involving her life being in danger. She finds her by looking in her fathers files. She is starting to remember bits and pieces but not who kidnapped her.. The danger is closer than they think and the memories are coming back faster. Can Riordan keep her safe and not lose his heart or was his heart lost the first time he seen her?

I wish I could rate this book with more stars because I think the actual story was pretty good. I can usually figure out the finish early in a book but this one kept me guessing until the end. The problem I had was with editing/proofreading in the advance reader copy. It was so bad I couldn’t follow the story at times.

This was my first Lora Leigh book not in the Breeds. I adored it! I could not put it down. I finally finished it at about 4am and still wanted more. There was a healthy dose of everything you could want in a book; ecstasy, suspense, drama, family dysfunction, romance... it will keep you wanting more. I totally did not see the person who was orchestrating everything until I was supposed to, which was a breath of fresh air. It was very well-written and you couldn't get better storytelling.

Loved Amara and Riordans story, the were extremely hot together and though Amara’s amnesia was frustrating it played well with the story. The suspense of this story was really good as I had no clue whodunnit until the culprit was revealed.

Riordan (Rory) is Amara's bodyguard and lover hired by her father. When she's kidnapped and tortured he is gravely injured in her rescue. She is so traumatized that she can't remember the incident and the months leading up to it. Now she thinks someone is trying to kill her and comes to Rory for help. He let her go once but he'll never do it again. Lots of action, suspense, and red hot romance.

A lot of suspense, but not as much seduction that I usually expect from Leigh's books. Riordan is my favorite character by far in the book.
