Another great book in this awesome series!

It was great to see Ty and Brette's relationship progress as they went through some personal growth and changes, both together and apart. The theme of trust is a strong one.

As usual, catching up with the other PEAK members is always a treat and I especially liked the sweet resolution to Ben and Kacey's relationship.

Looks like the next book will bring Pete and Jess's relationship into focus, plus Esme/Shae's "problem". Can't wait for it!

I received a complimentary copy from the publisher through NetGalley and this is my opinion.

Love these books by Susan May Warren! This one mainly focuses on PEAK member Ty and the girl that left him high and dry, Brette. Their relationship was complicated. Both wanted it but Brette didn't want him dragged into all of her issues. I did like that Brette wanted to make her own way but she took it to the extreme. Ty took it to the other extreme of meddling.

The story kept up with the other couples and their attmept to bring Ian's niece home so she can be safe. Another couple had to decide what was more important fame/fortune or family, or perhaps even work a way to have it all! There was action and I loved that Ty didn't give up even when there were obviously people who didn't belive in him.

It was a 5/5 for me. I love catching up with the characters and seeing their stories unfold.

Thank you to the publisher for the review copy of this book (via netgalley). I received this book in exchange for an honest review adnd the opinions stated above are 100% mine.

STORM FRONT is the fifth book in this ongoing adventure series Montana Rescue, which isn't limited to just Montana. This particular story is mostly set in Minnesota where the PEAK team is trying to find missing junior high and high school athletes who went missing in the tornado. Add to the fact that a PEAK team member has gone missing with the athletes. Of course they're going to get involved.

I started reading the story and discovered the Brette had had breast cancer - and I'm like Oh no. Not another breast cancer story. I just couldn't handle it. My daughter said, It's not that bad, Mom, and so I read and I related. Haven't I looked at my own scarred, ravaged body in the mirror, looking for something that says I am still me and not just a poor destroyed version of me.

Ty. Oh, I loved him from book one. He was quiet, caring, THERE, for everyone and everyone just seemed to look over him, through him and treated him as if he wasn't a valuable team member. I can relate to that too. I'm nobody. Who are you? You know? But Ty has hutches and maybe his hutches might be what saves the day--for someone. For Brette... for the missing students... for the hurting parents and spouses of the coaches... for the team who are still all fighting individual battles... He has to be the hero for someone.

Ms. Warren has been a long time favorite author of mine, I introduced my daughters to her books, I devour everything she has written. One of those authors, you know.

I am not obligated to leave a review. I am because I loved the book. All opinions are my own.

A story of unconditional love.

Ty Remington is one of the first to volunteer to head to Minnesota when the PEAK team learns their leader is missing after a tornado. Ty is surprised to find Brette Arnold, the girl who broke his heart over a year ago, in the same Minnesota town. Ty realizes that something terrible had happened to Brette, but he also knows the feelings he has for her are just as strong as they ever have been. Ty is determined to prove the PEAK team still needs him by finding their leader, and being the hero in the rescue. He is also determined to get Brette to trust him enough to open up to him with her own dark secrets. Brette has been fighting her battle alone for over a year, and she doesn't want to start depending on anyone now. Will Ty and Brette overcome their greatest fears before the next storm hits?

This is another amazing addition to the Montana Rescue series. As well as Ty and Brette's story, the secondary story follows more of Ben and Kacey's story. I have loved every book in this series, but this is probably my favorite so far. Susan May Warren is always a great read!

I hate to write this review, which is why I put it off so long, but I really didn’t connect with this book or these characters. Susan May Warren has been one of my top favorite authors for probably ten years or more now. I usually love everything she writes, but this series has been hit or miss for me.

In this installment i found that I just wasn’t invested in the characters or their current issues. There were still some funny parts and some heart warming parts, but overall I just didn’t care very much. The characters’ actions and conversations seemed a little overwrought and frantic to me. I don’t know, this one was just missing that certain spark for me to really draw me in and make my lose myself in the pages.

I would still recommend this to anyone interested in it. Susan May Warren is a great author and I will be picking up her next book. Can’t love them all I guess.

This was the very first book I have read from Susan May Warren, but it definitely won't be the last. What a story. Tornado season is in full swing, and people are getting hurt or gone missing and a fair amount of time the characters of the book have to think like detectives to try and trace the movements of those missing in order to guess where they might have been when the tornado hit so they can start digging in the right place. Character development is excellent and, although this appears to be a series, I never once felt that while I was reading this volume on its own I was put at a disadvantage or was missing something. Everything is explained and covered. Loved it from cover to cover. Highly recommended!!

I love this series! Warren has a way of putting her characters through a lot but pulling them through. I was thrilled to finally get more of Ty's story!

Ty's background is hard! He has been through a lot and is dealing with a lot of personal issues especially to do with self esteem. He is very hard on himself. I think that this book was a good reminder that sometimes the most important person to offer grace and forgiveness to is ourselves.

Brette has been through a lot too. Books where both main characters have been through a lot are a lot to take in. My heart broke for herany times and I cannot imagine the pain and difficulty in her life. I'll admit I would have appreciated a little more closure on her story toward the end but I'm hoping that comes up in the next book.

It was interesting to me how patient Ty could be at times with Brette when he had no patience for himself! But I was glad they were able to talk through some things...

As far as the adventure in this book goes I liked the new slant. I don't recall tornadoes ever being the focal point if a book except one book I read as a kid. I grew up in Kansas so I'm no stranger to tornadoes, but I've never lived through one as bad as in this book. I have however sat through countless tornado drills and watches and while I find storm chasers insane I am thankful for the work they do! If you liked the movie Twister you'll love the action in this book!

The publisher provided me a free advanced copy of this book. This review is my honest opinion.

I do love a good story centered around weather and rescues. Ty and Brette are some of my favorites out of the series so far, and I truly enjoyed their parts.

I also really enjoyed the ongoing search for this missing townsfolk and the putting together the clues to figure out where they were.

Ben and Kacey, though...what in the world. They had been my previous favorite couple, but apparently they forgot how to be adults. This spoiler is for if you haven’t read the first book yet: <spoiler> Are you SERIOUS that somehow the event of the wedding being perfect is the reason you refuse to tie the knot and raise your daughter in a two-parent household? I understand dealing with circumstances if you can’t change them, and so on, but here you have a couple who is wildly in love and having a hard time controlling their passions and Kacey is a single mom to their daughter, and in four years you can’t figure out how to get married? Epic fail. </spoiler> In the end they won me over a bit more, but I was really mad at them for a major part of the book.

Weather accuracy: terms aren’t straight. I wish a weather person could have read the book over, because “mesocyclone” was termed “tornado” in one spot (rotation does not equal a tornado in most situations. It means the conditions are favorable for a tornado.) A tornado dropping to the ground is not a “forming mesocyclone”...it’s a funnel cloud forming. It comes out of the mesocyclone, which is a large rotating storm cell. One thing that rather shocked me was that no mention of a wall cloud was ever made. As someone who grew up with two storm-spotter parents and got her own storm-spotter certificate as soon as possible, this is an essential symptom of most developing tornadoes. Also no mention of updrafts or anvils were made. Everything was blamed on two types of clouds, some radar formations, and the actual tornadoes. Furthermore, the second line of severe weather would not have taken experienced storm chasers by surprise to that extent. One rumble of thunder and their ears would be tuned to the wind directions and the height of the cloud and the possibility of further severe weather. I took my first storm watching class (sitting in the back between my parents at the age of seven) back in the days of NOAA weather reporters still giving live announcements (no Computer Bob in the mid nineties) and got my full certification before smartphones were a thing. You are NOT dependent on radar images to figure out where a tornado might happen. That’s the whole point of becoming a storm spotter. Anyway, here’s a quick and easy link to some of the terms I was expecting to see used in this storm-centered book: https://www.nssl.noaa.gov/education/svrwx101/thunderstorms/types/

Notes on content: “sanitized” swearing including gosh, jeez, gee (Seriously, these terms are really getting on my nerves more and more this year.)

Frank talk about Ben’s pal having an orgy in a hotel room and about lustful desires between adults.

Storm Front by Susan May Warren is book 5 in the Montana Rescue Series. How do these book just keep getting more exciting? With tornado season in full swing, many of the well loved characters in this book are in danger. This book particularly focuses on Ty and Brette. Brette now follows twisters and takes photographs of them. What will happen when they meet again after a very long time? This amazing book can be read as a standalone novel, but why would you want to do that, when reading them in order lets you meet all the characters and see them over time? I highly recommend this book. You won't be able to put it down. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher. These opinions are entirely my own.

A twister of a race against nature. The tension comes from a complex crowd of old and new friends and their race against mother nature. The hero is pitch-perfect and swoon-worthy, partly because he doesn't realize it. And the heroine is wounded in such rich ways that only the hero can touch. The layers from past characters add to the novel without making it hard for those who haven't read prior books to keep up.

I don’t want to give away much of the plot in this review, because I want the reader to fully experience the suspenseful, and sometimes surprising, events in this book. Susan May Warren continues this series with another action-filled, exciting story. Add a romantic duo that are going through storms in their personal lives, and you just can’t read this book fast enough to find out how everything turns out. I haven’t read every book in this series (I plan to do so), but that did not affect my enjoyment of this story. There’s an encouraging emphasis of faith throughout the book. This is a sweet, clean read with no bad language or embarrassing scenes. I have read and loved many of this author’s books, and this last one keeps to her high standard of intriguing stories.

I always look forward to reading a Susan Mae Warren book. Storm Front met my expectations and then surpassed them. It’s a romance story wrapped in a fast paced plot. Life and death hang in the balance as extreme weather events sweep through the story. The storm chasers and rescue teams join forces to locate the missing. It’s a rescue and recovery story on two levels. Sure there’s the physical part of setting things right in the wake of a devastating tornado. Rubble is bulldozed away. Electricity and water are restored. The community can rebuild. Running through this story line is the rescue and recovery of many characters, who pick themselves up from the pit, anchor themselves to solid and healthy relationships, and then adopt strategies to hope again with an optimistic outlook for the future.
We meet the female characters in real-world situations. Some are working hard to balance careers and family. Brette manages her personal battle with disease, its treatment, and finding out what the future holds. The male leads are also embroiled in captivating scenarios. Ty is sure he has disappointed his mentor and can’t shed the emotional baggage. Ben is trying to make a star-quality musical career work while simultaneously being a devoted family man. You’ll warm up to these characters and care about how their stories end.
Susan Mae Warren’s prose teems with quotable quotes. Peppered throughout her chapters are nuggets of wisdom, readers will take to heart. The ending wraps up nicely. You can’t go wrong with this book that is book five in the Montana Rescue series. I received an advanced reader’s copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I've always liked Ty's character. It was nice to see him get his story. Jess is my other favorite, so I'm glad to finally get to her in the last one. Although, she and Pete are driving me crazy. *eye roll*

In this book, Ty has to deal with his feelings of failure, past and present, feeling like he doesn't belong or contribute to the team, and has to honestly confront the 'why' behind his need to always help people.

What I love about these books is how much you can feel for the characters. They are so real and their struggles are very relatable. Those are my favorite kinds of characters. (Oh, and funny, sarcastic ones).

There's a lot of good wisdom that made me stop and think. My highlights:

"Don't let your circumstances tell you who God is. Let who God is tell you how to deal with your circumstances."

He refused to make a decision today based on a fear of tomorrow.

"Except, dread is produced by the fear of going through something alone... and I wasn't alone. God doesn't promise to keep the storm away, but he says he'll be with me through it. My faith won't protect me from the loss, but it will carry me and keep me from despair."

Wow, wow, and wow. It really struck me. I think this series is getting better as it goes. I wasn't sure I'd read anymore after book one, but I did keep going (obviously) and I am liking them more.

Kasey and Ben FINALLY work things out and get married. I was getting annoyed at them too, tbh. Seriously, guys. And ending is mean, Susan! What a ciffhanger!

This is book five in the Montana Rescue series, even though it is sort of a stand a lone book, you do miss a lot of history from this series. I have not read all of this series and have no trouble keeping up though. The author does a great job at repeating important facts from previous book to keep you informed. Now if you do not like books that lead into another one you may not like this one, However it is amazing. It does leave you wanting more, but oh now I can't wait for the next one.

This series does focus on some characters more than others, however there is always more going on than just with the main characters of this novel. You get involved in many lives throughout this series. I fell in love with the entire PEAK team, even if some do get on my nerves from time to time.

I love the suspense, mystery, drama, romance and family that Warren weaves into her novels.

This is Susan May Warren's 5th book in the Montana Rescue Series. I love these characters and enjoy reading their stories. This book focused on Ty and Brett as well as Ben and Kasey. The author uses vivid imagery in her books and I always can picture exactly what she is talking about because she goes into so much detail that the story comes to life. I always look forward to reading this series. The only thing I didn't like about this book was that the story ended in a cliffhanger that I have to wait until November to see how it turns out.

Susan May Warren is one of my favorite authors and this series is particularly excellent. I highly recommend this book. A very enjoyable read!

Susan May Warren has a winner with the Montana Rescue Series. Each novel in this series has a main plot and a significant romance subplot, setting characters up for the novel they will star in. Amazing forethought on Susie's part, which makes for such an enjoyable read.

Storm Front deals with Ty Remington and Brett Arnold, who are oh so broken. They each see their flaws so brightly, yet the other sees a hero. Storm Front is a sweet romance coupled with a few serious tornadoes and rescues that are intriguing to read about.

When the Montana Rescue Series debuted, I didn't think I'd be interested in rescue missions. But when I finally read one of the earlier books, I was enthralled with what goes on in a rescue mission, all the pieces that need to play together, and the heroes that are put together in the team. I've now gone back and read the whole series and can't wait for the next one to release (which is Wait For Me, releasing in November).

Storm Front by Susan May Warren is a marvellous Christian contemporary adventure. It is the fifth book in the Montana Rescue series but can be read as a stand-alone. However I would recommend reading the whole series as you really get to know the characters who 'feel' like old friends.
The main themes are hope and rescue. We all need to be rescued from a life of disconnection from God. "As long as we think we're enough, God can do nothing for us." If we think we can make it through life alone, we are wrong. We all need God. We may feel abandoned by God in our trials but He never leaves us. "My faith won't protect me from loss, but it will carry me." Faith is not a crutch for the weak. Faith is a lifeline for us all. "Don't let your circumstances tell you who God is." God is far bigger than any circumstances we face.
Faith tells us to trust when we cannot see. To hope when all seems hopeless. And to love like Jesus.
The novel deals with actual rescues in the wake of tornadoes. Susan May Warren has perfectly captured the atmosphere with her words. We sense the desperation and the clinging to hope to believe in a good outcome.
Hope keeps us alive. If we lose hope, life loses meaning. We must keep hoping in the dark.
Fear immobilises us. "He refused to make a decision today based on the fear of tomorrow." many of our fears for the future never materialise. Our fears from the past must be left in the past. They are gone. We cannot alter the outcome. We must not let the past dictate the future.
Love runs throughout the novel. There are different types of love but it is love that keeps us alive. God's love is the greatest of all. "We can't bargain our way to God's love... God would say, I already love you."
Cancer rears its ugly head. Cancer spreads fear. The effects of cancer have far reaching arms. The novel shows brave cancer survivors who struggle with fear and body image. We are more than body parts. We are the souls inside our bodies.
As the novel wraps up, so the ending is perfectly poised for book six. My appetite has been whetted and I cannot wait for more from Susan May Warren in this fabulous Montana Rescue series.
I received this book for free from Net Galley. A favourable review was not required and all views expressed are my own.

Tons of action in the fifth book of the Montana Rescue Series!

Ty continues to be grounded and serve more as a generalist for the PEAK team. Brette is a photographer with storm chasers. She is struggling with her health prognosis and to pay her medical bills. Both find themselves in a Minnesota town devastated by a tornado. The clock is ticking on finding survivors alive. Ty does a great job of taking clues to lead him closer to where the survivors could be.

Storm Front also focuses on Ben and Kacey that were the main characters in the first book of the series. Ben's country star musician schedule is creating difficulties for both of them.

The ending sets up readers for what's to come in the next book in the series. Will Pete and Jess finally get their HEA?

Susan May Warren returns to the Montana Rescue Series. I've read the previous 4 books in the series and was really looking forward to Storm Front; however it was my least favorite of them all. Storm Front in an entertaining and quick read, but lacks the depth to really learn and grow with the characters. We also got to catch up with characters from the first book and it seemed like since that book ended so did their story and they were brought back just to fill up the pages of this book.

This series gets better and better with each book. It was interesting to see what storm chasers do and then what can happen after the devastation of a tornado. I love all the characters in Peak and how they are all coming back in each book. This is definitely a series that you want to read in order to enjoy each story to the best. I received this book from Revell for a fair and honest opinion that I gave of my own free will.
