A wonderful story to be sure!!
Dylan sure does know how to draw you into her stories! I was definitely pleased with this one!
Wonderful plot that was well done with Cooper and Sophie whom were thrown together. I thought they made a great team even though they were forced together.
I enjoyed Sophie! She's an awesome prosecutor! She was bound And determined to do her job the best she knew how. Thing is there's a twist in what she does.
And I most assuredly loved Cooper. I felt that he was the best in the business.
I loved that unbeknownst to these two God had a plan that was much bigger than either of them knew! Our God is an awesome God!
This what I love about Dylan's books.
Another thing I love is that her books are full of mystery and non stop action!
Dylan can for sure keep my interest until the story is finished.
I ended up having a book hangover with this one! I was tired at work the next day but hey it's was worth it!!
I really recommend that you pick this one up! You'll be glad you did!
My thanks to Netgalley. NO compensations were received and all opinions are my own.

If you ever need a security guard, then Cooper is your guy. Trust me, you'll feel the same way before you even get to the end of this story! I don't know how Dylan thought of Cooper and his friends, but they sure are loveable. It seemed destined that he and Sophie would come together in this book, and I think they suit each other perfectly.

Sophie is such a strong woman, and a great role model for many. At time, she let her stubbornness take over a little too much, but thankfully Cooper was there to pick up the pieces. Working in a bank myself, I found this storyline very interesting. And while there is a good bit of lawyer talk, and court discussions, not once do you feel like you don't know what's going on. Dylan takes her knowledge of the court system and brings it to the readers level in a way that is still suspenseful and true to life, but easy for a reader to follow. She must be a force to reckon with in the courtroom!!

Dylan as a way to bring action and suspense into these storylines that are so intense, and yet seem so realistic in their unusual storylines. I mean who would think that there would be anything to worry in a case about a banker cheating some customers? I sure wouldn't. But Dylan brings it to life and makes it believable. It just amazes me.

This is such a fantastic series that I do not want to see end any time soon. But if it does, that just means there's something else out there Dylan's working on and I look forward to that!! I received a complimentary copy of this book. I was not required to write a favorable review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is an exciting story of legal drama and suspense.
Sophie is the perfect heroine.
Brave, courageous, determined.
I loved her from the first page.
Now she's going up against a big name gang leader. She's the lone witness in a double homicide, and this gang member has her in his sights....
Lots of action, suspense, and drama...if you enjoy legal drama you won't want to miss it!

It seems like everything is riding on her...

I was introduced to Rachel Dylan's fiction through some of her Love Inspired Suspense titles, and I really liked them, so I was pretty excited when I discovered her full-length books, and then this series. Wow, if you like fast-paced, edge-of-your-seat legal fiction slash romantic suspense, the Atlanta Justice series is just for you!

I think my favorite thing about this series, and Lone Witness in particular, in addition to the romantic suspense part, is the insider view readers get of the legal system and its processes. I know this is fiction but I love the sense of realism that the author's actual profession lends to each of her stories. Plus, unlike so many books or movies, that realism extends to our heroine having to deal with the times when she is successful and the others when she isn't so much.

I'll tell you, if you kind of get tired of perfect characters whose greatest difficulty seems to be what flavor of coffee they want to order, you really should check out Lone Witness. Both Sophie and Cooper are flawed, a bit damaged, and because of that are completely relatable to readers.

Rachel Dylan has a real winner in this book, and series. I really enjoyed every twist and turn, and, boy, was I in for some surprises!

I really enjoyed this book! It's a really interesting take on your traditional mystery/thriller. The story is very unique and the characters are witty and there struggles very real.

This is book 2 in the Atlanta Justice series, it is a stand alone book. You will miss some history in some of the sub characters, plus a good read, but you will have no problem keeping up with the story if you jump right into this one.

Rachel Dylan has a great writing style. This book is full of mystery, suspense, action, friendship and of course romance.

Prosecutor Sophie Dawson is a beautiful, hardworking, determined woman with a heart of gold. Even though she does not have to work, she loves seeing justice served and the job she has. When she is in need of protection Cooper Knight is the man for the job.

Cooper is a handsome, former police officer who now has his own private security company.

I love the sparks between Cooper and Sophie, the suspense and mystery as well. I look forward to the next book in this series and love the fact you keep up with past characters.

Sophie Dawson is a prosecutor in the White Collar Crime Unit, working on financial fraud cases. It should be less dangerous than criminal prosecutions, and it is … until she witnesses a robbery that leaves two people dead, and identifies the perpetrator as the brother of one of the city’s gang leaders. And she’s the lone witness.

I really enjoyed Deadly Proof, the first book in Rachel Dylan’s Atlanta Justice series.
But I didn’t enjoy Lone Witness as much. I enjoyed the legal aspect from Sophie’s viewpoint, but did find the number of point of view characters distracting as it wasn’t obvious why I was seeing their side of the story.

And I wasn’t altogether convinced by the romance subplot—it all felt a little too contrived, rather than reading like a natural development. It wasn’t bad. It just wasn’t the standard I’d expected after reading Deadly Proof. I think that was partly the fault of the dialogue, which seemed a little too formal, too wooden, for characters who were supposed to be falling in love.

The legal thriller/suspense element to Lone Witness was well done.
The suspense is enhanced as the reader soon understands what Sophie and Cooper don’t know: that Sophie had two separate sets of enemies … and that the attacks on her life weren’t coming from where she and Cooper thought. There was a neat twist at the end of the story that I didn’t see coming, so that was well done.

I also enjoyed the legal aspects, which showcased the author’s own legal experience in Grisham-worthy courtroom scenes. Overall, I’m sure legal suspense fans will enjoy Lone Witness.

The Atlanta Justice Series is back and this book will have you up all night eagerly finishing it. Sophie is out to do good in the world. It was an instant fictional friendship for me with her, and I was right away wanting to solve this suspense mystery with her. Thank goodness for the hunk Cooper to help keep us safe from danger. He is one keen mind and sense of danger that keeps us all one the hunt.

I love that they worked so hard to not fall in love, but what the heart and God wants let no one be stubborn enough to stop. It was a fast paced, legal action novel that should truly become a movie. It runs in your mind from scene to scene and action to action.

I have had the pleasure of reviewing several of Rachel Dylan’s novels and enjoyed each of them. I love the fact that she brings her experience as a lawyer into play in her riveting legal suspense novels which adds an extra layer of realism to them. In my opinion, each of her novels improves on the last one and Lone Witness serves to prove it.

When Sophie Dawson is the only witness to a double murder, she is determined to continue working on an important case but it soon becomes apparent that someone wants her dead. This action-filled, suspenseful tale takes her and Cooper Knight, the security guard hired by Sophie’s father, down a dangerously twisting path filled with surprises and multiple attempts on their lives. More than once, I was certain that I knew the answers only to be proved wrong once again. Strong yet normal characters are portrayed in a way that made me want to get to know them. I love how the author deftly weaves a strong yet unobtrusive message of faith into her narrative.

Definitely a page-turner, Lone Witness held me in its grip until its very last page but I hated to reach the end. I eagerly anticipate the next book in this great series.

This is the second book in the Atlanta Justice series, and I believe it was even better than the first. By that I mean more complexity and plot twists, and definitely some surprises! Good, clean romantic legal suspense.

In Lone Witness, prosecutor Sophie Dawson is the only eyewitness to a double homicide which occurs when she is in the midst of a corporate fraud case. All of a sudden, Sophie’s customary threatening letters escalate to a drive-by shooting and intentional car accident, putting her life in danger.

Former Atlanta police office Cooper Knight is hired by her father as Sophie’s bodyguard. Can he protect her as Sophie tries to find the truth in both cases? Who is behind the threats – the murder suspect who is also the brother of the gang leader, or the high-level executive trying to protect the company whose employee accused of fraud? Who will go to any length to prevent the truth from coming out?

Dylan returns with another legal thriller that will have the reader on an exhilarating ride as the plot twists and turns. Lone Witness has solid but realistic faith element, clean romance, and a gripping storyline will keep the reader guessing until the final plot twist. The relationship builds naturally between Sophie and Cooper, as the two cases Sophie is working on, finally go to trial.
Readers will get an inside view of the legal profession, as characters from her first book return as secondary characters in this novel. Dylan creates strong characters who are willing to fight for justice, regardless of the cost to themselves. Her third book, Breach of Trust, will be available in 2019.

Sophie Dawson is one tough cookie! Despite her perilous position as the sole witness of a gang-related double homicide, Sophie continues to work tenaciously on building her other assigned case in the white collar division.

Cooper Knight is fully committed to his current task of keeping Sophie safe in every possible way, including protecting her heart from the growing attraction between them. Cooper has plans for his life and romantic relationships are not included.

Courage is not the absence of fear but the power to act in the presence of fear… in my opinion, Sophie and Cooper are truly courageous! I highly recommend this engaging series and eagerly anticipate the release of book three!

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a review. The opinions expressed are my own.

Lone Witness by Rachel Dylan, is book 2 in the Atlanta Justice Series. This legal thriller is full of multiple plot lines to keep the reader engaged and guessing about which danger is going to be faced next. Sophie Dawson has been promoted to a senior assistant district attorney in the White Collar Crimes Unit of Fulton County. She is busy working on her first case in her new division, a local bank employee is accused of cheating customers, and she is determined to get justice for those people who lost their savings. Working late, she decides that she has to stop to get some snacks for her drive home, so she stops at a familiar convenience store. She is a witness to a double homicide and she is the only person that can make a positive ID on the person who committed the crime.

Sophie is now in great danger because she is the lone witness that can identify the killer. Sophie’s father is concerned about her safety and hires a bodyguard, Cooper Knight, a co-owner for a private security firm and someone who Sophie has met in the past. At first Cooper keeps a very low profile, but as the danger rises for Sophie, he must make his presence known and some hard decisions need to be made about how to handle her day-to-day activities and even where she is going to have to live for an extended period of time in order to stay safe and sound.

As new threats on Sophie’s life come to light, it is no longer clear who is involved and the security firm has to consider if her role as a witness, or her job as a senior assistant DA is the ultimate danger. The character development for the main characters, as well as the secondary characters is fascinating. The reader gets an in-depth view into the different roles in the legal world and what it takes to play the politics and the dangers of decisions on how a case is going to play out. Lone Witness is a legal thriller that will keep you reading, and constantly re-thinking who is behind the various plot lines and who can be trusted. A great read!

Lone Witness
Atlanta Justice #2
By Rachel Dylan

Working as a prosecutor for the Fulton County District Attorney's office is Sophie Dawson's passion. She is determined to get justice for those who need it. And her current case seems relatively straightforward - a local bank employee has been cheating his customers and pocketing the extras into his own pocket. The bank's CEO wants a quick settlement to cap any unwanted negative PR but Sophie wants to work through her case before she agrees to a pretrial settlement/plea bargain.

When Sophie is the lone witness to a brutal double homicide she's just found herself in a whole new world, so to speak. She's on the other side of the table as a witness to the prosecution. Worse the person she identified as the killer is the younger brother to the head of Atlanta's biggest gang. So not only is she the key witness she is now target number one to a man not known for his warm cuddly side.

Determined to keep his only daughter safe Randall Dawson hires Cooper Knight of K&R Security to keep Sophie safe. But as the danger to Sophie increases Cooper has to use all of his skills as well as those of his partners to keep her alive. And he needs to keep his emotions in check because for some reason Sophie manages to get past the wall he's erected around his heart - one due to his own pain-filled past.

I liked Lone Witness, which is the second book in the Atlanta Justice series, especially as it got into the book just a touch. Having not read the first book I had no problem getting this one as it appears that a different pair of characters takes center stage in Deadly Proof. While Sophie and Cooper are the main characters we are also introduced to several other characters who play key roles. There is Ashley Murphy a defense lawyer who seems to have no qualms about representing the worst of the worst as long as they have the money. Patrick Hunt a Deputy Chief ADA from Dekalb County is called in to prosecute to avoid any conflict of interest charges. Then there is Whitney Bowman CEO of SIB whose bank has come under Sophie's scrutiny in her investigation. And finally Juan Wade the protective big brother who is willing to do whatever it takes to keep his brother out of prison. The various interactions between these and other key characters keeps the reader in suspense as to the outcome of both cases and the longevity of various persons.

This book deals with the legal system but won't bog the reader down in a lot of confusing legalese jargon. There a definite suspense element and a few unexpected surprises that will keep the reader turning the pages. Those who like an element of romance in their reading there is definitely romance to keep you happy. Overall the book is a well-blended work that an enjoyable escape from the summer extremes.

Oh. My. Gravy. Talk about a page turner. I LOVE this series. The story lines, the characters, the twists and turns. The author has a wonderful way of creating such intriguing story lines. Just when you think it is figured out, down another path you go..... Well written characters, page turning storyline, edge of your seat suspense. You will NOT be dissapointed.

I really enjoyed this book. I waited to read it and I'm kind of sorry I waited so long!! It was wholesome and had Christian themes to it - which I loved. This author kind of reminded me of Diann Mills and I love her books. It had a lot of suspense to it and kept you on the edge of your seat. The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that I kind of knew early on what was going on and therefore it wasn't really a secret. Otherwise, I think those people who read Terri Blackstock, Diann Mills would love Rachel Dylan!!

Lone Witness is the second story in Rachel Dylan's Atlanta Justice series and was just as exciting and action packed as its predecessor. Sophie Dawson witnesses a double homicide tied to one of Atlanta's largest gangs and finds her life is in danger as she pursues justice. Rachel Dylan's writing drew me in from the start and I never saw the final twist coming! I would recommend Dylan's books for fans of legal thrillers.
