Now you See Her is a thought provoking and suspenseful psychological thriller which will have you wanting to turn the book’s pages!

Charlotte was looking after her friend, Harriet’s daughter, Alice. Alice then goes missing whilst Harriet is looking at her phone!

As the story unfolds, various elements of each woman’s life unravels. The book has a dual narrative with each woman’s perspective shared.

The twists are welcomed and well timed ensuring the book doesn’t lose pace. In a saturated genre, this book does well to stand out and I would recommend it to any fan of psychological thrillers.

Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC.

The day of the school fete,
The children just can't wait!
A mother's worst fears
When one of them disappears....

Looking after Alice, her friend's daughter,
Charlotte lost sight of her - she didn't ought to!
When she can't find her, the police are called out
They can't find her, either, no matter how they shout.

A psychological suspense with so many surprises,
With twists and turns no one initially realises.
A story of friendships put to the test
And mothers endeavouring to do their best.

For my complementary copy, I say thank you,
As I share with you this, my honest review.

Now You See Her had me gripped from the off, it's a gritty, nerve-wracking thriller that I could not put down, I was hooked.

When Harriet asked her best friend Charlotte to look after her daughter for the first time, Charlotte is more than happy to help, she's also shocked at the request as Harriet has never left her daughter with anyone, ever! Charlotte takes the children out for the day when disaster strikes, Alice disappears and Charlotte is being branded a bad mother.

Harriet and her husband, Brian, are in turmoil over their missing daughter, and as Harriet starts to fall apart, we see things that may not have been clear to the world before.

Told in now and then chapters which detail the events leading up to Alice's disappearance, Now You See Her takes us on a journey through friendship, secrets, and heartbreak and delves into the effects of the most horrible situation you can imagine.

As the build up to Alice's disappearance is revealed, there are some bloody brilliant twists that will leave you breathless. Secrets and lies are unravelled and nothing you think you know is real, it's bloody fantastic!

Slick and intelligent, Perks has created a world which will make you question everything, which will make you squeal with shock, and which will have you on the edge of your seat throughout!

Perks is a wonderful writer, and her characters are real and believable. They could be the people living next door to you. Her plot is plausible and presented in a way that will have you glued to the pages. And I mean completely, utterly, gripped. You won't be able to put it, your life will be on hold, and you will have to put EVERYTHING on hold until it's finished.

Now You See Her is bloody fantastic and is one you MUST buy – NOW!!!!

I've heard good things about Heidi Perks and I've wanted to read Now You See Her for a while, so I was pleased when it was added to our book club list. On the face of it, it's a novel that seems right up my street: there's a terrible crime, two unreliable narrators and lots of questions to answer.

For the most part, Now You See Her is a psychological thriller that does these elements well. With the story alternating between Harriet and Charlotte's accounts, it is difficult to know which one is true and what really happened. I was keen to keep reading to answer the questions I had.

As the novel goes on, we gain more insight into the lives of the two women. I felt that the author developed the characters well, slowly revealing important details to us. Some of the characters gave me a really visceral reaction, and I must credit the author for this!

The ending of Now You See Her is particularly tense and I was interested to see how everything would work out. At times, I felt that I did have to suspend my disbelief and this meant it didn't have the impact I expected.

Very good psychological thriller. really enjoyed reading it! There's a lot of intrigue and you're hooked to know what happened and how it will all come to a conclusion.

Intriguing and unputdownable, this is a psychological suspense thriller. I haven't read anything by this author before and was certainly impressed. It's one of those 'I didn't see that coming' sort of thrillers.

A thriller where a child goes suddenly and inexplicably missing is always emotionally charged, but this tests a friendship, parental love and a mother's unbreakable devotion to her child.

Extremely well crafted and written, it had me matchsticking my eyes late at night and vowing to read more by this talented author.

Whilst fully deserving of five stars, I just can't bring myself to part with them all. I'm keeping one behind because the standard of the writing was completely let down by the shoddy editing.

Now you see her by Heidi Parks.
Charlotte is looking after her best friend’s daughter the day she disappears. She thought the little girl was playing with her own children. She swears she only took her eyes off them for a second.
Brilliant read. Tense and chilling. Couldn't put it down. 5*.

4 star. This is a good little thriller that kept me turning the pages until I got to the end. Harriet has a difficult marriage but no one knows. Her best friend Charlotte looks after her daughter Alice one day and disappears. Everyone thinks that Charlotte is a bad mother and Harriet can't bear to look at her friend. Charlotte and what’s worse, social media, blames her. But where is Alice? Who took her? And will anyone realise what Harriet's husband is really like! This was a good read.

"Charlotte is looking after her best friend’s daughter the day she disappears. She thought the little girl was playing with her own children. She swears she only took her eyes off them for a second.
Now, Charlotte must do the unthinkable, tell her best friend Harriet that her only child is missing. The child she was meant to be watching.
Devastated, Harriet can no longer bear to see Charlotte. No one could expect her to trust her friend again."

This book follows the story of Charlotte, a mother looking after her friend Harriet's daughter, who then disappears and she is blamed. Right from the beginning there is the hint that this is not a simple child taken abduction, and during the book we unravel the layers of each of their lives and what actually goes on behind closed doors in seemingly close knit friendships and communities.

At times, a difficult subject matter to deal with, and there were some uncomfortable moments in the book, but I enjoyed it and liked the dynamic of not knowing right until the end what actually transpired on that fateful day.

My second book by Heidi Perks, and will definitely read more by this Author.

I really enjoyed this book, it had a few big surprises that I really didn't see coming, it only lost a star because one of the main characters was a bit wet and annoying sometimes. But the story was good, and I liked that it was set on Dorset, made a change from the usual places.

Very good book. Enjoyed this all the way through. Have to admit I was way off with the plot. I fully expected it to be Brian who had arranged the kidnap to set Harriett up and get her away from Alice. What was done was cruel for Charlotte and was hoping she would be able to find some peace in the end, but don’t think she got it. Absolutely worth a read and would recommend

A gripping book. The feelings of dread are familiar to any parent, and this tightly plotted thriller kept me awake until the early hours finishing it.

Charlotte and Harriet have a strong link as we watch their stories unfold. Why does Harriet fake her daughter’s kidnapping. Her husband is a controlling and violent man and yet Charlotte does not see him that way.
This is a story of manipulation, violence and trying to make the right decisions under pressure. Who is right Charlotte or Harriet, you will have to decide for yourself. I enjoyed this book and will look for more titles by Heidi Perks
