Harriet is new to the area and only has one real friend in Charlotte. Harriet is seen as an overprotective mother to her daughter Alice and after some convincing, she finally agrees to allow Charlotte to look after her for a day whilst she attends a training course. Charlotte takes Alice and her three children to the school fete where very quickly, Alice goes missing. The newspapers and social media start pointing the finger of blame with Charlotte for not keeping a closer eye on the young child and Harriet cannot bring herself to talk to Charlotte. As the days stretch out, the truth about Harriets' life starts to become apparent and the twists and turns in the story will keep you guessing until the end.
Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this advance copy - thoroughly enjoyed it and will be looking for other books by Heidi Perks

While this book deals with some very important issues, it just didn't grab me as much as I'd hoped. The twist is a good one, and I admit it got me - I wasn't expecting it to play out the way it did - and the characters are interesting and well thought out.
The dynamic between Brian and Harriet is portrayed brilliantly, disturbing as it is, and it raises important questions - how well do we know what goes on in the private lives of others? how much can we trust our partner, and ourselves? how far are we willing to go to protect our family? I cheered for Harriet in the end, though Charlotte irritated me beyond belief - a selfish, annoying character. But she was realistic, too, showing the author's skill at creating a believable, engaging cast.

Heart stopping as we have all had the moment when you think you've lost your child in a crowd - as the book unfolded became clear that it was intentional and you then wanted a happy ending.

Every parents nightmare is their child going missing - imagine if you were looking after someone else’s child and they went missing...! This is what happened to poor Charlotte when she was trusted with her best friends daughter. But all is not as it seems - who took Alice and why? Is Charlotte’s friendship with Alice’s mum as innocent as Charlotte thinks? This is not just a story about a missing child, it has so much more to it - family, friendship, marriage and a maternal instinct to protect a child. With so many twists and turns in this book, it keeps you guessing from the beginning. A very well written story with characters that are so believable they draw you in and you feel their pain. A must read for anyone who likes a good psychological thriller.

This is the first book of Heidi Perks I have read, I was given the chance to read this book by the publisher for an honest review.
The story is told from two sides Charlotte and Harriet. Charlotte is looking after Harriet's daughter Alice at the school fete when Alice disappears. The story is set two weeks after the disappearance whilst Charlotte is being interviewed by the police but then goes back to when Alice disappears. It is cleverly down slowly building up with a few twists along the way. I found this book hard to put down as I couldn't wait to find out who took Alice.
I would highly recommend this book for fans of psychological thrillers. Definitely an author I will be looking out for in the future.

Thank you to netgalley and the publishers for this arc in exchange for my honest review.
Charlotte and Harriet are odd friends, Charlotte is popular and coping with three children after splitting from her husband. Harriet is a mousy mother to Alice her precious only child and wife to Brian. Harriet leaves Alice with Charlotte when she attends a course and the unthinkable happens, Alice has gone missing.
How to give feedback on this without spoilers is hard but this is a tense, well written book. Reminiscent of BA Paris and Claire Macintosh and should rightly be held up with those names. Definite recommendation for my book club on release.

Wow!! What a read this was. So easy to empathise with both the [main] women in this book. Not only is this the first time Harriet has let her best friend Charlotte look after her daughter Alice, it’s also the first time she’s EVER left her with anyone! So when Alice goes missing on her watch, how can Charlotte face her friend? Can Harriet forgive Charlotte? Can Charlotte forgive herself? Where has Alice gone? These and many more questions are answered in this fab’ twisty thriller that keeps you guessing. Recommended.

I couldn't put this book down! So much so that I stayed awake at 3.30am this morning so that I could finish it. The book's plot centres around Charlotte and Harriet. Charlotte is looking after Harriet's 4 year old daughter, the first time she has been away from her mother. Charlotte takes Alice and her own children to the school fête, but Alice goes missing on one of the inflatables. This is set in a scenario familiar to so many parents, and the concept of the book meant I put off reading it, as I was worried what I would feel (as a mum). The book doesn't play on this aspect too much though, instead it concentrates on drawing you in to the lives of the characters, and drip feeding more and more information, plus a few red herrings. There are so many potential outcomes to a missing child story so the eventual resolution wasn't predictable. The book was so good that I've been thinking about it all day, and recommending it to anyone that will listen!

This is a really good story. It is told from two perspectives. Harriet and Charlotte tell their sides of the story. Harriet's daughter Alice disappears when Charlotte is looking after her. I thought the story was really well put together and that the characters were believable. I got totally caught up in their lives and what had happened to Alice. I would definitely recommend this book.

An enthralling and intriguing thriller. Had me hooked from page one! A complete turnaround in the plot halfway. A great read

Charlotte is a popular Mum and Harriet not so, they surprisingly form a close friendship which is devastated when Harriet allows Charlotte to look after her daughter - the first time ever she has been away from her mother. Charlotte takes Alice along with her own children to the school fete and whilst the children are playing she is distracted for a moment, when she looks back Alice has disappeared.
Harriet begins to fall apart her husband Brian is oppressively protective and Harriet becomes increasingly withdrawn. She won’t speak to Charlotte who is shunned by her friends and held responsible in the press.
As events continue to unfold all is not as it seems. This is fast paced and compulsive reading with more than one twist to keep you guessing.. it’s well written and believable - give it a go if you like psychological thrillers, you won’t be disappointed.

There are a few books that I have read recently that have a similar subject matter, but this book really stands above them. It is well plotted, and the characterisation is superb. Charlotte may look like a pampered yummy mummy, but she is so much more than this and is devastated when her friends child goes missing while in her care. Harriet may look like a dowdy housewife, and she has plenty of secrets that are slowly revealed as the book progresses.
It is a quick read, but don't let that fool you. There are some fabulous twists that made me re-examine what I had read previously and no-one can be trusted. There is some social commentary woven throughout the book (the power of social media for example), but never at the expense of the story.
Thanks go to the publishers and net galley for the advanced copy in return for an honest review.

A little girl goes missing during a fete while being looked after by her mother's best friend. Taking your eyes for a child for even one second can prove to be fatal. The little girl has never been left with anyone before which makes the story even more emotional. The journey this book takes after the two friends are questioned by the police is intriging. It is a gripping psychological great piece of work that keeps you riveted until the final page. I really do not want to give anything away but would highly recommend this book.

Good premise for this book. An absolute worst nightmare for any parent. Good amount of suspense, would recommend

Hated the ending of this story. Would have been better if Charlotte had saved Harriett.

Very thrilling tale that left me perturbed by the ending. Would have liked another resolution to the story.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read 'Now You see Her'. This book was an easy read and I was led along by the plot for a while. However, once the plot was revealed, I felt that there were too many unconvincing aspects to the story and it just got more unbelievable as it went on.

I really enjoyed this book. It’s well written, engaging and I loved the unexpected twist. I’d definitely read more from this author.

A story of the “worm” turning and the devastating and far reaching consequences. I felt angry for Charlotte and annoyed at Harriet who to me achieved her own salvation at a high cost to others perhaps this was not what the author intended!
I found the storyline plausible but thought the abduction a little “rushed”

There is a lot of Psychological thrillers about missing children at the moment but, wow this is stands out from the rest.
Charlotte is Harriet’s best friend and only friend. She lives with her Husband Brian and daughter Alice. Charlotte is divorced and has 3 children of her own. It’s the day of the summer fete and Charlotte offers Harriet to take Alice to the fete. As Harriet is going on a book keeping course. But, Brian doesn’t know this as she would stop her from going.
It’s the day of the fete, and Charlotte is at the fair with the 4 children. When they come to the Jungle inflatable when Charlotte kids return but, Alice seems to have vanished. The police and Charlotte’s friends blame her for the disappearance saying that she wasn’t watching her. Even to go as far as her friends putting things on social media about her. Charlotte feels guilty.
You know when you get a book and you know from the very first page that this book is going to be good. Well, this is one of them. I couldn’t put this down. I thought this expertly written and very well planned out. I could feel the tension between Harriet and her husband Brian. The way the author described is him manipulating her and trying to convince her that she was losing her mind. They are a lot of twists and turns in this book and would say that this is not the usual child missing scenario. You will just have to read it to find out.
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for a copy of this book.
