Thank you Getred PR, Negalley, and Amazon Publishing for the free copy of this book, in exchange of an honest review. All opinions are my own.

Let me just say, I have a 14 year old daughter, and for that reason alone, Zoe's mistake terrifies me. I can only hope that my daughter makes smart choices, and realizes that once it's on the internet, it NEVER goes away!

I enjoyed this book, I liked that it showed the lengths a mom will go to protect her kids. Even if your kid does something you view as entirely stupid, your need to protect them is over-whelming sometimes. I found this book to be well paced, and enjoyable to read. It flowed nicely, and I found myself anticipating the ending, at first it was to see who started the public scandal, and then because I wanted to see why, and after finding out all of that, I needed to see the outcome, what happened to everyone involved? Kids and parents.

The only negative I do have to say, and this is just a personal choice for me. I am not a fan of words like "Nosh" i.e. teen slang, when it's being used by an adult. Just a pet peeve, please do not let that detract from wanting to read this book.

Overall, I enjoyed this book, it was fast paced, enjoyable, while not being super heavy, or intense. It was based on a  problem that a lot of teenagers go through, because of poor choices they make, and I felt that Weinstein did a fantastic job capturing that.

From the very first this book grabbed me. This could be about someone in my family or my nextdoor neighbor. My heart hurt with this story but at times I couldn’t help but smile. I don’t want to talk about the story, I think it’s one that you need to read it to understand it. I won’t forget about this book for a long time. It’s about a mother, father and two daughters. They live in Miami and an article is written about them dubbing them as “the first family of Miami”. The fathers parents left him a beautiful hotel to run. The daughters are 14 turning 15 as the story opens. They have grown up in the opulence of this hotel. It almost defines who they are. The staff is like family to them. The mother, Emma is very strong and what holds her family together. But she, too,has a secret. Every mother should read this book and so should every teenager. Thank you to NetGalley and Lake Union for allowing me to read an advance copy for my honest review. I will definitely recommend this book to family and friends. I have a new favorite author to add to my list.

This is a story about getting on the wrong side of social media. Imagine a very private moment being broadcast and shared on social media. Imagine that you are a mother of a teenage daughter whose sexual experimentation has been caught on video and is being shared. Imagine witnessing your daughter's pain and being helpless.
I loved the premise of this book. I loved the beginning of the book too. But at a time I got tired of the emotions of the family especially because nothing else seemed to be happening. The middle was all about Emma's (the mother) secret. The pacing of the story was off. The story did not pick up again until the last part when the individual who did the taping is finally uncovered. Great beginning and ending but the middle did not work for me. And I did not care about any of the characters or what was happening to them.
Maybe it was my frame of mind when I read this book that has me giving it a 3 because other people seemed to love reading this.

A perfect family and one mistake - is it enough to tear this family apart? Emma and Bobby Ross own and live in a boutique hotel in Miami Beach with their 15 year old twin daughters, Zoe and Lily. Emma and Bobby are still totally in love and the girls are perfect students and teenagers. Their life appears to be absolutely wonderful. Until....on the night of the twins birthday party, a video shows up on everyone's phones with a major indiscretion by one of the twins and the havoc that this video causes unearths family secrets and resentments. As the parents try to fix the problem, they find that they have more problems than they realized.

This novel is a well written novel that reflects life in today's world for teenagers. As they get more involved in their electronics, they don't stop to realize that what is posted remains there forever - there are no cover-ups or do-overs. Even though I didn't always like Emma and Bobby, I did like the way parenting was one of the most important part of their lives. I also really liked the relationship between Zoe and Lily. This novel needs to be read by anyone who has a teenager.

Thanks to the publisher for a copy of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own.

Somebody’s Daughter was a realistic story about the dangers of social media, the misuse and abuse of iPhones, and the fallout of teenage mistakes and regrets.
This type of story should be read and discussed not only in classrooms but in households as well. Unfortunately, not all stories will have a happy ending, but as highlighted in this story, open communication is a starting point.
Highly recommended!

I was really looking forward to reading this book after seeing all the 5 star Reviews. The story line about social media and its impact on lives sounded interesting. It started out great but seemed to drag about a third through the book. I found myself not really caring about the obviously wealthy characters.

Rochelle Weinstein has written an very relevant story in this day and age of technology and social media. Somebody's Daughter is a book I would recommend parents of teenagers read!

WOW!! This book was really great!! I could not put this book down especially since I have a fifteen year old daughter and can relate on so many levels. This book hit the nail on the head regarding how big of role social media plays in their lives and the fact that teenagers just don't think about what can happen as a result of a bad choice. I would definitely recommend this book .

Bobby and Emma Ross and their twin daughters, Zoe and Lilly live in The Ross, a hotel rich with Miami history. They lead the perfect life until the night of the twin’s 15th birthday party. What happens when drinking and a silly game of truth or dare result in the humiliation of Zoe, the more serious twin? Why does this bring up bad memories for Emma? Is it possible that Bobby and Emma don’t really know each other at all?

I felt all the feels for Zoe as she comes to terms with the emotions and truth of why she was willing to accept the dare. I, at times, was disgusted with Bobby. I understood that he wanted to be able to do something but that something should have been to love his daughter unconditionally.

I feel like any parent with teenagers should read this book. It’s a cautionary tale of what can happen at a party with teenagers and cell phones.

Somebody’s Daughter is an intimate, close-up look at a family; a family that could be any of us, filled with bad choices and lies that impact everyone in the family. The Ross family is a loving, close-knit family, until their lives are rocked by a scandal that torments them and threatens to tear them apart. The author pulls no punches...the family’s fear and anger leap off the pages, along with the deep love that they feel for each other...will that love be enough to heal them and save them? The characters in this story are so real, that I felt their emotions deep in my own heart. Their story is riveting and timely, and I know that it will resonate with all mothers, daughters, and fathers. It is a story of betrayal and forgiveness, bravery and resilience, and above all else, love,

Gazing off the balcony at the perfectly clear blue sky above crashing waves, the Ross family seems picture perfect. Parents Bobby and Emma are stable, smart and still in madly love. Their beautiful twins Zoe and Lily are typical teens worried about friends and selfies. The Ross’s run and live in a successful, swanky hotel on Miami Beach. Life just couldn’t get any sweeter. At the girls 15th birthday party a nasty text message is sent, video attached. Emma accidentally overhears friends gossiping in the restroom and knows in that instant, their lives will never be the same again. Author Rochelle B. Weinstein takes us on a painful journey through one families struggle to admit the agonizing truth about their daughter and find their way to forgiveness. Narrated from Emma’s perspective Somebody’s Daughter takes on one of life’s most challenging issues of parenting; our children out in the world making mistakes - while the parents learn they can’t always protect them. My heart was immersed in these characters as they dealt with issues that hit way too close to home. This is the digitally raised generation and the simple life lessons we were once taught seem to have been deleted with the push of a button. Cyberbullying and Cyber Sexual Harassment have become epidemic and is never too many degrees from our lives, as our phones are never far from our fingers. Highly recommend this extraordinary, relevant, well written story of love, fear, family and trust. Almost too much to consider with all the “what if’s” spinning through my mind. A perfect book club selection with endless discussion possibilities. A must read.

This book is fantastic. It takes a simple and loving family and thrusts them right into the middle of public scandal. What happens when the one that everyone is scrutinizing is your own daughter? Things take a turn for the worse when main character Emma hears a bunch of people talking about a video being sent around to their kids cell phones. When she sees the video she is shocked and heartbroken it shows a young girl engaging in a sexual act which is shocking but what makes it even worse it the fact that the young girl in the video is Emma's own daughter, fifteen year old Zoe. I liked this book because it showed the stress and worry that the parents went through both in worrying about their daughter but also in trying to get whoever was responsible for doing this crime punished. I found the characters in this book were very easy to relate to and you could really put yourself in their shoes. When the video starts to spread the family must take all necessary
actions to protect their daughter. I liked this because it showed a lot of possibilities on what could happen in this very real situation. I couldn't imagine having to go through this. The book was very easy to follow even with all of the characters and the author stuck to the story very well not going off on random rants that sometimes happen. Overall very well done. Not your simple text drama story this one had the whole family involved. It shows how far cyber bulling and cyber crimes can go in today's day and age.

Somebody’s Daughter is so relevant to the technological society we live in today. The characters are all believable, relatable, and imperfect. The flow of the story is fantastic, and the plot kept me on the edge of my seat.

There's a think line between trust and friendship and in this book, social media is involved. When someone films Zoe at a party and sends the video to everyone in her circle, Zoe's family has to deal with the frustration, anger, mistrust, pain and shame that comes with cyber-bullying.
It's a timely book given how much of ourselves we post online and it questions the very essence of all this, because when you make a mistake and it's online, well...a lot of people will make sure that you never forget it.
Thank you NetGalley for the eARC.

I was so excited when I got approved for this book because it had so many great reviews on it. I think I'm in the minority with this one since I'm only giving it 3 stars. I liked it ok. The internet is a scary place and I can't imagine what those people went through. Thank you for this complimentary copy of this book from Lake Union Pub through NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

3.5 stars and as it seem I'm bucking the trend, I'll need to word my review to justify why *sigh*

It's so much easier to just love a book. Gosh, I did love the premise and the author has a strong voice. Every line is 'descriptive' to the max. But for me, after the 35% mark, tags like my heart is breaking, I can't breath, I can't think, I am broken (not word for word) lost there impact, which, in turn, led to me feeling indifferent while reading. And that's a crying shame.

The beginning of this story is absolutely gripping, as is the last 20% or so. But prior to 'the person' being revealed, I found a good part of this story a slow-trudge.

Great read. Tells the story on what can happen when one 15 yr old makes a bad mistake while at a party, someone secretly videos her, sends it to friends and then uploads it to you tube. It affects the whole family dynamics and almost tears them apart. This story has so much more but I don’t want to give anything away.

I'm going to probably be in the minority here but this book was a tad bit too sappy/mushy for me with all the love between Emma and Bobby! Had this book focused more on Zoe and what happened to her as a teen, I probably would have enjoyed it much more. I however normally only read psychological thrillers so do not let my review skew your opinion.

This book is afterall categorized as women's fiction. A lot of attention was focused on the parents marriage, which I didn't know prior to reading and it was a little too much for me. Having said all that, when the book was focused on Zoe and the horrible thing that happened to her, I couldn't read fast enough! Emma, the mother annoyed me a little, I really didn't understand the similarity of her situation to her daughter's at all and I think it was bit overly dramatic. As I was reading this book, I also watched a show on ID called Web of Lies about a teen Audrie Pott and I actually started wondering if this book was written from her experience but soon realized that it was infact not. Sadly, what is happening today with this generation of children and social media is horrible and happens WAY too often! This book opens our eyes as parents and just how fast something can happen and change everything! Being a mother of a 15 year old boy, this honestly terrified me and made me realize all the pressures my child/children are going to be facing in the upcoming years. It was an eye opener and now having read this book, I may be more prepared as a mother. 4 stars alone for that! IF you do enjoy romance a bit with your novels, I think you will love this book! It is getting fantastic reviews!

A big thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for allowing me an advanced copy of this book! It is currently a "Read Now" on NetGalley so grab it while you can if you are a member.

Thank you NetGalley for a digital copy. If it wasn’t for bedtime I would have read this in one sitting. An excellent story about a family in crisis and growing up in the digital age. I look forward to reading more from this author.

I'm writing this through tears. I wouldn't have thought a book that addresses such difficult subjects could also be so beautiful.

Touching and challenging, SOMEBODY'S DAUGHTER is a close-up look at a family that is magazine-cover-perfect on the outside but struggling with the fallout of one mistake that threatens to dismantle everything they've worked to build. With trust, love, and support hanging in the balance, they must each make a difficult choice. And the consequences will either break them apart or make them stronger than ever.

An excellent storyteller, Rochelle Weinstein is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors.
