I did not finish this book, as much as I tried to get into it. I enjoy Greek mythology in books but this one just couldn’t get into it enough to want to finish

I unfortunately forgot to download the e-book on my kindle before it was archived and/or lost interest in the book because it’s been on my tbr for way too long, so I wasn’t able to read and review it (on time). Since I Must give a star rating, I’ve given it 3 stars to stay neutral/in the middle. Sorry to the publisher for not having gotten around to actually read it.

I am attempting to go back and read some of these older books to bring up my ratio, but unfortunately I can't find a copy of this in my library system! I will not be reviewing it apologies :(

I LOVE Greek Mythology so I was pretty excited to read this book.. The premise of the story was something I'd normally really enjoy and like but this book fell short of my expectations.

I received this free eARC novel from NetGalley. This is my honest review.

This has been on my TBR pile for so long, and I'm glad I finally got around to it. I really enjoyed the storyline and seeing the characters change throughout the story was a great character development. The plot was great and kept my attention. I'm glad I got the chance to read this and will be on the lookout for more in the future!

This book started off well, but ultimately I had to DNF. I couldn't get into the book or the characters

I started this book with high hopes and expected to like it. But, I found that it was not for me personally. Instead of possibly giving a bad review just based on my preferences, I choose to not review this book. I am giving it 3 stars because a rating is necessary and I don't want to mark it as a bad book per se.

Something a little different and unusual but I loved it. It was a breath of fresh air and I found the heroine really relatable. Can't wait to see what else is in store.

I liked the concept of this book; I was able to read through it while giving it another chance to fully grasp the style. However, it was hard to read through when the writing seemed not elevated or challenging to read. In the future, I think I would try to give it a chance again, but at this time I do believe there can be more improvements. The concepts of god and goddesses are heavily competitive.

I’m a sucker for anything to do with Greek mythology and gods and goddesses. I really enjoyed this. I thought it was fun and a fast read

I am just now getting back into my account after so many years and realized I never left reviews. My high school students, especially those who like Greek mythology, love this series. It has also been a part of my high school tutoring group.

This was a really interesting premise, Overall, I enjoyed the read. One of the things I didn't particularly care for was the romance. So. Much. Romance. And it seemed really shallow. The strength of this book is the action - the quests, the trials. I think the author missed an opportunity to have a strong female lead who takes her fate into her own hands and succeeds on her own merit, without having to spend half her time thinking about some guy.

DNF. Thank you Netgalley for providing this book, but unfortunately, it wasn't what I expected at all. I didn't really like the characters, it felt kind of... childish maybe? I couldn't bring myself to finish it. I'm sure it will be perfect for some readers, but it simply wasn't for me.

I was unfortunately not as drawn in to this book as I hoped. I enjoyed the beginning, but felt like the story fell off towards the end.

This is a great Greek mythology YA fantasy. Main character is inspiring and smart. She's someone you would want to meet. Love interest is good too, not adding spoilers here.
Beautiful cover doesn't hurt too! Very enjoyable read.

I really wanted to have a great time with this book. I wanted to enjoy it. I have to say that I definitely did not hate it. It simply felt a bit flat for me. The characters were a bit juvenile/immature for the age they were supposed to be. If this has been more middle-grade I could have "bought" the dialogue and interactions a bit more.

I heavily skimmed the second 50%.

Initially I was excited to see the character of Gabriel. A gay teenage boy dealing with the stereotypical ridicule that many gay teenage boys go through. Our MC Hope was instantly befriending him, and it was sweet enough. And then a couple of chapters later, when his desire to be a fashion model comes up, Hope stifles a giggle at his expense. Also, the passion for fashion is never brought up again.

That's generally how it felt with many of the characters - their personalities felt very one dimensional.

The insta-love also turned me off a fair amount.

I think this book has a lot of potential and probably a lot of people will enjoy it; it just wasn't the book for me.

This book was good and very detailed but I had a hard time attempting to finish it. Great for fans of the Percy Jackson books, but, as mentioned above, very detailed. May attempt a later re-read.

Percy Jackson meets the Hunger Games meets A Court of Thorns and Roses.
I couldn’t help but compare.
PJO was my introduction to Greek mythology at a young age, and The Hunger Games was one of the first series i read after becoming enamoured with reading (and was what got me into reading a bunch of dystopia) and ACOTAR, well I just love ACOTAR and as it’s based on stories of mythology too, there were always going to be similarities.

Pretty interesting premise overall, though I think there were a few holes in worldbuilding – I can't imagine a bunch of teenagers being put together and not one of them freaks out/panics about being on Mt Olympus? Also, they're all the same age and putting boys in one dorm and girls in another is definitely not going to stop curious kids.

I think there were some overlooked little details but overall, I did enjoy the story as a whole and would definitely like to continue the series to see what happens next. I feel this will be a storyline where the writing and quality matures at the same time as the characters arcs.

3.5/5

First of all, I've never heard of this author before, but the book cover is amazing and it pulled my interest like a bear to honey! And the plot, characters, and dialogue of this book have left me searching this author up for more of her books! I recommend this story!
