Raul and Taz finally get their story!

Raul has newly relocated to what many would term paradise, Hawaii. With his newly formed partnership with Taz, they are the new recruits at his friends firm, Search and Protect.

When he received a call from his friends sister saying she is in danger he doesn't think twice about going to protect her. Arin would kill him if anything happened to Mali! But after years of hearing about Mali the egghead, the real life woman just about knocks him on his keister!

Mali knows that Arin has kept most of her accomplishments from her. But she feels she has to prove herself anyway. But doing post-doc work on human trafficking, not the safest topic to pick!!! But when her research group is targeted she reaches out to her big sister and ends up with the sexy Raul and his furry sidekick!

I loved that whilst trying to be a gentleman, a professional whilst keeping Mali safe, Raul can't help being attracted to her. He'll take this attraction at the pace Mali decrees. It really is quite funny how terrified he is of Arin, although well justified with her intense skill set! But Mali may be naïve when it comes to getting herself into danger but she is not about to let a fine specimen like Raul get away!

Great action packed, fast paced story with romance aplenty, but not at the sacrifice of a rip roaring story. Mali and Arin put the fun in dysfunctional! Well worth the read and I now have to browbeat my hubby into getting me my very own Taz!!!

Danger in paradise, the best friend's little sister, and a couple of smart, well-trained dogs. YES, I'm still loving this series. (Seriously, the best friend's little sister thing works for me. Especially since Raul is both a gentleman about their attraction and completely set on letting things happen despite big sister's disapproval. Because, you know, Mali isn't a child and can make her own choices despite what her sister thinks.)

But let's get back to the danger. Given the job she's working on, Mali intellectually understands that she could be in danger. It isn't until things go south on her and her group that she really understands what danger is. Fortunately for her, she has someone to turn to when things get rough. That someone might not be the person she initially sought out, but Raul turns out to be the best person for the job. (I'm simplifying here. It's Raul and the team and Mali's sister, but you get the point.)

We've got the danger. We have some simmering attraction. We have a sister who has to come to grips with the fact Mali isn't a kid anymore. We have family dynamics and a man who's trying to find his place in things now that he's not in the military anymore. And the dogs. The smart, capable dogs who will protect their charges and do what needs to be done to get their partner out of danger.

I couldn't get on board with the heroine. Her character made no sense to me. One minute she's terrified and running for her life, the next she's flirting and making out with some stranger. Not to mention her snooty attitude towards men. She actually thinks that any "educated" man is sophisticated and intelligent (as if education makes them all these elite-minded men) and credits Raul's saving her to the fact that he's not like her educated co-workers and therefore wasn't thinking when he saved her. So basically, he's all brawn and no brains. Nice. I didn't like her internal thoughts and they turned me off real quick.

Total Bravery is the fourth book in the True Heroes Series. Raul and his partner Taz (a trained german shepherd) are sent to Hawaii on a mission. Mali's job has put her in danger and Raul is determined to keep her safe. This book has danger, suspense and loveable characters. This is a great addition to the series and I would definitely recommend it.

Piper Drake has the ability to bring readers into a fast pace adventure where they don't want it to stop even after they read the last page.

Total Bravery is another win for Piper Drake. The author has well research her topic to under how animals are handled by their trainers keep the story grounded during action pack scenes. There is romance, sex with this book which doesn't add to the story but doesn't subtract either. The story is told from Raul and Mali points of view. Which gives you insight into everyone inner thought that sometimes slows down the fast pace story.

Even though the book is number 4 in a series readers will not be lost. You will be pulled into a world where you are afraid if you put the book down something awful will happen to your favorite characters.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the advance copy of Piper J. Drake Total Bravery (True Heroes #4)

4.5 stars. This is a great, action-packed adventure romance with great characters and a beautiful environment, Hawaii, which becomes a character in its own right in the book.

Raul has had several bad experiences working with trans in the military. He's been left high and dry by the people who were supposed to be there for him--to have his back. Luckily he's gotten a call from his best friend Arin, who's served with him. Someone he trusts. She's possibly found him a new team and a new home. Can he trust it?

Before he can get settled, he gets an urgent call for help--from Arin's sister Mali. She's a researcher and she's in trouble. Can he help her?

Yes. He didn't ask any questions, he immediately acts and saves the day. But he didn't make a great impression on his new team.

Mali is working in a dangerous area, trying to get information on sex trafficking in the area. When her PI blows the warning whistle to scatter, she does, leaving her teammates behind as directed. Unfortunately, she realizes she's being followed.

What can she do? Light goes on. Her sister Arin is in town. She calls her phone for help and gets a stranger. A stranger who's willing to help.

Mali drags the Search and Protect crew into her team's kidnapping, which uncovers a secret organization with illegal international connections that could get them all killed.

Great romantic suspense with characters that I enjoyed getting to know. Thanks!

The fourth book in the True Heros book series that can easily be read as a stand-alone novel. A very suspense romantic read that is full of steamy love scenes

Mali is in Hawaii doing research work when her team is taken. She runs and calls her sister but it goes to Raul. Raul is former military and is starting a new job at Search and Protect Company. He and his dog go and find her. He takes her back to the compound and they try to figure out who’s after her. When the team starts searching for her team, someone shoots at Mali. There is chemistry between Raul and Mali but he’s Mali’s sister’s best friend and is afraid of how she’ll react. But their feelings are too strong to not act on them.
When they locate the missing team, it’s from a known human trafficker and go in to rescue them. What they find is much more than they expected. They get the researchers and call the authorities for the rest. Now that Mali knows how dangerous Raul can be, will she accept him for who he is or will it scare her off?
Great story. Action, suspense and sex. A German Shepherd dog ( my favorite ) . Told in third person with both Mali and Raul’s pov. The sex is hot but only a couple of scenes.

It took me a little to get settled into the book because it was a completely new team and I didn't expect that. I also struggled a little to connect to the characters, not quite sure why. Overall stil an enjoyable read and I'm rather curious about the rest of the new team.

I’m sorry to say I could not finish this book. I read to 40%, and that was a struggle. I don’t know if it was the difficulty in pronouncing the names, or the story itself. There was not a lot of chemistry between the hero and heroine, as least as far as I got., and I found the sisters very annoying. I have enjoyed Ms. Drake’s novels in the past, and will pick up another one, this one wasn’t for me.
Sorry.
