Unfortunately, did not finish. I was bored and everything felt super cliche. I want to give the author the benefit of the doubt, so might pick up another one of their books soon.

Why did I DNF, do you ask? Well... "I hold open the door for Alice. As she walks outside, her perfume dives straight to my dick. Don’t even think about rising to the occasion. Too late." Hmmm... Sorry, but that really turned me off. lol.

Cinderella and the Geek is the first in the British Bad Boys series. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. I know I am late with my review, but, in my defense, I do work a LOT, but, I am so glad that I took time out to read this book. It has some of my favorite topics, IT and British men. Alice is working at a gaming company that is quite successful and looking to break into the United States with its game. This job is a temporary stop before Alice leaves for university several hours away. She appears to be working for a year and saving her money while living at home with her mother.

Harry is one of the owners of the gaming company and co-owns it with his friend Caleb. Both are serious techies and from all accounts both great guys who are great looking. Alice's office is right next to Harry's and both have crushes on each other but neither has acted on it until Harry needs a date for an awards ball where he is in the running for being the sexiest geek. It appears to be a pretend date but, the only people who seem to be fooled is Harry and Alice as it gives each of them the chance to pretend to act in a way that they really wanted to act anyhow like touching and holding hands. It is the kiss that really sparks things and they start to date in secret. This leads to a great start of a relationship until it is time for Alice to leave for school. It is a great story and it is interesting to see the dialogue of two people who should talk to each other instead of holding so much dialog in their heads. I look forward to the next in the series. Alice finally has enough saved up to go to college. Her problem is that she’s crazy about one of her bosses, Harry. Harry is a total geek and oblivious to Alice’s feelings towards him. However, the thought of not having her in the office every day has him in a panic.
This was a cute and fairly straight-forward story. The title was especially fitting. I’m not sure why it’s in a bad-boy series since Harry isn’t what one would call a bad boy. I’d enjoy reading more from this author.

I loved this funny and very witty romance story. Alice works at a gaming company that is run by the very handsome and geeky Harry. Alice has crushed on Harry for a very long time, but she does not want to risk losing Harry's friendship by taking a risk and trying for something more. Plus, Alice does not believe in HEA's, but she will soon be leaving the company to go to university. What will she do now? I'm not going to tell you, of course, but the story will keep you hooked right up until the end.

This very funny and sweet romance is worth the read. The characters are so well-developed and interesting, and the story will draw you in right from the start. I highly recommend this book, and I look forward to reading more from this author.

Rating: 3.5 Stars

Take two awkward people with some baggage, put them in a fake date situation, and watch the sparks fly. That's pretty much what happened in Cinderella and the Geek, and it was a lot of fun watching this romance blossom.

Who?

• Harry, the RPG designer, who had put off romantic relationships after suffering a terrible breakup six years ago.

• Alice, Harry's office manager, who had little romantic experience, and was leery of relationships due to her father abandoning her family.

What?

Alice's time with Harry's company was dwindling, and she was determined to act on her feelings for Harry before she left. A well timed fake-date reveals that each has feelings for the other, but will this this relationship last beyond its expiration date?

Why?

This book was really fun. I loved how adorably awkward both Alice and Harry were, and their romance was totally smile inducing. Harry especially endeared himself to me with so many of the things he said and did, and he may have made me swoon. There was witty banter and fun outings, and the drama was fairly low, which is a win for me. I definitely enjoyed the bulk of this story, but I especially loved the epilogue! It was just precious.

This was a cute chick lit book. It was a quick easy read. Harry and Alice were cute and the plot wasn’t overly complex or complicated. This is the type of feel good book you read to have a break from other more serious books you might be reading. It did the trick and I liked it well enough.

My Thoughts

“He’s taking you to a ball. You’re going to have your very own Cinderella moment.”

You know the feeling, you’re between reads and really in need of some light entertainment - then this is the perfect book for you. A really cute read that contains some laughs and loads of sexy romance - just what was required for a quick, no brainer escapism. This is not meant to be deep and meaningful, it’s chick lit, light and fluffy.

A super easy read, the perfect filler between your more heavier reads and just what I was looking for. It’s a sweet new adult romance as Alice is preparing for college, while Harry is in his early 20s. The fun take on this particular read, is that they are both nerds and awkward, not knowing what to do or how to express their feelings. See .... cute!

The Cinderella moment at the awards night and ensuing fallout is fun. I liked the dual, alternating perspectives for both Alice and Harry as it gives you a fuller understanding of both sides, especially their backgrounds and what made them the way they are and therefore, act the way they do. Of course the other Cinderella aspect is the classic coming from different backgrounds and wondering if she would get her Prince Charming.

It’s not all fluff, there is much to be said about not being honest with your feelings, allowing past hurts to impact on present relationships and of course the main plot, misunderstandings. Inside all of us is that person scared of being honest, showing how you really feel and prepared to take that chance to fall in love. This ticks all the boxes for a feel good, chick lit romance.

Let’s make it clear - this is no ground making plot here. But what you do have is a light hearted, sexy romp with just enough depth and a lovely brush with fairytales. What’s not to like?

No need to be back by midnight.” She winks at Alice who pretends not to notice. “Don’t forget to take loads of selfies.”

Cute rom com, chick lit. I like the format of hearing what Alice is thinking and says. Then the same with Harry. Fear of not knowing what the other person is thinking when you yourself hide your feelings can backfire. Reading too much into actions and words versus non actions and words lends oneself to jump to conclusions good or bad. This book reinforces the old saying, nothing said nothing gained. Or what my dad always said, if you don’t ask you will never know. So jump into reading a cute easy read.

In this loose re-telling of Cinderella, Alice works behind the desk at a tech job which is co-owned by Harry. Harry also happens to be the guy Alice has been lusting after since the interview. Told from dual perspectives, we come to learn that Alice and Harry are mutually attracted to each other, and they also each have scars from their past that could dictate their future.

The attraction between Alice and Harry is truly one of the sweetest things. And I love the dual perspective the reader gets because we're able to see how each of the characters' pasts has really developed them into who they are, and who they can become - for better or worse. Usually the speediness of this relationship would upset me, but these two have known each other for a while, and it plays off really well when they get together.

I found the conflict between them to be petty, and frustrating at times. However, because I really liked each of the characters, I found that I was able to hold on until that pettiness dissipated.

This was a 3 star read for me - sweet and entertaining, but still missing that something that would make it a re-read for me.

Thank you to Netgalley and Entangled Publishing for the copy to review..
A wanted romance from both people yet a fear of getting rejected or ruining a friendship if it is not mutual feeling is pushed together one night thanks to a fake date.. Two totally different worlds clashing together.. I enjoyed seeing the story unfold.. Was it ground breaking or earth shattering ? No .. But it was a light hearted read with wants, needs, drama and a fairy tale-ish twist to it.. I am not disappointed I read it I just wish there was more to it.. Recommend? Yes if you want something that is easy to read and wont put you in a funk or a down ward spiral once you have turned the last page..
~Happy Reading~

Cute story with realistic characters. I enjoyed the premise and felt it was believable.

Cinderella and the Geek was a good read.  Alice and Harry are two characters that were interested in each other but they both didn't want to make a move.  Alice is getting ready to go to college and Harry is having trouble letting her go.  Alice has been there for both Harry and Caleb since the very beginning and trying to find a new assistant.  But when Harry needs to find someone to attend a function with him Alice is there to bail him out.  The more time that they spend together the more intense their chemistry gets.  Harry had been in love before but that ended horribly and since then he has not dated anyone.  Now is the time for him to ask Alice out on a real date and for him to realize that he can love again but he needs to realize that before Alice leaves for college.

I totally recommend this read!!

The concept for this story was cute, but the execution fell short for me. As it involves "geeks" you'd think the whole awkward thing would be a good fit, but it wasn't for some reason. I'm not sure if it's because this read as more YA than NA for me, but I just couldn't connect to the characters as much as I would have liked. It wasn't horrible, just not for me.

Sweet read. Started out slow but picked up. Alice and Harry both have feelings for each but is unaware how they each felt. It only takes one night for their relationship to change but insecurities challenges their relationship. Recommended read

**3.5 Stars**

Alice isn't concerned with finding love or happily ever after. That's the stuff of fairy tales and she doesn't have time for that. Instead, she focuses on her job and acquiring her degree. Besides, she's young, so if for some reason she were to change her mind, there's plenty of time.

At least, that was how she felt prior to actually feeling as if she were Cinderella in her own fairy tale. There's a ball, a magical dance, and a week that felt like a dream. What started out as a fake date becomes all too real, and the person sharing this experience with her? Her boss, Harry. Yes, she'd already noticed how sexy he was, but assumed she didn't exist in his world aside from in a professional sense. You know, sometimes it's really nice to be wrong. Harry has had his eye on her as well.

But this is real life, and Alice is focused on pursuing her dreams and Harry has a business to expand. So where does that leave them? Though their personalities may be completely different, as are their future goals professionally, they balance one another perfectly. Something so right can't end, can it? Can they both achieve their dreams without sacrificing what they've found together? Are HEAs actually real?

One-click now and follow along as two people must decide whether to take a chance and risk not only their hearts, but also their dreams.

First, I'd like to say thank you for the opportunity of reading and reviewing. Everything that follows is my opinion and mine alone.
I wish I could say I liked this book, but I honestly didn't. I actually ended up dnf-ing the book and because of that, I won't be placing it on Amazon or Goodreads (unless informed otherwise). I couldn't get into the characters and I was just not feeling the story itself.
That said, I am still thankful for the opportunity.
