Faith in Sweetwater County, the 10th book in the Sweetwater County series by Ciara Knight, centers on the conflict between a well-intentioned minister and a duty-conscious social worker.
Pastor Cline Grant creates quite a stir when he comes to town with his beautiful teenage niece, Chrissy. He has hopes for renovating an old church and establishing a program for at-risk youth. But the pastor has a secret. He and the spunky thirteen-year-old are not actually related. He is rescuing her from an abusive uncle and is hoping to find safety in the small town. Little did he know when he promised to do God’s work on Earth, just how much God would ask of him. He would never have guessed that he’d be asked to become a kidnapper.
Social worker Kinley Stafford is fighting her own demons. Although a dedicated worker, she feels that only months before, a little boy died because she missed the signs and failed to protect him from a cruel father. She has vowed never again to let that happen. Despite an attraction for Cline, she feels obligated to investigate the circumstances behind the arrival in town of the pastor and the young girl who is accompanying him. This leads to conflict as she gradually learns the true nature of the pastor’s background.
The characters of Cline and Grant are well drawn, and the town with its colorful characters provides an interesting backdrop. While initially, neither is looking for a relationship, they find themselves drawn to each other. Their shared passed passion for the well-being and safety of youth, coupled with their love of God, help them overcome their differences and leads to an HEA.
Although part of a long series of books, prior reading in the series is not necessary to fully enjoy this book. Faith in Sweetwater County is a thoroughly enjoyable book and a worthwhile reading experience.

Faith In Sweetwater County has an over abundance of love, stress, peace, protection, safety, secrets, trust and much much Faith in GOD. Being a Christian is quintessential in this book. It is what guides Pastor Grant. Taking care of children is what guides Kinley - it guides her obsessively - there is reason for that - a very serious - severely serious reason - you just wouldn't believe it. Pastor Grant just moved there because of a very serious unreal secret one that could land him - well you have to find out for yourself, it is so worth it. Will they get together? Even when they start working together? Will be let GOD lead? Will the secrets come out?

I have been waiting for this book and it did not disappoint. I lived in a small town in Northern Michigan and Sweetwater and the people remind me of since I now live in the Metro Detroit Area and a big city life is so different.

This really was a sweet book! Picture this. Type A social worker who believes in black and white situations within families. She does not want to put any child at risk no matter what! Enter a pastor who is taking care of his "niece"...even though she is no blood relative to him. Kidnapping, a runaway, meddling townsfolk, and two people who are very attracted to each other even though they are very different. Definitely worth a read!

I found this book when I was browsing through Netgalley, I had never heard of the author so I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. It is a very well written book. It is a romantic love story with suspense and proves that family is not always blood related. I will be looking for more books by this author.

This is an enjoyable story set in a small town. The characters were likeable. The storyline was a little over the top, but still kept my interest. I’m not quite sure that this book should be listed in the category of Christian fiction, because there were elements of it that didn’t seem to be consistent with that. It’s a sweet, clean, likeable story.

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. I was not required to give a positive review. This is my honest opinion of the book.

Faith in Sweetwater County is a quick and sweet read. It seems to be part of a series, but I was able to read it with no problems. A social worker, a bad-boy turned preacher and an abused teenager meet and have to work through mistrust and secrets. Because of a past event that Kinley can't forgive herself for, she becomes suspicious about Cline and Chrissy, especially after Chrissy runs away. Can the past be overcome? Enjoyable book.

I received this book from NetGalley and all opinions are my own.

I came upon this book as I was browsing through Netgalley. I had never heard of this author or this series but I was intrigued so I requested it.

I have to say I was really impressed and surprised I hadn’t heard of this author before. This was a book with a lot of depth and layers. The cast of characters was very interesting and fun.

Kinley was a very sympathetic character with wounds she needs to overcome. I was so worried about what would happen when she discovered Cline’s secret, which he was keeping for good reason. I could only hope she would understand and help him.

I will definitely be on the lookout for more books like this and from this author.

Faith in Sweetwater County by Ciara Knight is book ten in the Sweetwater series. I wish I could say that I have read all the previous books in the series, but this is the first book by Ms. Knight that I have had the pleasure of reading. This author’s books interest me after reading Faith in Sweetwater County, so I will be looking for more.

The story is well-written with characters that clash when both are trying to do the right thing. Kinley can come across as a nosy, intervening social worker, who some might say would “need to get a life.” Honestly, though isn’t she the type of worker wanted to help children in trouble or need. I could see her assumptions when Pastor Cline Grant seems so ambiguous in his answers. However, things are not what she thinks at all. Faith is needed before trust and love can form. This makes the title perfect for this story.

This is a sweet, inspirational story that has intrigue and romance. It is not too long but has a satisfying conclusion.

A clean, sweet, inspirational romance novel, featuring a a pastor with a troubled past, caring for a teenage girl, and a social worker riddled by guilt.
Surprisingly, I found Kinley, the heroine, more compelling than Cline, the hero; her concern/obsession for at-risk kids is well written, even though it makes her a bit annoying person. Her inquisitiveness and will to help seems often meddling and can be a bit irritating, but makes her character quite believable.
The contrast between the previous Cline’s “superficial world of modeling, acting and women” and his current work as a pastor and his dedication to God felt way too rushed and a bit moralistic to be entirely convincing.

I would give this book 3.5 stars. Overall a good story with two different people coming from different angles. On the one hand, you have Kinley, a social worker who sees children in peril everywhere, whether it is real or not. This was one issue I had with the book, as I have known social workers with a very biased view before, and it was not pleasant. Obviously see the need for them, but have seen the abuse by them too. Anyway, there is also Cline, a young new pastor who has his 13 year old niece with him. They are running from a dangerous situation, but Kinley sees that they are hiding something, and jumps to a lot of conclusions. Do not really see the attraction between them, so the romance is weaken that way too. I liked the book enough to find out the HEA, and for the most part liked the characters as well. Would recommend this book.

This is the story of Kinley, a social worker, who feels like a failure after a boy in her care dies and Cline, a pastor, who has the daughter (Chrissy) of a friend in his care. Of course they are attracted to each other- its a romance. But Kinley wants to focus on her work and Cline wants to keep a private life since he is in hiding with Chrissy.
At the heart of this story is the question "Is there ever a time it is alright to break the law?" When is it okay to lie?
I enjoyed reading this story and meeting the characters in them. I especially loved Chrissy even though she acted older than her age a lot. But that could be explained by her past.
I gave this story a 3 because I did not love it enough to give it a 4, but its really a 3.5.
Would I read other books by this author? Yes
