Expected a bit more from this. Found myself skimming a big chunk of the book. Might give it another go at another time.

Mikki Taylor can do no wrong so when given the chance to let her mentor me through the pages I jumped on it. Very insightful and interesting read.

Nice interesting book that I enjoyed reading. Learned quite a bit and had some great humorous parts. I enjoyed reading this book even though it is like any other book of this kind.

This book is like a modern day guide to becoming Amanda Priestly. It gives women the strength to look good on the outside, even when they're not feeling it on the inside.

A wonderful title and good concept, marred by lack of focus and trite writing. The "Miki-isms" were so juvenile that I didn't finish the book. The best part of the book are the recommendations of good products one can find at the drugstore.

I've always enjoyed Mikki Taylor's column in Essence Magazine and found myself longing for more of her unique voice. Editor in Chic: How to Style and Be Your Most Empowered Self features not only great style advice, but positive affirmations and suggestions on how to be "informed, inspired, and fearless." Taylor's book serves as a balm for those on the journey to self-discovery and self-empowerment. Those who are fans of Taylor's work and career will be fans of this book. Though I do love Taylor's work, I did enjoy her previous book Commander in Chic better. I'm not sure if this one is lacking organization because it is an ARC, but that's why I gave it a 4/5 instead of a 5/5.

This is a book that every beauty enthusiast should have on her bookshelf, as while reading, iconic lifestyle expert Mikki Taylor helped me get my life on all fronts-- spiritually, mentally, and physically. Not only does she shares beauty tips and and style advice, she shares affirming words that empower and nurture the spirit. I was also pleasantly surprised to read inspiring anecdotes from other influential women sprinkled in the book as well. I enjoyed reading this beautiful book and can even see myself referring back to the highlights I've made again and again.

Thank you to Atria Books and Netgalley for the ARC of Editor in Chic in exchange for an honest review.

I have to admit that I almost stopped reading this book because as a self-help book, it was just so damn wordy in the beginning. I wanted to get to the good stuff (like product recommendations and style advice) right away and I found that the author put in a bunch of stories about other people before getting to what the reader (me) really wanted. I skimmed most of the book until I found the recommendations which I found to be really helpful. I liked the way the book was categorized and organized.

Thank you to Netgalley, Mikki Taylor, and Atria Books for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I liked the overall idea of this book. It was well written and fun. I enjoyed the authors writing style as well.

Not at all what I expected - the usual bland self-help platitudes rather than specific advice.
