Perfect read. Well written with the perfect amount of character development.

The premise of how this couple got together felt pretty farfetched, but the book was exactly what I look for in a romance novel -- entertaining and hot.

3 Stars, this was a fun, quick read. However, very cheesy in the last ten pages which almost made me want to knock a star of. My only main issue was the constant flip-flopping in terms of character with Rae. One minute, she's this shy woman who can't possibly be seen with make up and can't talk to 'the man of her dreams' and the next she's wearing next to nothing in a photoshoot with said 'man of her dreams'. Okay then but other than that, enjoyable!

Rae and Nate were so hot together when I read the blurb I was expecting a smoking hot read and you get that as well as a really good read I really liked these two and just loved that she came out of herself around Nate this was a really good interesting read and I am looking forward to reading more from Alice in the future

This was a okay story, I didn't like Nate's character. Thanks to Netgalley, for this free copy. My opinion is my own.

Désirée “Rae” Knight has a great opportunity to write one of the best articles in her life. The only problem...to get the information she needs she has to find a "date" for the week to go to visit the resort so she can get the scoop. Luckily for her she already has someone in mind...

Nate knows exactly who Désirée aka “Rae” is and exactly what she does and he can't wait to see just what she has in store for their weekend away.

I voluntarily read an advanced review copy of this book

I want to honestly say that I really wanted to love this book. The description was really good and most of the interaction between Désirée “Rae” Knight and Nate was very hot and funny but at times I wanted to shake Rae and tell her to be herself.

This was not one of my favorite romances. I picked it up and put it down several times even though it is pretty short. The beginning was interesting but the middle just dragged. The end was fairly satisfying but it took so long to get there that I couldn't enjoy it.

I like Alice Gaines' books, but this one was a little disappointing, I was surprised that Rae could be so caught up in her writer persona that she couldn't step away for true love. I'm not sure she deserved him...

2,5 stars
Blurb sounded good, but the book was ok.
Nate was not very likable to me. He was really the one in control.

This book was more sexy time and less plot which is okay in some cases but it made me have to force myself to finish. I really wasn’t a fan of the heroine I normally like stronger female leads but that could just be my personal opinion talking. This book was just okay for me.

Naughty Naughty is the name of the game. Desiree has to step out of her comfort zone and meets Nate. Lots of heat in "His For the Week". Will Nate and Rae stay together longer than a week? I really liked the story. Looking forward to more books by Ms. Gaines.

An interesting premise, His for a Week is steamy read, though it does have its issues. Initially, Rae comes off as a strong female lead. Unfortunately, her attitude and demeanor quickly lose their appeal. There is a line between independent and obnoxiously stubborn, and Rae often falls into the latter. It’s both frustrating and tedious. One the other hand, Nate is likeable and seems like a great match for Rae, both in and out of bed. Unfortunately, she is too stubborn to see it. They do share some crazy chemistry as they heat up the pages. Their banter is amusing and the ending is acceptable.
While the erotic aspect of this novel is enjoyable, the drama can be a bit much. If you enjoy drama with your sex, this is definitely a read for you.

First of all, I wanna say that the cover is gorgeous and I could easily say that Desiree is the model. The cover is the only thing that was done right when it comes to this book. I had a ton of problems when it came to this book. For one the blurb is misleading. For Rae only one week is enough. She doesn't do commitment and she is "single and sexy". Nate is the one who wants something more and only him. Rae did nothing to prove to me that she actually loved Nate. She was always talking about how controlling he was and how she didn't want a man like that. Do you wanna know how he controlled her? He wanted her to remove the Desiree makeup and wear some the clothes he chose for a photo shoot. Oh yeah, he is so controlling, I can't breathe. Honestly, I felt like she was the one who was controlling to the point of abuse. He was watching the game with some guys and she had to go to him and demand from him to stop watching the game and get around talking to people. Like he wasn't doing his job while watching a game. Last time I checked it was a good way to make someone open up to you. Rae's behavior was the one that needed fixing. She wasn't nice to Nate. I hated her. She ruined the book. And I didn't like the way she tried to fix her relationship with Nate. It seemed shallow to me.

This was a good story line. A journalist, Desiree, is trying to climb the ladder and pines over a man she sees everyday at a coffee shop. She is known for her column on sex and being single. She is offered to try out the new sex resort and write an exclusive article. She doesn’t want to go by herself; she wants to gain the courage to ask her fantasy from the coffee shop. Little does Desiree know that her man is attracted to her, too. So just by some luck and spying things turn positive for Desiree. She meets her man, Nate, and they make a deal about the resort. They are hot together in the sheets, but both need help outside the bedroom. This was a cute story and I liked how it ended.

Desiree 'Rae' Knight is finally going to get her big break if she can nail her latest assignment, which is to do a feature on a sex resort that has just opened. However, she needs a partner if she's to ever have a chance of doing the place justice in her article, and who better to ask than the hot guy that comes into Sufficient Grounds, the coffee shop she frequents. Yet, Rae isn't looking for a relationship and is only looking for the pair to be together for a week. But when the week is over, will she be brave enough to take a chance on Nate, or will she walk away from her chance at happy ever after?

The blurb of this book had me really intrigued, and so once I began reading this book I found I couldn't stop because I absolutely loved the hero. He's everything Desiree needs in a man to get over her hang-ups that she's not good enough. Why can't she understand that she doesn't need to take on another persona to land a man and be able to discover and write the things she does as a sex columnist? Will Nate be able to prove to Desiree that she's more than fine as she is?

As for the way this story started, I was amused by the heroine and how she comes face-to-face with the hero, as he's wanting to finally get to know her and what a better way to do that than convince him to help her. Moreover, I liked the banter between Nate and Rae, as the hero pushes her out of her comfort zone because he wants her for her and wants Rae to see that she doesn't need to be a woman that always needs to look her best.

With the main characters, I really liked Nate because he wants Rae for Rae and not Desiree the sex columnist. I also liked how determined the hero was to win over the heroine, even though -- at times -- his attempts prove hopeless. Why won't she give Nate a chance? What happened in her past that makes it so hard for her to trust? While the heroine, she's had it tough and it's understandable why she doesn't trust men after watching her mother pick the worst guys ever. I also liked how hard she's worked to get to where she is in her career and how determined she was to nail the article. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine was the tight friendships she shared with some of the secondary characters, especially her friend Carla, as the woman isn't afraid to make Rae face her fears by challenging her to do so. Will Rae listen to her friend's advice and realize that being alone isn't fun when she could have someone like Nate in her life?

Overall, Ms. Gaines has delivered an engaging read in this book where the strong chemistry between this couple spills over onto the pages in super hot and steamy sex scenes; and the ending had me sympathizing with the hero because of how things go awry in his relationship with Rae, but had me liking the heroine's determination to makes things right between them, as she needs Nate in her life just as much as he needs her in his. Then again, how could she not want to continue to sparkle when it comes to her writing? I would recommend His for the Week by Alice Gaines, if you enjoy steamy reads or books by authors Samanthe Beck, Tawna Fenske, Rebecca Brooks and Cathryn Fox.

I really had trouble getting into the book initially and getting caught up in the emotions of the characters. The storyline was good, but it just didn’t stand out in my mind amongst other books in the genre. The blurb was great, but overall the book just fell flat for me.

His For The Week is by Alice Gaines, a new to me author. If there is one thing I can say for certain about this book is that it is scorching hot. This author most definitely can write steam!

Desiree (Rae) Knight writes a column for Urban Life magazine, Sexy and Single. It’s a popular column but Rae wants more as a journalist. Rae is a quiet, shy person. But when she needs to publicly portray the sexy writer, Desiree, her friend helps her don a ton of make up and sexy clothing and she becomes Desiree, a self assured, confident, sexy woman.

Rae’s favorite place to write is tucked away in her favorite coffee shop, Sufficient Grounds, where she has found her muse, Hot Guy, who comes in every morning at the same time to get his coffee. But she doesn’t have the courage to talk to him as herself, as Rae. Rae has been offered to do a feature article on a new sex resort, Eros Retreat. She can’t go to the resort alone, only as a couple. Dare she consider asking Hot Guy to go with her to experience the resort? But she could never ask him as Rae. Only as Desiree.

Nate Winslow is still feeling the hurt from a bad divorce, from an ex-wife that cheated on him. He has no interest in getting into a relationship. He couldn’t help but to notice the quiet woman in the coffee shop. He recognized her as the sexy columnist. But it’s the quiet woman he sees every morning that interests him. When he comes across her one morning fully made up with different clothing on, he’s confused as to the change in her both looks and demeanor. When she asks him to spend a week with her at a sex resort, no way could he turn it down.

Neither Rae or Nate want a relationship. Rae from watching her mother be hurt by man after man her entire life, and Nate from his ex. So these two agree to a no strings week of sex so Rae can get her article. The challenge for Rae, though, is to stay in Desiree persona the entire time. She’s convinced that no way would Nate be attracted to her true self as Rae. So she gets up super early every morning to get made up so Nate doesn’t see her true self.

“She’d have to make sure her heart stayed protected. This was temporary and casual. No relationships. She could do this. She had to.”

Nate is continually confused with Desiree’s behavior. He craves getting to know the woman he saw in the coffee shop, not this woman he sees now. He’s determined to break through this barrier she has up and find the woman he knows is in there.

What Nate and Rae do share is crazy hot chemistry. These two don’t waste any time getting to know each other’s bodies. With the experiences that the resort offers, they are forced to explore parts of themselves that they might not have otherwise known existed. As the week progresses, they do grow closer and feelings start to develop but they both are determined, especially Rae, not to let this happen.

As I said, this book is crazy hot. The sexy times are sizzling. What I didn’t really feel is the emotional connection between them. Rae was so determined not to let herself feel anything. She keeps saying, her column is called Sexy and “Single.” And that’s how she has to stay. And Nate, though he was definitely a hottie, was a little confusing. He keeps saying how after the hurt he experienced, he doesn’t want a relationship, but keeps pushing Rae for more as well. Nate, though, most definitely was a swoony guy and Rae wasn’t the only one that noticed it at the resort which constantly bugged her.

So, while the sexy times in this book were definitely fantastic, I felt it lacked something with the couple. Still, I enjoyed it and it had a cute ending.

I had a hard time deciding on this one. On one hand I could understand Desiree’s conflicted personality and her need to roll out “Sasha Fierce” but she was annoying and missed the point with Nate. And now on to Nate. Yum! I guess he went with Rae because he felt an attraction and not many guys would pass on a week of wild sex. This was an erotic read with some very hot sex scenes. I found myself skipping over some of the herione’s internal dialogue to get to the good stuff. Nate and sex. This was my first read from this author and I did like the writing. Because of that and the wonderful Nate character I went with 4 stars.
