Miranda has no use for Valentine's Day or love in her life. When she hears people talking about how commercial and lame Valentine's Day is, she decides to set out to change their minds. She starts a random act of kindness movement in her little shop. It becomes the talk of the community.Whit is back in his hometown for one month and he is dreading it. He is filling in as an orthopedic surgeon on his last stop on the road to his new career in LA. He left Marietta at 18 and never looked back. Miranda didn't count on the boy she crushed on in high school to turn out to be the man that Whit is today. Whit never expected anything to make him question moving to LA and definitely didn't expect Marietta to grow on him. Great read. I love it!

I’ve read this a couple of months ago, and up until now, this brings a smile to my face. They met at the most awkward situation, Miranda Evans bumping into her long-time high school crush but Whitman Telford didn’t even recognize her at all, after years of absence and escaping their cowboy ranch. I don’t know about you, but these two characters definitely had me rooting for them from the beginning.

Socially awkward Whitman Telford was a hard man to crack, and even a harder man to love. He felt unloved all throughout his life, his mother never saying any good word about his father whom he thought abandoned him. When he finally did meet his biological dad, he never wanted to be called a cowboy and had separated himself from his family, treated everyone his competition, strove to be the best academic and vowed to leave Marietta the very minute he graduated. Now an Orthopedic surgeon, he’s back in his hometown but he couldn’t wait to leave again after a month of residency in Marietta hospital.

Miranda Evans was in the process of opening her gift shop featuring local artists and she loved being home in Marietta. Everything she loved and dreamed of were here, and she’s even more excited when her high-school secret crush was back in town. Too bad he was so aloof and he didn’t even recognize her. But good-natured and well-loved Miranda always kept a smile on her face and never once treated Witt as a stranger, and even agreed to his business proposal, knowing he’d be gone after a few weeks.

I love the relationship between Miranda and Witt. They’re opposites but their partnership was dynamic. Miranda was a motor mouth and easy going and everybody loved her, whereas Witt was silent, detached, anti-social and reserved. I admit, I myself wasn’t looking forward to his stay in Marietta with all his brooding and negative thoughts about the place, but a newcomer in the presence of darling little Petal sweetened the deal. This girl unknowingly brought Miranda and Witt together, with dragons and broken Christmas tree in the background. I know I am blabbing nonsense, but once you read the story, you’ll know what I mean.

If at first I was frowning at Witt’s standoffish stature, in the end, I was swooning at him. And I am loving author Sinclair Jayne too, for taking a chance with her characters and making me love them more. I am hoping to read her other books in the future!

Miranda Evans is finally making her dream come true, a gift boutique promoting local artists and products in the historic Graff hotel. Her bright, giving personality catches orthopedic surgeon Whitman Telford by surprise. Coming from this small town himself, he is eager to get this short stint at Marietta General over with before beginning his dream job in L.A. He never expected to ever come back here nor had he ever expected Miranda to get under his skin the way she does.

Miranda's Valentine project gets the whole town involved, including the former boy next door, Dr. Whitman. Her girlhood crush is once again in the neighborhood, stirring up old feelings. But when an unexpected emergency in Whit's family results in little Petal being put in his care, Miranda steps in to lend a helping hand. Soon Whit finds himself depending on Miranda for more than childcare. This quirky and very sweet romance will have you in its grip till the end because it is so endearing.

Valentine's at the Graff (Holiday at the Graff Book 4) Sinclair Jayne. This is Miranda Evans and Orthopedic surgeon Whitman "Whitt" Telford's story.

If you like small town sweet romance, then sit back and escape into Miranda and Whitt's journey to find love. If you have read other Marietta stories, you will enjoy getting to see old friends.

Miranda and Matt are opposites but there is definitely chemistry between them. Matt is only in town temporarily and has his life planned out and it doesn't include staying in this small Montana town. Well, will meeting Miranda change Matt's plans?

It is true what they say that opposites attract. Miranda and Witt went to high school together, but that is all they have in common. Miranda is a small town girl and Witt can’t get far enough away from the small town of Marietta. Their lives are drawn together when a little girl captures their hearts. This is the perfect book to read during the month of February to inspire love and kindness toward others.

4 His Ying To Her Yang Stars
* * * * Spoiler Free
People are shaped by that old concept of Nature vs Nurture...and I really think it is a matter of both... when it comes to all of us. In this 4th entry to the Holidays at the Graff series, we have the perfect seemingly opposites attract story. Except once we dive into these two characters... they may not be so opposite after all.

Orthopedic surgeon Whitman Telford did not get what he worked for, wanted and thought was his...at least, not yet. He went for a position in Los Angeles, was sure it was happening and then was thrown a curve from left field.

He was to work at the Marietta Hospital for the next month before the coveted position in Los Angeles would be his. Under any normal circumstances, any orthopedic surgeon would be thrilled. A smaller hospital allows for more hands on experiences and learning from accomplished doctors is always the best.

But this was Marietta...
Where Whitman had childhood history...
Where he couldn't leave fast enough once he hit 18.
And now he had to be here for a month.

Miranda Evans was known by all in Marietta as the good one... the dutiful granddaughter. The only one in her family who cared enough to look out for the grandparents who need help. Miranda was a bright light and even though her parents and siblings didn't appreciate all of who Miranda was...the community saw her and that needed to be enough.

Miranda chose taking care of her grandparents over completing college. She stayed with them out of love, not obligation. She felt she had been an outsider of sorts in her own family because they just didn't understand her talents as an artist not as an academic. With her grandmother and grandfather, she always felt apart of them and loved. When the grandfather was too sick to be at home and needed care in assisted living, the grandmother decided to sell the house and gave the profits to Miranda...Both wanted her to follow her dreams.

Miranda finally has what she has wanted forever...she is getting ready to open her own little shop inside The Graff. It will have some of the usual things guests will need...but mostly it will showcase local artisans and their wares from all around the county and state. It will have an antique flavor of ole west and also target different holiday themes. This place is Miranda's pride and joy and she doesn't mind her scrimping and saving to make it happen.

Valentine's is around the corner and Miranda is thrilled...until she hears everyone in the hotel bar talking about how much they hate it. How it is a made up holiday and they all feel like crap when it comes around.

What??!!!??? Nooooooo, that can't be right.

Valentine's needs to be about love...love for everyone... all kinds of love, not just the romantic kind...And there, once Miranda has this idea, she is on a roll. She goes out to the dumpster in back of the hotel because she remembered the staff throwing out the artificial Christmas trees no longer up to snuff for next season. They may not be perfect enough for the Graff... but they will work perfectly for what Miranda has in mind for her new Valentine's Idea, a Giving Tree of sorts.

Whitman is not happy to be back in Marietta. He is sour and annoyed. He hates small town gossip and knows it is only a matter of time when his presence will be brought to the family that took over raising him when he was 12. Whitman had been raised to believe his father,"The Cowboy", never really was interested in him or his mother. All his young childhood was a repeated loop of how his dad, the cowboy, was doing what he wanted with no responsibilities. His mother and grandparents drilled into Whitman education, focus and excelling was the way.

Then his mother died and was sent to his bio dad, the cowboy. From the moment he was there... Whitman felt an outsider, refused to accept any hand from the stepmom or brothers...and it took a toll on him. It made him closed off and only focus on school. He excelled in sports and clubs, he became a force to watch... a sight to see on the school campus.

As Whitman is walking into the Graff through the back entrance, he bumps Miranda off a ladder she was using to get that tree causing her to fall hard on her butt. He reaches for her to see if she is ok. Miranda is shook and a bit taken aback because The Whitman Telford has his strong hands checking her to see if she is alright.

Miranda has to check herself because Whit was her school crush. He was older than her and never even knew she existed... but she knew he did... big time. Miranda did everything she could in her own little way to have him "See Her"... and now he has his beautiful hands helping her up and touching to see if she is injured.

Miranda starts to go into overdrive...yup... she is a talker. She is passionate about everything and loves what she is about to do. She has this habit of her internal dialogue being vocal so others hear what she is thinking...It can be confusing for the person around... and maybe a bit embarrassing for her.

Whitman doesn't remember Miranda and she figures this out. She is totally fine with him and so friendly, Whit doesn't know what to do about it. He is at first very overwhelmed and has that usual feeling he has with interpersonal exchanges. He is so professional and comfortable when wearing his Surgeon's Coat talking about medical issues... It is when he needs to talk to people and have small talk, he never knows what to do... he is always tongue-tied.

And then he starts to listen to all of the things Miranda is rambling on about... It starts to touch him in his chest where he isn't use to...He makes sure she is ok and somehow goes back to his hotel room... But from that first connection with Miranda... Whit cannot stop thinking about her.

Miranda can't stop thinking about Whit either. She remembers why she was so taken with him when in school... everyone else thought he was stuck up... but Miranda would see him as he really was... a bit scared, a bit alone and being very, very careful all of the time.

These two start up a renewed type of friendship and then something happens which causes them to become more entwined. I felt this story was strong and caring. Everyone in life is not comfortable in their own skin. People carry so many hurts or misconceptions from childhood, it can hamper their adulthood.

Both of them find in each other what they needed and even though they may have seemed like total opposites, there was a feeling Miranda had not being accepted by her own family for what she loved and who she was... matched the feeling of being an outsider... self inflicted by Whit to himself.

They were very sweet with each other... and when all of Whit's walls come crashing down, the romance is something to enjoy. There were also secondary characters to flesh out the environment and story. I am hoping that one of them will get her own book soon....

Valentine's at the Graff is the fourth book in the Holiday at the Graff series of books by Sinclair Jayne. However, you do not need to have read the other books before this to read it as it a great stand alone novel, which makes you not want to put it down once you pick it up!

This book follows two protagonists; one is Miranda a woman who is opening her own shop and has been focusing on everyone else but herself for her whole life. The other is Witt; a doctor who has taken a residency for one month at his home town of Marietta and has been focusing on leaving as fast as he can. I loved this about the book as it showed both sides of the novel from both the male's perspective as well as the woman's.

As the book starts Miranda is only just about to open her store when Witt enters town who she has been in love with since she was in high school and twelve years later nothing has changed. However as the book carries on you see how they both gain feelings for each other as Miranda helps to look after Witt's cousin Petal when he is at work. As you see the beauty and romance come through for both characters you do start to see into both of their pasts and why they are both made into the way they are. Especially for Witt, this is a critical thing as you understand why he isn't interested in having friends and doesn't see himself as someone who Miranda could love.

This is a book I couldn't put down once I started it and constantly made me smile and look forward to what was going to happen next. I think this book would be a great read for anyone who likes romance books as it does make you smile and you don't need to read the rest of the series to read this one.

I wish I could say I loved Whits character from the start, but he seemed self absorbed, snobby and just not the hero type. Now Miranda and Petal I loved their characters and how they were with each other right from when they met. And I did get to understand why Whit was how he was as I read about his early years.
This book touched me, the reading was easy through the heartwarming moments and just tugged my heartstrings through the moments of angst, all in all it was a wonderful, don’t miss reading book.

An enjoyable sweet and clean romance. It took me a little bit to get into the story, but once I was I liked it. The characters are what really make the book. Miranda's verbal tangents had me laughing, and I enjoyed watching Witt's socially awkward character evolve. If you are looking for a book high in drama, well this isn't it, which I greatly appreciated. This is the 4th book in the series written by several different authors and it is a standalone novel, though you will see old characters from previous books. Overall, a good story. *I received an ARC of this book from NetGalley and this is my voluntary and honest review.

I love all the books written with Marietta, MT as its backdrop. This one was a little duller than most of them. I found Witt and Miranda to be lovable characters, but the story just didn't have a lot of excitement. It was also very predictable though I was surprised at the speed in which Witt elevated their relationship at the end.

I just loved this story about three lost souls finding their way through each other. The writing is clever and brings the feelings of the character to life and leads to really caring about what happens to each of them together and individually.
Miranda Evans, Wittman Telford and young Petal have all suffered emotional upheaval and hurts from not fittinfg into their respective families. All three need the security brought by understanding, acceptance and love. Petal embraces it; Witt runs from it; Miranda yearns for it.
The blending of their relationships by a fate bigger than them creates a very sweet and appealing story.

Another holiday at the Graff...concept of this series is great and I’ve enjoyed each book.

Looking for a heartwarming romance? Look no further – this is a delightful, contemporary one set in Marietta, Montana. After the untimely death of his mother, Whitman Telford went to live with his biological father, his stepmother and their children. He resented everything about the people and place so he couldn’t wait to get away from the town when he was eighteen and has never looked back. Now he’s an orthopaedic surgeon and has been made to work at the Marietta hospital for a month before starting his dream job in LA. He hasn’t contacted any of his family, arranging to stay at the Graff for the duration of his tenure.

Whilst there he meets Miranda Evans. He can’t remember her but she sure remembers him! They were at High School together and she had a crush on him that she’s never forgotten. Now she’s opening up a gift boutique shop in the Graff, where she plans to feature products of local craftspeople. She has a heart of gold, always striving to help others rather than putting herself first. When she hears people complaining about the commercialism of Valentine’s Day, she decides to run a promotional event to reward random acts of kindness and giving. Whitman inadvertently ends up rescuing Miranda and the attraction between them begins slowly but surely but with plenty of angst and turmoil along the way!

Get ready for an endearing page turner with great characters and, if you’re a fan of Marietta based stories, lots of familiar places and events. I loved escaping into this community again and into this story. It will work as a standalone, but I hope it tempts you to read other Marietta romances in future! I have to admit that I tend to grab them whenever they become available. Although they are written by a variety of authors, they’re all talented individuals who work well to create this great community, the people and places therein and fantastic romances to escape into.

I requested and received a copy of this novel. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.

Valentine’s at the Graff is a charming, touching romance that shows how well opposites can attract… and what a little kindness can do in a person’s life. It would probably be hard to find more opposite people than Miranda and Witt. She’s bubbly, giving yet not overcome by life’s challenges, she shines and believes in the good of others – even when she’s proven wrong. He was focused on two things, become the best doctor he could possibly be and leave his small town home far behind in his dust. Now he’s back for a short, non-negotiable stay and his life is about to become interesting. It’s ironic how memories can give a different picture than the actual facts do. This is something that Witt is also going to have to face – and when he does it just might change his future plans.

While I adored Miranda, Witt took me a bit longer to warm up to. He has a lot of baggage and often could have used a stern talking to. But life and people can change so that when Witt begins to open up and shed the stuffy, nearly rude persona and show himself that’s when I saw the magic between this couple.

As always, you’ll run into familiar faces in Marietta, Montana and that is one of the many things that keep me returning again and again to this small town. I simply love it there. Don ‘t be a Valentine’s Day Grinch, go pick up Valentine’s at the Graff and enjoy a lovely romance and maybe a renewed faith in people.

*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*

I am truly enjoying this series centred around the Graff - for those of us who began reading the Marietta books early on the Graff is a special place! Miranda and Witt - what can I say? Opposites truly attract. Witt was so socially unaware and so wounded by his childhood and misunderstandings of his place in his family after his mom’s death and Miranda always knew she was the odd girl out in her family but forged her own path with a kind heart and hard work. That the two of them come together over his young and struggling cousin is so sweet. Adored this story!

I found Valentine’s at the Graff by Jayne Sinclair, book four in the Holiday at the Graff series, a sweet, warm and wonderful story that I really enjoyed. Miranda Evans loved living in Marietta, helping out her grandparents and finding a place where she fits in. She just opened a gift boutique in the historic Graff Hotel that would feature local artists, food and wine. Miranda decides to involve the community in random acts of kindness to celebrate February, the month of love. Miranda has had little time to find love, at least until her high school crush arrives back in Marietta more handsome and out of her reach. Orthopedic surgeon Whitman Telford left town right after high school graduation without planning to return. He resents being told to fill in for a month at Marietta’s hospital before he could work at his dream job in LA. Somehow after getting sucked into the Valentine project along with half the town, Witt starts to wonder if he will still want to see Marietta in his rearview mirror. Miranda shows Wilt that there’s so much more to life than what he anticipated and expected. These two opposites need to decide if a romance might be too much to take a chance on or what they really need.

I enjoyed reading this story. Ms. Sinclair is an excellent storyteller, keeping me interested in this story so that I had trouble putting it down. I highly recommend this outstanding book to other readers and look forward to the next book in the series.

OMG! Sinclair Jayne gets better and better! I may have mentioned that before but seriously, this lady can write and not only that, she has an amazing imagination as well.
In Valentine’s Day At The Graff, she has taken what can at times seem like a purely commercial event and reminded her readers that this day actually provides everybody with a fantastic reminder of just how important love is, and that showing your love for somebody else doesn’t have to be about commercialism at all.
Miranda and Witt couldn’t be more opposite in their outlooks on life. Although Miranda comes from a family of high achievers she looks for the best in people and gives generously of herself whenever the opportunity presents itself. Her idea of using Valentine’s Day as the impetus for a paying it forward and random acts of kindness campaign encapsulates her approach to life.
Wit is the result of a relationship his highly successful mother spent his early childhood telling him was a huge mistake. He’s been trained to believe that hard work, financial, academic and career success is what life is all about and he’s spent most of his life looking down on his cowboy father, even though that father took him in when his mother died and tried to show Wit the importance of family.
Miranda grows on Wit from the first moment he meets her as an adult - she’s had a huge crush on him throughout school though he doesn’t recognise her when they first meet. I love the way her warm and generous spirit slowly breaks down his walls. I love the way she has him questioning everything he ever held dear, and I love the way their story unfolds. This sweet romance is perfect for the truly romantic among us. It has tears and laughs and smiles and really isn’t that what Valentine’s Day is all about?

Valentine's at the Graff is a sweet and gentle loving with a whirlwind woman who loves wholeheartedly and generously. Miranda is in love - with Marietta, with life, with Witt Telford, and with being in love. And it shows. She's always thinking about how to make things better, how to add love to everything she does.

Witt's thinking about how to get back out of Marietta was fast as he can. He's a fish out of water and never wanted to go there or go back there in the first place. But he gets caught up in the whirlwind that is Miranda and then suddenly finds himself caught up in his estranged family's drama. When he has to take care of his young, fish out of water cousin who is suddenly thrust into the same situation he was in as a child, he starts seeing things differently. And when he discovers some hometruths later, Witt knows exactly what he needs - and wants - to do.

This is a sweet and almost spiritual quality to this story that is very touching. And the ending is just the icing on the cake.
