Good story about the vampire's existence influence the societies while the human government still in control. Young naive girl willing to do whatever it takes to help her family by working with the powerful vampire company, Visage, against their better judgement. Little bit slow in characters' development though

This was a little different than your average vampire book. The world has collapsed and vampires are basically in control. However there are two types...ones who want to control and ones who want balance.

There are systems in place for humans to be tested to be matched with the right vampire. When they arent... well it isn't pretty. But for Becks and Reyna things are a lot more than sharing blood.

It's a deadly cliffhanger and will leave you wanting more. I enjoyed it and can't wait for more.

A PNR from the woman who brought us the avoiding series!!!????
Its near impossible to switch genres so fluidly and easily as this book was done. It does not read like any of her other works.. which I think is her strength in this novel. This feels like a new author, a new voice a new story.
This is a paranormal book for people unsure if they would enjoy the genre. This book is filled with suspense, questions, plot twists and a romantic vibe.
At the end of the book.. my questions have questions! .. how refreshing a sentence.

This book is a telling of vampires rising to the top of humanity by using blood donors to supply them with blood. The new wave of this donor system is a live in blood supply like a pet. And I love the main characters and side characters. Everyone seems to really open up and develop as the story continues. Some develop into people you for sure hate and some you are unsure of their end character and end game. This is a real case of Who is Who, who can you trust.. and who dun it!

A savior, a sponsor and a vampire that refuses to feed of her “his perfect blood type match”.

This is my first read by K.A. Linde and definitely will not be my last- I need more Beckham and Reyna.

What a fabulous concept the author has here! Blood donors to vampires but ran by a corporation, Visage.

Desperate to get her family out of a financial hole, Reyna signs up and finds herself blood escort to Beckham, VP of Visage.

30% in and I had so many questions, what was his deal? Was something sinister going on? Why did I suddenly think of Pretty Woman when Reyna called him Becks? My random thoughts scare me sometimes too!

Thrust into a world she wasnt born into, I really felt for Reyna. And that dark, broody Beckham is a tease but oh so delish!

There was action and drama and it was a really enjoyable read. However there was 1 part that felt rushed and maybe a bit eye rolly, maybe it was just me, I don't know.

But saying that, I can't wait for part 2 after that bombshell of an ending!

I was intrigued when I read the synopsis of this story. I did finish the book in one day but I have mixed feelings about it.

Reyna annoyed me. Yes, she did. She demanded a lot which placed herself in uncomfortable situations because she didn't listen. She is confusing. She kept pushing Beckham and once he finally gives in, she calls him monster. What the hell!!!

I was not that surprised with the ending but I don't know if I would want to read the sequel.

This book is something completely out of my normal book reading habits and I think that is what had me so intrigued. I was hooked from page one. I was desperate to know more about Becks and this intriguing world KA Linde created. I can't wait for book 2 and to see what happens next.

From the first page of this book, I couldn't stop reading, hours upon hours of reading.  Reyna is strong, loving, caring and will do anything, seriously anything, to help her brothers. Living in a, some might say a dystopian world, a world and government essentially ruled by Vampire's she's desperate to help.  She's signed up to be a "donor" for Visage but is given the opportunity to have a permanent sponsor.  She will make twice as much money as she thought, donating Blood to Beckham, a higher up at Visage.

Beckham isn't the most welcoming man, but he has his moments of sweetness with Reyna.  Reyna finds herself in precarious situations (a lot) and Beck is the one who gets her out of the dangerous situations, he is concerned for her safety, but he's also the man whose company is ruling the world, he's often dismissive to Reya which confused her immensely. Reyna often finds herself wanting to hate him, but just can't. Everything is not what it always seems.

For the PNR reading, this book is you can sink your teeth right into (pun intended) and for my non-PNR readers - this book, just might be the one to change your mind forever.  There is suspense, angst (of course), so hotness (of course), hot vampires, bad ass heroine and honesty within these pages that you will also be hooked the moment you begin.

Beware - there is a book two (and three), so there is a bit of a cliffhanger, but it's going to be so worth the wait!

Ok - So I have said this a few times when writing reviews for PNR books - I DON'T READ PNR...but I think I need to officially abandon that statement forever.  A certain friend, you know who you are, strongly suggested a read a series a few years ago (The Dark Light Series by SL Jennings), and holy shitballs, I fell in love.  Then, the same person suggested I read Sylvain Reynard's The Florentine Series, and again - she was so freaking right. So NOW, I am going to say to this friend...OMG, get to reading Blood Type by K.A. Linde because I am hooked.  I have been a K.A. Linde fan from 2012 when she released Avoiding Commitment - one of the angstiest series I have ever read!

I thought the mix of vampire and dystopia was really interesting. I really liked the world.

What a unique take on the classic vampire and human love story! I was thoroughly engaged throughout the entire book and actually stayed up into the wee hours of the night to get to the end. For someone who is not a night owl, this is huge! When a book keeps me up at night, you know that it's got that special sauce that makes it a must-read for book addicts.

For her, it's an opportunity to support herself and her brothers, and when she is brought on to a special program that means she stays with the same vampire permanently, it's hard to pass up double the salary. She's soon swapping jeans and a t-shirt for a short dress and heels, and while the glamorous life isn't for her, she is increasingly drawn to her vampire sponsor, Beckham Anderson. While his cold demeanor is belied by his increasing concern for her safety, the biggest mystery of all is the fact that he won't drink her blood. Not one drop. So now the only question is - what does a girl do when she falls in love with the one man who will never love her back?

Reyna and Beckham...*sigh*...the angst, the witty banter, the passionate embraces. I couldn't get enough! Yes, their romance had a lot of drama, and it took awhile for the kinks, so to speak, to be ironed out. But the road to love was a wild ride that I never wanted to end! There was so much passion between them, and the chemistry was just exploding off the pages. As the story progressed, I fell in love with Beckham alongside Reyna, and as his true character became clear, I really felt empathy for him. Reyna was a great match, as she didn't take any crap from him at all, and he clearly respected her ability to stay strong in the face of so much change and conflict. Was there some disrespect on the part of Beckham? Yes. Were there some juvenile reactions on the part of Reyna? Yes. But the true beauty in their relationship was how they resolved things. They kept getting reeled back in, and each time that happened, their bond became stronger.

This book ended on a cliffhanger, folks, so be warned! Thankfully the next book is not far off, and I am dying to get my hands on it. This is the start to an amazing new series!

Overall Blood Type was an enjoyable paranormal read. It reads like Twilight fanfic though. With vampire Becks, who doesn't actually drinks Reyna's (our heroine) blood, despite the fact that her blood smells and tastes extra sweet and extra special. There were some other aspects that reminded me of Twilight. I liked the writing style and was interested enough in the story but found main characters not very likeable. I do like alpha heroes when they are done right but Beck's was more jerk than alpha, and Reyna was a typical damsel in distress.

Blood Type was a quick read that did satisfy my craving for a paranormal romance but didn't leave a lasting impression. Also the book ends on a cliffhanger but at least we don't have to wait very long for the next installment.

KA Linde is one of my favorite authors. For me, she’s right up there with Colleen Hoover. All of her books end up on my keeper shelf.

In her latest book, Blood Type, Linde creates a dystopian society ruled by vampires. An economic collapse has left the humans living in poverty. The only humans that thrive have put themselves in service to the vampires (usually as a blood donor).

The heroine, Reyna, is tired of living in poverty. There’s no money for school and she can’t even find a job. She’s supported by her two older brothers who work at a warehouse. She wants to make life better for herself and her family so she volunteers to be a blood donor for a vampire. The hero, Beckham, is a rich and mysterious vampire who becomes Reyna’s “sponsor.”

I really struggled with this review because I am a huge KA Linde fan. But, sadly, this book was just not for me. I’m more of a contemporary romance girl and I like my alpha heros of the human variety. Thank god, Beckham didn’t sparkle in the sunlight though. I was worried about that when I heard this was a vampire story.

I do think that if you like paranormal stories, especially ones that revolve around vampires, that you should try this book. As far as vampire romances go, it has a unique plot. I think that Linde put a lot of time and energy into the details.

YEE! A new great PNR. This time vampires, vampires, vampires. I'm ALL about it. Tie in a broody, asshole of a hero who has a big heart underneath? I'm sold.

Told from our heroine Reyna's POV, we're thrust into a dystopian world in which people not only know about vampires, but with the economy being in such shambles, find their only way to make sufficient income is to work as blood donors for them.

With two brothers working to keep a roof over their heads in the factories, she realizes that without the means to get a college education, she needs to contribute and help her family. She goes to work as a subject for the vampires, but is offered a permanent position for double the pay. Not one to turn down a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, despite still being afraid of what will happen to her, she accepts and is matched with Beckham.

Beckham is a powerful (and rich) vampire. He gives her everything she could ever ask for, but after a week, he still hasn't fed from her. The other vampires he associates with, though, openly feed from their pets and Reyna realizes that Beckham might be the only sane one amid this league of professionals. He's tender when no one is looking, and protects her.

Soon, the politics behind Beckham's company begin to take off and things are getting dangerous. Reyna makes some insane realizations, not only about the people around her, but also about her own feelings toward Beckham and his feelings toward her.

This has suspense, angst and a world in which a human and vampire working together might be their city's only hope.

This is book 1 of the Blood Type series, and I can't wait to continue. It's ends on a crazy cliffhanger and I'm going to be dying to figure out what happens next.

I like paranormal romance, I like vampire romance, I love human vampire romance like it's my j-o-b, so you'd think Blood Type would be right up my alley. Unfortunately something just didn't work for me. I believed the attraction, I believed the sexual chemistry, but I couldn't believe that Reyna and Beckham knew enough about one another to make them fall in love. They barely spoke for 99% of the story, how in the world did they fall in love? I would have been happier with that development in their relationship in book two of the series.

The world building and vampire lore are enticing. I can see how this could go somewhere good as the story fleshes itself out. But it's not there so far.

Love vampire's. This was a really good read. Reyna gives up everything to become a blood donor to a powerful vampire.

I love Vampire stories, like, love them and so I was super excited to dive into this one.
It starts with Reyna at a blood bank in a world that is post some sort of apocalyptic tragedy, Vampires are free and roaming and in places of power, humans are either working for them, as a personal blood supply or living in poverty, think hunger games. Reyna desperate to start paying her way after years of her brothers taking care of her goes to the top company in the world run by vampires to be a 'blood whore'. She thinks, work for a few years as a feeding bag for wealthy vamps and make enough to get her brothers out of poverty and then she can leave. Easy.
Until they start a new program that has her indefinatly with one vamp boss, who just so happens to be the VP of the company,Beckham.
Beckham was probably the only thing that kept me reading...he was brooding and powerful and fearful and sexy, but also an enigma. He believed int he new program, but didn't take in Reyna to feed from her.....
Reyna on the other hand at first came off as this strong female who wanted to help but the more I read the more she regressed into a whiny teenager.
From doing things to deliberately disobey 'Beks" (Hated that nickname BTW) to whining about him NOT feeding from her.
The ending was predictable and honestly if the male lead had been anywhere near as weak as the female read I'm not sure I would have been able to finish this book.
The writing was good but the story was not for me.

This PNR is set in a time where the economic gap between the rich and the poor is wider than ever, and vampires pretty much hold all of the power.
There is definitely some heat to the romance of this story, and I liked the chemistry between Reyna and Beckham. I enjoyed the blood type matching twist to vampirism and the futuristic vibe. The character development and storyline, while a little slow at times, has certainly set us readers up to be on the edge of our seat, ready for the second book in the series. I can’t wait to see what’s next for Becks and Reyna.

So I was really in the mood for a paranormal romance so this felt like the perfect book. A few things to note off the bat...

1) This is in 3rd POV.
2) It's only told from Reyna's POV which threw me off.
3) Cliff-f*cKing-hanger! which really aren't my jam.

But. I was immediately drawn into the story. I really liked Reyna and I loved broody Beckham. I craved their scenes together and loved the growth of their relationship. And the sex scenes were hot, hot, hot! The world Linde created was so fascinating and I can not wait to read more of this series. Like, really, I need it now because while I was expecting the cliffy, I need to know what happens next!

I love to read romances of all tropes and genres, but I have a certain weakness for paranormal romances as they were my first loves. Authors like J.R. Ward and Laurell K. Hamilton fill my bookshelves among others, and now I have a new name to add to that list. K.A. Linde has wowed me with her expertly written and intriguing paranormal world. Blood Type grabbed my attention and held it, okay maybe a certain vampire did that, but Linde's words didn't hurt.

Reyna will do anything to help take care of the only family she has left, even become a permanent blood bag for one of the wealthiest vamps in the city. But working with Visage and living with one of its senior members proves to be almost more than she can handle. As secrets slowly reveal themselves, she needs to make a choice between her new life and her old. But did she ever really have a choice to begin with?

Becks. Rooftop. <- Unforgettable scene and one of my favorites! That one and the one in The Vault! Holy Hotness that man, er I mean vampire has been in every single one of my fantasies since I finished this book! I love Beckham and Reyna, their chemistry and irritating banter drove me crazy but also endeared them to me even more.

This was a predictable paranormal romance with some unpredictable twists. Yep I'm very clear on what happens right?! Haha! Let's just say that I thought I had what was going on straight and I was part right and part very very wrong and I loved that! K.A. Linde was a brand new author for me but after reading this I am anxious to get my hands on more of her words, specifically Blood Match because anyone who knows me knows patience is not my strong suit!! I need the next book now! If you like paranormal romance even just a little bit you will not be disappointed with this book!

Blood Type by K.A. Linde is a peak into a future , alternate world. The world is rich with detail and variety. It portrays a wealthy upper class that has literally taken over. You see and feel the ramifications of this new control. It reveals slowly allowing the story and the relationship to develop around and through the the reveal.
