Oh wow, color me intrigued! Vampires are my absolute favorite paranormal beings to read about, there's just something about them that's so alluring and erotic. And the new take on the vampire world had me completely hooked on Blood Type.

With K.A. Linde being one of the authors that I'll absolutely read anything from, I was more than elated once I heard she had a new paranormal series coming out. So I was definitely on board before even knowing what the series would be about. Just like Reyna, we're learning more about this world of being blood escort right alongside with her. She was very naive about the world she lived in, but she did what she could to stop being such a burden to her brothers. I completely admired how selfless she was and I was constantly rooting for someone to truly appreciate her for the person that she is.

And all eyes were staring right at the vampire extraordinaire that is Beckham Anderson. I'd like to describe him as a nice and cold, shiny rock. It was a mystery for a while about why he decided to take on Reyna as his blood escort, but she was definitely treated more like a paid roommate. Their conversations were little and there was no telling what he actually thought about her. However, some of his actions towards Reyna's whereabouts and well-being showed you that he actually cared more about her than we thought. But it just makes it hard for us to love him because he has this hot and cold persona going on. And it's quite the sight when he finally opens up to Reyna!

It's a bit of an action-packed journey as Reyna tries to figure out what the heck is going on in the world of being a blood escort. The cliffhanger is a killer, but I don't care. I'm completely invested in this series and can't wait to see how everything will end!

Holy cow...this was an amazing read. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. This was different than any other vampire book and I LOVED IT. I loved the plot and the characters were well written. I can't wait to read the next book!

I have been craving a good vampire romance lately, so when I saw that KA Linde was coming out with a new paranormal romance series, I was all for it. I couldn't wait to dive into a world of vampires and mayhem.

Reyna Carpenter has spent years feeling useless as her brothers work themselves to the bone every day to provide for the family. Because of the way society has fallen since the vampires have risen in power, it's been impossible for Reyna to go to college, which means it's impossible for her to get any sort of job. Feeling desperate, Reyna signs up to be a part of the humans who serve the wealthy, elite vampires. When she's assigned to Beckham Anderson, she finds herself in a world of luxury, danger, and a whole lot of mystery.

When this book started, I was really intrigued by the world Reyna was living in. Vampires were of the wealthy, upper-crust section of society and Reyna was going to have to be the personal blood supply for a wealthy vampire in order for her to make the money her family so desperately needs. The dynamics of the society was very interesting and I appreciated how I hadn't read a vampire book like that before. When it came to the relationship and the secrets the characters had, I was a bit let down. The secrets/plot twists that came at the end were very predictable and I found myself just moving through the story to get through the end.

As for the romance, I was not as intrigued with Beckham as I think the author wanted me to be. Like I said before, his character was pretty predictable, especially behind why he was so dark and brooding and dangerous around Reyna. There were some pretty random things thrown in that Beckham and Reyna have to do together and the plot didn't really flow as seamlessly as I would have liked. There was a lot this book was trying to be and I don't think it achieved what it set out to.

Overall, this was a unique vampire novel, but I think it was too predictable for my taste. I did enjoy Reyna's character and how she was pushed into a world that had scared her and that she knew nothing about. From the beginning, though, I knew exactly who to trust, who not to trust, and the secrets most of the characters were hiding. I'm not sure if I want to pick up book two when it comes out, but this one was just an okay read for me.

I really wanted to enjoy this book fully but there were some inconsistencies and things that were dropped throughout. I love KA and her writing style, that is never an issue. What was was that it was set up to be like a dystopian wasteland with vampires. What I did love was that her vampires were different in a way that I loved, they had needs and they did what was needed to survive, I can respect that. I am hoping some of the issues with this book do not continue thru to the next.

This one didn't work for me. I felt no connection to the hero at all. And I didn't like how certain story lines played out. Decided not to review at the blog.

When I read this book I did so solely on my love for the author. Her Wright Series speaks to me. I had NO idea this was a paranormal book. I do not normally have a yearning to read vampire books but I pushed on since it was an author I enjoy. Blood Type, being the first in the series it had a whole world to set up. This is always a long and detailed process but I feel here it was done with as much ease as possible. Learning about Reyna and her family and their struggles helped you realize her need to go to Visage and become a blood escort. I aisles felt like the reader learns so much about Beckhams world through Reyna's eyes. She is a bit immature at her age but that could come along with not being exposed to a sophisticated world of power and money. Beckham is a normal rich, powerful alpha-male (just the kind of hero I adore). I love the slow burn but I wouldn't have minded this one to move a little quicker. I really enjoyed this story, especially since it isn't my normal genre. I wish I would have known about the cliffhanger as when books end like this one did with so many unanswered questions I tend to read the series at one sitting. But I will have no qualms about a fun reread before the next one is published.

OMG!! Now is this a paranormal romance that everyone needs to read!!

I have REALLY high standards when it comes to paranormal romances, especially when vampires are involved. I was definitely a bit leery going into this because of the standards I have. K.A. smashed those standards for me. The world she has created is so unique and unlike anything I have read before.

Blood Type is set in a world where vampires and humans co-exist together. It's almost like a post-apocalyptic world where everyone is trying to find their place in the world after it went to shit. However, it's vampires that are taking control and not zombies. And they are trying to make things better for all, humans and vampires. But when one is in control of the other, the battle of wills is bound to happen. And not everyone has the same endgame.

Reyna is at the point in her life where she feels that she has become a burden to her brothers. No one wants to hire her because she does not have a college education and she can't afford to go to college. That leaves with her one option, becoming a blood escort to the vampire elite.

Reyna is assigned to none other than Beckham Anderson. Beckham is one of top members and one that Reyna finds both terrifying and alluring. He's an enigma to her because he won't feed off her yet she hears stories of how people fear him.

" 'Oh Little One, this world will kill the goodness left within your beating heart.'
'But it will not break me.'
'No,' he agreed. He leaned his head into her hard and drew a deep breath. 'I will do that' "

K.A. blew me away with this book and how everything plays out. This book is written in third POV, which is not my favorite, but I will admit, that I found myself drowning in this book and forgetting about all about that. K.A. did a great job with writing in this perspective; I feel it actually worked best with this story as were able to understand everything from all angles. I was able to figure out a few things, but in no way did that take away from this story. If anything, it just added to the hype of this book and all the excitement I was experiencing. It's been quite some time that I felt this exhilaration for a paranormal book.

These characters are perfectly written. Reyna is a strong heroine in our own right, who also questions herself like anyone else would in her position. But she's not a pushover and stands up for herself. I love that she has no problems going against the norm. And Becks, that man. He definitely had me going back and forth on him. I have my opinions on some other characters that play an intricate role in this series and I will just leave it at that because I do not want to give anything else away.

If you love paranormal reads, you MUST read this book.

If paranormal reads aren't your typical style, you still MUST read this.

If you love, angsty, suspenseful and dramatic reads, you MUST read this.

I may have dipped my toes in to start, but I was immediately diving head first in after the first few sentences of this book. I never once wanted to take a breath and stop reading. And I really need book 2, NOW!!

I recently finished watching Penny Dreadful and I was in the mood to read a vampire romance, so I was looking through my blog library and I found Blood Type. I figured that if I wasn’t feeling it that I would just come back to it later and continue on my book hunt. As soon as I started reading though, Blood Type pulled me in and I was into it so much that I almost decided to stay up until I finished it. And that’s where everything got tricky because I’m at that time when I’m very irritable and things that don’t usually bother me, bother me. And Blood Type has unfortunately been a causality in my highly annoying irrational state and I hate that because it truly is an excellent book and if I had read it at a different time, I would probably feel differently about it.

I don’t always read synopses when I get a book by an author I’ve read and liked before, so I can’t say for sure whether I forgot or just didn’t know that the three books in the series were all Beckham and Reyna’s stories. I can’t say I was thrilled when I found out or rediscovered that, but at that initial moment, I couldn’t wait until I would be able to read the next two books. I was still excited to finish Blood Type, but I did decide to take a break from it because it was frustrating me. I came back to it one book later and I was so glad that I did and then that cliffhanger drove me crazy and brought all that annoying crazy irrational anger flooding back.

The second half of Blood Type wasn’t as enjoyable for me as the first, but I truly did enjoy it. Blood Type was fascinating, intriguing, and surprisingly realistic for a paranormal romance which is not to say that they can’t be realistic, but they’re usually not of the norm, so I thought that was particularly impressive. In the end, I’m glad that I read and finished it and while that cliffhanger didn’t put me in the best mood, I’m not upset that I have some time to wait before I read Blood Match which I am definitely going to read.

Blood Type is the first book in the Blood Type series, it’s only told from Reyna’s POV, and it will leave you wanting more.

Wow! This book pulls you in from the very first page. Reyna found a way to help her brothers and stop living a mesirable existence. Life was a struggle with hardly any food and a home that should have been condemned. Accepting her new position she’s not prepared for everything she has been denied her whole life. Confused she tries to be the best employee she can be but those lines begin to blur. Did she make the best choice or will her brother’s fears become her new reality? Great start to a new series and the first time I have read this author! You can feel Reyna’s hope and desolation as she strives to achieve more for herself and the ones she loves.

I love me some vampires. It’s been many years since I’ve found a good vampire book that catches and keeps my interest. Until now. My god. I could not put this book down. I stayed up entirely way too late because I HAD to finish it.

Despite her dire circumstances and basically signing her life away, Reyna doesn’t lose her fire, her spirit. She stands up for herself and her beliefs, even in the face of dangerous and intimidating vampires.

And one of those vampires is Beckham. I certainly had a love/hate thing going on for him. He was so hot and cold. Half the time I wanted to swoon right into his arms, the other half I wanted to stab him. LOL!!! He has his reasons, so don’t hate on him too much. He definitely redeems himself in the end.

Despite Beckham’s I want you/I don’t want you attitude, the chemistry between him and Reyna is undeniable. The sexual tension between them is strung so tight that I found myself practically vibrating with excitement for Beckham to finally snap. And oh my lord was it good when he did finally let go.

The plot is unique and will keep you glued to your seat until you finish. And yes, this book ends in a pretty epic cliffhanger, like O. M. F. G. epic. But thankfully book 2 will be out relatively soon.

Blood Type has some great potential to become a GREAT series. It started off strong, but it did feel a little predictable and overdone towards the last half. But I am intrigued to learn more about this new world and the characters KA Linde has created.

I enjoyed this book and it was the first one I have picked up from this author. I found the story interesting and the characters were engaging...although sometimes frustrating. I am looking forward to the next book of this series to see what happens next for these two. If you're looking for a paranormal with romance and vampires, check this one out.

I enjoyed the twist on this vampire tale. I liked the premise of vampires becoming somewhat more refined and using blood matches who willing provide the blood and what the human/vampire relations are like. You could never be sure who was friend or foe with these characters, but the storyline kept me intrigued and definitely wanting to see what happens next.

I love this author and I have to admit, was hesitant to read a vampire romance. But, this book did NOT disappoint.! Reyna was a strong-willed lead, who was willing to do anything to make the most out of her life situation. Beckham was the ultimate alpha-male who you essentially dislike at first and then as you delve deeper in to the storyline, you can see the good in him shining through. I cannot WAIT to read the next book in this series to get all of my questions answered (and mostly, find out if they get their happy ending!)

Oh wow.... where do I start. I really enjoyed this book. It was different. I don’t often read paranormal. It’s just not my thing but I wanted to step out of my box a little. I had been hearing about this book and decided to give it a try. Right from the beginning this book sucked me in!

I liked how this book played out. How being a vampire was out in the open. How the world had changed. How humans became food for the vampires. Just the politics of a human/vampire coexistence. The whole dynamic of the whole new world. Where there was a definite upper and lower class.

Reyna fell in the dirt poor class. She became a blood escort for Visage.. This vampire company the was becoming the company that was ruling the world. It paid their blood escorts well. And being in the position Reyna was in. And seeing her brothers struggle. Reyna wanted to help her brothers out. They were taking extra shifts to get a little extra money to help put food on the table and put a roof over their heads. But it always never enough.
She wanted to make life easier for her brothers. So she went behind their backs and got a job as an blood escort.

She was paired with Beckham a high raking official within the company that hired her. He was totally disinterested in her. He was super mean.
This is where I started to struggle with their dynamic/relationship. Beckham and Reyna were so up and down. Mostly because of Beckham. It was hard to read for me. For a good chunk of the book Beckham strings Reyna along. He gave her just a little and pulled away. And Reyna kept letting things go. And we never got anything back from Reyna arguing with Beckham. It always felt like more should’ve been said. But I hated how everything just dropped and moved on.

When Penelope was introduced in the book. I was pretty shocked. It kinda explained a lot. But I was so upset for Reyna. Because Beckham was a jerk when Penelope was around and definitely gave Reyna mixed signals.
The part that had me so upset in this book was the Vault scene. What Beckham did with Penelope in front of Reyna was so wrong.
But as you read on you finally get some answer. I think we should’ve gotten some answers earlier in the book. Because once we get them. The book ends in a cliffhanger.

Another thing that got to me was Reyna. Everything that could’ve happened to her did happened to her once she walked out and went somewhere. She never made the right decision in the heat of the moment. But at the same time I loved when she stood up for what she thought was right. And when she was confronting Beckham with his attitude. It was just seeing the conversation through that got to me with her.

Overall this was a good read and I can’t wait to see how Book 2 plays out! The way this book left off has me on pins and needles! I’m all in!

I couldn’t finish it. I gave up about 70 pages in. Reyna is one of the most irritating characters I’ve ever read that makes ridiculously stupid decisions, and “Becks” was boring. I’ve never read a Vampires book, where the Vampire was the boring part...never. There was no chemistry between the two and I was not plowing forward to wait for it. The world building was interesting and I would have enjoyed learning further about that, but I could not get into it. I tried.

Blood Type introduces us to Reyna Carpenter. A young woman from the poor side of town who sees the only opportunity to help herself and her brothers is to go to work for a company that offers people with blood type matches to vampires. Reyna comes in at an opportune time. They are starting a new program where the blood escort is a permanent pair with the vampire instead of rotating out every few months. It is double the pay and Reyna can’t pass that up. She just happens to be a blood match to one of the higher executives of Visage.

Reyna is young and is not as aware of what goes on in the city. So when her new boss moves her into his penthouse, then leaves her on her own, Reyna starts finding her way around the city. Beckham is Reyna’s boss, but she is confused because he doesn’t seem to want to feed off of her, and that is what she is there for. He is so hot and cold he confuses Reyna. He acts like he wants her, but then treats her so distantly. Then I find I’m reading what is turning out to be a love triangle. The emotional ups and downs that come with a love triangle can be quite trying.

There is a lot of back and forth throughout the book. We take one step forward and two steps back. Just when we think we are going to have Reyna and Becks get together or that they are going to make progress something goes wrong.

Thankfully the story does not completely revolve around the romance. There is the whole conspiracy Visage is planning and the danger they pose. There are plot twists that I didn’t see coming and the ending totally took me by surprise! It kind of ends with a cliff hanger. Also not one of my favorite things. However, I am VERY anxious to see what happens in this world and with Reyna and Beckham. Just when things seem complicated, they become even MORE complicated!

Blood Type’s world and challenges keep you reading wanting to know more. Especially when you get hit with one of the many surprises. It was an enjoyable read and can’t wait for Blood Match for more!

I have read many books by K.A. Linde and going into this one, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. Sometimes, when you read books about vampires, lets me honest, sometimes they are little creepy. Beckham is10 just HOT! This book has everything that one is looking for when it comes to an amazing book. This is one of those books that you DO NOT START at night when you are trying to go to bed, because you will stay up and keep telling yourself you are only going to read one more chapter, 10 chapters later, its 3am and you have to sleep! I would definitely recommend this book!!

I’ve been waiting for a great new Paranormal series for what feels like years! Paranormal Romance has always been my go to genre. It’s where my love of reading started and where I always find myself drifting back too. It’s been a really long time since I found a new series to start and a really long time since I’ve enjoyed a Vampire book as much as the Sookie Stackhouse, Guild Hunters and Night Huntress Series!

Blood Type was my first K.A. Linde book and the first in her new paranormal trilogy. As soon as I read the blurb I was intrigued with the premise and couldn’t wait to see what direction this story took. Set in the future where Vampires essentially rule the world, Blood Type is written in the POV of Reyna Carpenter, our female protagonist. Reyna is a 21 year old living with her 2 older brothers and trying to find not only a way to survive but a way to live. Blood Type begins with Reyna making one of the hardest decisions of her life.

Eric Northman was my first Vampiric love and Beckham Anderson is sitting not too far behind him when it comes to Paranormal Romance. Beckham has your typical vampiric qualities, possessive, controlling & secretive. All my favourite things!

Reading Blood Type, you could tell it was the beginning of a series. It left you with so many questions and only a couple of answers that resulted in even more questions. The pace of the story was quite quick and probably faster paced than most contemporary romance novels but I find that the faster pace always works in the Paranormal genre. There’s always so much world building involved that you need to grasp which speeds up relationship building.

The world building for Blood Type was very well written and easy to keep track of. It was a really great straight forward concept that didn’t end up convoluted like some world building can.

Beckham and Reyna have a very complicated relationship which feels very much one sided during the first 70% of Blood Type but worked really well to develop the plot and Reyna’s development. It created a lot of secrecy on Beckham’s side which kept me turning pages as fast as I could.

I really enjoyed reading Blood Type, it was definitely a building book for the characters and plot and I’m super excited to see what happens next for Reyna, Beckham and all those sneaky side characters that made some interesting and troubling appearances! I’m a sucker for a good cliffhanger and Blood Type gave me that goose bump inducing, sitting on the edge of my seat feeling and left me desperate for Blood Match. I think I’m going to be stuck in that suspenseful feeling I love until it hits my Kindle!

Blood Type was a suspenseful 4.5 star read and the wait for Blood Match is going to be a crazy ride.
