I am such a HUGE K.A. Linde fan!!! So much so that I am on her ARC team. So, since I am on her ARC team, I received Blood Type. I need to let you know that since I am on her team, I reached out to her personally and let her know that this was so not the book for me! I am not a paranormal fan at all. I think that it is an acquired taste for sure. Unfortunately, unless it is the BDB series by J.R. Ward, I can’t read it. It messes with my head. I know, I know, that sounds strange. I just can’t. So, thank you for the opportunity to try K.A. Linde’s new series. I so wish I could have gotten into it.

* Because I was unable to finish this book, I will not be leaving a review on my blog's social media sites as well as any retail vendors sites. That would be unfair to K.A. Linde and her work.

A fab start to a new PNR 3 book series here from K.A. Linde, I haven't read any of her previous books but I do love a good PNR read, and that's exactly what you get here!!

Set in a dystopian type world with humans and vampires living together, but there is a lot of poverty and poor people, mainly humans, while the vampires are the rich ones, running a company where humans agree to donate their blood and are type matched to provide blood 24/7, known as blood escorts, and are paid for their services.

Reyna lives with her two brothers, who work all the hours they can in a factory to make ends meet. She feels a burden to them and goes to enroll as a blood escort to earn her way. She is matched in a new type of program where she lives with the vampire. Beckham is wealthy, powerful and gorgeous to boot, but doesn't seem interested in drinking from her at all!

This had me hooked within the first few pages!! The world set up is cleverly done and I really liked the political aspect that is also involved in this storyline, it adds a whole new layer to the story rather just vamps and feeding! I liked both the main characters while at the same time they both annoyed me a various parts in the story, which makes for a good story line!! There's a lot of suspense and angst in the plot, trying to work out just who are the good guys and who are the bad guys here.

Of course, Vamps and sexual chemistry go hand in hand - Reyna and Beckham are no different, their chemistry is smoking hot, but Beckham does his utmost best to resist Reyna at all costs, turning up the tension!

This was a really good read, I thoroughly enjoyed it, but be warned book 1 does end in a cliff hanger that will have you cussing - I can't wait for book 2 to come out, I need to know what happens next. Highly recommended reading.

Ugh - where to begin?! This was un-put-down-able. HOT. Edge of your seat read. KA Linde has a way with words that suck you in, chew you up, make your insides mush, then spits you back out. Absolutely canNOT wait for the rest of the series! 5/5

OMG! You have to buy this book! Yes, it is a requirement! Blood Type is a stay up all night long read. A page-turning, blood-pumping, oh-no-he/she didn't read. As I lay awake reading I tried hard not to wake up my husband by the little noises I was making as each scene unfolded before my eyes.

Now before you ask what noises was I making or what was I doing, let me keep this part rated G. This is a suspense novel afterall. I kept thinking I knew what was going to happen, but those of you who may actually follow my reviews know I suck at guessing, or the authors are that good. This time is was a little bit of both.

Linde has brought vampires to us in a way that is both captivating and extremely frightening. It reminds me of one of my favorite television shows, Colony, but instead of Alien's in power, Linde has vampires in power. There are just one or two other comparisons I could make to the show and then they are vastly different. One thing they both have in common, those in power want to stay in power and will do anything to remain in power. But at the same time, humanity and love can be found in the most unlikely of places if you trust your instincts.

Linde does a terrific job of keeping the reader hooked, as I stated, up until the very end. I love flove Reyna! I swear she is actually me in a younger, well-toned body. Although I don't scream in a fight or flight situation. Beckham renewed my wish for that dark, handsome vampire to whisk me away to his place and have his wicked way with me. Maybe it's time to re-watch some True Blood episodes. Only instead of Sookie and Bill, I'll be thinking of Reyna and Beckham.

4.5 Stars not a flat 4 Stars SO I was missing the actual connection/chemistry between Beckham and Reyna throughout most of the book. Reyna was a bit whinny even though she volunteered for service. And Beckham was pretty much a douche for most of the story. With all that being said I still NEED to get my hands on the next book!! I need to know what happens and why things are happening!!

This specific video review will be included in the April 2018 wrap-up.

I am still reeling after reading this!!! I am still thinking about these characters after I have finished reading. Blood Type is an intense read filled with political and government intrigue, with some intense romance.... a definite page-turner. The world building is imaginative and believable. And the characters... Wow, the characters! K.A. has created characters with intense and complex personalities.

The setting itself varied from place to place. The various locations of the city contrasted starkly against the decadent vampire community of the richThe way K.A. described these locations created an atmosphere of desperation and hard.ship, and in other locations, hedonistic and ostentatious. It's pretty obvious throughout the book that which locations had these qualities. K.A.'s details of these locations even made me cringe... 😨

The story's pace flowed evenly, but of course, it had it's intense moments. I couldn't stop turning the pages, except when I fell asleep... Haha!! But, I got so wrapped up in Beckham and Reyna's story, I just couldn't stop reading. The interesting twist comes at the end... Yup, at the end!!! A freakin' cliffhanger! Well, it is to me, but this cliffhanger did reveal a lot where questions came up throughout the story. Blood Type had an espionage feel to it that created that suspesne/mystery feel. Gah!!! Now I have to wait for the next book... 😩

I find myself fascinated by the world that K.A. Linde is building in her new paranormal romance, BLOOD TYPE. The reader is immediately thrust into this new world, a world where vampires and humans coexist, although not always peacefully. The class divide is startling, and much of society lives in poverty, which leads to Reyna’s life-changing decision. The entry into this world is jarring for the reader, as we’re not given any backstory as to how or why the society has become what it is, but for me, that is one of the strengths of this novel, the way it immediately has the reader absorbed and invested into the WHY of it all.

I will admit that the first half of this story did stall for me a bit, with a lot of repetitive situations that became tiresome, but the air of mystery that surrounds this vampire society compelled me to keep reading, desperate to know more.

However, the second half of the book really takes off, and K.A. Linde delves deep into vampire politics, and how that is entwined with the current government, and what all of that means for vampires and humans alike. My favorite part of vampire novels is their society and structure of their race, so this had me excited and kept me turning the pages.

If I’m being honest, I struggled with Reyna’s character, while I was taken in my Beckham’s aloof persona. I am excited to get deeper into their relationship, however. There is still so much to explore between them. There was some serious chemistry between the two, and I’m looking forward to some explosive scenes in the future. The secondary characters are strong, and I’m excited to see their arcs throughout the rest of this series.

At the end of this story, I found myself shaking my kindle, hoping more words would fall out. K.A. Linde has definitely drawn me into this new world and I can’t wait to see what she brings to us in BLOOD MATCH. I not only want to know more, I NEED to.

I love love love paranormal books. I will say this author is not a usual favorite of mine, however, this book gained my attention from another author's gushings. So I thought, hey, I'll give it a go, its vampires!
Holy wow, this book is so different from the usual vampire books in the pnr genre. And that is what I really enjoyed about it. Its angsty and twisty and so different. I can't wait for the rest of the books in the series! But I want to know WHY IS REYNA SO SPECIAL?! What is it about this woman that has all of the male vampires on edge and totally smitten with her? Give me more!!

This is the first book I've read by K.A.Linde but OMG it def won't be the last , as a seasoned PNR reader this had everything you could want. Mean, brooding, and wealthy vampire, a woman willing to do anything for the family she loves, even if that means being a walking food bank for said vampire. Hot scenes that will have you panting for more, a "predictable" story that swerves & what you think you knew you realize you didn't, love a good twist or two. I can't wait for next book..

Reyna is desperate. She knows that continuing to stay with her brothers is just hindering their lives. She is unable to get a job without an education and she can’t get an education because she is too poor. This is why she has decided to work for Visage. In a world where vampires are real and becoming a permanent blood provider is a very lucrative job, Reyna sees no other option than to become one. What she doesn’t count on is being paired permanently to Beckham, a VP at Visage. Their attraction is complex but can they ever really feel for one another? When one is food and the other her employer what future can their be?
I adored this book. I was hooked from the first chapter. Reyna and Beckham are such complicated characters. They come from different sides of the tracks and can’t see how they would ever be truly attracted to one another. Add in the paranormal element of vampires and what a world would look like if they had all the power and money. This book is truly a complex story, not just a paranormal romance. K.A Linde has such a way of building a world that is relatable and realistic. The reader can really feel themselves being placed there. Blood Type is one of the best paranormal romances that I have read in quite a while. I’ve never felt the levels in a paranormal story the way K.A Linde has written Blood Type. You get action, paranormal, social commentary and of course, romance. This may be K.A Linde’s first paranormal romance but it sure doesn’t feel that way. I can’t wait to get my greedy hands on the next book. This is a guaranteed hit for all paranormal romance fans!

Beckham now consumes my thoughts!! GAH! I love him so much. Blood Type is thrilling, sexy, and completely addictive.

I honestly had no idea what I was getting into. I went in blind and then absolutely DEVOURED this book. I seriously couldn’t put it down. It had all the angst and drama I’ve come to expect and adore from K.A. Linde, but with a deadlier and more suspenseful twist.

I CANNOT WAIT for the next book. I’m looking forward to sinking my teeth into more Beckham!

4.25 STARS

Blood Type by KA Linde was a great read!

I have read and loved every single novel written by KA Linde. When I first heard she was writing a paranormal romance series, I was skeptical. I am not the biggest fan of these types of reads. Well... after reading KA's series, I can say that my tastes have changed. Mrs. Linde has won me over. Blood Type was amazing, as are the other books in the series.

Reyna and Beckham are two characters who will draw you in. They will get your attention almost immediately, and keep your attention throughout the entire novel. You never know what to expect next, or where the story is going to go. Will they get a happily ever after ending? Will they kill each other first? Who knows? I guess you'll have to pick up the novel to find out!

I cannot wait to see where this story is going to go next. I know that I will definitely be picking it up.

5/5 Stars!

A strange new world but love still exists…
Or does it? This new world is harsh. Post-apocalyptic, in fact. The rich are very rich and the poor are struggling just to survive.
Reyna acts so selflessly as she sacrifices her own freedom for that of her family’s. She’s scared but needs to do this for herself, for her brothers. Being indentured to a wealthy, connected vampire is a brand new experience for her and Beckham is not what she expected. At all.
“The only thing that was really very clear was that Beckham Anderson was a complete and total asshole.”
And Beckham so was. Aloof. Standoffish. Hard to understand him when he didn’t want to talk, didn’t want to connect with the one thing Reyna was there for. That didn’t mean he wsn’t generous in other ways. He was. He just had some definite ideas about safety, security and Reyna’s place in his life. If only she could understand what that was…
The back and forth between them was the story as Reyna, repeatedly, pushed the boundaries Beckham set. I didn’t get a real feel for his character until later as he started to open up more and his feelings became clearer. Good thing because he really was jerky. Often. The story definitely gained momentum as the foundation was set and their relationship started to build.
A bit of a slow beginning but by the end of the book I was totally lost in the Visage world of the future. The last few scenes amped up the intrigue and the stomach-in-your-throat ending has me jonesing for the next in the series…

Oh, please give me a broody sexy vamp like Beckham over a sparkly high school vamp any day. That’s not to say there is anything wrong with the latter – I enjoyed the books – but there is something a little more daring, a little needier, a little darker about this book that makes the pulse run a bit faster.

Reyna and Beckham’s relationship is frustrating, restrained and just, well, completely and utterly distracting. The undercurrent of tethered desire, the surprising betrayal and the cliffhanger ending all combine to make this a deliciously diverting read. I can’t wait for the next in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

This was a quick and easy read. At times I was a little confused about what was going on and why but overall I would recommend this book.

I knew from the beginning that the book was going to end with a cliffhanger and I thought I knew how it would end, but I was wrong. Everything is a mess and I worry about every single thing. I hope that things will be alright in the next book and there will be a united front made from Becks and Ryan. I cannot say much because I might accidentally spoil the story for ya.

The last few sentences explain a lot of things that happened previously in the story and at the time didn't make any sense and they set up the plot for the second book.

Becks is an unusual character and he might be a hit or miss. He is cold. Like Reyna, I only got glimpses of who he truly was and only late in the book we found out who he truly was. Still, I was drawn to him and I liked him. I wanna see more of the man behind the mask. Reyna has both bad and good qualities. Some times she is weak and others she is kicking arse. She stood up foe herself once in a while. I liked her. She's only the only person who tells the story. So we get to see the world for the first time as she does.

The book is not very paranormal-y, so the people who don't like the genre won't have a problem with it and both parties can enjoy the book.

Wow. I mean, wow. I know that the reviews are split when it comes to this book, but holy buckets, i absolutely fell in love with this book. 2018 seems to be the year that paranormal and science fiction romances are coming back full force and delivering something new and fresh, and i for one am all up in that!

K.A. Linde isn't a new author - i've read quite a few of her books by now, namely her Wright Brothers series, and i truly do love her writing style. It's entertaining, captivating and a thrill to really get lost into her stories. While the Wright Brothers series were Contemporary romances, Blood Type was my first paranormal by her and the way that it was delivered - absolutely amazing.

I really wanted to know more. Think of the movie In Time (with Justin Timberlake) and True Blood series (starting at season 7 when the vampires match up with humans to protect them from other infected vampires) - while there were similarities of both movie and series, Blood Type was really different from any other book i may have read in the past. I enjoyed getting to know Reyna and how fiercely loyal she is to her family members and the ones she cares about, but i also enjoyed the nuances of who Beckham is. I'm curious in finding out more about Reyna, why vampires think her blood is special, as well as Beckham's history.

There's just something about these two that draws me in like a moth to a flame - their story is fascinating to the point where i spend entirely too much time reading and not enough on doing the dishes or sleeping. There's no denying the fact that i'll be looking forward to the next instalments to this series in the future because let's face it - i'm hooked on these two and i really need to know what their destiny is.

This is the first book in an exciting new paranormal romance series that I have been dying to read!!

I’ve been a fan of this author for quite a while now and I’m also a huge fan of paranormal romance stories. So when I saw that this author was going for it and writing an entire paranormal romance series, about vampires no less, I jumped on the opportunity to read and review this one! I’m so glad that I did too, since this is now hands down one of my favorite books written by this author and I’ve already preordered the next two books that are coming in this highly addictive series!

The entire situation between Beckham and Reyna is definitely frustrating to say the least and the back and forth between them had me wanting to throw my kindle across the room on more than one occasion! I loved the whole idea of the business relationship between vampires and humans and if vampires actually did exist, I could see this being how things would actually be. I can honestly say that I’d offer myself up for that kind of situation in a second. Each time Beckham rejected Reyna, it added another layer of tension to this story that made me appreciate it all the more and by the end of this one I was unable to put my kindle down until I had read every last page!

When you reach the point where you try to take your kindle into the shower with you because you’re that into a book, you know that the author has done their job and done it well. And this book got me to that point and then some! I can’t wait to read the rest of this amazing series and I’m so glad that I was lucky enough to stumble across this one! I highly recommend reading everything by this author, but especially this great story, to anyone.

I wasn't really sure what to think of this author writing a paranormal romance, but she left me wanting more. It's been awhile since I've read a book with a vampire and I was impressed. Beckham is definitely a vampire I would want to meet. The world in this book isn't the greatest, the fact that you have to become a blood escort to really even make a living is really sad. There is so much poverty. It's really sad. This book wasn't just about romance, but with a lot of politics as well. Besides the relationship growing between Beckham and Reyna, there is a lot going on. They want to make a blood consensus. That seems like a big impact on privacy. While it seeems like Beckham is all for everything, there is a lot more going on. I definitely wouldn't want to visit The Vault. The only reason Reyna is doing this is to help her brothers. I wish we would've seen more of them. Who knows? Maybe we will in the next book. Most of the book is building to something, but the last part is non stop action. This book had me on the edge of my seat wanting more! I knew it would end with a cliffhanger, but that was not what I was expecting. If you like romance, with some politics and soms twists, this is definitely a book for you!

“Everyone is corrupt. Everyone is broken.”
“I’m not,” she whispered.
“Oh Little One, this world will kill the goodness left within your beating heart.”
“But it will not break me.”
“No,” he agreed. He leaned his head into her hair and drew a deep breath. “I will do that.”

We are paranormal readers at heart, it’s always been one of our favourite genres. If you’re like us in that respect then you’ll know what we mean when we say Blood Type was pure old school paranormal and we are so incredibly excited about this. Nostalgia eat your heart out, this is just what we needed and have been missing. Now whilst it felt old school there was no mistaking this for something we’d read before, rather it was a unique and original concept with passion, suspense and intrigue.

‘She wanted to make something of herself. One day she would. Every journey begins with one step. Hers began with this one. ‘

KA Linde slowly built a world of humans and vampires living alongside each other knowingly yet with a deep seated resentment brewing in the background. The affluent vampires living it up and the humans struggling in poverty. The vampires are without question in control but in the shadows a rebellion is brewing. Just who is betraying who and what truly lies behind the intentions of the Visage?

‘She wanted more. She craved him like an addict craved the next hit. She didn’t know what he did to her, but when they got like this, she didn’t care. It didn’t matter how infuriating he was, she was caught up in the whirlwind of their desires.’

Reyna our naïve and sometimes slightly frustrating heroine is trying to make life better for her two brothers as well as herself. Living in the slums with little to no escape she decides to sign up to become a blood donor at the prestigious company Visage which proclaims to serve the sole purpose of acting as a blood bank for vampires in order to stamp out -a literal blood bath- and also to match up vampire to human of the same blood group which prevents unnecessary violent reactions. Little does Reyna know that her blood means she’s matched to a very powerful vampire and not only that, she’s signing up to become his own personal blood escort.

“So that’s it? You said you’d never kiss me again…and now you have.”
“A mistake,” he said callously. “Your emotions run high, and they send my…baser instincts into overdrive.”
“It couldn’t be that you’re a man desiring a woman?”
“No. It is an animal enjoying the hunt. The monster within struggling to get out. Nothing more.”

Beckham Anderson is an enigma. Affluent, secretive, aloof, superior and seriously frustrating but an oh so wonderfully lush and delicious brooding vampire who is clearly hiding what and who he truly is. There’s a steel wall encasing the heart and mind of our controlling vampire. Whilst there’s bouts of caring, attraction and protectiveness displayed he’s still an insufferable arsehole, but a lovable arsehole nonetheless.

“Come back.”
“What?”
“Come back….Stay with me.”
“Why? So you can keep stringing me along?”
“No, because with me is where you belong.”

This first book in a three book series was brilliantly written and a great introduction to a story we found to be immediately addictive. It was fast paced story wise yet the romantic element almost slow burn. Even though book one was push pull – back and forth we understood why and enjoyed that this aspect felt almost secondary to an evolving storyline of the inequality between vampires and humans and the fight that’s brewing just beneath the surface. A mystery is unravelling and we cannot wait to discover what truly lies beneath.
