This is definitely a great, summer thriller perfect for a vacation. It is not the type of thriller that requires much deep thought or concentration and is perfect for that escape that we often want when picking up a book. I was engaged and interested in what happened...but at the same time I felt the story was not particularly unique and definitely a book where I found myself frustrate with the main characters. But I enjoyed the concept of the reality of long-term friends growing apart, having arguments, and trying to reconnect. I can't say I was specifically emotionally attached to any of the one friends, but the depiction of their friendship was definitely relatable. And how adult female friends deal with one another's disagreements, losses, etc. Overall, I enjoyed it but it didn't blow my mind.

Girls' Night Out é um livro interessante. Dentre todas as três personagens principais, Ashley é a menos carismática.

Three friends head for a girls’ trip to Tulum, Mexico to try and repair their fractured friendships. They have been friends for years but recently Ashley and Lauren have been estranged after a massive fight and Natalie has not been in contact with Lauren either. As they gather in Tulum they have a hard time reconnecting with old hurts and animosities coming between them. They also have not been completely honest with each other about the lives they each are living. The book details the present and also goes back to the past so we get a clearer understanding of each character. Near the end of the trip Natalie wakes up alone and confused one morning on the beach. She has no idea how she got there. She races back to her room to find that Ashley is missing. Lauren also has no idea where Ashley is and they are alarmed that Natalie has no memory of how she came to be on the beach and very little memory of the whole previous evening. With Natalie’s memory spotty they head out to look for Ashley. They soon realize the situation is more grave than they thought and they call in the police. If you have ever been to Mexico or a beach vacation this setting takes you right back there. The writing is so vibrant and descriptive! As we go back and forth between the present and the past it becomes apparent that Ashley may have had reasons to disappear, but is that what happened? This book is also a cautionary tale about travelling to different countries where the laws are more vague and the type of behaviour you exhibit there should be prudent. This is especially true for women. The basis of this book is about friendship but there is a great mystery here too. I was fully immersed in the book and couldn’t stop reading once I started. Another great book by these authors.

The different perspectives and timelines that make up this story helps to build the suspense and put pieces of the puzzle into their place so that at the end you go AHA or even Hmmm. Well-written dynamic characters and a crafty plot make this an unforgettable story.

This was a hard one. The first night I picked it up, I couldn’t put it down. But then, halfway through, it was just the same conversations and arguments over and over and over again. The same thoughts. The same commentary. The end picked back up and became exciting again.

This book definitely was not what I expected. I really thought this would be a lighter read than it turned out to be. I have to admit, it kind of left me feeling a little sad for all of the characters.

I think the authors did a good job of making the characters relatable in their flaws, even if the storyline was a little not really completely believable. The way they explored the personal relationships I could really relate to somewhat, although the circumstances of the characters was more to the extreme.

I am not really sure how I feel after reading this book. I think it left me just really kind of sad, but for me, a good book is one that will leave me thinking about it for a while after reading it.

I really enjoyed the multiple points of view and the alternating timelines in this book. It was very cleverly written - and you didn't know what had happened until right up to the end! I particularly enjoyed the twist - Ashley really was selfish right up to the end!

I also enjoyed the end where Lisa and Liz explained in the acknowledgements section that this book almost broke their own relationship.

Overall, I really enjoyed this suspense novel and would recommend.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC.

This was a fun, fast=paced thriller that I enjoyed as much as the authors' previous book. I would recommend this to someone looking for a fast beach read.

This book is about 3 old friends on vacation in Tulum, Mexico and one of the friends goes missing. A suspenseful story filled with drama about the complicated, toxic relationships between 3 friends who are trying to reconnect with each other. It was an enjoyable, fast beach read. I read this book in one day. I gave this book 4 stars rather than 5 stars because the ending of the book did not wow me.

This took so long to read. It was repetitive and drawn out. All three women were unlikeable. Some of the scenarios with Marco were not believable. It would have been better if the women were college age. I wanted an explosive oh my god! Ending. It fell flat.

This is another excellent book by the writing team of Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke. They have their writing fingers on the pulse of what makes a great thriller and this did not disappoint.
This is the story of three women who have been friends for 20 years. They decide to have a girls get a way with drinks and lots of catching up. As the margaritas flow some tempers ignite but overall they feel their strong friendships remain. They all fall asleep and wake with massive hangovers to one missing friend. What proceeds through the disappearance is told through all three of their perspectives.
I found this a riveting read that I could not part with until the last page ! The writing is so excellent and fast paced I enjoyed it from beginning to end. A excellent thriller. Well done to the authors !
I highly recommend this book to all readers who enjoy strong female friendship stories, a good thriller and a mystery.
I loved it !

Girls' Night Out is about three estranged friends: Ashley, Natalie, and Lauren. A year has passed and they are all hopeful that a girls getaway may help them to heal old wounds. The girls head off to Tulum, Mexico and everything seems to be going accordingly...until one night Natalie wakes up soaking wet on the beach. Hungover and with no recollection of what happens she goes off to find Ashley and Lauren to help her put the pieces back together. She is able to find Lauren but Ashley is no where to be seen.

If you are looking for a quick, easy mystery read then this is it! The relationship between the three friends was relatable and as the reader you see their friendship unravel as the story unfolds. Secrets and truths are revealed.

I felt connected to each character - maybe not at first but as the story progressed and their secrets came to the surface I felt more and more connected to each of them. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more by these wonderfully talented ladies!

Girls’ Night Out is the story of three friends who are on a trip to Mexico and one goes missing. The story goes back and forth between before and after the disappearance and alternates viewpoints between the three women. We also learn about the women’s complicated relationship involving past circumstances.

I don’t have a lot to say, because I didn’t feel like there was much substance to this. The women were super annoying and petty and it seemed like they were out only for themselves. I honestly was wondering why they were friends at all because they didn’t act like they cared about each other. They also did some really stupid things on their Mexico trip. The ending was ok for me but there was no “aha” moment or unexpected twist. Not my favorite read.

Many thanks to Netgalley, Lake Union Publishing, Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke for providing me with a complimentary e-copy ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was a gripping, smart thriller centered on adult female relationships that left me with an unbelievable desire for a margarita. Part of what I believe made Girls’ Night Out such a good read was the focus on female friendships and how they change over a lifetime which is something that I didn’t know that I needed from a story until now.

One downfall of this novel was the jumping of perspectives happened a little bit too often before I actually really got to grips with the different characters which kind of threw the flow slightly, and even though the experiences of the women were all different, their voices had a similarity to them – which does happen when people are friends for 20 years!

Overall, this would be a wonderful beach read, or by the fire in the middle of a cold winter when you are dreaming of Mexico.

I had high hopes for this book going in but unfortunately, I found it to be just meh. It's an easy story about three very annoying friends who travel a long way to discover that they don't really like each other very much.

LOVED this one! I could totally see it being a movie! After drifting apart following a major rift, lifelong besties Natalie, Ashley and Lauren take a girls' trip to Tulum to reconnect and try to repair their fractured friendships. Even though the girls are in paradise, buried secrets threaten to tear them apart even further as tensions run high and the alcohol flows. When Ashley disappears after a girls' night out, Lauren and Nat have to piece together the night before and figure out what happened to their best friend. Did she run off with the hot guy she met at yoga? Get kidnapped? Leave her old life behind to start over? Was she murdered?

Alternating between the present where Natalie and Lauren are retracing their steps and the past as we learn more about what each girl is hiding, this page-turner really kept me guessing. I was fascinated by the psychological aspects to it all and was heartbroken as the narrative shifted from POV to POV, revealing what each girl is thinking and some of the motivations behind their actions. The storytelling was so honest and true to how pride can create distance between us and those we love, destroying our relationships. Much like life, everything is not as it seems, especially in relationships. HIGHLY recommend this one! (And seriously... needs to be a movie, stat!)
