I’m kind of sad this book is over... it was an intriguing read, that I kept trying to find as many opportunities as possible to sneak a chapter in throughout my day.

I enjoyed the peaks and valleys of the relationships in this book, and instantly wanted to read more!

I received an ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

These two authors are the perfect duo to write a fun beach read! They successfully did it last year with The Good Widow, a novel that I also loved. This book is told from the three points of view and with alternating timelines. Three old friends travel to Mexico and one of them goes missing. The alternating POVs and timelines let all the secrets be released slowly. This is a novel that I found myself rushing through just to know the ending. I'm also swayed to loving a book when I love the setting and Mexico doesn't disappoint. 4 big stars!
Thank you to Netgalley for an ARC of this novel in exchange for an unbiased review.

I enjoyed going to know these girls but I was disappointed in the ending and would have liked to know what happened to Marco. The story kept alternating between different timelines and I got confused at times.

Everything I expected from a novel by Liz Fenton and Lisa Steinke!
The suspense was anticipated, the reveal, not.
I highly recommend this book.

Get ready to be sucked right in to this story of three girlfriends hoping to restart their friendships with a weekend away in Mexico. We meet Lauren, Natalie, and Ashley when they are each at a crossroads in their lives. The three girlfriends need to decide if they should move on from each other or try to keep this friendship going. Switching between each of the three friends' viewpoints with the timeline going back and forth between before and after Ashley goes missing, this suspenseful story will grab you from the opening chapter and won't let go until the twist at the end. Liz and Lisa are master story weavers and they don't disappoint with Girls' Night Out. With excellent timing and skillful suspense they hit you with an 'ah ha!' chapter after an 'uh oh!' chapter and you will be biting your nails until the very end waiting for the other shoe to drop.

I received an Advanced Review Copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

I liked this one but the ending felt unresolved to me. I kinda felt cheated out of of knowing what was going to happen to Lauren and Natalie along with Ashley's family. Plus I would of loved to have seen what would of happened if they would of found Marco.

Girls’ Night Out started off intriguing and I was drawn into the lives of these three friends and their secrets and troubling past. I was turning those pages as fast as I could but I soon got weary of being drawn into their consent resentment for each other and things from their past and the bickening between them.

The tension does increase as Natalie and Lauren search for answers as to what happened the night their friend Ashley disappears. The drama also increases and unfortunately for me I didn’t really find anything interesting in the dynamics between these friends. The pace started to slow down for and my focus for the story just wasn’t there.

Thank you to Netgalley and Lake Union Press for a copy to read and review.

I'm late to the Liz Fenton & Lisa Steinke party - I discovered their books this summer and devoured them. I was super excited about Girls' Night Out. The book not only lived up to my expectations, it exceeded. Impossible to put down! True page turner. Characters that you care about and hate a the same time. LOVED!

This was a quick and easy read but it was predictable with a plot that wasn't all that unbelievable but also not very exciting. The ending was a bit of a disappointment in that it was less "thriller" and more just an accident that could happen to anyone. The characters were fairly well developed with the exception of Lauren who could have used more fleshing out. Overall this was an enjoyable read but it could have been better.

A big thank you to the publisher for letting me review this ARC! I really enjoyed the plot. I wanted to keep reading to see if all my theories were right. (They weren't!) The only thing I didn't really like about the book were the characters. The three main characters seemed juvenile. Their dialogue read like women much younger than 40, but don't let that deter you. It's still definitely worth a read if you enjoy a good mystery and more than one POV.

2.5 stars. I did like this story being told from different point of views and the time jumps. I think with out it, the story would have fell flat. My biggest complaint is that I couldn't stand the characters. They were 3 women that were spoiled, selfish, and just whined about themselves the whole time. Not enjoyable.

I’ll admit that it took me almost 2 months to read this book. I started it before release day hoping to finish it quickly but I grew bored with it. I kept having to push myself to read it, kept putting it away to read other books. In that almost 2 months, I only read 44%. But a friend encouraged me to finish it. She told me that it picked up and was really good. So tonight, within about 3 hours, I read the remaining 56% and finished the book. At about 80% I was starting to feel a little let down, things were not going how I had suspected them. But man, those last couple plot twists made up for it! This book made me cry, my heart was breaking for the characters. It was such a raw showing of how skewed our lives and relationships can become. When I read the last paragraph, my heart broke a little more and my jaw dropped. I was very skeptical about this book but now I am glad I finished it. I would classify this book as more of a slow burning thriller as opposed to a regular thriller or suspense. I must say though, I greatly enjoyed it and will be on the lookout for other books from these authors.

One of my favorite books ever! I am still thinking about it. I love this mystery/suspense route Fenton & Steinke took. It is so well-written. The twists and turns with the suspense of trying to figure out what happened to Ashley kept me on my toes. Down to the very last paragraph, this book completely held me and surprised me. I was completely taken and continue to think about it, looking at women as well as friends differently all due to this book! I absolutely loved this book and cannot say enough good or give enough stars!!! Thank you, NetGalley and Lake Union Publishing!!!

Girls' Night Out A Novelby Liz Fenton; Lisa Steinke A beautiful, haunting story of friendship and what happens when that friendship is put to the test. A must-read for women of all ages!!! The author and Netgally should be proud of themselves for producing this work of fiction. This book made me love my best friend a little more after reading this because this because while this was a great thriller it made me sad for the friendships in these pages. You will feel like you are reading two stories that come together so well and you will want to know how these woman’s lives are alone and the secrets between them are intermixed. Ashley, Natalie, and Lauren have traveled all the way to Tulum, Mexico in hopes of rekindling their previous friendships. The book opens in present time. Natalie awakens the morning of their last day in Mexico. She panics when she realizes she’s not in her hotel bed. She’s not in any bed. She is outside the hotel, on the beach alone. Natalie’s memory is black in spots and she goes on a search for the other girls. She goes to Ashley’s room everything is there but Ashley……. She continues to Lauren’s room and they come to the conclusion that Ashley is gone. Did she go willingly, was she kidnapped?? What has happened and why is Lauren the only one unfazed? The book flips between all three women’s prospective. There were times that I wish the book slowed down a bit so I could keep the facts straight but once you get a feel for the set-up of the book then you will find that this book is a fun read. I will say that I expected a light read because of the title but what I got was an adventure with a little bit of mystery. A four-star read for me will be reading more from these ladies for sure.

I apologize for the delay in posting this.

I am a huge fan of Liz and Lisa - have been since their first novel, and they continue to create page turning novels that keep you up well past your bedtime!

Girls' Night Out is a winner! It is so hard to believe two individuals are writing this book as it flows so seamlessly from page to page, chapter. If you are in for a thriller, that will make you feel like you are right there in Tulum with the main characters, this is the book for you!

Job well done! Can't wait to read what ever comes next from Liz and Lisa!

Told from three points of view by three women, Ashley, Natalie and Lauren, the story follows their vacation to Mexico and the subsequent disappearance of one of them: Ashley. As they struggle to put together clues, they also begin to doubt one another and the suspicion and dread threatens to consume them. With nothing to go on but hazy memories from a cocktail-filled evening on the beach, their work is cut out for them. But what really happened and who knows more than she's saying?

Recommended.
