This was such a cute modern day Cinderella story. Ellie returns to claim her place in her father's life. Before she can do that, there is a lot of clean up she needs to do. Nico has been running his family business since his father passed away. The deal with Castle Department stores can help restore their past glory. When the two meet there is an instant connection. Although she is hiding something, Nico can't help but want to get to know the real her. Even once he figures everything out he gives her the time and space to fill him in when she is ready. This is an example of how a gentleman waits for his soulmate and has faith in a happy ending. Loved this story.

They both have a goal to endure their legacies continue to thrive. Ellie has waited patiently to return home and uncover what her stepmother is doing to her families business. Something doesn’t seem right and she is there to find her father that has been strangely silent for so many years. Nico reluctantly assumed control of his father’s fashion empire after his death. Bringing it back from the brink of bankruptcy he is looking for the one person who would represent his company new advertising campaign. Will Ellie’s secrets be uncovered before she gets everything she wants accomplished? Such a fun story! Loved it.

A delightful take on the Cinderella story with a modern twist. The characters were quite realistic, the dialog smooth, guiding you quickly through the story. As far as HEA's go, this one was pretty satisfying, leaving the door for the next story in the series.

This ARC book was complimentary, provided by the Publisher and NetGalley. I am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Eleanor Castle has returned to Dallas and the department store that she once roamed as a child with her mother and father. After her mother passed away her father married quickly and her step mother used her teen years to drive a wedge between her and her father. Leaving for college and not being home for 14 years she has degrees in criminal science and is now the head of security at the once proud department store that is being destroyed by her step mother. Nico Lamon was born to an Italian father and a Texas mother. His father once top of the line shoe line has fallen on tough times and now after his passing he has step up to take over the company and to hopefully rise it back to the top. Now with an agreement with Castle department store for a shoe promotion they are doing a shoe fitting. The problem is that now women for that evening has been able to fit into the shoe. After all of the people with tickets have been gone Nico asks for the women in red to try on the shoe. Not wanting to but giving in Eleanor gives in, and the shoe fits. What no one knows is that she is working undercover this is her first night and immediately someone announces a robbery of jewels. Off shoe goes like a modern day Cinderella the only difference is that she catches the thief but tells the man who is her second in charge to take the credit and that she will see him tomorrow. Now the rest of the book is her trying to find out about her father, and what type of things her step mother is doing to lower the profits of the store, and Nico working at getting her to go out with him and also enjoying all of the different changes she does each day of her appearance. A good story and that was a quick read. I did like the two main characters very much.

This is a sweet story with a spin on the Cinderella tale. The story is set in Texas and captures the big personalities Texans tend to have. Undercover Princess is the first book in a new series and left me eagerly awaiting the next book. I will definitely be looking for more books written by Lenora Worth.

So this is sort of a modern retelling of Cinderella.

Eleanor Castle, after being away for 14 years, is back at Castle Department store that her family owns, but not as the heiress, she's undercover as head of security. Not only to reclaim what's hers from her evil stepmother but also to save her ailing father. But then there's Nico. A man she once had crush on. A man who, like her, is also trying to save a family's business, and to do that she needs the perfect woman to wear the Valentine's shoes he personally designed and be the spokesperson of their fashion line. The moment he looked at Eleanor, or whatever name she's using, he knew she's "The One".

I think this is too corny for me. Too cheesy. Don't get me wrong I love fairytale retellings, even modern retellings, with some twists. But this one just didn't do it for me. I did like that she was undercover, and that Nico was too eager to get her. But other than that I didn't find anything interesting in the story, and with the character.
So just three stars... I didn't really enjoy it or loved it but I don't have much complain either. This was an easy read. :)

Enjoyed reading Nico and Ellie’s love story. Ellie is on a mission and doesn’t need Nico as a distraction from her goal. Nico is instantly attracted to Ellie and his determination to discover her secrets and convince her that wants her. Recommended read. Engaging read

4.25* What an adorable read this one was! Fashion Cinderella? Modern Cinderella – from the beginning of this book all I could think of was Cinderella though this one was much more woman in charge and man doing the chasing (granted Cinderella ran right). I felt like perhaps Nico was a bit needy (insta love strikes again) but that didn’t deter me from liking the story one bit (one star less for insta love).

Eleanor was such a take charge personality and that was super refreshing in most romance novels the woman is timid and shy and needy for the man but this was extremely opposite! Did I mention I love that??

I definitely recommend this read it’s both adorable and has enough action to make a great story.

Think all the fun and heart of Cinderella... and put it in the fashion world. Good clean fun and the beginning of a new series.

A retelling of Cinderella in a modern day fairy tale, with a Nico looking for his soulmate.
For me the last half of the book was where it got charming and I was wishing for more, maybe if I were more into fashion I would have been more into the first part of the story.

Ellie is back and ready to take the "kindom" back from non other then her step mother only problem is she has to prove something is amiss and not get caught. Biggest question is who can she trust? Nico will stop at nothing to save his families company but finding the right spokesperson is whats on the agenda when she up and disappears he knows he will stop at nothing to find her I mean how hard can that be right.

I loved this book I loved everything about it, well expect the end..... However that being said I know this is the first book of a series and I am hoping as the books go on there will be more to come from Nico and Ellie. I loved how this relationship was not all wrapped around sex, I found it refreshing. I can honestly say I don't think I read one curse word in this book either making it a good clean fun read. I felt like the author had a way of getting to the heart of the reader. You really feel like you wanted to know where she was going and how it was all going to line up. I really enjoyed the sub characters and I want to know more. I am excited to read this book and more to come. If you are looking for a fun, lighthearted story with a very, very strong female character then grab this book you will not be disappointed. Oh so good

I loved this book! I started this book at 11 pm and finished it before I went to bed. Worth introduces Ellie and Nico and a stron supporting cast in this modern take on Cinderella. What a refreshingly fun, quick read! Looking forward to the next book in the series.

This is a delightful story loosely based on the Cinderella fairytale: a shoe discarded, a prince searching for a young woman in hiding. All in a modern day setting with glamour, glitz, and romance. At the heart of the story is a crime involving the evil stepmother and it is more than just locking Cinderella away in her room.
It is an easy to read, fun and engaging story and one of the Castles of Dallas book series. I am looking forward to the next chapter in this set.

There was not a lot of suspense to the story because it was clear from the get go who the good and bad folks were. You wondered a bit about Aiden and Annabelle but never Nico. And I’m glad we got to see Lila through Eleanor’s eyes and not just Nico’s. Nonetheless it was a fun and fast read and I’m looking forward to Annabelle’s and Aiden’s stories with more on how Eleanor and Nico navigate their future between Dallas and Italy.
