This is a fairly short easy read and is the 1st book in the Dragon Shifter's Mates series. Abandoned by her mother at age 14, Ren is now 21 years old and opens the locket left by her mother. She is then kidnapped by 4 alpha shifters and finds she is a the last dragon shifter known to exist. Fans of Trinity Blacio will love this series . Very sensual and steamy. Characters are believable and story line is plausible.

I love a good shifter book. (I have read a lot) Dragon shifters are still pretty new to me but I find that I enjoy them and I really enjoyed this one.

This book is told in multiple points of view and I think that this is necessary.

I liked Ren, she is a strong female lead that has survived hard times and I liked the way that the story developed, from Ren wanting to celebrate her 21st Birthday, instead she is to discover that unbeknown to her she is a Dragon shifter, not only a Dragon shifter, but the last one. As a child Ren’s mother had taken her memories and in time she disappeared .

Ren doesn’t only have to master her shift she also has to mate with the alphas of the 4 shifter groups ( wolf, bear, jaguar, and eagle) to unite the shifters!

There is a threat to Ren, who as a Dragon shifter has enemies and they don’t intend to let the shifter survive.

This isn’t the only reverse harem book that I have read recently some do it well, others not so much! This one manages to fall on the right side between smut and steamy by including emotional as well as physical interactions and feelings.

This book evidently has more to follow. It will be interesting to see how the story develops.

Dragon Shifters oh my Dragon shifters. I enjoyed this story and it was a treat to read. Interesting story concept. Overall a well-written story. First I've read by Ms. Chase and not the last

I have been very into reverse harem fiction lately and while this is not the best of what I have read recently in that genre it is still quite enjoyable and a fun escape. I really like the characters and I feel like they are fairly well fleshed out and he story holds my interest. I like the fact that the guys are all different shifters as this helps to differentiate them from each other in my mind. I am reviewing this book based on an ARC received from NetGalley in exchange for an honest opinion.

I was initially hesitant about this book because of the male harem aspect which doesn't hold much intrinsic appeal for me. However, I reminded myself that Laurell K Hamilton writes about such relationships (and I'm a huge fan) so I decided to give it a chance. I'm so glad I did. I enjoyed this book immensely. Each of the four alpha mates were attractive, each in their own way. The plotting was well-paced and overall, the book was well-written. I look forward to more books in this series.

Thank you to Net Galley for providing me with an arc in exchange for my honest review.

Definitely not my normal cuppa! This was the first 'reverse harem' book I've read, labelled as such. Any who have read Laurel K Hamilton's books have already more than a big dose of this subgenre. Overall, I quite enjoyed the story.

Serenity aka Ren is the last born dragon shifter. Unfortunately for her, she doesn't remember this unique legacy; since she was a child, her mother buried her memories and then disappeared. It's not until her 21st birthday, and an ill-fated meeting in a bar, when the lock on her past starts to be opened.

Along with the news of her unique heritage, Ren also learns that she's got some serious responsibilities. As the last born dragon shifter, it's her duty to follow the tradition that makes her the mate of the four male alphas (jaguar, wolf, eagle, and bear). It doesn't hurt that they're all handsome, but it starts to quickly become clear that not all of them are psyched about their entangled future.

I liked the mysterious aspect to Ren's past, and I think that the author did a good job of gradually revealing more about where Ren came from. Once she's back amongst "her kind", the memories start to surface, and she learns why her mom buried her memories.

Chase tries to make the book into multiple perspectives- not just Ren's. This means the reader gets an insider view into the thoughts and feelings of Ren's potential mates as well as the leading lady herself. As the first book, I think this is moderately successful. On the surface, it seems like there's distinction between the men's voices, and I think it will just take more time for their personalities to really solidify into separate entities. The drawback to that many points of view is that you only get limited experience with each person's mind.

Overall, the story was interesting enough that I'd pick up the second installment. It's left at a cliff hanger where I'd like to know what comes next for them in terms of finding Ren's mother, but also what comes next for the potential romance between Ren and her prospective mates.

3.5 stars

I thought this was an interesting take on shifter politics and mating. I liked that Serenity was unaware of who she was and that she was so down to earth. I also liked her vulnerability with the guys. She came across as interesting but relatable was well.

The guys themselves were an interesting mix. I liked that each brought a different element of alpha to the mix. Lets face it I have a soft spot for West and I think it will be interesting to see how she progresses with him and the others.

Aaron and Nate were the edible protectors/teacher aspect ad I liked that Aaron didn't expect her to belike anything and that her was so open to her being who she was.

I did find it odd that as a group of Alpha males they did not react much to her being homeless on the streets for 7 years. I would have though that would have been a more developed conversation between them.

I will be watching for more from this author and this series!

This is clearly the first book of what is meant to be a continuous story series. It does a really good job of introducing us to a world that couples old-world type paranormal tribes with modern concerns. There is definitely not resolution to the story by the end and I would warn against expecting some sort of solid ending going in to this book.

Ren is a woman who has learned not to trust just about anyone. The people she does let into her life have definitely earned their place. She was homeschooled and raised exclusively by her mother who suddenly disappears. Leaving her to fend for herself, Ren is forced to skirt the law to make money. She's especially geared towards being a thief, though, because she has strange sneaking abilities. Couple that with her love of getting air jumping off ledges and she's a unique type of girl. While celebrating her birthday she suddenly finds herself kidnapped and thrown into a world where shifters are real and Ren is attracted to a bunch of men she just met.

She's not only exposed to shifters, but apparently she is a dragon shifter herself. Nobody's sure why she can't shift, but she is the only person left alive who can unit the shifter races. So - what else can get thrown on her shoulders? Well there's this sudden polyamorous coupling, finding her mom, juggling a "normal" friendship she's determined to hang on to, and running from killer vampires. Oh, and the fated mate drama just keeps climbing. I almost feel like this book ends suddenly, having only learned a little bit about Ren's history, eagerly on the way to find out what happened to her mom.

I have to admit that this story is quite a bit different from what I was expecting which while surprising is a good thing. The story to me falls more in the urban fantasy genre than the romance category. Don’t get me wrong, it has romance, lots of steamy passion and sizzling chemistry but is also full of intrigue and thrills that keep the adrenaline pumping and suspense builds throughout the story keeping readers glued to the pages. The characters are strong and compelling and draw the readers to them which makes it easy for the readers to become caught up in the unfolding story as they find themselves facing their lives that are taking a disturbing turn.

The author brought her intriguing reverse harem world to vibrant life with well written words that makes it easy for readers to picture the events as they happen and I was completely caught up in the story from the very beginning although I have to admit it was a bit disappointing when it ended in a cliffhanger, so I must warn you that is a serial romance.

Dragon's Guard The Dragon Shifter's Mates #1 by Eva Chase was an interesting read. All in all, it was a good start for a series, but it didn’t completely hold my attention to continue the series. When 21-year-old Ren, Serenity Landis, opens her locket she expected her long lost mother who left seven years ago to appear back in her life, instead she gets accidently kidnapped and brought to Marco’s house. Serenity is not a happy woman, even if she’s highly attracted to the hot owner of the house, Marco and he to her. Then things get weird. Along with her loyal best friend, Kylie who insists on stay because best friends do that, Ren is on a wild ride. It turns out that she is the last of her kind, a dragon shifter, and it’s her destiny to take the four alphas of the animal clans, jaguar - Marco, eagle - Kyle, bear -Nate and wolf – West, to work in harmony. Naturally, all the guys are super-hot and she is instantly attracted to all of them at once and they to her because it’s destiny. So after a brief time for her to recover some of her lost memories and to train, they go on a quest to find out what her locket symbol means and lots of things happen. Apparently, since there hasn’t been a dragon shifter for sixteen years, infertility has plagued the clans, because the dragon is harmony for the clans and someone or a group had killed Ren’s mother and her four husbands. I won’t tell you more because you might want to find out for yourself. The book has good descriptions of the settings, people, and events throughout the book, there are a few sexy times, which go on par with this romance, but to me it very rushed in places and too much destiny to make it interesting. There was a few good getting to know each other, one on one, but still, it was lacking something. I enjoyed it for a quick, brain candy read, but not enough to go back to finish the series.

I received a copy of Dragon's Guard by Eva Chase from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This was the first book by Eva Chase that I have read and the summary is the first thing that caught my attention. Happily, Dragon's Guard did not disappoint once I began reading. This was an enjoyable book from start to finish - and a quick read - with a good mix of mystery and challenges (without dragging either out too long), likeable characters and witty dialogue. A fun romance to unwind with.
