I never found the time to get to this book. I was really interested at the time and then just lost interest. Now it’s been archived and I can’t get it anymore. Thank you!

Rylie Cooper has returned home to live in her parents’ basement after she caught her boyfriend cheating and lost her job. Those things are seemingly related, but we never find out how. Anyway, she manages to get a summer job as a temporary park ranger and early in her training, the guy who had caught the record catfish (Ronnie) winds up dead in a trap. Her high school sweetheart, Luke (who apparently proposed to her in front of basically their entire high school and she turned him down), is now a cop and on the case. A full time park ranger position opens up and Rylie is convinced she can get it if she can catch the murderer. Luke is willing to involve her somewhat in his investigation so he can keep an eye on her. This was a pretty quick, easy read but it wasn’t a story I loved. Too many things weren’t fleshed out and we were just supposed to accept them, like how Rylie lost her job as a firefighter due to her boyfriend. It is part of a series so the answers may be in future books. I just didn’t care enough to continue the series.

Catfished" is well written and edited. The ranger background is excellent and the plot has plenty of twists and red herrings. My only reservation has been mentioned in other reviews--the main character's tolerance and even acceptance of Antonio's behavior--definitely sexual harassment. It doesn't lesson Rylie's purely physical attraction to him and in this day and age that decreases Rylie's stature as a character.

Rylie’s life has hit a snag. She’s been cheated on and lied to. After finding a dead body, she’s determined to prove herself.

I DNF this book, I found it hard to get into and a struggle to read.

Catfished is one of my favorite reads so far this summer!! Poor Rylie is starting life pretty much over (in her parent's basement no less) & in her new job stumbles on a dead body. The story is funny, entertaining, & a good mystery - looking forward to the next book in this series!!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Catfished follows Rylie Cooper, a twenty-something year old woman who has had to move back in with her parents and leave her job because her relationship went south. Since then she’s been applying for jobs to try and get herself back on her feet and manages to get a job as an urban park-ranger, but things don’t go smoothly.
I think this is what is called a cosy mystery, and this was my first book that I’ve read in the Cosy Mystery genre. It was a nice read but not really anything special. This was quite fast paced and, in all honesty, just a simple and easy read. This had a little bit of romance with Rylie meeting her ex-boyfriend from when she was back in high school and we get to see them catching up after being away for so long. The mystery was ok, it wasn’t too complicated and didn’t take up the whole plot line but was a still a major storyline. I did guess the murderer correctly, but I was expecting too, especially since I am a crime and thriller fan, and this wasn’t a full-on crime book so as said before, the mystery and crime elements were the whole plot.
I’m struggling to find much else to say for this! It was an enjoyable read but not really anything special. I’d definitely pick up the next one just because I know that it’s probably going to be a quick fun read that I can read within the day to refresh myself in between all my thriller and crime books. You can pick this up on Amazon UK in paperback and kindle.

Catfished by Stella Bixby is the 1st book in the Rylie Cooper Mystery series, and a great start. Rylie returns home to live in her parents basement after she loses her boyfriend, job, and home. Rylie gets a job for the summer as a park ranger. When Rylie and her trainer find a dead body, the mystery begins. I really enjoyed this book, and am looking forward to Rylie's next adventure. I love the unique people and situations in this book. I found this book to be a quick read, that keep me guessing until the end. If you love mysteries, I recommend this book.

I received this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

I just received this book from Net Galley for an honest review. Wonderful start to a great series. Rylie has to go back to live with her parents with no job, money or relationship. She needs a job, quick. Car payments wait for no woman.. A summer job working as an Urban Park Ranger may be just the thing, if she only knew what that was. Murder was not what she signed up for, especially on the first day. Fishing for the biggest catfish has never been more dangerous. Most of the other Park Rangers are hot, flirty and married. A murder brings out the police and an old flame. Since Rylie loves a good mystery, she has a hard time not doing a little investigating of her own. Can't wait til the next book to see who wins her heart. Love this character.

Catfished is a quick and lively, lighthearted mystery, in a similar vein to Janet Evanovich’s Stephanie Plum series, and a good introduction to Rylie Cooper, newbie summer park ranger in Colorado.

Rylie is your typical cozy heroine: temporarily out of work, newly out of a relationship, back living with her parents accompanied by her pet, with a potential new (old) love interest on the scene and a knack for finding trouble.

Whilst the mystery side of the story is sound, it is not particularly complex; I did guess whodunit and thought Rylie could have been a bit quicker on the uptake! That said, the story is fun, Rylie is amusing and I would be happy to read more about her (and Shayla and Luke)! I think this is a promising start to the series.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the ARC of Catfished.

Catfished had me laughing out loud. It hits every single stereotype a book could cover from cheating husband to the other woman.
Its a fast pace cozy mystery readers can enjoy. Just don't take the story serious it is meant to be fun and poke fun.

Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for the advance copy of Catfished

As an avid cosy mystery reader I manage to find something good in most books, but this one is a complete disaster! I am shocked that a female author would find sexual harassment in the workplace acceptable…and have her main character finding the guy attractive, yet only not acting on his passes because he is married. What century are we in?

I was not hooked into this story at all and I think only ones being hooked are the catfish.

Sorry, but this is a series and author I will be passing on in the future. Seriously, what century is the author living in?

In this story the main character Rylie, finds her self jobless and just out of college after a terrible break up with her live in boyfriend. She is forced to go back and live with her parents and searching for a new job when she is suddenly reunited with an old high school love and in the middle of a murder mystery. I enjoyed this light-hearted story very much. The main character is very relatable and as a reader, I connected well with all of her situations and experiences. With the sweet mix of romance, comedy, and mystery I loved the characters and how the story was put together. I can not wait til the next book in the series to find out what happens to this character!

I was attracted to the cover and decided to take a chance. I like mysteries, but not too cozy and this one fits the bill. Rylie is a bit down on her luck when she applies for the job of summer urban park ranger. When a body is discovered she also finds her high school love - Luke - is a cop now. Love interest scouted :-)

It is always difficult so write the first in a new series I must assume. Most times it takes a while for a series to take root. Some of my most favorite series started out for me with a little doubt and as I got to know the characters I fell for them.

Even when I did not always like Rylie or agreed with her decisions, I really enjoyed this story and will be on the lookout for the next. Hopefully soon after this one.

Catfished by Stella Bixby was an cute cozy mystery.

Rylie Cooper, a 20 something young woman who has moved home after a break up with her boyfriend and giving up her job because of the break up. Even though she has had to move back in with her parents, she is determined to start her life again in her home town. I did enjoy finding out more about park rangers which is a unique "job" for a cozy mystery character. I found Rylie to be emotionally all over the place as the story progressed which often made me want to skip pages but I didn't because of the mystery. The plot was smoothly paced, there weren't many suspects and the twists and turns kept me guessing until the reveal. The secondary character were all unique individuals which added to the story. This was an easy read and I give it 3.5 stars.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book from the author via NetGalley. All of the above opinions are my own.

Ryle finds herself living back at home after a bad breakup. She decides to start fresh as a summer park ranger. Everything seems to be looking up until she finds a dead body and runs into an ex .

I thought this book had great characters and the storyline was quite interesting .

Super fun mystery series that I enjoyed reading! A quick mystery story about Rylie, who has returned home to live with her family and has taken a job as a summer park ranger. After a terrible break up and being forced to leave her firefighter job, Rylie isn't thrilled with where she is in her life. The first day on her new job involves a dead body and a trip down memory lane with her first love who is now on the police force. A great cast of characters, this story was quick to grab my interest and had moments that really made me smile. I look forward to more stories about Rylie, Luke and the entire gang!

Catfished was a really quick and enjoyable read. Riley is a relatable protagonist (living in her parents' basement as a twenty-something year-old, recovering from a breakup, trying to find a job), but she also has flaws like being risky and putting herself in dangerous positions. I also appreciated how she stuck to her morals about not pursuing married men.

When I first read the description for the novel, I didn't think too much about the park ranger aspect, but that ended up being my favourite thing about the book. I really enjoyed the park/fishery setting and the parts with park ranger training. It was interesting to see how parks operate and unique compared to other books I've read.

Overall, the book was a fun read. I liked the minor characters and the mystery was satisfying. I also really like the cover with the subtle catfish wallpaper.

Definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series!

Catfished is (obviously) the first book in the Rylie Cooper series. It follows Rylie Cooper, who has recently experienced a bad breakup, become unemployed and moved back in with her parents. She lands a job as an urban park ranger and runs into her first love now that she is back in her home town.

Did I love this book? No. Did I enjoy it? Not really. This book never really "hooked" me and I had to force myself to keep reading at points so that I could make it to the finish line- the end of the book. Rylie kind of irritated me, even from the beginning, so unsurprisingly, I never really got around to liking her. Its hard to like a book when you don't really like the main character. This is a series that I don't plan on following.
