I liked the characters dialouge, it had me laughing out loud multiple times. Though I lind of saw the book coming, the story was so enjoyable that i didnt mind knowing the ending!!

This is steamy, intense, romantic and sweet. Seth is sexy, stubborn, dedicated, caring and irresistible. Carrie is sweet, kind, smart and peppy. They meet in a grocery store, when he is there getting tampons for his 12 year old daughter, which she helps with, and are both intensely attracted to each other. She gives him her number in case he needs more help, and he begins flirting with her. But he ends up hiring her as a nanny, which makes a relationship a no no. But they only manage to hold off for a little while. They are fun and entertaining, both before and after they get together. I loved the storyline and the characters and look forward to reading the next

Carrie Herron is struggling to make ends meet when she lands a job as a nanny for the Milwaukee Dragon's new quarterback Seth Chamberlain. They are both surprised when she meets Seth and he is the guy that she flirted with at the grocery store and helped buy feminine hygiene products for his teenage daughter. Carrie and Seth's daughter Madison get along well since they both enjoy comic books and nerd culture. Everything is going well, but Carrie and Seth are intensely attracted to each other. Both of them try to deny it, but they eventually give in while they are attending a comic book convention and. One night Madison comes home from a sleep over at a friend's home and catches them together. She throws a fit and Seth breaks up with Carrie and fires her as the nanny. When Madison runs away to find her birth mom, who subsequently rejects her, Seth and Carrie team up to find her. Madison then realizes that Carrie is more than just a fling to her dad. Madison and Seth plot to get Carrie back. Seth dresses up in a Batman costume and Carrie meets him in her Poison Ivy bustier. Seth admits it was a mistake to send her away and they make up. A great story and you are rooting for them to get together.

After a book that felt like it took forever, this one was a breeze. It was light, flirty and fun. Carrie meets Seth a local football player at the grocery store and when Seth steps in to help her, she decides to return the favor for this single Dad.

While she thinks that is the last she will see of him, they end up together when Carrie finds herself homeless and without a job. The banter is fun, the connection with Carrie and Seth's daughter is fun and easy. A quick fast paced read!

Rating: 3.5 Stars

I am always up for a sports romance, and the single dad - nerdy nanny angle had me interested. I am happy to say, it was a winning combination, that resulted in a fun romance.

Who?

* Seth, a new linebacker with the Dragons, who's two most important priorities were his daughter and football, in that order.

* Carrie, a comic book loving, former science teacher, who liked to cosplay and write graphic novel style textbooks in her free time

What?

In need of a job and a place to live, Carrie allows her brother to set up an interview for her as the live-in nanny for one of the Dragon players. Fortunately, the man and his daughter were both thrilled with Cassie. Unfortunately, the employer was the man she had hoped to date. Since the job was a necessity, Carrie decided that her feelings would need to be put on the backburner, but both she and Seth had a hard time fighting the attraction they had to each other.

Why?

I am a lover of sports romances, and loved the whole set up. I know the single day - nanny thing could come across as cliché, but Lincoln built in enough elements to give this story its own spin.

I really liked the chemistry between Carrie and Seth. There was physical attraction, but there was also an interest in getting to know each other on a personal level. The connection between them was believable. I feel like we got to know Carrie a lot better than Seth, though, and I feel like there was a lot more which could have been revealed.

What I did know about Seth was that he adored his daughter. It was endearing watching him struggle with this new attitude his tween daughter was throwing at him. I gave him a lot of credit for not giving up, and I may have shed a tear or two during their heart to heart.

Carrie came out strong from the gate. She was a really interesting character, and I loved all her nerdiness. It was fun listening to her talk about her thoughts on comic books and education, and I like that it helped her connect to Maddie.

I liked getting to meet Carrie and Seth's family members, and we spent a little bit of time with their friends. This being the beginning of a series, I am curious where it is going, because I didn't feel like we spent enough time with anyone outside of the Seth-Carrie bubble.

Overall: A promising start to a new series, which I will definitely be reading more of.

One of the best sports romance stories I've read in a long time. I love how this story centers around a single father and the task of raising her on his own. Will he find a balance between work and family? Will he find love?

Sweet, spicy, and a whole lot of yum! From the lickable cover to the hilarious one-liners this is the perfect bookcation!

Liz is a "new to me" author and I can't wait to read more from this series!

Super cute story! Both main characters were likeable and the chemistry was adorkable and on point!

My only flaw in the story was the Main Female character was SUPER nerdy (which is great) but she says Justice League was a “great” movie and sorry but it just isn’t IMO so that maybe me question how I felt about the character

But besides that geek girl faux pas the story was adorable and engaging!

I really enjoyed this one … it was a really great romance. I am a fan of single father romances and football sport romances so this was definitely right up my alley. I loved the introduction of the hero/heroine in this one – it was fun and interesting. And this one wasn’t full of drama … it was reasonable and balanced. I never felt like it was overly dramatic. I see there are a lot of mixed reviews but I found this one to be really good. I liked their chemistry, I liked the tween daughter angst which felt real to me (as a mother of a 13-year-old girl myself). All in all, a nice sports romance with a nice story. Definitely recommend – not too sexually gratuitous or full of drama.

Although there was nothing earth-shattering about the basic plot, I had a lot of fun reading this one. The characters were more well-rounded than usual for this type of book, and the chemistry and real-life dilemmas were both well-written.

Is there even a question about why I took a chance on this book? Yeah, I mean that cover!!!! I’ve never heard of this author before and I thought it sounded like a cute sports romance. And in the end, it was a cute sports romance but I felt like it was just a bit too underwhelming for my taste.

There were definitely things I liked about it. The way the main characters initially meet is adorable. And the hero himself is as well. He’s sweet and has a sense of responsibility wanting to make life the best it can be for his daughter. I just warmed up to him really fast! But the heroine on the other hand, not so much. Maybe it’s the fact that she’s young and she doesn’t have her life together. Like at all. She felt too immature for my liking and that goes not only for where she is in life but her reactions to things.

Another thing I did like was the nerdy stuff. 😉 The heroine and the hero’s daughter bond over their love of comics and there’s even some cosplay going on. I loved every second of that and how the author incorporated that into the relationship between the main characters as well. It was both cute and sexy at the same time.

I did enjoy reading this and it was a quick read but I’m not sure if it’s left me interested enough in continuing reading the series.

No Spoilers! A NFL player and single father named Seth gets traded and has to uproot his daughter to another state, which his daughter Madison is not happy about! Seth now has to find a nanny to help with his unruly daughter. In the search for a nanny ,Seth just might find more than a sitter, cook and housekeeper .....A very good read with an enjoyable storyline.

Comic book lover? Science nerd? Football fan? This one has it all. If you're a fan of the "meet cute" and love a single dad story, this might be your next favorite book. Seth is a linebacker for the Milwaukee Dragons. Carrie is a cosplay lover and science teacher, who recently lost her job. Seth needs a nanny, and Carrie needs a place to live and an income. Will these two be able to remain just friends without spontaneously combusting?

I am super glad I picked this one up. I know there have been some people who did not enjoy this one and then others who really liked it and I am in the latter category.

On the Line is Carrie and Seth's story. They meet in a really cute way and start to send flirty texts. Then one thing leads to another and Carrie is now employed by Seth and they can no longer react and continue on with their attraction for each other... Or at least they try not to.

Carrie was an awesome main character and I loved how she was into science and comic books! Seth was also pretty great and I loved how much he loved his daughter Maddie and was always thinking about what was best for her (thought that one part had me like hmmm). I also found their interactions to be great and their romantic/sexy times where not a struggle to read! They did not make me cringe or anything and felt very organic. I also laughed quite a few times while reading this one!

So I am definitely going to be continuing this series!! I cant wait for the next book about Seth's teammate Marcus as I found his character pretty intriguing in this one!

On the Line by Liz Lincoln is the first story in her new football romance series and is a fun and sexy 'single parent falls for the nanny' tale.

Carrie Herron has her hopes up on finally getting into the dating game again when she meets a man at the grocery store and they exchange numbers, and some sexy texts. But when it turns out he's the guy her brother has set her up with for a nanny job, her heart sinks. Getting involved with her new boss, no matter how sexy and handsome he is, is a recipe for disaster.

Seth Chamberlain is doing his best to settle in to his new town, his new team, and with his tween going on twenty daughter who is not enthused with their move. And when his best prospect for a date shows up on his doorstep ready to move in and help with his daughter, he's bummed too. Carrie had already shown herself to be caring and generous even before she started taking care of his daughter, and as a live-in nanny she's got his household running smoothly. And dammit, he just can't put that attraction away as much as he'd want to. It's mutual, and some solo sexy times on each of their parts soon isn't enough. A secret affair is one thing, but when his daughter, and Carrie's brother find out, will it be over before it's barely begun?

I really enjoyed this story! The meet-cute is fun, and the trope plot is predictable but with unique characters to pull it off well. Carrie is into comics and cosplay, which makes her a hit with Seth's daughter Maddie and helps to ease the transition into her living with them full time. Carrie loves to dress up in character as Poison Ivy and she gets to do that for a con, though she hadn't anticipated having Seth and Maddie there with her. Her sexy costume is too enticing for Seth to ignore and their hotel room heats up in a sexy scene that gets repeated a few more times as they start to develop real feelings for each other. As a football romance, there are some great scenes on field and in the locker room, complete with the usual bromance between teammates. There comes a point where Seth and Carrie can't keep the secret anymore and the impact that has on their situation results in some soul searching before the well deserved happy ending. It's an entertaining romance and I'm looking forward to reading more of the series!

A few years back I accidentally stumbled on a sports romance. I've never been into sports or athletes, but let me tell you there is just something about the way these characters carry themselves that draws you into the story and Seth and Carrie had no problem grabbing my attention. A great story, awesome characters and come on, who doesn't love that kid who steals the show. Loved this book.

I could not put this book down. The writing was fantastic, and the story was original. On the Line has everything I want from a story. A woman who is fun and flirty and takes chances. A pro football player who is as big as they come. As I began this book I knew from the way they meet that I wanted to know every detail of their story. I wasn’t disappointed. The way the author portrays Maddie, Seth’s twelve-year-old daughter brought back lots of memories. I sympathized with the way Seth was treated and admired that Maddie was first in his life. Carrie is perfect in her love of comics and knowing how to handle teens. Seth and Carrie complimented one another in the way they handled things. They worked as a team but more so were secretive in their relationship when they needed to be. This is my first book by this author and I will be adding more to my “to be read” shelf. She is someone I will be marking as a surprise debut author for me for 2018.

I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntary opinion of it.

What do you get when you put a star athlete and comic book nerd in a romance book? You get a Quirky, passionate, fun ride! You get On The Line!

Claires down on her luck. Getting nowhere with the job search and getting force out of her apartment with no place to go, Claire takes up her brother on the off to contact his friend who is in need of a live in nanny.

Seth is a single father raising a 12 year old daughter. He's also been traded to the Milwaukee dragons. A new city with very few friend's  and a schedule that has him leaving over night almost every week has put him in serious need of a nanny to watch over his daughter.

Needless to say it's a surprise to them both that they already know each other.... well sort of. you see a week ago they met in a grocery store with Seth paying for Claires groceries and Claire helping Seth with what tampons to get for his daughter's first period. After an exchanging of numbers in case Seth has any additional questions it quickly turn's from an innocent gesture to one of extremely flirty text's with the promise of something more.

With the understanding that neither of them will act on their attraction for the other, Claire accept's the nanny job. But they can only fight it so long before their desire for one another comes to a boiling point.

Will Claire and Seth be able to overcome all their reservations and give this budding romance a chance or will one spunky tween put a stop to it before it reaches full bloom. You'll have to read the book to find that out!

What I really like about this book was that nobody was damaged. Seth had every right to be closed off after dealing with the whole baby mama drama, but he wasn't. He had all of his priorities straight. First comes his daughter then his career.

Claire wasn't damaged either. No bad breakup's, no traumatic past experiences, and no emotional baggage that she brought into the relationship. She's just a woman who got laid off and a crappy land lord. that's it.

It's very rare you find that in a book and it was definitely refreshing for once not to have to deal with that.

P.s. HOW ABOUT THAT COVER!! OMG DROOL WORTHY!

On her way to her brother's to do laundry, Carrie stops by the local grocery store where she realizes she's forgotten her wallet. When the handsome man behind her offers to buy her groceries, she's immediately smitten. He's kind and so cute! When she spies women's hygiene products in his purchases, she's embarrassed to have been gawking at him. Seth explains the items are for his teenage daughter, not wife. Carrie can't in good conscience allow him to take his purchases to his daughter as they are not appropriate for a teen with her first period. She helps him choose something more appropriate and they end up exchanging phone numbers so she can pay him back.

Carrie, having been laid off as a science teacher, needs a job and a home. She's been informed her landlord sold her place and she has to be out ASAP! Not really wanting to crash with her brother, Carrie seeks his advice. He knows of a guy who needs a nanny and can put in a good word for her. It's not exactly teaching, but it will provide her a home and money. In the meantime, she continues texting "grocery guy" and they promise to go on a date, Until....

Carrie shows up for her interview as a nanny and is shocked when "grocery guy-Seth" opens the door. Although their chemistry is undeniable, they agree to keep their realationship professional,,,until they can't. When Seth's daughter finds out, she runs away. Seth's world crumbles as he's always said his daughter is the most important thing in his life, even more so than football. He lashes out at Carrie and destroys her heart in the process.

This was the first Liz Lincoln novel I've read. It won't be the last! I loved how Carrie was able to bring Seth's daughter out of her shell. She was moody and disrectful, but Carrie was able to find something in common with her and build on it. I also enjoyed Carrie's costume of Poison Ivy!!! It was super sweet when Seth bought Carrie a new "Poison Ivy" corset. As a single person myself, I struggle at times with balancing my wants vs my kiddo's. Seth struggles with this and it's his ultimate undoing.....I read a gifted copy and all options stated are my own.

I recently finished reading On the Line by Liz Lincoln, which was one of my most anticipated romance reads of 2018. I had a lot of fun reading it so I thought I'd try to convince you to give this one a shot. Here are 5 reasons you should give On the Line a try!

1. The Heroine Is Nerdy & Compassionate
Carrie was a fantastic heroine! I think it's safe to say that a lot of readers would enjoy her voice. She's really sweet and compassionate. She sees the best in people and is always willing to help people out. Life hasn't been too easy on her lately, but she's making the best of it. Carrie is also a HUGE comic book nerd and is a fan of all things geeky. We also get to see her cosplaying and it was a whole lot of fun!

2. There's A Single Dad Hero
Yeah ok, you got me. This is exactly why I wanted to pick On the Line. You guys know I'm a big fan of romance novels with single dads, and we get that with this book and Seth. Seth was a great guy too. He is trying his absolute best to deal with his teen daughter. I really adored his bond with Maddie because even when he didn't understand her teenage brain and antics, her safety and happiness were at the center of everything for him. This was a sexy dad who was ready to do anything for his daughter! *swoons*

3. It Shows The Reality of Life of Football Player
I feel like a lot of romance books tend to glamorize the lives of football players. Of course, that sort of lifestyle comes with its perks, but there are downs too. I liked that On the Line showed that here. Seth has to travel a lot and it puts a lot of strain on himself. We get to see some bromance too here with teammates which I'm always a sucker for. All in all, it had a great depiction of sports, different from what I've seen before.

4. The Chemistry Is A+
The romance between Seth and Carrie, while has touches of insta-love/insta-lust to it, was really hot. I thought the chemistry between them was really palpable. The forbidden nature of the relationship also made me enjoy the romance even more. The steamy scenes in On the Line were fan-yourself hot!

5. The Bond Between Carrie & Maddie Is Sweet
Usually, with romance books that have a single parent, the kids don't like the new woman in the dad's life, which can be kind of annoying for the reader. Here, Carrie and Maddie bond over their love of comic books and cosplay. It was lovely to watch the two become close to each other and find friendship and love. Maddie could be an angsty teen at times, but she was a good kid. :)

There you have it! 5 Reasons to pick up On the Line. I'll most certainly be picking up the next book and more from by Liz Lincoln!
