I loved the premise of this book. The first time Carrie and Seth met was very cute and kinda funny. I enjoyed reading their mutual attraction as it developed as well as them trying to fight their feelings. I loved their interactions, both in their physical and in their social. The two just seemed to fit. And if I totally pictured Clay Matthews as Seth the entire time reading, then all the more better. Throw in Seth's priorities in life, he could almost be perfect. The drama was not too dramatic, but very heart aching and then heartwarming with its resolution. And the pace of their relationship was just right. I am looking forward to more in this series.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review from the publisher through Netgalley.

Seth, NFL player, has a chance encounter with Carrie, science teacher, that leads to passionate attraction. Unfortunately, Seth and Carrie have to strategize how to work past their instant attraction when she later becomes his daughter's nanny. This a solid contemporary sports romance. I enjoyed the characters and the development of the romance. I loved that Seth's mom's name was Deanna. I will continue the series. Thanks to Random House - Loveswept for the ARC of this title via NetGalley.

I had some high hopes for this book and how it might turn the genre on its head, but they were all pretty much shattered. We had a nerdy cos-playing teacher/nanny, a cool kid, a hot dad (and brother's best friend).

There's not really anything terribly offensive about this book, but I did not enjoy it. There are some good bones to the story, and it certainly had the room to be something much more than it was. Seth is a good dad trying to make the hard but necessary decisions and stay close to his young daughter. Carrie is struggling to find her own footing in the world after being let go from her teaching gig. But I wasn't a fan of the POV (close third, alternating characters), the pacing (scenes/chapters end as if they'll be picked up in the next chapter, but then the next chapter is weeks in the future), or the chemistry. There was something pretty cheesy about it, and not much that was sexy. We're also told a lot that Carrie is a good nanny and good to the kids but...we never see it? There's also a lot of needless explanation of the most basic of football rules and terminology.

Should you read it? I recommend that you skip this one.

This was a cute story about football player/single Dad Seth and Nerdy unemployed science teacher Carrie. After they meet in a grocery store it turns out that Carrie's brother (Jason) is a good friend of Seth's and works as a scout on the same NFL team the Milwaukee Dragons where Seth was just traded to from Houston. So Jason, knowing Seth needs a nanny for his daughter, recommends his unemployed sister for the job.
Although I liked the book, I think it just seemed like there could have been more to it. But with that said, I will likely give the next book in the series a chance and see where it goes. You never know. I love sports books so it's worth a shot!

Wow – sexy, single Dad who happens to be a hot NFL player?? Nerdy, ex-science teacher who loves comic books?? Sign me up!

Lately I feel like a lot of the sports romances I've read border on the New Adult genre. Which is fine by me sometimes, but I like reading about normal, regular, mature characters with none of the NA "drama". Seth and Carrie are adults who act like adults and deal with real-life issues (work, family obligations, body confidence concerns).

As a nerdy girl myself (although not a comic book fan), I really connected with Carrie. I loved that she owned her nerdiness and wasn't ashamed of who she was or what she liked. And as for Seth, there is something so incredibly sexy about a single dad who is all about his kid. Seth is an amazing father who is willing to sacrifice his own happiness for his daughter but I liked that he realized that although Maddie would always be a priority, he needed to focus on his own happiness too and the two weren't mutually exclusive.

My biggest "complaint" is that I might have enjoyed an epilogue. Although I'm hoping that we'll see more of these characters if there are additional books in the series.

On the Line was a good story. Carrie is having all kinds of bad luck. She meets a guy in line at the store & they start sexting. When she lands a nanny job guess who happens to be her new boss? Sexting guy of course. They try to keep things profession but they can't. This book was a good read but I wish it had a little more zing to it like it started out with. I can't wait to read the next book in the series. I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC.

Enjoyable sweet sports romance with likable characters that are nicely developed. Entertaining plot was a little predictable and there were several coincidences that advanced the storyline. Seth was a really sweet dad to teen Maddie and the best character for me. Carrie was quirky and melodramatic which was a good counterpoint to Seth. I voluntarily reviewed a NetGalley ARC.

Seth is trying his hardest to be a good dad. Unfortunately that means uprooting his daughter from their home in Houston and moving to Milwaukee. At 12, she’s at a difficult age already so it is even rougher to have to start all over. But he’s a good man and he’s doing the best he can. Running into a sexy redhead at the grocery story, and one who is willing to give him feminine hygiene help, has things looking up.

Carrie is having a rough time after losing her job as a teach and not getting any bites on a new one. She’s starting to really stress when she’s rescued by a hottie in the checkout lane. Being able to help him return leads to some sexy flirting. When a possible job lands in her lap, things are definitely looking up … until she discovers her potential new boss is the guy she’s been sexting. Yikes! You have to admire how well she handles it :)

I think these two were hotter NOT having sex than most couples are when they do! I loved their first meeting and then the inevitable struggle as Carrie becomes the nanny for Seth’s preteen daughter. It’s not easy for them to ignore their attraction but they do try … and although they don’t necessarily succeed, I have to like that it is pretty drama free between them. They understand why that it is best to keep things professional and they try their hardest to keep it that way.

I am pretty surprised at how many 3 star or less reviews there are for this one. I’m actually mostly amused by how many of them are based solely on the fact that this is in third person. That never bothers me and I didn’t have any difficulty following along here so I guess it’s just a personal preference thing. There were also some complaints that the ending was too rushed but I thought it worked. It may not have been as emotion-driven as some but I think that it worked well with the flow of the rest of the story.

Overall, I found On the Line to be amusing, flirty, sexy, and full of heart. It was entertaining watching the two of them fight their feelings for Madison’s sake … and, of course, fail! Is it predictable? Probably, but it is enjoyable regardless. Bringing light-hearted fun with enough feels to keep you turning pages, Lincoln delivers a winner in my opinion.

Being a caring man but still being a straight forward and crude talker makes Seth sound mouth watering. Seth is responsible, a good respectful busy father that just needs some help. Who would have thought that when he finally shows some interest in someone, she is going to be the one to come to his rescue? Carrie can't deny the intense attraction towards Seth. They can't deny the chemistry they have even when they are so different. But when their relationship turns to employer and employee, any possibility of pursuing a deeper relationship is off the table. For them it is easier said than done and it becomes torture with every page reading how they have to contain all that desire until it accumulates all the way to exploding. But it is a good type of torture.

I really loved the blurb to this book, but unfortunately the story didn't live up to it. I felt no chemistry between the main characters and therefore couldn't connect to them as individuals or as a couple. Their exchanges were awkward and seemed force. Add in the bratty Maddy, Seth's 12-year old, and by the end of this book I was just done.

Sports romances are kind of my thing - so this was total catnip for me. I truly enjoyed the characters and the story. I loved that Seth was such a sweet guy - and a dad who was truly trying to find his way. Maddie was portrayed really realistically and well as a teenager. Carrie definitely had that adorkable vibe - and it was great to see her bring a tough football guy to his knees. It kept making me giggle that he didn't see the obvious Thor connection and insisted on being other superheros... This was my first book by Liz Lincoln -but I know I'll be reading more. I am already excited to read the next in this series.

I received this as an ARC from net galley - but the opinions are my own.

This is the first book that I have read by Liz Lincoln and I enjoyed it very much. Carrie and Seth were super sweet and great characters. Their first meeting was pretty fun and you notice and instant attractions. I also loved how Carrie was a little bit nerdy to Seth's jock.

Seth is a football player that had a child at a very young age that he raised with the help of his parents because Maddies mom didn't want to be in her life. Seth is an NFL Football player and had to move to Milwaukee because he was traded. Seth was originally from Texas and played there for the past 10 years so his parents watched Maddie while he was away. So now he and Maddie are miles away from their safety net. Also, Maddie is a twelve year old girl who needs a woman in her life.

Carrie was a 7th grade science teacher who lost her job and spent the summer trying to find a replacement job but never got any offers. Carries brother is a scout for the Milwaukee dragons and told her a friend of his needs a nanny. Carrie really wants to a more permanent position but eventually gives in. During this time she meets a hunky guy in the grocery store. She had left her wallet at home so the guy behind her offers to pay for her groceries. She also noticed he had tampons so of course she assumed he was married. After he paid for her groceries they chatted and he mentioned the tampons were for his 12 year old daughter her had just received her womanly gift. Carrie automatically informs him the type of tampons he picked up would not do the trick and helped him buy something that would work for a 12 year old with her 1st period. Seth goes on to explain he is so lost. Carrie offers her name and number just incase he needs any other womanly advice.

Carrie and Seth continue to text after the first night. They pretty much flirt and play to met up again. During this time Carrie decides to take the job of nanny from her brothers friend. Of course the friend is Seth and he and Carrie agree the budding relationship must not go any further. They agree to be employer and employee because Maddie and Carrie get along really well with their love of comic books.

This was a very sweet book. Seth was a great loving dad and he was very alpha and sweet with Carrie. There were several funny parts and sexy scenes as well. This was a dual POV with a great story line and not constant sex scenes.

This was a sweet story, of how Carrie and Seth try to ignore the mutual attraction that started before they found themselves with her living in his house and being nanny to his 12 year old daughter. Carrie knows she shouldn't act on anything because she really needs the job and the place to live, and Seth knows he should put his daughter first. But knowing what you should do often doesn't match up with what you want. I thought the book had a good pace and was fun to read.

I started reading On The Line and I have to say, I really enjoyed it!! I’d say the writing style was pretty light, I liked that the characters were straightforward with one another, and i especially loved how accepting of each other they were, even when they didn’t understand the other’s life (football, cosplay). It did irk me when Maddie doesn’t take any responsibility at the end, but it didn’t overshadow my happiness when Carrie be Seth worked it out. While it also didn’t seem realistic to me that neither one of them held a grudge against the other, I do have to remember that I’m extremely stubborn and hold grudges way too easily. Overall, thank you so much for laughs and enjoyment I felt with this book, I really did love it!

This first book in the Milwaukee Dragons series was the ultimate slow burn!!

Seth was recently traded to Milwaukee and, as a single dad, is trying to juggle his new team and his 12 year-old daughter. A chance meeting with Carrie leads to flirty texts and the possibility of more until she shows up to interview to be his daughter's nanny. Carrie needs a job more than she needs a relationship with this insanely attractive man. They both want to do the right thing and stay away from each other but the chemistry and attraction is undeniable.

I loved that Seth was so devoted to making his daughter happy. I like Carrie but I felt like she didn't have a direction and maybe that's why she never got any of the jobs she applied for. I like that these two didn't just jump in and ignore the potential consequences of them getting together but the slow burn seemed to drag a bit toward the end. This is my first book by this author but I'm definitely going to be picking up the next book in this series!!

On the Line by Liz Lincoln is the first in the Milwaukee Dragons series and my first read by this author. I love sports romances and was excited to give this one a chance. A sexy single father who happens to be a professional football player in need of a nanny and a teacher in need of a job.

Carrie Heron and Seth Chamberlain meet in the grocery store and hit it off instantly. They share some sexy and fun texts back and forth. But when Carrie is in need of a job to help her out until she can find a new teaching position, she realizes she will be the nanny for the man she has been flirting with. They agree to try and keep things professional going forward. Should be easy enough, right?

Seth just moved to Milwaukee after being traded. While trying to acclimate himself to his new team, he also has to raise his daughter. He is struggling and needs help. When his friends recommend his sister as a nanny, he jumps on the chance. But he did not expect to find the woman he met recently and was attracted too.

I loved Carrie. She was easy going, loved comics and cosplay. She connected with Seth’s daughter and he was grateful. Seth was determined to be a good dad, but also need to be a good football player. Carrie and Seth struggled to ignore their chemistry and to maneuver around his relationship with his daughter as well. This was an adorable read and a good sports romance.

3..5 stars.

Thanks Netgalley for a copy to read and review my honest opinion.

Wow....hot cover alert! Thanks for allowing me a copy... wowsa. So this is a first read by this author for me and I wasn't disappointed. The blurb follows the book great and I didn't want to put it down. Carrie is an unemployed science teacher who accepts a nanny position due to lack of jobs. I think I loved Seth from the first scene in the grocery store...yummy. That first scene had me chuckling. Big huge guy standing in line with tampons....loved it.
I thought Seth was a huge teddy bear but some of the action was a bit awkward. He wanted to draw a line between dating and boss but for me the lines were blurred after Carrie started sexting him. Seth had a daughter whose mother had abandoned her. I get that a guy has to put his kid first but makes me think the kid is spoiled. Especially when Carrie was so good to the kid and didn't treat her bad. Even went out of her way to make sure the kid enjoyed the comic stuff. The way Seth was buying his daughter stuff just didn't sit well with me.
Overall though I thought the story was great, and funny. Can't wait to see what the author comes out with next. Four stars of entertainment!
