I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The sparks between Carrie and Seth are off the chart and it’s easy to see how the sexual tension plays a major role in this book.

The ups and downs of single parenthood are well written and it’s easy to see the difficulties they face when trying to balance what's best for the children vs having a personal life.

This is the first in a new series, and I think it bodes well for future books. It is sports based, but as Seth doesn't get out much, we only briefly meet teammates.

I felt that the fact that Carrie is a soon-to-be-evicted, unemployed teacher in a jam, rather than a career nanny, did make the whole story a lot more interesting. She was older and more experienced than the average nanny, and the connection through her brother played a part in her getting the job. It also added the pressure on them not to get involved in any way. And whilst their attraction was immediate and stronger than one might expect, the very fact they couldn't act on it clearly made it worse. It was fun watching on – especially at the cosplay convention. Given that the story needed to get through a whole season, there were some time jumps which I also think made the intensity of their feelings and the acting on them more realistic.

Overall, this was a sweet read about a single dad travelling in uncharted waters with a tween and trying to keep her happy beyond everything else. His heart was in the right place, and in the end, he learned a valuable lesson which ensured that we got the happy ending we wanted – well happy for now, assuming we will get more in future installments (please)!

This was a cute story – I love that it starts out with a clueless single dad trying to pick out tampons for his young teen’s first period, it was an intriguing way to start the story and had me sucked right in.

Seth is a professional athlete who has just been traded from Houston to Milwaukee, his 12 year old daughter, Madison, isn’t taking the move well at all. Seth is struggling to find her a nanny when the perfect person makes an appearance – Carrie. Carrie is an out of work teacher and an all-around geek who loves science. She and Seth’s daughter hit it off from the get-go with their mutual love for all things nerdy. Unfortunately for Seth, Carrie isn’t willing to mix business with pleasure and though the two send some super-hot texts back and forth, Carrie isn’t willing for there to be a relationship while she’s nannying his daughter.

I read a lot of sports romances and really love the originality of this one – it’s not the same overdone story. Carrie is one of my favorite characters that I’ve read in a long while – she’s very relatable and has a quirky personality that I enjoyed reading. I’m looking forward to more from this author!

This was a good read! This was an opposites attract kind of story, with a football player, and a nerdy comic book lover. The writing flowed well, and the characters were developed nicely. I thought that Seth and Carrie were good together, and they had great chemistry. It did take a while to get though the will they/won't they part of the story. There wasn't a whole lot of drama in the story until the last couple of chapters. This is the point where I wanted to start shaking people. Yes, the situation was nerve wracking, and I would have been terrified for my child. With that said, in no world to you let your 12 year old make life altering decisions for you. I don't care how much you love them, YOU are the parent. As shown in the rest of the story, 12 year olds are known to change their minds. A LOT. Other than that part of the story, I really enjoyed it. This is a new author to me, and she kept my attention from the start. I will be checking out more from her!
I voluntarliy reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book.

This was such a fun book to read! I had many smiles on my face reading this, even some moments that had me laughing out loud. I don’t want to give any more away than what is in the description already, but you won’t be sorry reading this book. It was definitely time well spent.

This is my first book by this author, and it definitely won’t be my last. So good! This review is for an ARC, and reflects my honest opinion. I’m giving it 5 out of 5 stars.

I’m a sucker for a good sports romance, so when I saw this one on NetGalley, I decided to request it. I’m glad I did! There was a sexy Thor lookalike football player, some sexy times, and lots of laughs. I can’t wait to read book two (and however many more will be published after that).

Carrie was a great main character. Sort of geeky, but in the best possible way. She loved comics, science, and cosplaying. And don’t even get me started on Seth. Whoa baby! He was super hot, and such a great dad. Single dad romances are a new favorite trope of mine, and the nanny aspect is an added bonus. The chemistry between these two was off the charts.

I liked Maddie for the most part, although I felt like she was sort of bratty. But she was a tween girl in a new city, so I gave her some slack. I liked meeting some of the other football players, and Carrie’s brother as well. The characters were easy to like, and I thought the book was fantastic. I highly recommend this one. And I loved that the book was set in Wisconsin!

This is a new author for me and I was pleasantly surprised! I think this was a believable portrayal of a single dad to a 12-year-old daughter who absolutely placed her first in his life which was very refreshing. I really liked Carrie and Seth's slow burn and that the relationship slowly progressed even though there was a ton of heat between them! Enjoyable contemporary romance that I would definitely recommend! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.

Geek and a football player!

Unemployed science teacher Carrie Heron is very frustrated with job hunting when she meets a guy at the grocery store when she forgets her wallet and he pays for her groceries. Carrie repays the favor when she sees him trying to buy some tampons for his pre-teen daughter.

Pro football player Seth Chamberlain needs a nanny for his daughter because she is too young to stay by herself plus someone needs to take her to school and other activities. His friend recommends his sister that Seth had never met because he was from Wisconsin and they went to college in Texas.

On The Line is a very fun read because Carrie is a geek and very proud of it being a science teacher and into cosplay and comic books. Seth is a struggling single parent with a pre-teen daughter and playing professional football. Plus Seth’s reaction to Carrie describing the weather was perfect.

Received an advance reader copy in exchange for an honest review.

To be quite frank, I almost passed this one up due to the cover. Don’t get me wrong, those abs are amazing. But who rolls their shirt up and then stands like that? It instantly made me laugh, then think the main character was going to be a douche. It kept popping up for me though, so I finally decided I should at least read the description. I was sold!

The beginning, how Seth and Carrie first meet, is awkward and sweet all at the same time. Of course, once you find out Carrie’s brother knows someone who needs a nanny you can figure out what will happen. But no matter how Carrie and Seth feel about mixing business and pleasure, their chemistry is just too much to deny.

I always love a geeky girl, and Carrie fits the bill. She’s into comic books and graphic novels and superheroes. She even holds panels at various Cons. It’s great! Instead of big, bad, jock Seth ever finding it odd he is always fully supportive. It helps that his daughter likes the same things, but he truly seems interested in what Carrie does.

Seth is really a great guy (definitely not the type to pose for the cover of this book!) and a wonderful dad. He’s not perfect, but what parent is? He really does the best he can and is just trying to hold it all together with a surly tween girl at home. There are just some things a young lady doesn’t want to talk to her dad about. It’s hard for Seth to see his daughter growing up and distant from him.

Liz Lincoln is a new-to-me author that I will be checking out again for sure.

Fun, sexy warm hearted sports romance

This is the first book I've read by Liz Lincoln and I really enjoyed it. I liked that Carrie made smart and nerdy sexy and fun. Seth's love and devotion for his daughter Maddie made him so attractive. The author's development of their sexual attraction was well done. The twists and turns she used to move the plot toward their HEA was well throughout and realistic.

3.5 Stars 🌟
I really enjoyed this slightly different take on a football romance.
Seth is a single dad who has just signed with a new team in a new city and for the first time will need help from someone other than family in caring for his tween daughter.
Carrie is a middle school science teacher who lost her job due to budget cuts. When she runs out of teaching options and has her apartment sold out from under her, her brother connects her with his college friend who needs a nanny.
When the two meet they have no idea that that have already met....
It was incredibly entertaining to watch these two fight their attraction to each other in the effort to be professional. It was even more fun to watch them fall in love. I even appreciated that the relationship issues came from Seth trying to be a good dad.
Carrie and Seth are excellent characters and easy to like. I found myself rooting for them in this well written, fun, and sexy read.

Sexy, fun, and flirty is the best way to describe this awesome read. Seth and Carrie are great characters and their chemistry jumps from the pages from their first hilarious meeting in the grocery store. Madison, Seth's teenage daughter, really makes this story work. I enjoyed how well Madison and Carrie interacted. I'm a sucker for stories that have hot dad's stepping up and taking care of their kids so this was a great one for me!

I highly recommend this book to everyone.

I like sports romance in which the hero, or heroine, as the case may be, is actually living the life of a professional athlete. In this one, Seth is a football player for the Milwaukee Dragons who needs some help with his 12 year old daughter and Carrie is unemployed and hunting for a position as a teacher, but despite a number of interviews, is not having any luck finding a new job.

As Seth is new to Milwaukee, while he has friends, he left his family and support system back in Houston, and he needs a way to lead his life in the NFL while giving stability to his daughter. Enter Carrie, the new nanny (although, they had met previously and there was some flirting before they knew who each other was) and the problem is solved.

Yet, as often happens, the solution to one problem brings another one...in this case, the amazing attraction they have for one another and the fact that now that she is caring for his daughter, they feel this is not something they can act on.

And, a good portion of this is them fighting the attraction, giving in a little bit, and then pulling away. It was hot, it was realistic, and it kept me turning the pages.

There was an element that I thought was a little unnecessary with a person from the past. It was tossed in quickly, so it didn't really mess up the story, but the time spent on it didn't seem quite right, and I didn't totally believe the response of this person.

But, this was minor, and overall I really enjoyed this title, and I am looking forward to the next in the series.

i recommend this book.

Fun read with great characters and a good story line. I liked Carrie's spunk and her nerd-ish love of math, science and comic books. Seth with melt your heart with his love for his daughter. What starts as a flirting texting pushes to something more but becomes a hurdle when Carrie because a live-in nanny/housekeeper for Seth. Very sexy chemistry makes it so hard to keep it business like especially when Carrie keeps getting "wifey" feeling as she does domestic chores for the household with out the sexy times. I loved the ending even though I there was a bit of an emotional roller coaster at the end.

3.25 Stars!

On the Line is the first in the series "Milwaukee Dragons".
Seth Chamberlain has just relocated due to his job as a football player. Yes! A sports romance; I love them.

Now with the lack of family around to help out with his twelve-year-old daughter, he's on the hunt for a nanny.
Too bad the perfect candidate also happens to be the stunning redhead he's been sharing flirty texts with.

Carrie is in desperate need of a job, after being laid off from her teaching position, so they both decide to ignore their obvious attraction and move on.

Moving on is proving nearly impossible when she becomes their live-in nanny. The tension and steaminess was written well.
But after a while of the back and forth with them denying their physical chemistry, I started to lose interest.
I feel like if there was more focus on a connection between them (beyond the physical) this story would've been so much greater.

There were plenty of missed opportunities for a deeper bond with the lack of scenes after they "get together". Again, it only felt physical. Don't get me wrong, it was steamy, but that's it.
The ending was a bit too rushed.

I enjoyed this book for the most part but there were just a few missing aspects that would've made it more memorable.

A big thank you to NetGalley and Loveswept/Random House Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. First time reading this author. I am not a huge fan of sports romance, but I really enjoyed this book. It wasn't over the top with football stuff. Very fun and cute and I found it to be a quick read. The characters were flirty and nice. I really just liked them as people. Probably not a realistic view of a pro footballers life, but I just didn't care. I rated this a 4.5. I th I I most sport romance readers would like this book, and also most romance readers. It's not really a bad boy book just a couple of nice people who fall in love.

I've read a lot of book where football players are MC's but Seth somehow managed to stand out from all of them. Don't ask me how but something about his love for his daughter, the sports and Carrie makes him an ideal book BF material. The only thing I didn’t like about him is his long hair – I HATE man buns. :P

I loved Carrie and her love for comics. A nerd after my own heart. But I also kinda hated her in that Poison Ivy when Seth couldn keep his eyes or his hands to himself. Their texting was a fun touch to the story even when they decided that would not get involved and kept doing it.
And the teen-age drama? Dear God in heaven please save me if this is what awaits me with my two boys. Just thinking about it i can feel the grey hair growing.

Overall it was a quick and fun read, perfect for the rainy days to pass. Solid 3,5*!

“Your wife is a lucky woman. Very few men would be willing to buy tampons.”
When you read this book be prepared to laugh. I don’t want to give a lot away.

Carrie is afraid of change but is also taking a risk in her life. She’s a nerd and loves comics.
Seth is all about his daughter and nothing else matters except for football. The jock and the nerd a love story like no other.
I love what Liz Lincoln did she showed both characters as individuals and then both together. The story never felt rush we got happiness, love, and some sadness. I really need another book.

This is a sexy, flirty, chemistry-driven, laugh out loud, and above all fun book! Carrie Herron is an out of work science teacher who is being evicted from her home and after looking for work and countless interviews is ready to take a job at a coffee shop when her brother sets her up with an interview for a nanny position. She thinks, what does she have to lose, it is only one 12 year old instead of a classroom of them. The only problem is the dad is none other than Seth Chamberlain, the man she has been sexting with after a cute-meet in the grocery store. They have great chemistry over texting and flirting and the ultimate next step is a date only now with the job that is not going to happen. Carrie and Maddie (the daughter) bond over comics and are great together but 12 year olds are moody and snarky at best and she is really mad at her dad for moving her to a new city. Watching these two figure out how to live together and not touch for so long and then come together was touching and add in a tween with an attitude it is hilarious. I suggest this one for a great time!

4.5 stars Excellent contemporary football/sports romance. Carrie lost her job teaching and has tried to find a new position. Her brother recommends she work as a nanny for one of the football team's player. Turns out it's the same guy she helped with personal items for his daughter in the grocery store where they flirted. Seth and Carrie try to be employee and boss even though they feel more. Seth is a professional football player with a tween daughter. The author did an excellent job bringing the characters and their issues to life. I really enjoyed this story and look forward to reading future books by this author. I received a complementary copy via Net Galley and chose to write a review.

I will not restate the plot nor reveal any spoilers in this review.
ON THE LINE by Liz Lincoln is a very well-written and entertaining book that grabbed my attention from the beginning. It is a realistic story of a single dad rearing a 12 year old daughter on his own. Because of his occupation and recent relocation, he searches for and finds a live-in nanny for his daughter. Sparks fly and there are several steamy sex scenes between them. But have you ever tried to reason with a preteen? LOL Needless to say, the daughter throws a monkey wrench in the relationship between father and nanny and, of course, the result is family drama. It is a refreshing book in that the single father is trying to balance career, fatherhood and pursue an adult relationship without undermining the delicate and evolving nature of the father-daughter relationship.
The author did a nice job in starting well and building a believable plot with interesting characters, humor, romance and drama. She then wraps up all loose ends and delivers the HEA. An enjoyable read!
