Enjoyed the beginning but then it...fizzled. Both main characters seemed rather immature in their behavior and outlooks. And the line in the blurb “the only nanny his daughter will tolerate”...describes what irked me the most (of several points) about this story. Of course you would want you child to like their nanny, but to have the child dictating so much about the entire nanny issue? Especially a 12-year-old girl? Sorry, that didn’t fly well.

I have RARELY given 3 stars...this could have held so much more potential. As I mentioned above, the beginning was funny, seemed to promise a good story but in the end, it just didn’t deliver.

I like sport romances because with the amount of research the authors do you learn about the sport too . There wasn’t much of that in this book . They story and the relationship kept your interest

The more I sat on my review of On the Line the less I liked the story, though those abs on the cover model could do crazy things to a girl's mind...

There was just something slightly off about the whole story, and it was hard to put my finger on exactly why I didn't really like it. The chemistry felt forced, and the tension was non-existent so there wasn't that fluttery feeling in my gut while I was reading. The storyline was... fine, but it never excited me and I had a hard time maintaining my interest. And while I love a single dad story, I hate a bratty daughter trope, and I had a hard time with the tween angst here.

There were a few plot elements which were introduced and then dropped off (the brother-friend angle, the unsatisfied in the career story), and things just never quite fit together like I had hoped.

While the story wasn't a bad one and I'm sure many fans of contemporary romance will like it, when you've read thousands of romance books, only the special ones make their mark and this one, unfortunately, wasn't it.

If you're into the cliched football player falls in lust (love) with nanny trope, this is for you.

I really enjoyed On the Line and couldn't wait to get back to it when I had time to read. It's a cute story of Seth and Carrie -- he's an NFL football player and she's an out of work teacher who he hires to be a nanny to his pre-teen daughter. Of course, you'll never guess what happens...right! Instant attraction. Carrie is cute, smart and driven and Seth is gorgeous, smart and -- well, you get the picture. Together they have great chemistry. which they have to ignore since Seth has hired Carrie as his daughter Maddy's nanny. There's an interesting sub-plot about the comic book convention world and the people who live for it, as well as plenty of football talk. On the Line is a fun read with some really well written hot sex as well as several characters who will tug on your heart before the story ends. I definitely recommend it.

I really enjoyed Carrie & Seth’s story. Single parent stories always give me the feels and this one is no exception. It’s such a sweet love story full of sexy, flirty, witty and steamy moments that will seriously make you smile. Seth is sweet and also a very hot and hunky football player trying to be a good dad. Carrie is such a unique and quirky heroine who I really like, and she is in need of a job. Her brother gets her an interview as a nanny with none other than you guessed it, Seth. This does not bode well for either of them since they have been flirting over texts after meeting at the grocery store. Carrie needs a job more than she needs a man so she takes the job knowing they can forget about a relationship with Seth being her boss now. I love how she is able to find some interesting common ground with Seth’s daughter and how she really brings the shine back to Maddie.
Can these two manage to keep a strictly professional relationship with Carrie living with them? Can they ignore the chemistry and the easy way they are around each other for the sake of a job and his daughter? You’ll have to read and find out. It’s a quick, fun read!!

I received an arc from NG for review.

I LOVED this story. This story starts in a supermarket where Carrie meets Seth and lemme tell you that was such a great scene. I knew I would love the story just based on the first scene. In the end they end up as text buddies. And they have this adorable text message relationship.

What they don't know is that Seth is a new football player and Carrie's brother recruited him because they are old college buddies. So when Seth needs a babysitter for his tween daughter, Carrie who is desperate for a job and a place to live, ends up as the nanny. Seth's nanny and so the relationship is taboo for the brother friend thing as well as the I am the boss thing.

But Seth and Carrie are in HUGE lust for the other and I loved watching these two fight their feelings and fall in love. This was a fun and romantic story and I truly loved every second.

This novel is all about the slow burn. It starts with an awkward meet cute at the grocery store where Carrie helps single dad Seth with a problem. Then by a twist of fate Seth turns out to be Carrie's new employer. Carrie is the nanny to his tweenage daughter so that makes her off limits. This is a dual point of view story so we know exactly how much they want one another. I loved that Carrie was a cosplaying comic nerd. The story seemed a little rushed at the end. It could've used an epilogue.

On the Line is a sweet love story between single dad Seth and unemployed teacher Carrie. Their story is well developed and very honest from a single dad's perspective. However, the story is written in third person narrative that takes away from the connection the author wants the reader to make with these characters. I really wanted to love this story but at the end I felt like I only finished because I was already too invested to stop. I'm giving this love story three chili peppers.

I really loved this one! It was different from most sport romances I have read. I enjoyed the whole nanny angle. Plus the characters met in a unique way and the story line was really good. Seth and Carrie were interesting to read about, not the normal romcom sport hook uo. I would read more by this author, and recommend her to my friends. 5 stars

This book started out with a fun premise - an out-of-work teacher gets a job as nanny for a hunky NFL player who is just trying to do his best with his 12-year-old daughter. The daughter is unhappy about having been moved away to Milwaukee because her dad got traded. But, as luck would have it, the new nanny shares her interest in comics and so they bond and things start getting better except for the pesky detail that Carrie is deeply attracted to her boss, Seth Chamberlain. He’s also attracted to her, but they agree that they have to ignore their mutual attraction because he’s her boss and he doesn’t want to wreck a good situation that is helping his daughter. I liked that she was a bit nerdy and had this connection with the daughter.

I liked the set-up, but then the book spent a hefty portion of its time with Carrie and Seth desiring each other, making out, then stopping. Or finally giving in, but having to hide it. The plot and characters took a back seat to their sexual longing and the writing went downhill.

As a teacher, I also didn’t buy the premise that a popular teacher with six years experience teaching middle-school science couldn’t find a teaching job in a city the size of Milwaukee. Science teachers are hard to find and she would have been snapped up very quickly. I also didn’t buy that the sister of a college football player who is now a professional scout for the team would be so clueless about the sport and not seem to know the most basic elements of the game.

I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

I hate to say but this book just didn't do it for me, I could not really connect with the characters and let me tell you but I was excited at first. I do like single dads, love myself some hot athletic guys, but just couldn't couldn't couldn't get into it..Sorry folks.

On the Line by Liz Lincoln is an easy yet "angsty" read. The characters feel real. And their connection is hot. Their problems and worries similar to those of an average person. But, throw in an NFL career and all the "benefits" that can come with that lifestyle and you get some funny perdicaments. The storyline can be a bit predictable but there is enough twists to keep it interesting.

I. Loved. This. Book.

I’ve never read anything by this author (and I don’t even know if this is her first or 23rd book!) but I will be checking her out now. I love the forbidden romance trope, so this was right up my alley. And let me tell you, Seth is the hottest book boyfriend I’ve come across in quite a while. Loved the whole thing. Now I’m off to find out what else Liz Lincoln has written!

This was the first book I've read by this author. I can't wait to see where (hopefully) the best book takes us.
I love a good sports romance

I really enjoyed this book... The first for my by this author and can't wait to continue the series.

Seth Chamberlain: single dad who's a professional football player,

Carrie Heron: science teacher who is into comics and cosplay.

This story although I feel like we need more of Seth and Carrie as if they have more to tell; even an epilogue would have given something more, a closing of sorts however, I would definitely still recommend this. Well-written with characters you can connect to. I couldn't put this down; didn't want it to end and finished it in one sitting.

Two people who meet at the grocery store - a single dad shopping for his twelve year old daughter and an unemployed science teacher currently down on her luck. They make a connection and start a sequence of events that neither expected.

Then a turn/twist as they realize who the other is and why everything that they have been looking forward to and want; the connection that can't go any further.

The sexual tension between these two is everything at times and when they can no longer separate the personal and the professional are the risks they are about to take worth it?

Dive in and read the story of Seth and Carrie you will not be disappointed.!

I wanted to connect with this book, but I just couldn't sadly

This book was exactly what I was in the mood for- a low angst, fun, book to escape into for a few hours. I liked the characters and their connection. Seth's daughter was a true to life 12 year old girl and reading about his relationship with her was great. Was this book perfect? No. The flirty texts they send each other were not at all sexy which made me laugh a few times and there were other nit picky things but none of it took away from my overall enjoyment of this book. I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and look forward to seeing what author writes next.

I'm a sucker for a good (hot) love story and I've always felt that the world of professional sports is the perfect setting. At first glance, On the Line had all the trappings to be a consumable and racy read. NFL player meets woman at the grocery store, has an instant connection and then finds out she's his daughter's new nanny? Perfect scenario for all types of drama and heat to ensue. Unfortunately though, the writing just wasn't up to snuff for me. There's very little that annoys me more than the constant repetition of the same turn of phrase - and this one had it in spades. On top of that, some of the chemistry and connection between the two seemed both rushed and forced. Much of it didn't feel like a seamless, natural progression between the two. The bones where there for sure, but I was left wanting more.
