Thank you Columbus Press and Netgalley for an ARC in return for my honest opinion.

This book pulled me into the lives of the characters amd kept my interest throughout.

Unfortunately, this novel didn't manage to hold my attention and I had to stop reading around the middle, feeling frustrated with what seemed like a waste of valuable reading time. The characters are one-dimensional and do not convince the reader of their authenticity, while the dialogue is stilted and awkward. It is clear that the writer wants to make a point under the religious/Christian perspective but the result is a rather forced storyline which is just the medium for the author to convey his message. I cannot recommend the book to anyone except those who are fond of the Christian aspect in literature and art in general.

The Husband Is a heart wrenching story. It takes you on the journey of the husband and the wife's life. The husband has mental problems and you cannot really blame him after all he has been through. The wife is very manipulative. The author reels you in emotionally and you go on the ride and at times it is really rough. The story is realistic, too many marriages today are like this - how? Well that is something you have to find out for yourself.

While I was a bit distracted with The Husband and The Wife names , the book was still really interesting. It was sad, and also real. I can see how The Husband and The Wife each had their own manipulative sides, it just shows how each deals with a horrific, stressful situation.

Thank you to author, publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free, it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.
