Unfortunately I requested this book not knowing it was book 6 of a series. I did try to read a few times but couldn't connect with it

I liked parts of this story. It's short as it goes along the authors series: Guardian Saga. I haven't read the rest of the series, and while I understood most of what was happening, I'm sure I would have enjoyed this one more had I read them in order. That said, after reading this, I do plan to read the rest of the series.

Well, this is awkward... I thought this book was the start of a new series.... turns out it is the 6TH in the series. I did make it to about 15% of the book and although I could have battled on through the fact that I was missing so much would have impacted my understanding and therefore my review.
From what I did read I found the writing rich and yet easy to follow.

The description is right, it does work as a stand alone. You do get a sense that you are missing something at the other books will add to it and some might find it frustrating.
It was a difficult read, but those who are fans of the series will love it.

It is an interesting idea but I could not completely finish it. The book blub says it could be a stand alone and I can see it. The idea of "angels" and recantation is interesting but something seemed to be missing. I wanted more on how the whole angel system worked but not so.

I was not a fan of this novel. I feel as if it is missing something. Overall, I just could not get into the story

Got to 20% but couldn't keep going. Wanted to love this but it lacked compelling interest.
