This is a great escapist read about three college friends, and their families, as they embark on a cruise. I highly recommend this book for spring break or summer reading - or even the middle of winter if you are missing sunshine and fruity drinks.

I enjoy reading a classic "beach book". The story is about a group of friends from college who now have careers, spouses/partners, and children . They meet up on a Caribbean cruise to celebrate a wedding anniversary. Happy Reading!

I received an ARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

Novel about three college roommates who, 25 or so years after graduation, go together (with their families) on a summer cruise to the Bahamas, each with their own issues. Not a particularly unique book, but a quick cute read, good for summer and/or vacation.

This is a cute book about a group of friends vacationing together on a cruise. At times, I felt like I was on the cruise with them and then once they got to Bermuda, I felt like I was there in the pink sand with them too. This is a great summer read for anyone!

Abby, Caroline, and Lee are best friends dating back to their college years when they all roomed together. Years later, Abby and her husband Sam are celebrating their 20th wedding anniversary with a cruise and a renewal of vows on the shores of Bermuda. Joining them on the cruise are their twin boys, Caroline and her boyfriend Javier, and Lee and her daughter Lacey. As they board the cruise, each family unit is harboring secrets of some sort - Caroline desperately wants to get married and is thinking about giving Javier an ultimatum; Lacey, home for the summer after her first year of college, is late (in the female way, not the white rabbit way); and Abby is dealing with serious health issues that only Sam knows about and she needs to find a way to tell her best friends.

I've never been on a cruise before, but this book definitely made me think about wanting to go. I definitely want to go to Bermuda for vacation!

The story, however, was just ok. I enjoyed the relationship between the three women and love the idea of a friendship lasting so long with yearly reunions. I can totally relate to reverting back to your college self when you get around your old college friends (I do the same). However, each of their dilemmas seemed to get resolved and wrapped up way too easily. I usually don't like a huge amount of conflict in stories, but with this book, there wasn't enough. I gave it three stars, but I'd say it's somewhere between two and three stars.

Thank you to Netgalley and Touchstone for an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Great read for the beach or cozying up on the couch. I flew through this book in about a day. I felt like the women could have been my circle of friends in college.

Hoping maybe we will get a sequel to this one - hint, hint Wendy : )

What a fun enjoyable guilty pleasure of a read. This book read like an hallmark movie. A few tough topics that were tackled with love and friendship. I was sad to see this one end.

This was the perfect end of summer book for reading by the pool or the beach. This is a nicely written story of 3 women now in their forties who were friends in college. They decide to take a cruise together with their families in tow to celebrate together the anniversary one of the group. What they learn is that their friendships are endearing , the fun and laughter never ends and they stay friends beyond the cruise. I enjoyed it as a chick lit book about strong female friendships. Reading about the cruise ship was a fun aspect of this book. A enjoyable read. Thank you for the ARC which does not influence my review.

Three college friends getting together for their yearly catch-up decided on a cruise paid for by Abby and her husband.

Abby had a loving husband, twin boys, and a secret.

Lee was a single mother with a college-aged daughter who had problems of her own.

Caroline was single and hoping her boyfriend of three years would propose to her on the cruise.

All the characters worked well with each other. Ms. Francis made each character come alive with most being likable.

The story line was pleasant and made you want to go on a cruise to Bermuda as well as think about all your blessings.

If you need a pick me up and an idea for getting back together with friends from your younger years, THE SUMMER SAIL will make you want to give your best girlfriends a call and suggest meeting.

THE SUMMER SAIL was a lovely change of pace for me. This book is about love, friendship, caring, and learning to live life to the fullest.

There were some nice quotes to think about as well.

ENJOY when you read THE SUMMER SAIL. 4/5

This book was given to me as an ARC by the author. All opinions are my own.

The Summer Sail is a cute chick lit read about three former college roommates, now in their 40s, who go on a cruise together with their families to celebrate one friend's 20th wedding anniversary. Anyone who has close friends from college, but time or distance has separated you, will relate to this story. Once they are reunited on the cruise, it has like no time has passed, though they all have news and secrets to share with each other.

This was an easy read, and only took me a few hours to get through the whole book. While it is mostly a light story, there are a few arcs that remind us life is fragile and we should cherish the time we get with those that we love.

A very enjoyable summer read about 3 college roommates who became best friends and still get together with their families. This vacation sees them off on a cruise ship where they will relax, and celebrate a 20 year vow renewal and help each other with their current problematic situations. This is my first time reading a book by this author and I look forward to more books by her.

This is the first novel I have read by this author, and I now plan on reading her other novels. I appreciated the friendship and family dynamics throughout the story; especially the emphasis of how friends can become family. I enjoyed watching each character mature and related to each of their stories in different ways. Thank you NetGalley and Touchstone for making this title available.

The epitome of chick lit, this was a sweet story of three female college friends who go on a cruise with their families to celebrate the 20-year wedding anniversary of one of women. It was fast-paced (I read it in about 4 hours) and while it didn’t have a lot of depth, there was a fair degree of character development. The cruise ship and Bermuda settings make for a likeable beach read.

This was terrific beach read - in fact a terrific read for anywhere! It was so well done that I really felt as relaxed as I'd feel on an actual cruise myself. The characters were believable and likeable. I found the story line kept me very interested in what would happen next. Strongly recommend!! A sequel would be a great book to look forward to!

When you think of a summer women's fiction novel, this is the book that should now come to mind. Three women have been friends since college and they often take vacations to reconnect. This year one of them decides to combine the vacation with a celebration of their wedding anniversary and the girls plus their families. So off they go from Boston to Bermuda . . .

I loved that the story equally focused on each of the three ladies. Each had something going on, but nothing felt overtly dramatic. It was no where near soap opera level drama as I explained to my mom, it was "normal people drama." They each had a full story but nothing overshadowed one or the other.

I loved the setting. A summertime cruise to Bermuda was so fun. I have only cruised once, but reading this book made me giggle a few times at the honest moments that everyone has on a cruise - the joy of finding a quiet nook on the ship or the realization that there is food available at all times of the day and how to not continuously eat!

This book was just the right thing to read over a summer weekend by the pool or on our boat! I loved that it had a great plot, some good character feelings and just the right setting. This elevated Wendy Francis to an author I want to watch out for!

I love to cruise, and when I find a book that takes place on a cruise, I have to have it! I'm so excited I came across this book. It was a great read! The characters were well developed, the story line had me wondering what would happen next, and I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of this book. It's the perfect summer read, whether or not you'll find yourself on a cruise this year!

The idea of celebrating a 20th anniversary and renewal of vows via a cruise certainly fits the bill for a good summer beachy read. Abby and her college roommates have made a point of getting together over the years. Even though their personal lives have taken different directions, they find the time together rejuvenating. Abby decides to host everyone on a Bermuda cruise to celebrate her and her husband, Sam's twentieth anniversary, while keeping secret from their family and friends some future hardship. Although I have never been on a cruise, I found the descriptions of daily life on board the ship to be interesting and the descriptions of Bermuda to be stunning. Career driven Caroline and single mom Lee round out the trio. Everyone has something to both hide and share it seems, during this year's reunion of friends.
