This book was underwhelming. The plot centers on Mona and Steve who like to play but aren’t finding gratification with each other anymore. Enter Roy, who becomes Mona’s fantasy. Mona and Steve talk a lot about what they’re feeling but not completely, and magically Roy knows how to fix it all. I found myself skipping entire paragraphs of this book just to get through it faster because the writing style and plot were weak.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an arc in exchange for an honest review.

This was a really quick read and while I quite liked it for me it would have been better if it was longer as it felt like something was missing. It was still worth a read and I did like the characters and their exploration of the BDSM lifestyle

The third book of the Silken Edge series focus on Mona’s and Steven’s story. The couple have been exploring BDSM lifestyle but lately they seem to have sexual problems and they both end talking to Kristy about it and asking for help. Kristy is about to give birth and so Roy jumps in to take care of the gym and from what it seems of Mona’s and Steve’s problem. The story becomes a threesome and the author narrates a triangle of inter-exchanging dominance and submission.

In this book the author focus more of exploring this unique triad and I would say fails to develop her characters in depth.

If you are into hard BDSM I think you will enjoy it. If not you may be shocked by the hard multi-role sex scenes.

I usually finish all kind of erotica I choose, even though the story might not be as good as the cover look like. This book ain't reaching the level of normal erotica. The beginning is quite interesting but after a few chapter, it starts to get boring. There are no levels in the story and it is surrounded bout how Mona and Steven solved the problem around sex. Overall not quite reach my expectation. This book happens to be boring to me, indeed very boring.

Silken Kisses by Laci Paige. I've read a past book in this series, enjoyed it and this one hasn't disappointed me. I enjoyed reading more about the characters, the spicy content and storyline. I hope to read more by this author in the future.

This book left a lot to be desired. I didn't really feel the chemistry between Mona and Steven. I thought she had more sparks with Roy and for the first time I was rooting for the other guy. Either way, this book just didn't really sit well with me and the ending felt like it should have been the beginning of a great story.

Pretty good romance. It left me hanging. I would have liked more. Good sex scenes though.

Okay, this one was a different read. It took me a few days to get into this book, however, once that I did, I couldn't put it down. I loved the way that it ends and won't give it away, you have to read the whole thing.

This is the story of Steven and Mona. They have been together for a year now and have been venturing into learning more about BDSM and how they can satisfy each others needs. They come against a few dilemmas, such as their sexual frustrations in the bedroom, Steven learning more about Mona's sexuality, them both being switches, and having to come to a decision whether to bring others into the relationship to satisfy their desires.

This is a solid story. It is a very quick read. There was not mush angst, in my opinion, which was good. The author made their situation cut and dry. I wish the ending was extended to show more play with Roy. He ramped this story up!!!!

At one point, I did not even care about Steven and Mona's interaction due to the introduction of Roy. While Steven and Mona was blah, Roy was SIZZLING!!!! He was sexy, an alpha male, he knew how to treat a lady, and knew what he wanted. I kept wanting there to be more play with him. I was waiting for him to show his skills. Roy's decisiveness balanced out Steven and Mona's wavering attitude. There was more chemistry between Roy and Mona than with her and Steven.

The character development for the main characters was lacking for me. Steven was weak. He was missing in action (mainly at work) while another man was getting her hot and showing Mona what it truly means to dominated. I do not think he showed his dominant side anywhere throughout the story. The author made all the other men in the story more appealing than him. Roy and Jonathan were burning off the pages. I do not think Mona was truly bi-sexual. It just seemed like she experimented early in her life. I do not think that was a big issue (even though Steven made it a big deal) since she had not dated a woman in years, she was in love with him, and she had no desires to be with a woman. I did not see her as a dominant either. I was not convinced at all.

As I said before, this was a quick read. The greatest redeeming quality was Roy. He kept me wanting to read about him. I wish Roy had his own story.

When I first opened the book I was like, I don't know if this is for me. Then I was like oh, husband. Get naked! We're trying something new tonight. This wasn't my typical cup of tea, but sometimes it's good to change things up, right?

The cover is gorgeous, as soon as I saw it, I needed  to know more. If I'm being honest, I wasn't sure what to make of it. But the last few books I've read have been a little cookie cutter and boring. I needed something different - an author I'm not familiar with and a book about BDSM.

I was nervous going into this. When I read,  relate to the characters; I see myself in their shoes and I worried this might get darker than I'm comfortable with. However, I had no reason to worry. In fact, although some scenes weren't things I would be comfortable trying myself (the broom closet for example) I was struck by the level of caring and trust the characters extended to each other.

If you've read my other reviews, you might have realized by now how important emotional intimacy is for me. I'm all for a good sexy scene but I need to believe the characters are enjoying it, otherwise it's just awkward. This book brings the emotional connection I need to see. Not only that, but it brought it in a way I haven't seen before.

Laci Paige gave us a very honest look at a problem many people have in the bedroom. She gave us a solution, many people would think is too taboo to even consider. While at the same time making sure I as a reader could relate to the characters to such an extent that had I been in those situations, I'm sure I would have made the same choices. Not an easy thing to do.

I love books featuring a strong female. At first I wasn't expecting Mona to be so strong but by the end she found herself and it was remarkable to watch that transformation. I didn't relate to Steven as much as I wanted to however, Mona more than made up for it.

There was one thing I didn't like about this book and that's why I've given it 4 stars instead of 5. Mona tells Steven she once dated another female. Steven decides he needs time alone to process the information, Mona starts worring about how he'll see her now. It feels strange for a book that deals with the BDSM subculture, which from my limited understanding is overwhelmingly accepting of all genders, body types and sexual orientations, to act like being bisexual or gay is anything other than normal much less something to be ashamed of.

I should also probably mention Silken Kisses is the third book in a series. I didn't read the first two, and I was still able to follow the story pretty easily. It seemes the characters over lap but the story itself can be read as a stand-alone.

Silken Kisses is a well-written, engaging read that I would recommend to everybody but my mom.
