Megan and Alex. This story gave me ALL. THE. FEELS.

I honestly don’t even know how to put into words all that I felt about this story by Samantha Chase. Yes, the relationship and how the two characters meet starts out very light and easy, and yes, they don’t stay together right away, but this story has deeper issues to it that made it so much more special to me as a reader. And when they come together, it’s amazing in every way.

This book will just not disappoint you. It talks about life, finding a new reason to live, letting go of guilt, living your life to the fullest. I literally could not put this book down and you won’t be able to either!

It was very well developed, the story line was perfectly written and I genuinely loved every character. I always wonder how Samantha Chase will manage to outdo herself, and yet, she still does it every single time. Pick up this book. Now. Just go do yourself a favor because I know you’ll love this just as much as I did!

I didn’t realize this was so late in the series when I requested it, and I’m not caught up. 2022 goals.

There were a lot of good points here with a great premise as well as a wonderful male lead in Alex. Healing and love always go a long way to making a story worth reading. Even better is when there's a really good epilogue to carry through all the heart we'd come to love up to that point. This book had those things so there is a lot to recommend.

What didn't work as well for me was how we were told everything. Rather than showing us, the writing told the story down to the minutiae and it dragged the story out far beyond what was necessary or even tolerable. Megan was understandable, but it was the willful stubbornness that she kept going and going and going down a path that had gotten her poor results before. She became unlikeable at times and I was rooting for the relationship merely because Alex deserved what his heart wanted. They pulled it out in the end, but I can't say Megan's attitude, treatment of Alex, or her secret were compelling in the least.

As mentioned before, it was the bones of the story and the epilogue that rescued it and while it wasn't my favorite, it wasn't a bad book by any means. Just not my cup of tea in the end.

Megan and Alex met at a wedding, hooked up, made promises that they didn't keep, and moved on with their lives. Well, they tried to move on but neither was very successful. Megan got a new job and moved to the same town Alex is in. She knew that they would run into each other since they had the same friends but wasn't sure how she would feel when she saw him. Alex was surprised when he walked into his friend's house and Megan, the girl he hasn't been able to get out of his head or heart, was there. I loved how they circled each other, were cordial, and how they didn't really know how to react to each other. Their being together again was not quick, easy, and relaxed. There was worry, frustration, and embarrassment before they could figure out how to be together. It was real, with feelings, with doubts, and wonderful.

I loved how stand-up Alex was. He didn't just jump back into a relationship. He questioned Megan on what she wanted, expecting complete honesty. He was also there when she needed him but did his best to give her space so that there would be no regrets or quick decisions that would come back to haunt them. Alex also was great at pushing her from her comfort zone, pushing her to be outside, pushing her to change her habits, and pushing her to accept her feelings for him while not pushing her so hard that she ran from him.

The Montgomery Brother's are wonderful. All so sweet, sexy, protective, and loving. Alex and Megan's story is the perfect addition to this series. It is wonderful that each book is its own complete story but you do get to catch up with the characters from the other books in this series. I believe that you can pick up any book in the series or pick them all up and read them in any order thoroughly enjoying them all.

I loved this book! It reads as a very sweet story, unfolding perfectly as you read. I found it to be a perfect way to relax over the weekend! I can't wait to see more from this author.

Alex and Megan meet the weekend of her cousin's wedding and have a wild and hot weekend together. Fast forward two years and a failed long-distance relationship in the bag, Alex sets out to prove to Megan that he is the man for her, now that they are in the same city again! With everything cleared between them during their separation, their relationship takes off hot and quickly. You can feel the love that is between Megan and Alex in which I adored. The secondary characters like in all of Mrs. Chase's story I love so much, they make everything perfect and perfectly hilarious!

This is the 7th book in the Montgomery family series. Samantha Chase never fails to pull me in with her stellar writing! This book is about the Montgomery cousin Megan. Megan moves cross country to work for her cousin Zach and runs into her fling Alex. The chemistry is still there but Megan tries to fight it. I loved how Megan came into her own in this book. I loved this second chance romance!

They’d gone walking through the garden that was lit with twinkly lights, and Alex had surprised her with a kiss. And that was the moment she knew she wasn’t going to her hotel alone.

Until There Was Us is the seventh installment in Samantha Chase’s Montgomery Brothers series. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed other books I’ve read by Samantha – and impulsively decided to dive into this one without reading any of the prior books. Sadly, in hindsight, that wasn’t the best decision with this book because, while I enjoyed it, I feel that I would have liked it lots more if I’d had a prior connection to the characters. This is the second-chance-at-love story of workaholic computer whiz Megan Montgomery and sexy physical therapist Alex Rebat.

Megan and Alex met and hooked up - which was totally out-of-character for Megan – at her cousin’s wedding. For three months, the two tried to keep the magic sizzling between them even though they lived on opposite sides of the country. However, when Megan stood Alex up when he’d flown three thousand miles to see her, all appeared to be over between them. As the story opens, in a game-changing move, Megan has accepted a job with her cousin which just happens to be located near Alex. Even though Megan refuses to admit it, the image of Alex and her tangled up together refuses to budge from her mind… and she held out hope of seeing him again. Unbeknownst to Megan, Alex can’t seem to move on either.

I liked Alex from the start but it took me most of the book to warm up to Megan. Thankfully, she redeemed herself in the end as their wonderful and surprising HEA was happily in sight. Supporting characters played big parts in this tale – and there’s lots of cute baby and baby-in-waiting moments.

Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from Until There Was Us:

Alex whispered her name as he gently pressed his lips to hers.
Oh…
---

His name was a whispered plea before she said, “Promise to not let me leave tonight.”
Lifting his head, Alex gave her a wicked smile. “Sweetheart, that was never going to be an option,” he said before he silenced her with a another kiss.”
---

Alex stood and stretched. “You know it’s required that when you go on a beach vacation, you have to wear a bikini, right?”
She came to her feet and considered him for a moment. “I did not know that. But I’m not sure that’s the right look on you.”

Until There Was Us is teeming with delicious sexual tension. Unfortunately, it took me a bit to get into the story and the characters. Normally, I love, love, love Samantha’s books. Because of my experience, I’d recommend that this book not be read as a standalone. Even so, Until There was Us is a well-written contemporary romance. I hope to read this series from the first soon as I do want to catch the other characters’ stories.

Have you ever stumbled into a series at the end of it?? That was me and finding the Montgomery Brothers series from Samantha Chase. I had no clue what I had been missing out on!! Anyway, this second chance romance was incredible! I loved the time I spent with Alex and Megan in Until There Was Us.

These two hooked up at a wedding and then went their separate ways. No hard feelings or bad blood. It was a very pleasant experience for both of them ... which is probably why neither one of them forgot about the other.

Alex and Megan's journey to happily ever after is filled with angst and passion as well as hilarity. I easily slipped into their world and I didn't want to leave it. I adored the main characters as well as all of the secondary players in the book - everyone is this book is worth meeting. I promise!

Samantha Chase is easily becoming one of my favorite authors and an automatic one-click. I cannot recommend her books enough. Don't miss out on this series but do start at the beginning because I went back after I read this one and devoured them all.

3.75 Hearts Another book about second chances. But Chase does a pretty good job on this story.

Alex and Megan hooked up after a wedding but years later they have the chance to see if there is something real there. The relationship is good and the characters have a chemistry.

This is a really good book to take you out of your head for a while. Nothing that you need to use brain power on but interesting enough to keep you interested.

I received a complimentary copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.

Megan and Alex had met two years ago and the problem is neither one can get the other one off of their minds, but no one has done anything about it. Megan does like to take chances so when she is moving to the town where her sister lives and also Alex she feels she must do everything to make sure that she does not run into Alex. When he finds out he does everything to find her and then try to get her to agree that they should be together. For me the middle of the book is slow because just when you think she is going to let go she does not, when you start to get to the end the book picks up. Not what I usually get when I read this author but I can’t like every single one and I am sure some of it just me.

Until There Was Us was wonderful addition to the Montgomery Brothers series from Samantha Chase. While I’ve missed a few of the books in the Montgomery Brothers series, I’ve been able to pick back up on stories without feeling lost at all. I was so excited to see we were getting Megan’s story with Until There Was Us.

I’ll just say right up front I loved Megan from the moment we met her. She is such a hard worker and has a crazy-strong work ethic. I think part of why I loved Megan so much is because she isn’t your regular heroine. She isn’t super confident in most areas of her life other than her work life. Thanks to stuff from her childhood mostly, she hides her amazing talent for crochet and everything thinks she is buying all the gifts she makes. I loved she was way more happy in yoga pants and sweatshirts than fancy clothes, but when she dresses up she looks every bit as amazing as she did in her yoga pants. I have to say I think Alex really does help Megan come out of her shell and see how amazing she truly is the more time they are together.

Alex Rebat is pretty sigh worthy from the moment we meet him. He honestly could appear almost too perfect at times, yet there is still something about him that gave off a bit of vulnerability too. I loved that while he accepts Megan as the workaholic she is, he also wants to help her step outside her comfort zone by exploring new things. It was almost like Alex knew what limits he had, as he never seemed to push Megan too far outside her comfort zone. I also love that he and Megan shared so much with each other that they didn’t share with others. Megan trusted Alex with her love of her hobby even before she told any of her family members, even those she talked to about everything. I just fell in love with Megan and Alex as a couple the more time they spent together.

I honestly worried because of how everything ended between them after the wedding hookup; they might have issues getting past it. However, they had such a connection and such amazing chemistry, I felt like the more time the spent together the more I knew they would fight to be together. I love when I read a romance and fall in love with the couple, and with Alex and Megan, I fell in love with them as much as they fell in love with each other.

Until There Was Us was an emotion filled romance that pulled me in and made me want more. I find myself falling more and more in love with the various family members in Samantha Chase’s books with each new story I read. I highly recommend her books to romance readers who love contemporary romances.

Until There Was Us is AMAZING!!!! Alex and Megan's story is so much more than your usual second chance love story which is what makes Samantha Chase the brilliant author that she is!! They meet at her cousin's wedding and spend an incredible weekend together but when it's over she leaves to go back to her life. Fast forward a couple of years and Megan moves back to work for her cousin who's friends with Alex. Alex had a tragedy in his past that he still carries guilt for and Megan is a workaholic. With the help of someone who knows how precious life is Alex and Megan learn about LOVE and life and what 's really important in the grand scheme of things. This BOOK is so beautifully written that you feel like you're going through this with them. I would definitely recommend this book!! I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion

Temporary ... to forever? With a new book in her ever-popular Montgomery Brothers series, Samantha Chase brings us Megan's story. It's a fun read with sexy characters, fun family connections and lots of sass!

Workaholic Megan Montgomery isn't known for throwing caution to the wind and just living all that often, but she managed to do just that a couple of years ago with the sexy groomsman at her cousins wedding. She's been swamped with work ever since, but she hasn't ever forgotten the things he made her feel ... and it just so happens, she's moving to his neck of the woods!

Physical therapist Alex Rebat adored his weekend with Megan and even tried to make a long-distance thing work between them for a short time afterwards, but he had to give up when it became obvious she just wasn't that into him. He's surprised to see her at her cousin's house when he stops by ... and even though he hasn't found anyone quite like her in the last two years, he's hesitant to trust her when she says she's changed.

I love the Montgomery family and was happy to be reunited with them in the seventh book of the series, Until There Was Us. This is Megan and Alex’s story and it took me on an emotional roller coaster. The prologue set the stage and took place two years before the story begins. The epilogue was a nice surprise and takes place two months after the story ends. I look forward to reading more in this series since there seems to be more stories to tell.

Megan is very insecure in her approach to life. She’s always second guessing herself especially when it’s in relation to her family and her personal life. Her dad thought she was going to get married and raise a family when she got older so she didn’t need to have a career, especially not in the family business. Megan feels she has to work harder to prove herself so she can work at Montgomerys. Enter Alex who throws her for a loop two years ago when they meet at her cousin Zach’s wedding. There was instant chemistry and attraction but it falls apart a few months later since she’s a workaholic and can’t separate from her job or is that just an excuse? It doesn’t help that they live on opposite coasts either. When she and Alex unexpectedly meet up when she relocates to Oregon to work in the family business and where he happens to live the chemistry is still there but she’s not sure what to do about it because of the demands of her job. He has a demanding job as a physical therapist but manages to have friends and a life outside of work. Watching them take a step forward and two or three back was often heartbreaking since they approach life so differently. It doesn’t help that she doesn’t do relationships.

There are family and friends, family dynamics, babies, patience, discussions, heart to heart talks, helpful hints, advice and suggestions, work, memories good and bad, shopping sprees, relaxation techniques, tears, anger, hurt, sadness, fear, anxiety, sorrow, secrets, laughter, get-togethers, chocolate, sightseeing, romance, loving and ultimately love. There is a nice flow to the story and a depth to the characters and what helped mold them to who they are today. There are walls to break down and lots of support to get there. There is a happily-ever-after that I didn’t expect that only left me wanting more.

Chase is an author whose books I’ve always enjoyed. I look forward to reading more of her books filled with romance, loving and love along with lots and lots of family.

I am a big fan of second chance romance reads and Samantha Chase has done a really great job with this story. this story covered everything about second chance romances that I love as it had the love between the characters but also it had the suspense of not knowing if the characters will let go off past hurts to get together. I really wanted these two characters together because they had a lot of chemistry and I I loved them together.

Until There Was Us is book seven of the Montgomery Brothers Series. The book is based on Megan Montgomery and a groomsman she had a night with at a family members wedding. Two years later and they still think about each other. After moving closer to her cousins she meets back up with him. I loved the relationship progression and how all the character interact. I was not disappointed in this book. In fact I have read it more than once.

The Montgomery's are at it again with their matchmaking ways... except now they are moving to the cousins.

Megan met Alex almost two years ago at her cousin's wedding. They instantly had a connection but after a weekend together and a few months of communication... Megan blew it. The distance and her workaholic ways did nothing to help the situation out.

Now two years later Megan has moved to Portland as the IT person for her cousin's branch of the family business. She's thrilled about it, except there's only one thing. Alex lives in Portland and she just knows that he hates her after she blew their last opportunity together.

But when the two finally see each other again... the chemistry is still there, but now it's even more than it was the last time.

The only problem is that Megan is still married to her job. But the attraction and pull towards Alex is more powerful than ever. Can she have her cake and eat it too? And will Alex be patient enough to wait for just a little longer until she figures it all out?

I loved the push and pull between Alex and Megan. I can always get lost in a great book by Samantha and highly recommend this series!
