What a beautiful second chance romance. Samantha Chase should be on everyone’s list for a go-to author when you are looking for a heart-warming, wonderful romance that is filled with everything you could ask for, plus a whole lot more.
I loved Megan and Alex’s story. I loved how relatable they are. How their struggles mirror so many of our own. Talk about a story with characters you feel connected to because you understand a lot of what they are going through. This also made me take stock in what my priorities are and where my focus is vs. where it should be
.
I adore the Montgomery’s, as I do everything I’ve read from Samantha Chase. She is definitely one of the authors I read that I highly recommend to everyone I know who reads romance!

This is the 7th book in this contemporary series and we are brought back into the family. Megan is a workaholic. She never takes time to date or do much of anything outside of working for the family company. She is the only daughter looking to take an active role in the business and she strives to prove that she belongs there.
Alex is a physical therapist. He has a flexible schedule and makes time for his family and friends. Alex helped one of Megan's cousins come back from a major accident and become an honorary family member. He fell hard for Megan after a brief affair 2 years ago. Now she has moved to town. It will take all of his charm and help from his friends to win Megan over for the long-term.

5 PERFECTLY WRITTEN STARS!! This is my favorite Montgomery book. I loved Megan and Alex's story, it was heartfelt with all the feels. The story had me smiling and crying and flipping pages. Samantha Chase always gives us readers phenomenal stories that stick with you forever. I Highly recommend this book to any romance reader. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

This was really fun, sexy, but also emotional romance. I loved that Megan and Alex got a second chance and were such a perfect fit for each other.

5 So Much More Than Second Chance Stars!!!
With every Montgomery Brothers book that Ms. Chase writes the more I love this family. This book in particular for some reason resonated with me more than the others. That may have something to do with the fact that I was alternately, swooning, bawling my eyes out and laughing uproariously thanks to a camping trip that Alex and Megan took!
Alex and Megan met at a family wedding two years ago and Monica Montgomery was all about testing out her matchmaking skills....unfortunately, the first time around it didn't stick, but when they find themselves in the same city thanks to a new job for Megan, everything changes.
I loved watching Megan grow both emotionally thanks to taking time to live life a little more than she had in the past. She realized that life is passing her by and if she wants a chance with Alex things have to change. As for our hero, he's a man that has a demon living in his heart that as I mentioned above literally had me full out crying when it comes to a precipice.
There's something about Alex and Megan that just makes sense and while they have to at times fight for what they want, in the end when it comes to a forever love, every battle scar, those we can see and especially those we don't see, are worth it to have the kind of love they have.
This book is high on emotion and a story that will grab your heart, niggle it's way in there and never leave!

I received a copy of this book from NetGalley to read in exchange for a fair review. Until There Was Us is one of Samantha Chase’s Montgomery Brothers novels. This one is about a Montgomery sister though. Megan Montgomery is a workaholic, so much so that she has let work consume her life entirely and that cost her a promising relationship with Alex Rebat after they met at her cousins wedding 2 years ago. Deciding to make changes she takes a new job in Portland where Alex lives in hopes that perhaps they can start over. Alex has been thinking about Megan and wondering, so when he finds out she is moving to Portland he can’t wait to see her and find out if what they had is still there. A lovely romance about figuring out who you are and what is important to you. I enjoyed reading it very much. Quite steamy. Publishing date May 1, 2018 #UntilThereWasUs #NetGalley

Second chance romance at its best!!!! The Montgomery clan is a close net family that is always is in each other business. Love the depth that Samantha Chase has built in her latest book. Alex and Megan face of challenges of life and family that draws them together and tears them apart. I think that this is Samantha Chase's best book ever.

I love a good second chance romance and this had everything I love. Megan is a great, relatable character from how she enjoys her family to her secret passion for making baby clothes. Alex is a hero to love with his inability to move on from that girl who was just a fling. He has so many admirable qualities, including how, after so many years he refuses to give up on a patient and a friend. The chemistry between Alex and Megan was outstanding. I am not sure I've read any others in the series, but I didn't feel at all lost. In fact, it felt like I fit right in with the family and wanted to be a Montgomery myself. I look forward to exploring more in this series. I received a copy via Netgalley for review.

This was a fun and lovely romance.
We see Megan and Alex. They hooked up two years ago, and it was something neither of them ever forgot or was able to moved on. Now, they meet again, because Megan just moved into town, so now they are within distance, lol.
Anyway, I loved Alex and Megan, I loved their chemistry, their time together was hot, flirty and full of tension, because no one was supposed to know they knew each other from the past. That added some pretty interesting interactions.
I loved Megan’s independent spirit, although sometimes it was just stubbornness, lol. I also loved that Alex added that little extra fun she needed in her life. And I loved her secret hobby!
All in all, it was such a fun read, a perfect romance to get a little cozy at home.
*Thank you to the author for providing a copy for which I’m giving my honest opinion*

** spoiler alert ** This book is part of a series and there are back stories and plots that it assumes the reader knows. Bumping this up to 4 stars because it is an enjoyable, fast read and because I love the rest of this series - even though there was one area that I found problematic. I’ve included a number of spoilers to explain this.
Megan is a workaholic (hiding trust issues) and Alex is the perfect BBF. I thought Alex gave her a lot of chances, especially after she “forgot” about him at the first go around of their relationship, even though he was traveling cross-country to visit her.
Once we get time for the second go-around, they have fun exploring parts of the city and building a bit of a foundation for their relationship- all very cute and enjoyable to read. I was happy to see that her cousin didn’t go all overprotective male relative, like I thought he would, because that has been played out in this series with other characters... just a brief discussion to see if he was serious and then moved on.
Megan is excited to receive a big time promotion to head of IT (globally) for the family company and around that time, we see a rough patch for Alex. Fortunately, it isn’t because of her new role, but instead a separate plot point - his friend who was paralyzed years ago and the guilt from that accident continues to be main driver in Alex’s career as a physical therapist - this friend is slipping away into a rough patch.
Fast forward, Alex’s friend passes away - and he is obviously grieving and struggling with this loss both personally and professionally.
Megan is frustrated because her father won’t stop micromanaging her at work and after one conversation with her brother decides that instead of trying to work through the issues with her father (because she wants to be there for Alex), she is going to refuse the promotion and go back to a regional IT role.
And this is where my main issue is with this story line. Why does she need to give up this major opportunity to get her father off her back? - he isn’t the sole owner of the company (2 uncles & numerous cousins are also heavily involved in the business). His micromanaging forces her - the only female in the family to really be involved on a executive level (since Summer’s role remains unclear), to be forced out of the C-suite. Meanwhile, the rest of this series includes men who get to have it all - families that love them and the job. Now, if Megan truly doesn’t want this new role, that’s fine, but that drop back in position appeared rushed to me and wasn’t really explained well. Given how flexible the Montgomery family has been to those that work in the family business, there is no reason to expect that they would treat her any differently.
I did love the camping scene, especially since it finally showed Megan going after Alex, after we had the reverse for beginning of the book, so that circular wrap-up felt right. And that led to a number of funny moments and a lighter than expected ending.
I received this book thanks to Netgalley & Sourcebooks in exchange for an honest review.

UNTIL THERE WAS US is the seventh novel in the successful Montgomery Brothers series by Samantha Chase. As a fan of this wonderful series and this author, this story of second chances hooked me immediately and I polished off the book in one sitting.
Instead of a Montgomery brother playing the lead in this story, we get the story of Megan Montgomery, a workaholic who, up to this point, has managed to avoid getting swept up in the family business. When asked to join cousin Zach’s branch of the business as the IT specialist, however, she agrees to take the position even though it involves a cross-country move from New York to Portland. While she won’t admit that it had anything to do with her acceptance of the job, Megan knows that, in Portland, she will have to come into contact with sexy Alex Rabat, Zach’s best friend. Megan and Alex had a secret (or was it?), steamy two-night stand after meeting at Zach’s wedding. Megan felt that the fling with Alex had been so out of character for her that she let the long-distance romance quickly fizzle out.
When Megan and Alex meet again, it’s obvious to both that the incredible attraction between them is still there, but Megan tries to avoid Alex. She claims that getting involved with Alex will negatively affect her ability to do her job. Alex does not give up, and he does everything he can to pull Megan out of her comfort zone and back into the fire of a sizzling relationship with him. Can he succeed?
I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful story of Megan and Alex. I especially liked that Megan and Alex were not your typical romance novel characters. Megan was not overtly beautiful, or at least she didn’t feel that way. She was most comfortable wearing sweats and little or no make-up, and she preferred to work over almost any other activity. None of this mattered to Alex who still thought she was beautiful. I also liked the way the author chose to write their romance. At the beginning, their attraction was purely physical, and their early encounters were definitely R-rated (but not the near-porn you find so often anymore). As their love for each other developed, the author gave them some privacy by moving the love scenes behind closed doors and into the imagination of the reader. Nice touch.
Without going into spoiler territory, there is one very emotional element to Alex’s story that was very difficult for me to read because I had a very similar situation in my own life recently. While I, sadly, was able to connect to this story in a very personal way and the entire scenario left me in a puddle of tears, it was so realistically and sensitively written that I doubt there will be any readers left unmoved,
UNTIL THERE WAS US can easily be read as a standalone novel and an introduction to this series, but after reading it, I would highly recommend that readers that have not been following this wonderful series, start at book one and binge your way through the earlier novels. Samantha Chase is a wonderful storyteller, and she has masterfully crafted all the Montgomery family stories. You will not be disappointed!

Until There Was Us is the heart-felt, second-chance story of Alex and Megan. Samantha Chase expertly weaves the previous Montgomery Brothers couples into the story as only she can do. I have to admit, Alex is about the sweetest guy ever created. He is passionate about his work and home life. He is supportive, isn’t afraid to show his emotional side, he’s handsome, athletic, and loyal. One of the best parts of this story is Alex’s ability to help, and at the same time, heal Megan and her past hurts and insecurities. In return, Megan is able to be the woman Alex wants as his forever.
Without providing spoilers…the ending of the book was spectacular. The setting where Megan and Alex come back together was just perfect and their adventure to a new place and its happily-ever-after left me a bit breathless. Megan and Alex’s story does not disappoint!

Megan and Alex met at a wedding two years ago and had a great weekend together. The long distance did not work, nor Megan's irrational desire to work all the time. Even moving and taking a new job, she still feels the need to live and breathe work. Alex wants more with Megan, and he has never felt a connection with anyone like he does with Megan. I love re-visiting with the Montgomery's and their love for one another. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.
Megan and Alex met at a wedding but when Megan failed to make time for a relationship, their chance at love fell apart.
I really had a hard time understanding Megan as she was so focused on her work and proving herself to her father. She had a great guy interested in her and she didn't take the time for him. Then, when she meets him again two years later, she goes back to trying to be a workaholic and goes back and forth between wanting a relationship with Alex then backing off.
Alex was much easier to like and did not understand how Megan could even think of walking away from such a great guy! It was frustrating how he reacted to his friend's death but finally loved that Megan took control and pursued Alex.
It was easy to see the progression of both Alex and Megan as they grew in their personal life and the issues that they dealt with and then in their relationship. The ending redeemed the story for me as I struggled to understand Megan!
At the end, how could Alex not respond when Megan went camping to get through to him!!

I’m sure you guys have heard the phrase ”brings out the best in each other” , well this phrase fits this story perfectly. That’s exactly what Megan and Alex did for each other. Such an easy story to get lost in. Very heartwarming and full of emotion. There is little to no angst in their journey which was refreshing. Yes, there’s a conflict and resolution, but it was just another day in the journey of a relationship. Just like it would be for you and me. Very relatable. I haven’t read all the books in this series, but this one ranks quite high in comparison to the ones I have read!

In this newest addition to the Montgomery Brothers series, Megan and Alex are given a second chance two years after their long distance relationship fell apart.
I loved Alex. He was patient and understanding but determined as he pursued Megan. Megan was a bit of a mystery to me at first but as we got to know her and understand her relationship with her father, her actions made more sense.
This is a really good story!

Another wonderful book by Samantha Chase. First I want to say that even though this book is a part of a fabulous series it can definitely be read as a stand-alone.
Megan Montgomery is a very hard worker. You could say she has even put her personal on hold because she works so much. When the opportunity comes along for her to work for the family company, she decides to pack up her stuff and move across the country.
Alex Rebat is a physical therapist who helped Megan’s cousin Zach recover after a horrible accident. He is no stranger to the Montgomery family. However he can not seem to get the one Montgomery, that he had a fabulous weekend with two years ago out his mind, Megan.
The Chemistry between Megan and Alex is undeniable. I loved every minute of their journey together. It made me feel happy and excited for them. I wanted to just keep reading to see where they would go. I definitely felt connected to these Characters and when they were happy I was happy, and when they were hurting I was sad for them. It was touching how Megan was able to help Alex. It really rugged at my heart. The book had a really great ending, it even had a bit that surprised me. As you can tell I fell in love with Megan and Alex and would highly recommend this book!!

Until There Was Us was a super cute read. I loved Alex so much! He was wonderful! And although Megan could get on my nerves at times, I understood where she was coming from and still loved her. This was another great read from this author.
Megan and Alex hooked up once at her cousin's wedding. They tried to make something work long distance after that, but it just didn't work out. For one thing Megan is married to her job and that always came first so there wasn't really room for Alex. It has been two years, but both of them are still thinking about the other.
When Megan moves to work at the family company, the same place where Alex lives, things get a little tricky. Because Alex is friends with her cousins and is around a lot. And he wants to try and see if things could work out this time, but Megan is not one to jump into things. She has to think about it and analyze it from every angle before she can do something. She has some issues to deal with, some things that she didn't even realize were affecting her, but Alex was so sweet with her. He is willing to give her the time that she needs to be ready to date. She needs to get settled into her job and find a place to live and a car and everything before she is even ready to think about being with someone. And that is fine with Alex. He understands and is there for her however he can be. Of course they both still really like each other. I mean it has been two years and they are both still thinking about each other.
Megan could get on my nerves at times because she was so cautious and felt like she needed to work all the time. She wanted to have a better work-life balance, but she didn't do much to really do that. Good thing she has Alex and her cousins who won't let her live at the office. I understood why she was like she was, and I loved her, but I also wanted her to get some help so she could live a less stressful, lonely life. I wanted nothing but the best for her.
And Alex is such a sweetheart. He doesn't crowd Megan, but he lets her know he wants to be with her. Because she is pretty amazing. The two of them together were wonderful.

I received a a copy from NetGalley.
Samantha Chase knows how to write a second chance romance. Megan and Alex had a chemistry that grabbed me and held me from page one until the very last page. Samantha Chase is a master at creating characters that are realistic and relateable. This is the 7th book in the Montgomery Brothers Series so if you've been following along with the family I'm sure you love the characters already.
If you like a second chance romance with a well developed set of characters and story-line this is the book for you.

3.5 Stars
This was a very low-angst, sweet second chance romance. I can't say this is a couple that I fell in love with easily because, frankly, I didn't relate to either one of them.
Megan is a major workaholic and is not good at personal relationships. In fact, she blew her chance at a possible relationship with Alex Rebat two years ago because she's so career-focused. Don't get me wrong, career-focused is awesome but when it takes over every other aspect of your life, it's not so great. As you read, you'll learn that Megan has a secret that she doesn't share with anyone because she fears their judgement. Honestly, I thought it was a bit of a stretch that this "secret" was such a big deal to her. I get it, her father disapproved, but I really didn't get why she needed to keep it such a secret from EVERYONE else in her life.
Alex was a good guy, who loved the outdoors, and who was ready to finally settle down and start a family but just couldn't seem to find anyone who he was interested in the same way that he was with Megan Montgomery two years ago. The worst part is that he can't even talk about it with anyone because nobody else knows that they were involved. Then he finds out that Megan has just moved to the same city as him and that he will be seeing her a lot because her cousin is one of his best friends.
You can feel the chemistry between them from the very first moment they are reunited but Megan is still focused on work and not ready to commit to a commitment. Alex still wants MORE from her and makes it his goal to loosen her up and introduce her to her new hometown with full hopes that they can pick up where they left off so long ago. What proceeds is a very slow and frustrating burn as Megan very slowly starts to open up, while somehow Alex begins to shutdown. It starts to feel like these two will never be on the same page.
Overall, I liked this story and I'm happy with the direction it took in the end. I'm not sold on the secrets and traumas that were preventing them from giving into their HEA but I can't deny that the whole premise of the Montgomery family heads as matchmakers makes my heart happy and it's why I just can't get enough of this series.
