A Great Second Chance Romance, that is Sweet, Sexy and a Little Sassy. I laughed, I cried, and I rooted for Megan and Alex in this story of healing and opening your heart and taking the time and risk of letting love in. It was totally enjoyable. Full of fun and well meaning, but meddling, matchmaker, family members, that help behind the scenes, to try to get these two together again.
Two years ago Megan did something totally out of character. After dancing a few dances, with Alex they spend the rest of the weekend getting to know each other better. They even try to continue their relationship, long distance, for a few months, but living on opposite coasts, and Megans’ long work hours, soon have them going their separate ways. But for the next two years no one else quite measures up, to their great weekend together.
Megan Montgomery is a workaholic, constantly working long hours for recognition and approval from her Father. When her cousin Zach, hires her for her IT genius, at one of the family businesses in Portland, she hopes that her father will finally recognize her talent, and will finally earn his approval. But will his approval be what she really wants in the long run?
Alex Rebat is tired of all his friends getting married and starting families, while he still thinks of the one who got away. When he hears that Zach’s’ cousin Megan is moving to Portland, he can’t wait to see if they can start where they left off. But will the Megan he remembers be the same one he meets now? Will the chemistry still be there? Will he be able to get her to, balance out her work, with her life, and him? These two will have a lot to work on. You don’t want to miss their Sweet and Sexy journey.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Loved, loved, loved this book! The Montgomery Brothers series were the first book I read by Ms. Chase and they made me a huge fan. So when I saw that we have more coming in this series I was over the moon. After reading this book I can say I was NOT disappointed! We get to meet a whole new cast of characters as well as catch up on some of our past favorites. In this book we meet Megan Montgomery. She's reserved, careful, a planner. The one thing she didn't plan was the unforgettable passion filled weekend she spent with Alex Rebat. Two years later she's going to work for her cousin and that means she may see Alex again. Surely he's forgotten her by now. Right??
This is one you don't want to miss. I highly recommend it.

This story was filled with humor, love and drama. I cried both happy and sad tears, and I don't regret a single moment of it!

Favorite Quotes:
Her phone beeped, and she let out a small whine. “That sounds like reality calling.”
…her mother was a firm believer in short engagements and long marriages. Basically she believed in fairy tales.
I wasn’t flirting with anyone. I was merely being polite to the woman who has the ability to spit on our food.
You realize that every time you talk about your trip into the woods, your encounter with what I’m guessing was a squirrel gets wilder and wilder right?
My Review:
I was stunned when I counted over thirty Samantha Chase books on my Read list at Goodreads. Although I regret to report that this one is undoubtedly the least entertaining and my least favorite of that collection. I struggled through most of the first half and had difficulty remaining engaged as the storyline seemed rather repetitive and progressed in extremely slow and tiny increments. Nor could I connect or work up much feeling for the unsympathetic main character of Megan; other than for her love of Double Stuffed Oreos she was rigid, cold, and difficult toward the delectable and perfect BBF of Alex, whom I totally adored. I seriously considered a DNF as over a hundred pages in - I couldn’t comprehend why a sexy, sweet, and romantic man such as Alex would be expending so much thought and effort to forge a connection with her, given her avoidant personality and chilly attitude. Alex had the patience of a saint while I wanted to give the prickly Megan several hard pinches and maybe even a few choice whacks to the head with my Kindle. But I stayed the course and was rewarded for my patience as the second half of the book marked a vast improvement over the Hallmark Channel blandness of first. Glimmers of amusing humor and steam helped to perk up my interest and once the frosty Megan began to thaw, I enjoyed their sweet romance.

Until There Was Us by Samantha Chase is part of the Montgomery Family books. While I am not a big fan of hook-up stories, that event happened before this story takes place. There are no secrets, or cheating here, but there is the opportunity to build on the past. In fact, I enjoyed this second chance romance.
Megan Montgomery is in need of a life besides work, and everyone knows it. I have known people just like this. In the end, it is not enough. Alex was a great choice for the fling but an even better one for a relationship. You really want these two to make a go of it. Of course, so does the family. Who just can’t quite stop themselves from trying their hands at matchmaking. Fun, flirty and delightful read.
4.5 Stars
An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Two years prior at her cousin’s wedding Megan Montgomery shared a passionate weekend with her cousin’s friend Alex Rebat and while they both felt something between them, living across the country from one another had their relationship fizzling before it got started. Now Megan has moved to Portland to work for the family’s company and that puts her in Alex’s hometown. Until There Was Us is probably one of the more emotional books in this series, and it was pretty damn perfect.
Megan is a certified workaholic and she became that way trying to gain her father’s approval and because following a break-up work was her refuge. She didn’t think twice about moving to Portland and having family around and meeting up with Alex again gives her hope for someone special in her life. Alex was good for Megan encouraging her to get out of her comfort zone, to realize her worth, and to take time to enjoy her life. Megan made Alex feel complete in his life; while he loved his work as a sought after physical therapist, and he enjoyed his friends and family he felt something was missing until she once again enter his life.
I loved these two together and they just seemed to mesh well from the start. While Megan was a big worried about what Alex saw in her, he was good at making her see he felt like he was the lucky one. All in all their relationship was pretty easy, not a lot of drama between them and while Megan’s job created some stress Alex was a good sounding board. When Alex’s life in turned inside out, Megan proves to him that she will do anything to help him through the tough times.
Sweet and sensual, but with a lot of heart and emotion, Until There Was Us was a fantastic romance from start to finish.

What a fabulous story! Even though this is part of the Montgomery Brothers series I don't think that you need to read the previous stories(but they are really good too). Well written and to add to the cuteness it has a pug named Maylene in it. Wonderful!

I have forever love the Montgomery men, their Matchmaker father and of course the women who bring them to their knees. This one is not a Montgomery man, but the cousin of those gorgeous men. I fell in love with Megan and Alex, from that 1st dance, and only feel further 2 years later. Samantha has a way of creating new characters that are 100% themselves, and this series is one of my all time favourite’s. Just when I think I've found a new favourite another family member comes along. The Montgomery’s have a special place in my heart.
Megan Montgomery has Forever lived in the shadows of her brother’s and cousins, being the “woman” her career goals are pushed under the rug. But she may be female but she is also smart and incredibly strong. Pushing aside her arrogant father, she makes herself an IT genius. Now she has the opportunity to move to Portland to work with Zach to install a new system in his company. But along with seeing her cousin’s and her beautiful niece, she is bound to come face to face with her past. That one night has been in her dreams for 2 years and now she is about to relive it.
Alex met Zach Montgomery at his lowest point. After a long therapy period he said now classed as a great friend. He attended his wedding and has been a constant in each other’s lives since, but he hides a secret from Zach, that he spent an incredible 2 days with his cousin, and then like they turned on at the wedding it turned off months later. He is beyond shocked to discover Megan is moving to his town and he will do everything in his power to win her back.
On first glance it was obvious the chemistry that was there years ago is still as much as ever. But family and her inner demons threaten to derail what they gain back... This pair will take of journey or rediscovery in themselves and as a couple. Their lives are vastly different, but the love between each other is phenomenal. Opening up is hard but losing your forever is so much worse.

A delightful cast of characters, sweet emotional moments and scintillating dialog all make for another winner from this queen of contemporary romance.
With a lot of successful matchmaking attempts to his credit, William Montgomery is about to lose his matchmaking crown to his wife and sisters in law. Megan's mother wants to see her daughter married and grand babies so she decides to take matters in her own very capable hands.
Two years ago Megan's mom had seen sparks between her daughter and her nephew's groomsman and physical therapist Alex. Determined to bring Megan and Alex back together the matriarchs put their plan into motion and hope that chemistry and proximity will do the rest.
Alex has been a groomsman in too many weddings and is ready to find the right one and settle down. Even though two years have passed since he last met Megan Montgomery he's never quite forgotten her or recaptured the same magic with someone else. Now that Megan is moving into town is there a second chance at romance for them?
Megan too is haunted by the romance that never was. In fact it's her fear of relationships that sabotaged what they had going before. Can she work through her fears and worries and let the chemistry between her and Alex help create a happy ending for her?
I really enjoyed the camaraderie between the Montgomery cousins and Alex. The author does a great job of helping Megan work through her fears and ambitions to find the right balance with Alex. By the same token we get to see a deeper darker side of Alex that most people never get to see which Megan helps lance and heal. It's the emotional intensity between the two characters that turns the story into a lot more than a piece of fluff.
Ms. Chase writes great romance which takes me away from the every day humdrum into the lives of her characters as they work through their angst and find their happily ever after.

Oh, how I love the Montgomery family!!! Megan Montgomery is a workaholic and does not have plans for a lasting relationship even though Alex has been on her mind for the last two years after meeting at a Montgomery wedding. Megan has taken on a new job with the Montgomery corporation, which is located in the home town of Alex. Alex is a physical therapist, he has now made it his goal to reconnect with Megan. Both have paths to go down until their HEA.
Loved, loved this book. It made me loose sleep, made me hungry (Samantha Chase always has to talk about ice cream), it made me cry but left me smiling. It was so much fun to reconnect with the Montgomery family.
This is part of a series but can be read as a stand alone. Can't wait to read more, hint, hint!

In this sweet love story about another member of the Montgomery family we get to be apart of Alex and Megan’s love story. Samantha Chase doesn’t disappoint in her latest book.
Authors Blurb: He'll have to play his cards just right for her to take a chance on him...
Megan Montgomery has always been careful...except that one time she threw caution to the wind and hooked up with a sexy groomsman at her cousin's wedding. But that was two years ago—so why can't she stop thinking about Alex Rebat?
Alex has been living the good life. He loves his job, has a great circle of friends, and doesn't answer to anyone. The problem? There's only one woman he wants and she ran out on him after one amazing weekend. But now that Megan's coming back to town, Alex hopes he can convince her to take another chance on him...and on a future that can only be built together.
I really enjoyed this book and it kept me engrossed throughout. I really loved the characters and the way they interacted with each other. This is a fun, hot, romantic must read book and I would definitely recommend this book to anyone.
This book has everything I love in a book. Then you add that it's beautifully written and believable. It is easily a five star read. Written in dual POV my personal favorite this story flows so incredibly well that the next thing you know your 80% into the book and loving every second of it. The believable way the characters interact is perfect. Run, Hop, Jump or use your (1 click) finger to do whatever you have to do and get this amazing book. It'll break your heart, you'll want to scream with frustration and it'll let you discover that love just might conquer all. The chemistry is steamy and sweet and oh so romantic.
Thanks Netgally for letting me read and review.📚💕

When does matchmaking become a family affair? Every Samantha Chase fan, knows the surname Montgomery is synonymous with romance. The Montgomery brood can make a reader fall heart first for their special brand of wooing. Until There Was Us turns an introverted klutz into a irresistible swan. Megan is the Montgomery that never quite fit in. She's smart, clumsy and prefers to blend into the crowd. Once upon a time, she was content to just exist. Until with one look, he showed her how to live. Alex and Megan speak to the insecurities that we all have, but are afraid to acknowledge. Fear is finding the courage to take a risk, despite the outcome.

Let me just say this book blew me away and had me up until 2 am, just to finish the last few chapters I had left to read. This turned out to be an amazing read that I can not wait for the release of and I was so happy to find that I had 2 unread books in my kindle library by the author, Samantha Chase, which I must read, soon.
One of our main characters, Alex is such a joy to read about as he is sweet, kind, caring, romantic and funny. He played a big role in the changes Megan goes through in herself and her lifestyle. Alex teaches Megan how to enjoy and live life outside of work.
Although Alex has always had strong feelings for Megan and fallen for her, Megan also having feelings for Alex continuously tries to push him away. We eventually learn that Megan has not received the love she longs for in her own life and past relationships. We also learn that Megan was verbally abused in a past relationship, making it hard for her to trust men and to feel confident in herself.
I really enjoyed the writing style and seeing the relationship between Megan and Alex progress. I also enjoyed reading about all the adventures Megan and Alex go through. The other characters in this story were great as well and I enjoyed reading about their lives and learning about themselves as a person and the changes, they also go through.
I could go on and on about the story but this review would seem to never end, so I won't. As you can probably tell, I absolutely loved this book and give it 5+ stars. This is such a joyful and fun book to read and would also make for the perfect beach read as well. Samantha Chase is one author to watch out for.

This book was just not my cup of tea. This is the first book of Ms Chase’s and I just find I don’t like her writing style. It’s just not for me. It’s book 7 in the series and you don’t need to read any of the other books to know what’s going on. The thing I found boring and hard to invest in was the in-depth describing of everything. The detailed description of how they were going to do everything from painting a nursery to going and getting food. Story could of been wrapped up in about 250 pages if it wasn’t for all of that.

Oh my star...5 of them! Megan and Alex may have just become my new favorite Samantha Chase couple! Megan is that dressed-down, slightly nerdy, in-her-head type of gal that frankly, most of us can totally relate to. She works too much, doesn’t date but wants to start emerging from her comfort zone. So why not move across the country and start working for her cousin Zach?!
Bonus perk, her sexy wedding weekend fling from two years ago lives there, too. Even though she panicked and sort of blew him off, he’ll maybe give her another chance...right?
Alex hasn’t stopped thinking about Megan since that weekend, so while surprised she’s here, he’s excited and ready for that second chance...even if Megan is a bit hesitant. I love Alex for the simple fact that he is willing to go at a snail’s pace for Megan to feel comfortable. He’s definitely has alpha tendencies, but his beta side allows him to let Megan lead the timeline...for a while. Plus, he’s sexy as hell!
Sweet and sexy, a little sad but funny, Megan and Alex’s story can definitely be read as a stand alone, but you’ll want to read the rest of the Montgomery series if you haven’t already. I read this book in one sitting, couldn’t put it down, even as it was waaaayyy past my bedtime!
Samantha Chase has another sharp, witty, entertaining read in Until There Was Us.

Megan and Alex had had a wild weekend two years previous but things turned sour on them when trying to do the long distance relationship thing. Now Megan has taken a new job and is located in the same town and with the same friends/family as Alex. After clearing the air regarding their past decisions and actions, things take off pretty quickly for this couple. Megan struggles to live a life outside of work and Alex is determined to show her there is more than just a computer and software updates.
I enjoyed watching this couple together and with their friends. They were both adorable and equally likeable. The secondary characters were great and there were scenes with a baby and then a rabid animal that had me grinning wildly. The heat level is medium, in my opinion, but the chemistry is real as is the relationship between Megan and Alex.
This is a nice low angst read that didn’t really have any serious drama driving it but is perfect when you’re looking for something sweet and romantic to slip into. Altogether, a completely enjoyable book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by NetGalley and Sourcebooks. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Megan attends her cousin’s wedding where she hooks up with a groomsman, Alex. They both go their own way but haven’t forgotten each other.
Years later, Megan returns and Alex will do what it takes to convince her he’s the man for her.
Chase provided a great balance of family drama and romance creating a fun and entertaining contemporary romance.
This is a book of second chances. With all second chances, you can't wait for the characters to communicate their true feelings and just let it happen.
I received this ARC copy of Until There Was Us from Sourcebooks - Casablanca. This is my honest and voluntary review. Until There Was Us is set for publication May 1, 2018.

Megan is very career driven always in friend zone with Alex. She is no nonsense computer girl. She finally realizes she is in a rut and wants some adventure. Alex and Megan did have one past hook up. Alex kept thinking about their weekend together. Alex was drawn to her smile and she called to him on every level. Megan has self esteem issues. I love how Alex never gives up on Megan. Alex is willing to take this relationship at Megan's pace. Megan put so much pressure on herself. Alex is so patient with Megan. With his help Megan is able to believe in herself. I love second chance romances. This is my favorite Samantha Chase book to date. I am very excited for continuation of this series with Megan's brothers.

What a beautiful story, sort of second chance romance, between Megan Montgomery & the guy she met at her cousins wedding, Alex, fast forward 2 years......
Follow their story, and fall in love, watch how Alex helps Megan with her insecurities, and how she helps him conquer and understand his demon that's held him back for years!
Of course let's not forget this is the Montgomery family, so you need to throw in the Aunt's and Uncles who love to meddle, I mean help out their children so they can have all the grandchildren!!!
I absolutely love this series, don't miss out on Megan & Alex's story! 5 stars!

In Until There Was Us we meet Megan Montgmery and Alex Rebat. Megan and Alex actually meet two years earlier at her cousin Zach Montgomery's wedding. They have instant chemistry and things heat up fast. However things soon fade away. Fast forward two years later where their story picks up.Megan and Alex's story is everything and more than I imagined it to be.They are perfect together, I couldn't imagine each of them with someone else!!
