I have read other books by Samantha Chase but this is my first in the Montgomery Brothers Series and as this is book 7 you can see from my star rating it certainly can be read as a stand-alone although I will definitely be going back to read books 1 through 6.
Megan and Alex met at her cousins wedding but she lived in NYC and even though they tried a long distance relationship, it wasn’t meant to be because Alex had to contend with Megan being a workaholic as well as the distance. Megan grew up with a father who believed work came before family and it’s all she knows but when she takes a job working for her cousin Alex is determined to show her she needs a life and it is possible to balance work and play......
I love second chance romance but it’s even better when it based in a small town with real family and friends loyalty, this book had me feeling like I was visiting friends and considering I haven’t read the previous books that should tell you just how talented Samantha Chase is. Looking forward to playing catch-up with the rest of this series .

If you love second chance romances and The Montgomery Brothers then you're in for a must read!
One weekend will change Megan Montgomery and Alex Rebat's life forever. Things looked amazing for these two until life took an unexpected turn and they went their separate ways.
Now, when they are reunited will the sparks still ignite? Will they take a leap and finally discover what they could have?
Add a few meddling family members, great friends who will support and defend, and a setting that takes us home and you've got a must read!
Every book that Samantha Chase writes plays like a movie in my imagination and I look forward to discovering where the family is going. Yes, The Montgomery's are family and I'm excited to reunite with them in this book adventure!

Until There Was Us (the Montgomery Brother's) by Samantha Chase
Wow! What a perfect story. Samantha Chase really can write. She just has a way with words. She has all the elements that make for a great author. She knows what readers want and knows how to give readers what they want. Samantha Chase always leaves her readers with a sense of belonging and wanting more. I just love the Montgomery's. I wish I could be a Montgomery. When I heard Samantha was revisiting the Montgomery's I knew
I just had to read this book. I was not wrong. Until There Was Us is a great story. Samantha wrote this book just perfect.
In Until There Was Us we meet Megan Montgmery and Alex Rebat. Megan and Alex actually meet two years earlier at her cousin Zach Montgomery's wedding. They have instant chemistry and things heat up fast. However things soon fade away. Fast forward two years later where their story picks up. Megan Montgomery is a workaholic. Megan is very cautious in all she does except when it comes to Alex Rebat. Alex Rebat is a physical therapist. Alex loves everything about his job and is dedicated to his patients and friends. When Megan and Alex reconnect things really heat up. Their chemistry is undeniable.
Alex and Megan's story is one of second chances. I just love a second chance romance. Megan and Alex's story is everything and more than I imagined it to be. Megan and Alex are perfect together. Perfectly matched. I love how they are down to earth. I really love how I could relate to their struggles. I felt my heart swoon and I also cried and laughed. I really loved Maylene. I felt like Maylene was more than just a dog she was family. I loved all the scenes with her in it. Samantha Chase wrote the perfect story. I really felt like I was there a part of the story. I felt a sense of belonging. I felt like I could relate to Megan and Alex's struggles. I was left wanting more. Until There Was Us is everything and so much more than I ever imagined it would be. It was so good that I read it all in one day and have re-read it two more times. I will never get tired of the Montgomery family. The emotion and passion is just so heart warming. Samantha Chase you really out did yourself. Grab a copy and see why readers love Samantha Chase's books and the Montgomery's.

Okay
What I liked:
The writing style
The characters

Standalone
HEA
Epilogue
I had a hard time staying interested in this book.

I like the series and the author but had a hard time with Until There Was Us.
Alex and Megan had a short but steamy affair. Alex wanted something more but Megan wasn't prepared to give him anything. I had a hard time with how she treated him.
The couple finally gets together and While things are relatively smooth are are torn apart with her work and A!ex faces a personal tragedy.
Megan knows where her heart lies and is willing to give up her dreams for Alex. This did end on a happy note but their personal goals are still in flux.

I don't even know where to begin....I love everything that Samantha Chase has written but this is by far my favorite of all time. She truly outdid herself with these characters. You really get a sense of what Megan & Alex are feeling and you can just see them as "everyday people" trying to get through life's struggles. Just an amazing read that I couldn't put down. I was both happy and sad when it was over; happy for the characters, sad because I was finished.....

My Thoughts
Megan Montgomery and Alex Rebat were both nicely fleshed out characters, their sizzle was spot on, the work/family/friends conflicts they both had to deal with were realistic and all in all this was a believable love story that gave me a great deal of enjoyment as I read it.
As with other books of this particular genre there were just enough family drama moments to add another layer to the story and also to keep things flowing nicely for the reader when the focus shifted from the main characters here and there.
Filled with genuinely interesting characters this story gave a snapshot into how much we value and count on the support of family members and friends when it comes to important life decisions. The story is also filled with many moments where one would love to say to these same family members and friends they need to back off with their tendency to hold someone back as they do not wish to be a disappointment.
The book obviously was meant to be part of a series, after all 6 prior to this one have been released already, however its story stands alone well as Alex and Megan are always the main focus the rest of the characters orbit around.

Alex and Megan met at a wedding and spent a wonderful weekend together. When Alex tried to meet p with Megan again she was a no show. Now two years later, they meet again and realize that those feelings are still there.
I loved this story. It was completely romantic and didn't have any unnecessary drama. The characters were "real". I could not put it down.
Samantha Chase's Montgomery series is a definite must read and I cannot wait for the next installment.

Love! Love! Love! I loved reading Until There was Us by Samantha Chase book in her Montgomery Brothers series. Megan Montgomery and Alex Rabat met while attending a wedding and the sparks flew between them. Megan was always cautious and she had thoughtfully planned out her life which did not include a relationship. Yet that didn’t stop her from thinking about him for the next two years. When Megan accepts a job at her cousin's company across the country, she does everything she can to avoid Alex, knowing he'll shake up her carefully crafted world. Alex had a great life, loving his job and friends, but like Megan hadn’t been able to stop thinking about their passionate encounter. Once Alex discovers Megan has moved to town, he set out, making it his goal to show her that maybe it’s time to take a few more risks.
I loved seeing Megan become more comfortable taking risks, being spontaneous, and living life to its fullest as she spent more time with Alex. He helped her come into her own person and learn to stand up for herself. Alex might appear perfect, knowing the answers and following the correct paths but that was far from the truth. Alex was sensitive and compassionate and a wonderful sounding board for Megan and his patients but he struggled with his own inability to help everyone. With Megan’s help, Alex learns to accept his limitations and be satisfied with who he is and what he can accomplish.
Ms. Chase is an amazing story teller, making me feel as if I was right there watching the action unfold as she drew me in, making me forget the world around me. I struggled with putting this book down. I truly hope Ms. Chase will write books giving Megan’s two brothers their own happy ever after. I highly recommend this book to other readers.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

When Megan and Alex met at her cousins Zach’s wedding, they didn’t expect the chemistry to be as combustible as it was. After spending a memorable weekend together, though they lost touch, they never forgot each other.
2 years later, Megan is in Portland working for Zach’s company and bound to meet Alex. Will they be able to pick up, where they left off ?
Until there was us is a beautiful read. Alex is a wonderful hero, patiently breaking down Megan’s walls. The pace is relaxed, the secondary characters are charming and funny. Overall a book that will leave you smiling.

One of Samantha Chase’s best books to date. I completely enjoyed this one!

Chase continually delivers with this series. It was wonderful to get to see more of Alex's backstory and have him become part of the family with Megan. As always, Chase allows fans of the series to be updated with past series favorites. Cheers to another solid outing by Chase.

I received an advanced copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
This is not the first book that I have read by Samantha Chase.
I thought that this book was well written with lots of details. It makes for a long read but the story moved along at a decent pace. I enjoyed reading about Megan and Alex.

Megan meets Alex at her cousin's wedding. The two hit it off and even stay connected for several months afterwards. With plans to meet up, Alex comes cross country to meet her, but due to Megan being a workaholic, she stands him up. They drift apart after that, but now both of them are in the same city and single. The two reconnect and rekindle what they had.
I am a huge fan of Samantha Chase books and this one did not disappoint. Although this is part of a series, it can be read as a standalone.

Megan Montgomery always felt out of place in her super successful family. Then at her cousin's wedding she was asked to dance by Alex Rebat. Alex made her feel comfortable for the first time in her own skin. They enjoyed each other's company so much that they spent the weekend together. But Megan allowed her insecurities to prevent her from continuing this relationship. Now two years later the opportunity is there for Alex and Megan to try again. Alex always has a positive personality until his world is shattered by a personal loss. Now Megan steps out of her comfort zone to give Alex what he needs. A great story about two people who are perfect for each other.

I love Megan and Alex. They just seem to fit like a glove. They really go thought from real life struggles I think almost everyone can relate to. Work, family, and trying to maintain a social life can always aid for a strain on a relationship. Add in insecurities and guilt and these two have a lot to overcome to find happiness not only with them self but together. I love how Alex pushes Megan out of her comfort zone.
I can only hope that Christian is next.

Beautiful!! This story gave me all the feels! It was sweet and sexy with realistic relationship problems that were very much relatable. I really enjoyed learning about Megan and Alex independently and as a couple. The love that develops between them is believable and sometimes broke my heart. BUT, there were a few LOL moments that were written in at just the right times to lighten some very intense moments. I did not want this story to end it was so good!!

I have read several Samantha Chase books but this was my first book from the Montgomery Brothers series. Each book can be read as a standalone but will probably work best in the context of the series because it can get a little confusing with the various family members appearing throughout the book.
One thing I always enjoy In Samantha's books is the chemistry between her couples and Megan and Alex are no exception. Their story is touching and romantic with just a touch of heartbreak and sweetness. I loved seeing these characters grow through both happiness and grief and choose to fight for their happily ever after.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Two years ago, Megan Montgomery and Alex Rebat hooked up at her cousin's wedding. But then they were torn apart by living on opposite sides of the country and by the fact that Megan was working long hours. Now she's in the same city and their connection isn't any less strong. But can they make it work on the second time around.
Until There Was Us by Samantha ChaseOkay. I like Chase's writing and she has pretty great characters... usually. I just couldn't figure out why Megan fell in love with Alex. He was sort of an asshat. She doesn't like the outdoors -- but he's going to force her. Sure, he says he's going to go to museums with her, but we never actually see it happening. He thinks she works to much and doesn't share with her. But he hides that he is seeing his best friend every week and then runs off when there's a traumatic event. Other than the fact that Megan and her cousins think he's super hot, I don't see any reason to fall in love with this person.
Two stars

This is the seventh in Chase’s series of romances involving the extended Montgomery family. Much like the other books in the series, we get a couple who is obviously meant for each other. They have their own problems accepting and adjusting to what a perfect couple they make while their friends and family get together to cheer them on, perhaps helped by a little behind-the-scenes assistance by the matchmaking parents in the family. In a way, it’s the world we might all like to live in - loving, gorgeous, happy people who are rich in friends and family as well as material goods.
In this novel, Megan Montgomery, the cousin of some of the previous Montgomery heroes and heroines, is moving to work IT with her cousin’s company in Portland. She meets up with Alex, the hunky physical therapist with whom she had hooked up at her cousin’s wedding two years previously. She had blown the romance with him before because she was such a workaholic. But they never forgot each other and now Alex is determined to make the most of this second chance.
Megan is portrayed as this impossibly damaged woman who doesn’t even know how to take some down time and go for a walk in the park. I just didn’t buy that she was so clueless about relaxing. But if you can accept that, then you’ll be cheering Alex on as he attempts to show her that she can have a great job as well as a serious relationship with him.
I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
