The Montgomery Series continues with Until There Was Us almost as a second chance romance. Megan and Alex met two years prior at a Zach and Gabriella’s wedding. The premise of previous books has been an uncle who was playing at matchmaking. This time the moms try their hand, but it is two years in the making. Originally, the couple did not make it due to distance, fear and a bit of workaholic tendencies.

Without realizing it, Megan and Alex are being manipulated just a bit. But, they really want to try to make it work this time. Each go through some difficult issues. Alex has been working with a long time friend from high school who is not being successful in healing. Megan is still seeking family approval while hiding a talent and gift she works hard at providing for others. Although they have a lot in common, there are some areas for compromise. The desire both have to make it work goes a long way to helping them reach their HEA. This is a sweet book that is different from the previous books in the series and is just as enjoyable in its own right.

The seventh book in the Montgomery brothers series. Having read the first three of this title I was familiar with the premise. William one of the Patriarch of the Montgomery family plays matchmakers and find loves for his three boys. He then parlays that into his nieces and nephews. In this novel its not William who does the matchmaking of Alex and his niece Megan but his wife. Megan moves to the Oregon to work for the family business along with her cousins Zach and Summer. She meets up again after two years Alex who she met at Zach's wedding two years ago. They both start wondering if the attraction they had for each other two years if its still there? Review can be found on goodreads and amazon.

Megan and Alex met two years ago and the sparks flew between them. But then they never saw each other again until Megan moved to his city. In that two years, they’ve thought about each other repeatedly. So wouldn’t you think that they would leap at the chance to date each other?

Due to Megan’s work and other factors, we get a story that goes back and forth between them deciding to try and deciding not to try. There are flashes of “This book is great!” mingled with frustration and groans. Overall I enjoyed it.

To say that Megan's personal life is lacking is a complete understatement, she can't remember the last time she had a date, nor taken an interest in pursuing one. Everything in her life revolves around her work, she works her tail off to not only prove she can hold her own, but to also prove to her father that she can do her job just as well as her brothers. It's a constant battle of not feeling like she measures up to her brothers, and working herself into complete exhaustion to try see the same approval in her father's eye when her brothers do a job well done. But after learning from one of her brothers what life is like working for her father she begins to realize that isn't a life she really wants for herself, his constant meddling in her personal would be horrifying, so she decides shift her focus in another direction, on a job working for her cousin. Not only is it a chance to be on her own and spread her wings, but it's also a chance to work on finding love too...because the man who blew her mind two years ago just so happens to be friends with her cousin, and lives in the same town.

Alex Rabat constantly wonders what it would be like if he'd tried a little harder two years ago to hold onto what he found with Megan, although they only shared one night, it was a very memorable one. One that he thinks about all the time, which is probably why he is still single, it's hard to find a woman when your thinking of another all the time. So, when he learns that her cousin has convinced her to leave her job and life behind to join him at his company he is thrilled at the opportunity to reunite. But once she gets to town she continues to try and give him the slip, but he doesn't intend to let it continue for too long... eventually he will get the upper hand!

Until There Was Us is a beautifully crafted tale rich with heartfelt emotion, drama, and steamy sexy times that is certain to leave your toes curled and heart overflowing!! It has been sometime since I have read a book by this author, and I am totally kicking myself from staying away so long, I loved this story so darn much! The story line pulled me in right away, then the characters and their beautiful journey took hold and gave me the feels, made me swoon, it just could not have been any better!! I highly recommend you pick this one up, the writing was amazing, the characters were top notch, simply put...it is romance at it's best!!

I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, via NetGalley, and voluntarily read and reviewed!

Megan Montgomery, the only daughter in this branch of the clan. You'd think she'd be a pampered princess, but she's dedicated and driven to succeed. She's certainly not a girlie, high heeled wearing women out to catch a man. When she clicks with someone at her cousin's wedding she doesn't expect to have the best weekend of her life. And when she moves across country to work for her cousin she's not sure how she can avoid dealing with the one who got away.
Alex Rebat is pretty amazing, his job is literally to save people, well to help them overcome injuries. He's ready to settle down and take his life in a new direction. Yet he hasn't been able to get Megan out of his mind. When fate steps in and puts her back in his path he will do everything in his power to overcome her objections.

I need to re-read this already! I cried so hard through Megan & Alex's story that I'm sure I missed bits! Alex and Megan met at a wedding, things didn't work out, but couple of years later, Megan having made some choices, they meet and start over? Megan has work/life balance issues, along with trying to win her father's approval. Alex has different outlook, he's a fixer, but his feelings for Megan are real. Can he show her how it could be? Will Megan do the same for Alex or will it all end in sadness? An amazing story, fab series, great feels, 5+ stars definite MUST read.

Until There Was Is is an emotionally packed story. Megan and Alex draw you in immediately and you can’t help falling in love with them and the entire Montgomery family. Megan is a workaholic , wanting approval from her father and not living her life or having fun. She meets Alex at her cousin’s wedding and had a fun, stress free weekend. Alex is always a positive person and wants everyone to love their lives to the fullest and once he saw Megan at his friends wedding, he was immediately drawn to her. Two years later their paths cross and the chemistry they experienced before is still there. Until There Was Is is an excellent addition to the Montgomery series.

I really love Samantha Chase! Her books are fabulous, and this one did not disappoint. I'm honestly in love with the Montgomery family, and cannot wait for the next book. Megan and Alex's story was real and sweet.

Until There Was Us by Samantha Chase is the most emotionally charged book I've read so far. A young woman has had to work so hard to prove to her father that she is just as good as her brothers. Yet he has never once taken notice until she proved him she was just that good. However, she finds out that having her dad's approval could mean an unwanted life with him constantly telling her how to run her life. Her brother Christian had always been their father's favorite. But after what their dad did to him, he's turned into 'the stone man'. That visit with her brother helped them both. She got to see her brother and understand what would happen if she let her dad give her a job. Then, there the issue of her working too much. She is trying to fix that but it's harder than saying she can. But there's a special man who can help make her feel happy again. If only she lets him into her life and heart. Megan was burned once and her self-esteem isn't as great as it should be. Megan is a determined, bright, and good person. I really liked her. I felt like her and I could be best friends for life. Plus, she has a secret...

Alex is a therapist. He's so caring it's hard not to like the man. Also, he's just as sexy as he is sweet. Alex loves the outdoors and is best of friends with Megan's cousin. Alex met Megan at a family wedding and they hit it off from there. But since then, Megan blew him off and has hidden from Alex. Life gets in the way, and Alex finds he's still in love with her. Maybe, her coming back in his life is a positive sign. But knowing Megan, the road to convincing her to give them a chance will be tough.

Samantha Chase has created another amazing feel good title. It's sexy, hot, and engaging as hell. I loved it! I could not stop reading it. I was held in suspense as to what would occur between Alex and Megan. They seemed perfect for each other yet...it was a constant tug of war. Samantha has placed a little bit of her awesome pug into this story! Maylene, is the beautiful yet sassy pug inside this heartfelt tale. I thought it was pretty cool to meet her as well. Overall, I highly recommend this contemporary novel to all readers.

In this Montgomery story we meet Megan and Alex. These two meet at a wedding and share a passionate weekend together. Because of geographic locations, these two are not able to be a conventional couple. For three months they try communicating and try to make weekend plans which never happen. Two years later, imagine Alex's surprise when he learns Megan is now in the same city as him. (Even living in the guest house of his best friend's) Yep - he is going to try and get her attention again. And he succeeds.
This is a very sweet romance. I have not read any of the previous books in this series, but I am not new to this author.
Overall, I think this book was 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Another fun romance from Chase, combining characters that readers have already bonded with. Perfect for readers who love to continue series reading.

I loved this story!! Megan & Alex had a chance at a relationship. The emotion & attraction were there. They planned a getaway but Megan didn't show. She put her job & her need for her father's approval ahead of any relationship they might have had. Fast forward several years & Megan was moving to take a job with her cousin., Zach. Now that they are in the same town, is the attraction still there? Can Megan develop a life outside of work or will the guilt cause her to cave?

This story grabbed my attention right from the first line. I loved how the interactions between Alex, Megan & the rest of the family framed the attitude & experiences that make up the story. This story emphasized the family connection & support extended whether a family member by blood or by acceptance. The interactions between Alex & Danny illustrated Alex's strength & compassion & was an emotional part of the story. The writer has a gift for making sure the readers feel as much emotion as she can. I laughed. I cried. I loved. If you want to read a beautiful tender romance with lots of emotion & affection, you can't pass this one up!

Sweet and sexy book from Samantha Chase in the Montgomery Brothers series! I haven't read all of the previous books in the series, and I didn't feel like I needed to to enjoy this one. However, Megan and Alex's story was an amazing read, and now I HAVE to read all the others. The secondary characters are wonderful and the family dynamics are well weaved into their HEA. I like how they both had to step back from the path they were on individually to figure out how to create a path for them as a couple. Wonderful story!

I love the Montgomery Brothers series! Megan and Alex's story was an amazing read!

Megan met Alex at her cousin's wedding and they hit it off immediately. A fun weekend turned into a very long distance courtship but Megan couldn't give Alex the attention needed for a relationship because she was married to her job. Having always sought the approval of her father, Megan put all her focus on trying to make him notice her hard work and her place in a "man's world". Now Megan is making a cross country move to work in the family business and is brought face to face with Alex. There is no escaping him this time as he is good friends with her cousin and constantly around. The slow and steady building of the relationship with Alex and Megan was sweet yet sexy. I immediately was onboard for the two to become more than the sum of their past. Both Alex and Megan deserved love.

Alex is thrilled to have Megan move into his life. He understands her preoccupation with work and he himself has devoted extra time to work and taking care of a friend with a tragic history involving Alex. When wounds from the past are reopened Alex is in over his head emotionally and needs an escapte. Megan has started focusing on her new job and is finding herself once again getting wrapped up in her work. When Alex is in need she realizes that she is at a crossroads in her life and it is time for a change, but is it too late where Aelex is concerned.

Samantha Chase always delivers a great story while hinting to what is next to come in the series! I am looking forward to the adventure.

Can I say how much I love this series. I've got love for the match making meddling families and Until There Was Us did not disappoint. I even shed a few tears over this one. Megan is self proclaimed workaholic. Watching her come out of her shell once she moves to Portland was a wonderful sight. Alex what can I say he is wonderful and swoon worthy for sure. Watching Megan and Alex take a second chance on each other made my heart soar. These two have eyes only for each other and watching them grow into their relationship is a beautiful thing. Samantha Chase did not disappoint at all with this one and I can't wait for more.

After a wild weekend of passion, Megan picks work over romance and lets Alex go. Flash forward two years and the two are thrown together again when Megan moves to the other side is the USA and lives with her family for work. Can Alex prove to her that they are worth fighting for? Or will Megan remain a workaholic and never put herself first? Once again, Samantha Chase writes about characters that the reader cannot help but fall in love with and want to see get their HEA.

Megan and ALex met at a wedding and sparks flew. After a weekend fling they tried to maintain a long distance relationship. Time and distance put an end to their budding relationship. Neither Megan or Alex has been able to stop thinking about that weekend two years ago. Now they are in the same town and have a second chance.

I enjoyed this romance. I loved the characters in this story. This is part of the Montgomery Brothers series. I haven’t read the other books in the series but I didn’t feel like I missed anything because I hadn’t read the previous books. I did like the characters enough that I plan to go back and read the other books in the series. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy of this book.

I have every book that Chase has published. Until There Was Us, was right up there with my favorites.
Megan has trying to get the approval of her father her whole life. If that means working 80 hour weeks then so be it. Even going as far as keeping her hobby a secret from everyone because her father doesn't approve.
Alex has some things in his life that he is trying to make amends for. Together they learn that they don't need the approval or have as much to ask forgiveness for than they thought.
