Until There Was Us by Samantha Chase is the most emotionally charged book I've read so far. A young woman has had to work so hard to prove to her father that she is just as good as her brothers. Yet he has never once taken notice until she proved him she was just that good. However, she finds out that having her dad's approval could mean an unwanted life with him constantly telling her how to run her life. Her brother Christian had always been their father's favorite. But after what their dad did to him, he's turned into 'the stone man'. That visit with her brother helped them both. She got to see her brother and understand what would happen if she let her dad give her a job. Then, there the issue of her working too much. She is trying to fix that but it's harder than saying she can. But there's a special man who can help make her feel happy again. If only she lets him into her life and heart. Megan was burned once and her self-esteem isn't as great as it should be. Megan is a determined, bright, and good person. I really liked her. I felt like her and I could be best friends for life. Plus, she has a secret...

Alex is a therapist. He's so caring it's hard not to like the man. Also, he's just as sexy as he is sweet. Alex loves the outdoors and is best of friends with Megan's cousin. Alex met Megan at a family wedding and they hit it off from there. But since then, Megan blew him off and has hidden from Alex. Life gets in the way, and Alex finds he's still in love with her. Maybe, her coming back in his life is a positive sign. But knowing Megan, the road to convincing her to give them a chance will be tough.

Samantha Chase has created another amazing feel good title. It's sexy, hot, and engaging as hell. I loved it! I could not stop reading it. I was held in suspense as to what would occur between Alex and Megan. They seemed perfect for each other yet...it was a constant tug of war. Samantha has placed a little bit of her awesome pug into this story! Maylene, is the beautiful yet sassy pug inside this heartfelt tale. I thought it was pretty cool to meet her as well. Overall, I highly recommend this contemporary novel to all readers.

In this Montgomery story we meet Megan and Alex. These two meet at a wedding and share a passionate weekend together. Because of geographic locations, these two are not able to be a conventional couple. For three months they try communicating and try to make weekend plans which never happen. Two years later, imagine Alex's surprise when he learns Megan is now in the same city as him. (Even living in the guest house of his best friend's) Yep - he is going to try and get her attention again. And he succeeds.
This is a very sweet romance. I have not read any of the previous books in this series, but I am not new to this author.
Overall, I think this book was 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Another fun romance from Chase, combining characters that readers have already bonded with. Perfect for readers who love to continue series reading.

I loved this story!! Megan & Alex had a chance at a relationship. The emotion & attraction were there. They planned a getaway but Megan didn't show. She put her job & her need for her father's approval ahead of any relationship they might have had. Fast forward several years & Megan was moving to take a job with her cousin., Zach. Now that they are in the same town, is the attraction still there? Can Megan develop a life outside of work or will the guilt cause her to cave?

This story grabbed my attention right from the first line. I loved how the interactions between Alex, Megan & the rest of the family framed the attitude & experiences that make up the story. This story emphasized the family connection & support extended whether a family member by blood or by acceptance. The interactions between Alex & Danny illustrated Alex's strength & compassion & was an emotional part of the story. The writer has a gift for making sure the readers feel as much emotion as she can. I laughed. I cried. I loved. If you want to read a beautiful tender romance with lots of emotion & affection, you can't pass this one up!

Sweet and sexy book from Samantha Chase in the Montgomery Brothers series! I haven't read all of the previous books in the series, and I didn't feel like I needed to to enjoy this one. However, Megan and Alex's story was an amazing read, and now I HAVE to read all the others. The secondary characters are wonderful and the family dynamics are well weaved into their HEA. I like how they both had to step back from the path they were on individually to figure out how to create a path for them as a couple. Wonderful story!

I love the Montgomery Brothers series! Megan and Alex's story was an amazing read!

Megan met Alex at her cousin's wedding and they hit it off immediately. A fun weekend turned into a very long distance courtship but Megan couldn't give Alex the attention needed for a relationship because she was married to her job. Having always sought the approval of her father, Megan put all her focus on trying to make him notice her hard work and her place in a "man's world". Now Megan is making a cross country move to work in the family business and is brought face to face with Alex. There is no escaping him this time as he is good friends with her cousin and constantly around. The slow and steady building of the relationship with Alex and Megan was sweet yet sexy. I immediately was onboard for the two to become more than the sum of their past. Both Alex and Megan deserved love.

Alex is thrilled to have Megan move into his life. He understands her preoccupation with work and he himself has devoted extra time to work and taking care of a friend with a tragic history involving Alex. When wounds from the past are reopened Alex is in over his head emotionally and needs an escapte. Megan has started focusing on her new job and is finding herself once again getting wrapped up in her work. When Alex is in need she realizes that she is at a crossroads in her life and it is time for a change, but is it too late where Aelex is concerned.

Samantha Chase always delivers a great story while hinting to what is next to come in the series! I am looking forward to the adventure.

Can I say how much I love this series. I've got love for the match making meddling families and Until There Was Us did not disappoint. I even shed a few tears over this one. Megan is self proclaimed workaholic. Watching her come out of her shell once she moves to Portland was a wonderful sight. Alex what can I say he is wonderful and swoon worthy for sure. Watching Megan and Alex take a second chance on each other made my heart soar. These two have eyes only for each other and watching them grow into their relationship is a beautiful thing. Samantha Chase did not disappoint at all with this one and I can't wait for more.

After a wild weekend of passion, Megan picks work over romance and lets Alex go. Flash forward two years and the two are thrown together again when Megan moves to the other side is the USA and lives with her family for work. Can Alex prove to her that they are worth fighting for? Or will Megan remain a workaholic and never put herself first? Once again, Samantha Chase writes about characters that the reader cannot help but fall in love with and want to see get their HEA.

Megan and ALex met at a wedding and sparks flew. After a weekend fling they tried to maintain a long distance relationship. Time and distance put an end to their budding relationship. Neither Megan or Alex has been able to stop thinking about that weekend two years ago. Now they are in the same town and have a second chance.

I enjoyed this romance. I loved the characters in this story. This is part of the Montgomery Brothers series. I haven’t read the other books in the series but I didn’t feel like I missed anything because I hadn’t read the previous books. I did like the characters enough that I plan to go back and read the other books in the series. Thank you to net galley for an advanced readers copy of this book.

I have every book that Chase has published. Until There Was Us, was right up there with my favorites.
Megan has trying to get the approval of her father her whole life. If that means working 80 hour weeks then so be it. Even going as far as keeping her hobby a secret from everyone because her father doesn't approve.
Alex has some things in his life that he is trying to make amends for. Together they learn that they don't need the approval or have as much to ask forgiveness for than they thought.
