Really enjoyed this book. Was a fast moving light read. The heroine’Burrowes’ was really funny and made me smile at her actions. Although it was a bit far fetched it was a fun ride that I didn’t want to finish but equally couldnt stop reading. Very good. Really hope the author manages to fit in writing more as she has a great style in writing.

This was my kind of book - funny, entertaining and with a great storyline. In this book we meet Sarah a recent singleton who, after meeting a handsome stranger in a bar, realises that work isn’t all it’s cracked up to be and tells a few lies to secure the story of the year. We see her visit Paris, Barcelona, Rome, Venice and Amsterdam in her quest to discover who killed Angus Bright, was it the stranger she met in the bar. Throw in a sassy TV reporter, a sexy cameraman and the drug cartel you have the perfect book.
Five out of five!! Please bring back Sarah and Nick :-)

This was such a fun read, I loved it! The chemistry between the two lead characters is fab and a couple of love scenes were hot! This is the first book I have read by this author but it won’t be the last.

Thank you Netgalley and Pantera Press for a free copy of the book :)

Great book, kept me interested from the start. Loved the storyline, not too over the top!! Also the descriptions of all the locations were spot-on. Would definitely recommend this book to others. A good holiday read.

When Sarah is dumped by her boyfriend and left with the mortgage to pay and no explanation she is not very happy! Then she meets a musician Chris on a night out but he runs out on her so when she goes in to work the next day and finds out that he has gone on the run from the police she thinks that this could be her big break as a journalist and persuades her boss to let her go after him....... only trouble is the photographer going with her is Nick.... her ex's best friend!

An easy reading fun book, predictable but fast moving so it keeps you turning the pages

A jolly caper moving from Melbourne to Europe. One of those heroines you want to shout at, but have to keep reading, to find out what happens next. Has intrigue and romance . What’s not to love?

This is not necessarily the type of thing I'd normally go for, but the blurb was interesting so I went for it! And I enjoyed it - Sarah's boyfriend has recently upped and left with no explanation, leaving her broken hearted and broke. Her career as a journalist is restricted to the beauty column, and going nowhere, when she gets the chance to pick up on a celebrity gossip story and heads off to Europe from Melbourne, with a gorgeous photographer that she hates in tow.

The romance aspect is a little predictable, and it is a bit of a whistle-stop tour of major European cities as a celebrity story becomes tangled up in an international drugs ring, but it was fun to read. Sarah's a relatable and believable character and that's what makes the book.

I don't mind a bit of romantic easy to read fluff every now and then, you know what's going to happen the guy and girl will hook up and they'll all live happily ever after. This of course only happens once they've got over the obstacles along the way - in this case a drug cartel and a wrongly accused musician.

It's an easy to read summer book which I demolished in 2 days - did I love it, no. Were there any surprises, no. Was it easy to read and good fun, yes. Essentially isn't that all you want from a chick lit?

Thanks to NetGalley, Rebecca Freeborn and Pantera Press for my ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Sarah Burrowes is in a bit of a rut. Her live-in boyfriend has left her without explanation and with no money to pay the mortgage and her career as a journalist is at a standstill. So when she is picked up by a man who turns out to be a famous popstar and who is wanted in connection with the murder of one of the band members, she sees an opportunity. Lying to her boss that there are no more experienced journalists available she convinces her to send her on a trip to Europe to get the story that will launch her career. Before long she is chasing a drug cartel. I couldn't warm to this novel at all. Sarah is an annoyingly naive, supposedly feisty, pain in the neck. The plot is ridiculous and the trip across Europe is not much more than a checklist of tourist sites. You get no sense of the places at all. Thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the ARC.

Hot Pursuit by Rebecca Freeborn a five-star read that you will pursue. If you are in the mood for something fun but with a twist and a half for your summer read then this is the read you need. Sarah Burrowers goes on a trip that is a trip in more ways that she can dream of, life gave her lemons and she is making lemon soup, it’s not as sweet and successful as lemonade but is a lovely thing in the end. There are a few bits you will see coming, but overall it kept me hooked from start to finish and I will be keeping an eye on this author to see what she will bring us next.

This was a fun read. A bit of a whodunnit and a bit like the films you see where an ordinary person is thrust into very dangerous situations and manages to beat the bad guys. Sarah was an interesting character who albeit was a bit unbelievable in her antics, still engaged you.

I could compare this to the kinsella books. Fun and tongue in cheek

I loved this book. Sarah is a feisty but naive heroine.
On a night out following estrangement from her boyfriend, she meets musician Chris on a night out. There is some sort of connection but he leaves suddenly.
Sarah works for a Magazine but is largely unfulfilled. Her boss is looking for someone to do an article on Chris- the musician- who has been accused of murdering a band mate.
By subterfuge, Sarah gets the chance to pursue Chris and the story across various European countries, along with Nick, who she detests.
It is highly entertaining and quite a story unfolds, along with a developing friendship/undrestanding between Sarah and Nick.
Loved this book.
Thank you, Netgalley for giving me the opportunity to read this and express my honest opinion.

A mostly well written story. It's very reminiscent of works like Bridget Jones' Diary. The leads are both likeable and entertaining.

Entertaining and easy to read with likeable characters. I found the last quarter rather unbelievable and trivial, but still enjoyed reading it. Absolutely perfect beach or summer holiday reading.

Really liked this book as the story moved around from Melbourne to several of the European capitals. A very easy read with enough substance to get you hooked and wanting to know more. The heroine could be any of us and I felt was easily recognisable with broken heart, accident prone and naive. As the story moved from city to city, there were some fun surprises and twists along the way, nothing too taxing but it made it more enjoyable.

I was in the mood for some lighthearted romance but unfortunately it didn't turn out to be what I needed.

It starts with Sarah being dragged out to a bar by her friends to cheer her up after her boyfriend runs off and disappears leaving her with a mortgage that she can't afford. She meets a good looking Scotsman at the bar and they go back to his hotel but Sarah's still thinking of her ex and changes her mind about anything happening and then the guy gets a mysterious phone call and runs out on her. Monday morning comes around and Sarah goes to work as usual, only to find out that the man she met on Saturday night is a famous musician and has now gone on the run from the police. Sarah wants to follow this story but her boss, Katrina, wants to outsource it (quite rightly) to a proper journalist as it's a pretty big deal. Sarah manages to lie her way into following the story and sets off to Barcelona with the photographer, Nick, which she is not pleased about because 1. She had a one night stand with him a few years before and he treated her badly afterwards and 2. He's the best friend of her ex.

What follows is a bit of a mess, a trip through Barcelona, Rome, Paris and Amsterdam - and by trip I mean flying to each destination, getting a hotel room and passing one or two well known tourist attractions (ooh look it's the trevi fountain! must be in Rome!), some drama with the ex and a bunch of stupid, dangerous decisions and a lot of jumping to the wrong conclusion. There was no chemistry between the main characters and I honestly thought 90% of the dialogue was forced.

In the book's defense, it was a quick read and there were some humorous moments but on the whole it was a disappointing read for me. I do however think that there will be a lot of people out there who will enjoy this.

I loved this book! It is sad, poignant, thrilling, romantic, and I couldn’t put it down. I started it in the afternoon, and couldn’t go to bed until I’d finished it!
