This is one of the best books that I've read in 2017. It's a smart, intriguing mystery, and I could not put this book down until I finished it.

This is the second book by Stacy McKitrick in the Ghostly Encounters series. This book revolves around Dean and Maggie but Bridget and Rob feature quite a lot as well.

Maggie works in the office next door to Dean and they both have an attraction to each other. Maggie enlists Dean's help with a Ghost that is haunting her home but Maggie is one of the fortunate/unfortunate persons that Ghosts can possess. Her Aunt Lindy can't move on and Dean is the go-between who can see Lindy and has to find a way for her not to possess Maggie for Lindy's own purposes. Add into the story Maggie's cousin Eddie, his mother Gina and the house that was left to Maggie by her Grandmother which Aunt Gina is trying to get into to search for something of value and you have a book with lots of secrets and intrigue as well as a love story developing between Maggie and Dean.

I purchased the first book Ghostly Liaison and read it first so that I could get a good grasp on the characters but it is not necessary to do this but I would recommend you do as they are both good reads.

Thanks to Netgalley and Mythical Press for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I received a copy of Ghostly Interlude by Stacy McKitrick from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was intrigued by the summary and really wanted to like this novel, but it was a chore at times to keep reading. The plot could have been pulled together better - more linear and less mystery shoehorned in - and the characters developed better. There were flashes of real goodness, but then the story would get bogged down.

I would try reading another book by Stacy McKitrick to see if a future novel would improve in pacing and character development, but I wouldn't recommend this novel.
