Only the forst few chapters managed to download, and from what I read I enjoyed the insights of these forgottwn women scientists. I definitely learned a lot. I just wish the other chapters came thru.

If i ever find this book amongst my library I will grab it to finish it up.

This series of books is a must for any feminist! Part of a serie this book focuses on the forgotten female scientist, some you may have heard of and some you will wonder why you’ve never heard of them! Beautifully illustrated this is a fantastic read and I’ll be picking up the rest of the series!

This was such a fascinating read about many women who were scientist who I already knew about and others I had never heard of. There was the perfect amount of information about each woman so I got her story but also left me wanting more and going off to do my own research.

An empowering and fascinating book. I work at a boys only school and so this will be a welcome addition to the library/curriculum in regards to the STEM subjects.

This is an informative read and I found it to be interesting but I also found there to be errors throughout it regarding facts. I wouldn't read anything by this author again because of it.

Interesting sample of what will surely be a fascinating and empowering book. The book showcases women in science from various fields of study. It would make a wonderful read for a young girl interested in science.

As mentioned by a few other people this was only a sample with the first five women all focused on astronomy or earth science which is probably the area of science I am least interested in. But even with that said the biographies were well done. They were short but with enough detail to highlight the major accomplishments of the women and let me decide if I wanted to find a more in-depth book to read. This would be a great book for any upper elementary or middle school students and a good way to introduce them to various women scientists. I could see using this book in a variety of ways in the class room. I am giving this a three star rating because of the short sample but if the whole book is as well written it is probably a 4 star book.

I got a free ARC copy of this via NetGalley and the publishers in return for an unbiased review but this was just a sampler with only a handful of women, not the full book, so it’s hard to give much of a review. It’s a good premise, it’s split into fields of study, and gives a brief overview of their life and work - not sure I can say much more, having read so little.

Having enjoyed Forgotten Women: The Leaders so much I was really excited to pick up this next one in the series on Scientists. I was therefore disappointed to discover this was only a sample and not the whole book. I enjoyed the stories of the first five women and would like to read the rest. It is hard to give a more full review than that when I was not able to read the whole book.

I really enjoyed the variety of the different stories captured in this book. It’s one to keep coming back to time and again. Women were so much more intelligent, curious and powerful than they were given credit for. This book goes some way to give credit where it’s due and to recognise the injustice women faced in time gone by. Definitely one for the classroom.

Growing up as a girl in a man's world, this would have been an empowering book to read. I even had a teacher in the 1970s that said, No woman has ever done anything memorable in history. Well, as Marty McFly said in Back to the Future - History is going to change.

An important book, that is well overdue. Thank you.

This was one of the best books I have read in a long time. I wish it had more women and bios. I cannot wait to read more from this author.

Thank you NetGalley for providing me with a snippet of the eARC of Forgotten Women:The Scientists in exchange for an honest review.

I love reading biographies of women in STEM and especially those who worked on groundbreaking science. The book makes it clear that even if it's some women who get featured, it's groundbreaking that they were able to do science at their level given their circumstances, a sobering thought indeed. Do I agree with the nature of many of their origin stories? No. Did I roll my eyes at the slightly inappropriate nature of relationships between senior academics and these women? So much. Despite the lack of adequate context, are the stories of science and discovery fascinating? Big time. Looking earnestly to buy the full copy of the book for myself.

I really did enjoy reading this book. It's amazing to hear about women's incredible scientific achievements - especially those that weren't recognised.

It was sort of like a list of these women though, with a few pages for each person. I liked that there was a mixture of their life story and their work, as it made them come alive or at least seem more human (I hope that makes sense!).

What this book is great for is as a starting point to then go off and find out more about each of these women. I now want to read Cecilia Payne-Gaposchkins autobiography!

Forgotten Women is a beautiful compilation of the women that History forgot - and a must-read for any woman who feels like there's nobody out there they can look up to. Delving deep into the worlds of medicine, technology, chemistry, maths, and the universe itself - this book says the name of women who changed the world in their own way and gives us a valuable insight into the contributions women really made to science. Beautifully illustrated, concise and easy to read, this book gives you a perfect starting point if you want to learn more about these amazing scientists.

A delightful book on the strong, forgotten women in science. This was a fabulous overview on some obscure, underrated individuals, though if you are looking for detail this is probably not the one for you.

Really interesting! It's great to see so many women, who have been pioneers in their field, finally receiving some of the credit they deserve.

A thoroughly interesting book, I really enjoyed learning more about some of the women who were not only ahead of their time, but has to fight the adversity of being a female at a time when this in itself was a omit to how much could be achieved.

However, this book doesn't go into !such detailing any of the women, and is indeed very short. I did wonder if I had received only a partial copy to review, but similar things have been stated by other reviewers.

Although interesting, this book goes into little detail on any of the women, and I really feel a lot more could be done to make this even better. An excellent concept but ultimately needed to be filled out more

I really enjoyed this short book which briefly introduces us to women scientists that not many people know about. I truly love this concept, but because I have read and watched comics and a short mini-series ("Culottées") about unknown women already, I found that this book in comparison left me only half-satisfied. I wished more details were provided about the life of these women: their childhood, friendships, lovers, mentors, inspirations, dreams, what made them come beyond society's boundaries at that time—I wish we really got to know them, and not just be introduced to their work (which, as interesting as it sounds, was sometimes slightly complicated to understand).
It's a book I would recommend, but considering how short it is, the price might be slightly expensive.
