Becoming a stay-at-home mom, especially when you have to leave behind a successful career can be frustrating. The transition from a high-end social busy life to one where you are confined to your home changing diapers and doing household chores is not guarateed. But it is not impossible.
From Boardroom to Baby offers a very interesting roadmap for those moms working hard to enter into the new role. Acknowledging that such a new life is not easy at all, the author offer tailored advice and survival tips where the stay-at-home mom maintains her self-worth and self-esteem and together with the rest of the family is living a happy life.
With a bit of organisation, a right balance between the time spent indoors and outdoors, a search for likeminded moms and, why not, some business ideas for the mompreneur, the transition is not only doable, but can be also enjoyed as a tremendous yet rewarding change.
I really loved the book for the realistic stance - after all, staying at home is not for everyone - and for the well organised content and positive attitude. Recommended to any struggling new mom, but also to those considering staying at home and raising their babies.

Confession: I completely misunderstood what this book was when I requested it! I thought it was going to be about having kids in general, not specifically transitioning to stay-at-home mommyhood. That said, it is absolutely well-written for this niche audience. I will recommend it to library patrons looking for this. Since the available literature heavily favors mothers who continue to work and striking a work/life balance, this will be a very well-read book.
