I quite enjoyed this second book in the Arsenal series. The story continues where book one “Jagged Edge” left off and kicks ass just as well as its predecessor. The story is well written and at times quite emotional, with some major special ops action and plenty of intrigue and suspense. Once again, the women – the Brainiac back office ops, and ‘HERA’, their weaponized security system rule this story. We are introduced to Jud, aka ‘The Judge’ – a badass contract assassin who comes out of the darkness to play protector and pretty much steamrolls his way into Viviana’s business. I enjoyed their interactions and the slow dance that began their steamy relationship. The writing was smooth, the characters were well developed and the plot held my interest from start to finish. I’m looking forward to the next book in the series.

Jud would finally meet the group of women that saved his brother in law’s life so many years ago. Being handed a contract he has no desire to fulfill he works with Viviana to protect his family. He had a much darker life and would protect her from the impending threat at all costs. A race against the clock will save them all. Great action packed story.

I read and loved the first book in the series so I could not wait to read this book but I have to admit it did take a few chapters before I got into this one but once I did, I did not want to stop reading. It was a good read and can easily be read as a standalone looking forward to more from this action-packed series

When I saw this book had been released I was excited to read it having fallen in love with the men and women in this series after reading the first book. A word of warning, this should not be read as a stand alone. You will need to read the first book in the series in order to understand this book.

The book started off with a bang, no surprise there. I was eager to see how Viv dealt with the aftermath of what happened to Mary and how Mary found her way back to her life once again.

This book was a HUGE disappointment; to the point that I stopped reading about 60% of the way through. I have no idea where the strong, fierce Viv went from the first book but she definitely wasn't in this one. Judson manages to bulldoze her almost from the beginning of the book; he doesn't just want to take care of her but he wants to control her. Which she allows him to do!

Viv comes across as this weak little woman who can't take care of herself. Despite being a genius and created programs that help in the most dangerous missions, we're lead to believe that Viv can't take care of herself or make decisions on her own. This just didn't mesh with the character that was built up from the first book.

DNF 60%

Another good book by Cara Cairnes....not my favorite in the series, but still a decent read.

I so can't wait to read more from Cara and her works of art. Strong characters and a great story line. I just couldn't put it down once I started reading it either. I so have to go back and read book one of this series too. You will love reading Viviana and Judson's story. They both have to come together to save who they love.

Loved it! Terrific second story in the series that’s intense with fast paced action. Fantastic characters that are well written and hot. Jud as the hunk hero and Vi is the strong independent heroine. Great chemistry that off the charts. Can’t wait for the next installment. Thanks to NetGalley I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.

Sight Lines is romantic suspense at it’s very best. Take one bad ass assassin and mess with his family and you bring down hell on your whole operation. Better yet add in the genius back office operator you are being blackmailed to kill and Armageddon will seem tame. When Jud and Vi meet the world is shifted on its axis and you will enjoy the ride. Action, adventure and love a terrific addition to the series.

Betrayal, danger, suspense, sexual tension, alpha men, fierce women, loving bonds, vengeance, action...Sight Lines is one of those stories that goes on my reading obsession list.  Judge is one of the best heroes I've read in a while. I loved him. He was fiercely protective of not just Vi, but of his family. There is a slow burn intensity between Judge and Vi, written just right to show the chemistry between the two characters. Vi is a strong woman that doesn't back down, even though guilt is part of what drives her. I will definitely be re-reading this one.  I highly recommend.

Sight Lines is the second book in the Arsenal Series by Cara Carnes. While it is not necessary to read the first in the series, Jagged Edge, it does give you Mary’s story which is closely tied to Viviana’s. However, the author gives the needed background for Sight Lines to read well on its own.

This is a series that is high on action, latest technology and emotional turmoil with romance being part of the story. Sight Lines continues that vein which makes this a romance thriller of a story. My only expectation was I had thought that Vi would connect with one of the Arsenal team as Mary had. Ms. Carnes changes this up by bringing in an outsider with Jud and his nephew. This is amazing, keeping the story from becoming predictable especially in the romance element.

The Mason family including sister and mother are all there for support, but this is Vi and Jud’s story. Tough choices, vile bad guys and a great support team keep this story flowing. More secrets of the overarching theme are revealed but not completely solved. This is a series that keeps me reading and guessing.

I got this book free for an honest review. I liked this book it was an enjoyable read from start to end. I liked how people interacted with each other. I like how the Mason brothers acted together and with the other people. The main people in this book are Vi and J. You also meet J's some of his family his mom, dad, his sisters son and his ex brother in law but u don't meet the sister you learn about in the story. You also meet Vi's mum and dad and brother but they are not that close. I would highly recommend this book to others as well as the first book.

I received a copy of this book via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. My opinions are my own and there will be fan-girling...you have been warned ;)

I love love this series... I feel like this is the ultimate heroes meet the think tanks!! Only the Think tanks are kick ass as well. Ms. Carnes continues her series with Vi Mary's best friend and co-creator of HERA, a defense system everyone wants to get their hands on. Vi meets Jud, "The Judge" when his black organization tries to force him to complete a hit on her and Mary. Only problem is he owes them for a previous rescue and No One touches his family.

The Arsenal is getting pulled in many different directions and the brothers are up for the coming fight. However side issues in town are closer than they think and while they might not trust Jud, he and his think-tank nephew might end up saving them all.

Vi and Jud are the focus of this book, and their story draws you in. Jud is an operative that works in the darkest part of their world while Vi is struggling to stay impartial after her best friends horrible torture. She doesn't trust easily and she is dangerous and competent. However she's never learned to be open as she does with Jud. Jud is ALPHA...and he fits the bill. He may have operated in the black but his family and the Quillery Edge are off limits. He will go to war to keep them safe and he tones all that down when he is with Vi, showing her the man he can be outside work.

Ms. Carnes creates a world and characters that draw you in. You feel for them and connect to what they are going through. She also creates humor and wit as well as forgiveness and healing. I love that the characters are running missions but also helping vets get back on their feet. I love that her world building is so dimensional. It makes the story more captivating and makes me want more.

I can not wait to see where this goes next. Wherever Ms Carnes takes us it will be a hell of a ride!

The first book in this series, Jagged Edge, was one of my favorite books of 2017, so I was beside myself with excitement to read this one. When I first read the blurb, I was skeptical about whether I would like it as much. There are so many hotties at The Arsenal to choose from, why bring someone else into the mix to pair with Vi? It took just a few pages to erase that thought. Judson is a captivating character and the exact perfect match for Vi. This story broadens the cast of supporting characters by quite a few, and while you might think having such a large cast would be distracting, it's not. At all. Instead, it feels like a large family, with each member having an important role in the overall dynamic. Seriously, I don't know how Ms. Carnes does it. Her writing style is enthralling, her characters multidimensional, and her plot extremely realistic. Most of the time when I'm reading, I feel like I'm just floating above the story, watching the events unfold; with this series, I feel like I'm right there in the middle of it, like I know these people and am a part of what's happening to them. That takes an amazing talent to pull off. If Quillery and Edge are the heroes in the operative world, Ms. Carnes is a hero in the romantic suspense world. Give that woman a cape.

With all that being said, I will admit that I don't care for the cover. Not because it's unpleasant, but because it doesn't look anything like how Vi is described. This is one of my personal pet peeves, though...I don't think covers should include characters' heads/faces unless they at least have the right colored hair! Again, though, this is a weird quirk of mine and in no way whatsoever detracts from how wonderful this book is. If you haven't read the first one, start there. You won't be sorry.

A huge thank you to NetGalley and Heartscape Publishing for the ARC.

This may be only book two of the series but holy wow am I in love with girls of the Pentagon and the boys of the Arsenal. Not only do you get strong badass men but you get just as strong and brilliant nerdy women. Viviana “Quillery” is the main focus for this one. Not only is she fighting a battle of mental wills over what happen to her partner Mary "Edge" in the first book Jagged Edge but the new complications that arise in taking down the Hive. New enemies popped up and Jud "The Judge" comes to the Arsenal/Quillery Edge for support. Let me tell you as soon as Vi and Jud meet you can just feel the sexual tension from the very start. I love the slow build between Vi and Jud. Jud is hot lone wolf that when it comes down to it fits so well with the Arsenal. I'm loving all the new additions to the team. Sight Lines is one heck of a ride that will leave you on the edge of your seat flipping through the pages. I'm seriously in love with this series and can't wait to get my hands on the next book. Cara Carnes does an amazing job bringing the brains and brawn together to form a badass team.

As I got ready to read this book I remembered the first in the series and went back and reread (something I rarely do) that one. I love this series and its characters. I cannot wait for the next one to come out!

Fierce females and hot alpha males with lots of action, a tight bond with each other because no one else can truly understand what these people go through unless you've been there.

When the contract comes down to take the Quillery Edge out and try to get their program one man has a debt to pay these ladies that may cost him his life. Vi isn't concerned about the contract but she is concerned about her friend and partner, Mary, and getting vengeance. After all having a contract out isn't new.

Please read book one (Jagged Edge) so get the full experience, otherwise you'll be missing alot and this is a fantastic series!

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book is so action packed, romance, drama, and paramilitary organizations that deal with gray areas (THE HIVE), black areas (THE COLLECTIVE) and white knights (THE ARSENAL) with HERA. A little note, it
is best to read these books in order of their series release to keep current on all the details. I give it 5 stars it rocks so much.
