3.5 stars. I enjoyed getting to know Carrie, Beth, & Aunt June more in the second installment of the Montana Mountain series. Caught up in misadventures and romance, Carrie is a fight for her own future and making her own choices.

Thank you to Netgalley and the author for my copy in exchange for an honest review.

Simon Sanders, has isolated himself following a cougar attack one year ago. Hiding his scarred face from the world he seeks solace at the bottom of a whiskey bottle.
Carrie Kerr, cannot watch the man she loves suffer any longer. Kidnapping him to bring him back to the world seemed like a good idea at the time. Can she help Simon return to the world and maybe share a life together?
Both characters are strong independent people who are helped on their journey by a colourful cast of supporting characters. The word building is by far my favourite in this book. I can imagine myself in the wilds of Montana.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own. For more reviews please visit my blog:

Unfortunately, after reading 50% of this story, I just wasn't interested in the characters or whether they fell in love or not..

I was given an ARC by the author for an honest review.
Wild Passion follows the story of Simon and Carrie, who we were introduced to in the first book of the series, White Water Passion. If ever there was a stubborn, passionate set of fictional characters its Simon and Carrie! I absolutely adore them and their story! Where White Water Passion was more technical at times, Wild Passion is all about the development of Simon and Carrie’s relationship and the hurdles they face along the way.
After his accident, Simon is no longer himself and Carrie with the help of Beth and Aunt June kidnap him and take him back up the mountain to the lumber mill. He’s determined to seduce her out of revenge. She’s determined to become a spinster like her Aunt. Both try to hide their true feelings from one another not wanting to admit they’ve loved each other since the beginning.
I truly enjoyed reading about their romance. The way the characters matured and their relationship blossomed. We all need a Simon Sanders in our lives! I got emotional throughout the book, following him on his path towards healing. Wild Passion is filled with romance, adventure, laughter, sorrow, of course passion and even some anger (I’m referring to you Thomas!)
Although a secondary storyline, I also enjoyed getting an update on Beth and Garrett from White Passion. Beth is as adventurous and thrill seeking as ever and her loyalty to her best friend Carrie is to be respected. And Aunt June! Dear Aunt June! Such a lovable character as well!
I highly recommend Wild Passion to everyone, you will not be disappointed! Especially by the twist at the end!
Thank you once again Dawn for a great read. You truly captured a beautiful love story!

Really enjoyable story, well executed friends to lovers romance, set in the beautiful and wild Montana Territory.
Simon and Carrie are great characters, complex and historically believable.
The scarred hero is such a wounded man, brave, virile, yet capable of such sweet gestures as offering Carrie a pup (Nots) or flowers. Great characterization as a man recently scarred by a cougar attack and slowly healing and learning to live with the disfigurement (and going from a seducer to a less than perfect man).
Carrie is a strong woman, and her characterization, seeking independence while displaying insecurities and fears, is quite realistic for a 19th century female character.
I especially liked the depiction of the logging operation, the descriptions of the beautiful and dangerous American West and how the author, Dawn Luedecke, interwove the romantic plot with that stunning, rugged and wild setting.

Loved the setting, wonderful description to put the reader in the book. The characters were flawed and well done. Romance was believable and will satisfy readers who want both escapist yet a basis in "real".
