I was so excited to learn that Shelly was expanding her Pride universe with a brand new series. This is a great kick-off to a brand new set of characters with Laurenston trademark humour and adventure. You also get to see past characters years in the future. Can't wait to read more in this series.

Oh, it was so nice to read Shelly Laurenston again! She’s one of my favorites and it has been too long since picked up one of her books, I decided that I should finally start her Honey Badger Chronicles. I didn’t realize how much I missed her writing until I started Hot and Badgered and the more into it I got, that good familiar feeling I experience when I’m in one of her worlds happened and I just absolutely loved this book!

I loved the characters, the humor, and all the shenanigans. I enjoyed the family dynamics of Berg and Charlie’s, all the characters’ different quirks, and the plots. Hot and Badgered was highly entertaining, action-packed, steamy, and full of heart and good vibes. I completely loved and adored it and I can’t wait to read more of the series!

I've been a fan of the Pride series since its very beginning. I've enjoyed all the stories and characters, so when I found it that the author was planning this spin-off with the Honey Badger sisters I couldn't wait to get my hands on it.

This book has everything I've come to expect from Shelly Laurenston books -- humor, action and intrigue. I enjoyed the sisters' antics, their bickering and most especially their loyalty to one another.

Charlie was an amazing character to read. She was a survivor and took her role as her sisters' protector seriously. So of course, when she finds out that her little sister is in danger, all bets are off -- even the cute grizzly that follows her around can't stand in her way.

And Berg was cute! He was the perfect partner for Charlie. He understood where she was coming from and knew how to comfort her when the stress became too much. He was also funny and sexy, which Charlie was oblivious to from time to time.

There is a lot going on in this story and although the romance between these two was awesome to read, it did feel like it took a backseat to everything that was happening around them. However, being as this is book 1 in a brand new series, I understood why it was done that way. In truth, I liked that the romance was slow burn, because I wouldn't have believed it otherwise.

I can't wait to read more about the MacKilligans sisters.

Shelly Laurenston books are always hysterical and her new honey badger series is that and more! I loved this story of Charlie and Berg but even more so, this felt the story of Charlie and her sisters! All around epic read!

Shelly Laurenston books are always hit or miss for me -- sometimes the romance is missing. Thankfully Hot and Badgered worked well for me and I stayed up late to finish it, laughing at the campy goodness and cheering the kickass women on. Still, the romance wasn't the strongest but the other things made up for it and left a smile on my face.

Few books make me laugh out loud no matter where I am and Shelly Laurenston makes this happen with every book. I love a great shifter book and this series has ruined me for others. Her characters are always relatable and hilarious.

I love Shelly Laurenston’s books and this one was no exception. The badger series is awesome and Charlie was a great leading lady. I can’t wait for the next addition to this series!

This was only a sample not the full book so I cannot leave a review since I don't know the full story. I may try getting a copy through my public library at some point. If I do I will post a review of my thoughts on Goodreads.

This is the story of three half sisters, who are all part honey badger shifters. Laurenston has all books about all kinds of shifters. She does a great job writing story lines about the specific species and then intertwining them.
In this story, each sister has their own special talents. Charlie who is a mix of wolf/honey badger, she just doesn't shift into her animals. She really doesn't need it anyways. Max who is might be psychotic. Then we have the baby of the family who spends time in mental institutes when she needs and break from being a genius 20ft tiger/honey badger. This is the story of Charlie and Berg (a wolf shifter). When Charlie Taylor-MacKilligan comes running into Berg’s life, he simply cannot just let her go, especially when it seems like she is in trouble. Running from people trying to kill her, you can already get the feeling that this book is going to be a wild ride. Fans of Laurenston will devour this book. New fans should start with the Crows.

This was only for the first chapter but I loved, loved, loved what I did read. I always love Shelly Laurenston's books and I imagine Hot and Badgered will be no different especially if the first chapter is anything to go by. I can't wait to read the rest of the book and am eagerly awaiting the release date to get it in my hands and read it in one sitting as per usual.

Though this is not my typical genre, this is also not a typical entry in said genre. Honestly, I liked it much more than I anticipated. It really is funny - as in, laugh out loud and look around to see if anyone noticed kind of funny. The characters are kick-ass (literally *and* figuratively), and the story moves right along. There is actually less of the sexxy stuff than I thought there would be, though it does finally happen - and when it does, it's short and fairly blunt. Seemed fitting, though, considering the shifting aspects of the characters.

Overall, I'm pretty sure I'll end up reading book two - which is also a bit of a surprise.

When Charlie landed on Bergs balcony and he helped her he never thought he would see her again but sure enough he did and her crazy sisters too. Charlie, Max and Stevie share a bond they are half sisters and honey badgers of course each is mixed with another shifter which really makes the story interesting. When Charlie and Max try to check up on Stevie in the institution she checked herself in they won’t let them see her because someone in the institution is trying to kidnap her. Barely making it out of there the girls meet up with Bergs and his family who are a group of bears, Bergs is crazy attracted to Charlie but the situations that the girls get into are scary and funny but the underlying story here is that you would do anything for your family even if you have to kill.

A series featuring honey badger shifter sisters? YES PLEASE!

This is yet another spin-off from Laurenston’s eternally growing shifter books, and it is a great addition to the world. The series centers on the three MacKilligan half sisters: Max, Stevie, and Charlie, the heroine of this first book. The women have a crappy father who takes “deadbeat” to a whole new level. They’ve basically spent their entire lives trying to extricate themselves from their dad’s schemes and the incredible danger he constantly puts them in. (And let’s face it, they are constantly making their own enemies too!) In this book, their lives are once again in danger thanks to their dad, and they come to the attention of the secret shifter organization we’ve see in the other books, called The Group. Charlie also meets Berg, a large and sweet bear shifter. When Berg takes a liking to Charlie, he starts to help them and quickly gets himself and his two siblings sucked into the MacKilligan’s bananas world.

I love these sisters! Charlie, Max, and Stevie are all messed up in their own ways, but they never fail to support each other. They argue and give each other a hard time, but they always have each other’s back. This is some fierce female love right here. (Figurative and literally fierce--these ladies are violent and aggressive, as you would expect from honey badgers!) I also love Berg and his siblings. They are triplets, and while they are infinitely more well-adjusted than the MacKilligan sisters, they are just as devoted to each other. I know it’s rare in real life to have sibling relationships like these, but I love the fantasy in my books.

Charlie is an excellent character, too. She is an organizer, a manager, and a people handler. She’s the one who often talks them out of the messes her sisters and her dad get them into. Her talents aren’t as flashy, or scary, as her sisters', but she’s really the glue that keeps them all together and functioning. In a way she reminded me of Toni Jean-Louis Parker from Laurenston’s Wolf with Benefits (and we see a bit of Toni in this book too), but without so much of the type-A arrogance that makes Toni a bit off-putting at times. Berg is a great match for Charlie as well. He’s a quiet, strong support for her and does so without dampening her strengths or trying to get between her and her sisters. You can tell Berg is the first person who’s simply supported Charlie without any expectation of something in return, and it takes Charlie a while to figure out what to do with that kind of love. Once she does, though, it’s adorable.

This book is very much in the vein of Laurenston’s other shifter books, but I do think the MacKilligan sisters are some of her most interesting and fun characters so far. I loved this book and can’t wait to read more.

Another amazing shifter book by Shelly Laurenston. Her world continues to grow and the characters just keep getting better. I can't wait to see what happens next to these amazing honey badger sisters.

at first I was like, why is this book so violent and have so many characters and where is the sex?

and then I came to realize that maybe this isn't just a romance novel. if you're looking for just romance, look elsewhere. this is trying to be a romance and a mystery and a genre fiction and there are consequently a LOT of plots going on and the fact that your kindle says it will take like 7 hours to read is not some huge mistake. sex doesn't happen until the last hour!

I have never read any of the author's other books. there are a lot of characters in relationships in this one and I get the sense they all had their own books. this didn't really affect my enjoyment - not knowing them. I mean, some were kind of annoying because I could see there was a joke and I got it but I'm sure I would have been more thrilled if I was more in on it. but whatever.

I absolutely loved the 3 sisters, their personalities and relationships to one another. I'm hugely interested in seeing them get their own books. but now that I'm invested in them I don't see myself going back and reading the other books because I already know the sisters are not in them. shrug.

I received a free advance reader copy of this book from the publisher. I recommend it to people who like the kresley cole series and the stephanie plum series because it kind of reminded me of a combo of those kinds of books.

So as with all of my reviews for this author's work, I have to preface everything I’m about to say with the fact that if you are looking for something even remotely normal—be it characters, writing style, or plotline—I recommend you look elsewhere. Shelly Laurenston is an amazing author, but her sense of humor is a little bit off and if you aren’t ready to deal with that, jump ship right now…
Now, with that being done, I will share that this new spin-off series kicks off with some seriously hilarious moments and sexy as all get out characters kicking ass. I loved every single second of this story despite the fact that these characters are even more odd than in previous series. There is a continuation from her previous shifters series with many characters and places carrying over, but some fun new people as well. I loved getting to know the honey badger family dynamic a bit more, beyond having just met Livy in previous novels. Charlie and Berg were hilarious together, neither of them really understanding one another, but Berg’s protectiveness toward her was beyond sweet and seeing them working together to solve their families' issues was entertaining. I loved Berg and wish I could find one just like him to make my very own. He was a serious badass in one moment, but in the next his brain would lead him to a more strategic fix and he’d actually use his mind instead of his body or muscles to get his way. Charlie on the other hand has been leading her little family out of the trouble they get into for decades already and knows just what needs doing, even if she resists having to do it sometimes. I enjoyed seeing her plotting mind moving chess pieces until she was able to call checkmate on her opponents and the game was over. In the end Berg and Charlie realized they work best together and despite the craziness that would become their lives, a mating between a honey badger and a grizzly was just what the doctor prescribed. I am looking forward to what comes next.
