This has to be one of my all-time favorites of Shelly Laurenston's book! It had me laughing like her earlier Magnus Pack books. The Jean-Louis Parkers are back and as dysfunctional as ever. The MacKilligans are just as dysfunctional and funny. We thought that Dee-Ann and Cella were scary and crazy but these sisters have them beat (and literally at one point). I hope to see books for each sister.

What makes this book a 5? I had to go back and read it a second time right after I had just finished it. Loved it!

OMG! OMG! OMG! Taking a deep breath here OMG! OMG! OMG!

The shifters are back!!!!

Can you tell how excited I am? There are just some authors, series, books that you just can't live without and for me that's Shelly Laurenston. Her shifters rock! No one writes a funnier story then her. Sure, there are other authors that write shifters that I just totally love and I wouldn't take anything away from them. They too rock. But for some reason I would be a little heartbroken if Laurenston ever stop writing or changed her voice.

Hot and Badgered is the start of a new series. Like I mentioned above she is back to writing shifters. Not that I didn't like her crows. I did, in fact I will miss some of those characters, but they couldn't hold a candle to how I feel about the shifters.

Not only do we have a new set of charcters, she had many of her past characters visit. So many of them I can't name them all or the review would only be a list of names. I will mention for those who love her other shifter series that Kyle and Bo are in this story! Do I need to say more?

Since Hot and Badgered is a new series you will have new characters to enjoy. Charlie and her sisters are going to thrill you. You will find yourself loving them. They kept me laughing throughout the book. The rest of her family is a little bit crazy. Some you'll like, others will just piss you the hell off!

I can't forget Berg and his family either. They are the sweetest, nicest bears you'll ever meet. I hope that his sister and brother find their loves in this series too.

I just loved enjoying how Charlie and Berg fell in love. It was a slow simmer that ended in a satisfying love story. Their romance builds up over time. It spans the book and you really feel connected with them. Your heart will give a little sigh!

Now this series can be read on it's own but why should it? Start with her Pride series and read that first that way when the charcters from those books show up you'll truly have a picture of who they are. Believe me when I say it will make for a better story. Not to worry though because of how good her books are you'll be caught up in no time.

Oh wow! I just love how ridiculous these characters are and despite it all I love them all and get sucked completely into their world. Charlie, Max and Stevie are three crazy badgers and boy did I love their dynamics. The Dunn’s were a interesting family too. For lovers of Magnus Pack and the Pride series you will love this. We see lots of past favorite characters....Dee Ann, Bo and more! This is a must read in my opinion, this new series starter has opened up the world I enjoyed so much originally and I can’t wait to see where this goes.

<b>"'Sociopath is in the eye of the---''---forensic psychologist working for the prosecution?'"</b>

Right book. Right time. Life has kicked my butt this week - work and family and stress. And in the midst of a messy house and 12 hour days I found a book that made me love everything about it.

There's a lot of world-building here. And enough characters that it should be obnoxious and confusing. Laurenston made it work.

In a nutshell, Charlie and her insane sisters are plagued by their father's bad decisions. While fleeing another attempted murder/kidnapping Charlie meets Berg - a super chill grizzly who wants to be the one to take care of Charlie for a change. The romance is not the main focus of this book. Charlie's relationship with her sisters, tons of action, lot of humor, and a huge community of shifters made up most of the story. Charlie and Berg were understated perfection, and I adored that.

<b>"'Not to be rude but if either of you find a man..you need to hold that man.'"</b>

There is a lot of talk about how bad-ass Charlie is, and not much talk about her looks. For that alone this book earned my love and respect. Add to that it made me laugh out loud and that I struggled to pry myself away from it? Pretty much book perfection. Now I'm off to gobble up all the Shelly Laurenston I can find. (And to not-so-patiently wait for the next book in this series).

Hot and Bagered by Shelly Laurenson is part of her shifter series. Charlie and her sisters have always taken care of themselves. There farther has stollen from the family but hes a idiot and keeps losing what he stole. Berg cant help but want to help Charlie and her sisters. He comes ro realize he wants Charlie and will do what he needs to do to keep her safe. But Charlie and her sisters can take care of themselves. Great addition to the series!!! Old and New friends pop in with lots of laughs, adventures and action! Cant wait for more by this great author. 5 stars!!

THIS HAS BEEN ADDED SINCE I HAVE READ THE WHOLE BOOK!!! Only down point of this book was having to wait so long between the first chapter last year and the complete story now. It was fantastic and worth the wait. I never wanted the pages to end. Had it all - - fantastic author first off who is able to weave words together so artfully. Action, Romance, Great Characters, Paranormal flavor and fast moving prose. Hope for another book involving these amazing badger sisters and the bear triplets that live down the street. OMG SO MUCH LOVE FOR HER BOOKS. This one is a brilliant addition to her library. There's overlap of previous shifter characters, but not in an oppressing manner--It should be totally possible to read this book without having seen any of her previous books. But unlike the previous books this is much more of an outside of the culture book, even with all the overlapping characters, I hope this holds true with what I assume the rest of the series will be. (Also, I want to know more about the POV character from the prolog. Will we see her again???)

This is another of Shelly Laurenston's humorous paranormal romances. Berg Dunn is a grizzly and a security specialist. Charlie Taylor-MacKilligan and a wolf-honey badger hybrid. They meet when Charlie, on the run from unknown assassins, lands naked and bloody on Berg's hotel balcony. She escapes with his best gun and one of his tee-shirts leaving him curious about what her situation was.

Charlie has always been the protector for her two younger half-sisters. Max is all honey badger and a borderline sociopath kept from total mayhem by her love for her sisters. Stevie is the youngest and is a honey badger-Siberian tiger hybrid. She is also a certified genius who is subject to panic attacks. The three girls have banded together since childhood to protect themselves from their father who is immoral, inept and constantly doing things that are likely to get his daughters killed. For example, when she was much younger, he tried to sell Stevie to a Peruvian drug lord to cook up meth for him. Now it looks like he has tried to sell Stevie again and it is up to her sisters to save her.

When they run into Berg again in New York City, he offers to help which is a unique situation for Charlie. No one has ever offered to help. Her MacKilligan family has more or less written them off unless they want to use them to get to their father. Right now they do because Freddy has stolen 100 million British Sterling from his brother and he wants it back. Also their aunt Bernice wants to hire them to make sure that her daughter's wedding to an all-human wealthy man goes ahead without a hitch.

Berg's help lands the girls in a house smack in the middle of the bear section of New York City. Did I mention that Stevie is terrified of bears and tends to have more panic attacks around them? She can often be found hiding up a tree or in a kitchen cupboard. But Charlie's habit of baking when she is under stress quickly endears her to all their sweet loving neighbors.

Lots of characters from earlier books in this series make appearances in this one too. From the lethal wolf Dee Ann Smith to the hockey-obsessed bear Bo Novikov to the Jean-Louis Parker family of jackals. There is a lot of humor in this story and a really nice romance too. My only complaint is that the problem with Freddy MacKilligan wasn't resolved by the end of the book. Of course, that does give lots of room for more books and maybe even romances for Charlie's younger sisters.

Flipping amazing, I can not praise this book enough!

I went into it knowing I was going to like it a lot, but I didn't think I was going to love it this much. I'm not even sure where to begin, the book can be read as a standalone, but then I don't think it really can, I'm hesitant to what way I should say it falls under. Only because this one had so many characters from the PRIDE series pop up through out the story. It to me in important to know everyone, I am so thankful that Shelly is one of my fav authors and that I read everything that she has put out in both this world. It makes me want to go and purchase some of her Crow books, anyways way of topic. Sorry!

Hot and Badgered is about three Honey Badger sisters, though they are not full honey badger they are hybrids, and man do they pack a punch! And then there are the Dunn triplets, omg you guys I am so flipping excited that they are BEARS!

Shelly writes some of the best comedy romance, in paranormal romance she has created one of the best worlds I have ever visited!

Berg Dunn and Charlie Mackilligan are legit the coolest characters, you are going to love them and there siblings, I am really excited to see where this series takes us, especially now that we know who the bad guys are, I feel it in my bones that this is going to be a fantastic new series, interwoven with her Pride series.

Shelly's writing is flawless, it keeps you engaged, laughing and with the small romance burning in the background is the perfect blend to keep me happy. The sisters Max and Stevie, I cant even with them two! they are HILIRIOUS. the bond the girls have is seriously one that you wouldn't wont to mess with. With some mystery, so much belly laughter. I just sat here for 3 days smiling and laughing, enjoying myself getting caught up with everyone, it was the reunion.

On the 27th of March be sure to pick up a copy, Shelly fans the WAIT IS OVER!

I’ve decided that 2018 is going to be the year I include more romantic comedies in my reading schedule. I always feel so good when I finish up a book that really make me laugh out loud all the way through. There’s fun PNR and then there’s Shelly Laurenston. I always know that I’m in for an adventure when I open her newest release. I’m usually not sure how she’ll take me there or what crazy, ridiculous antics are going to occur on the way, but I’m always up for the ride. I really, really love this author.

Hot and Badgered is the first book in the Honey Badgers series. Which is a spin-off of her much beloved Pride series. In fact this whole book is peppered with all the characters and couples we’ve grown to love over the years. And now there is a wonderful new trio of honey badger sisters to shake things up again. The heroine of Hot and Badgered is Charlie Taylor MacKilligan, a half honey badger/half wolf shifter, raised with her half sisters in the wolf pack once her mother passed. She HATES her no good father, who does nothing but get her and her sisters into trouble. She’s the oldest and the most stable of the MacKilligan sisters. Think of her as their handler… the one who keeps them from killing other people, and each other. I mean she has her own issues, but she is loyal and loves her siblings.

Our hero is a bear shifter named Berg who first meets Charlie when she, naked and armed, busts into the hotel room where he is working as a bodyguard. He helps her out and gets stabbed in the process. Charlie is being chased by a group of assassins, and she doesn’t really know why, other than it maybe has something to do with her piece of shit father. They meet up again when Charlie and her sisters wind up in a safe house that happens to be the main residence of one of their cousins. You might remember her and her husband… Livy and Vic. Berg offers a better place for them to stay, in the middle of a bear shifter neighborhood and right across the street from Berg and his siblings, Dag and Britta.

This book is just as laugh out loud, ridiculously funny as I expected it to be. I loved being back in this world, I didn’t realize how much I missed it until Charlie and her sisters started blowing shit up and kicking ass and taking names. The romances in this series are so subtle that by the time the H/H finally get to settling down in sexual bliss I’m more than ready. I think Berg and Charlie follow that mold. But he shows his concern for her welfare early on and is more than willing to come to her and her sister’s aid when needed. He’s just a big ole’ protective bear and I loved that.

One of the things I adore about this world is that the heroines are so crazy cool. Emphasis on the crazy. They are bold, and vibrant, and not afraid to be exactly who they are and enjoy what they enjoy. I LOVE THAT. Charlie and her sister’s have quite a few anxiety issues, which most likely stem from their terrible father and all the crap he’s pulled over the years, but they are dealing with it and doing it together as a team. Berg just slides right in and learns to understand why Max is so violent and Stevie gets startled all the time.

I couldn’t even go into the details of this plot and all the threads woven into this story if I wanted to. It is one hell of a crazy ride and trust me when I tell you, there is A LOT going on. But its fun in a ridiculous way and I absolutely, 100% can not wait until I can go back to Honey Bader land again. Final Grade-B

Charlie, Max and Stevie are all half-sisters. They all have the same no good, thieving, idiot father who is constantly getting himself into trouble. The problem with that is that people think they can get to their father through his daughters. Not! Charlie, Max and Stevie were all raised first by Charlie’s mother and then when she died, by Charlie’s grandfather in a wolf pack. Charlie is half honey badger and half wolf. Max is all honey badger and Stevie is half honey badger, half tiger. They’re all incredibly dangerous and can take anyone who comes after them. That doesn’t mean they want to.

When the girls’ father once again gets them into the middle of things, Charlie, Max and Stevie take help from an unlikely source. Berg is a bear shifter and completely smitten with Charlie. He offers to help house them and they end up renting a house in an all bear neighborhood. Berg just happens to live across the street so this is convenient for him to be near Charlie as much as possible.

When the girls finally figure out what they father has done to get people after them they try to remedy the situation, but a wedding their not invited to, twin aunts who have no idea they're shifters and a psychopathic cousin make this incredibly difficult. With help from a bunch of unlikely sources the girls try to make their lives as normal as possible.

I love honey badgers. LOL They are tough and don’t take anyone’s shit. They can fight anyone and probably win and have a blasé attitude while doing it. This particular group of honey badgers made me laugh constantly. I love the way that Laurenston writes and her characters are always so alive and so incredibly irreverent.

This was Charlie and Berg’s romance but their relationship was so entwined into the story that it was more about everything else going on. That actually worked for me. There was SO much going on in this book that to add more of the romance wouldn’t have felt right.

I adored Charlie, Max and Stevie’s relationship. They were constantly at war with each other, yet they loved each other dearly and would have each other’s back in a hot minute. Charlie was very protective of her sisters and especially Stevie as she kind of had her head in the clouds. She’s a complete genius and was in her head a bit more than she was in reality. When people try to take Stevie for her big brain Charlie does everything she can to stop it. The girls may not hug each other on a regular basis but I could feel the love between the three.

I can’t tell you all the little bits of this book because A) there are a lot of bits! And B) you need to read it for yourself in order to get what’s going on. This was a fun and crazy book and I really enjoyed it. A great start to a new series that still includes people from other series that we already know and love.

I finally got my grabby hands on the full length version of this book ! Having previously read the first chapter tease that the publisher released I was extremely keen to know just what was planned next for the honey badgers in this book. We meet three sisters who are all so very different and yet believe me when it comes to protecting their little family they will do absolutely anything.
I've long been a fan of the authors dragon shifter books and think this story had all the same elements going on. Siblings at war with each other, often with hilarious results and yet a story that winds along pulling the reader in until it's impossible to predict just what will happen. No spoilers here but when it comes to families you just have to believe that in this world there are conniving relatives who lie, cheat, steal and generally just backstab their way through life uncaring or maybe even oblivious to consequences.
I looked up honey badgers and the results showed that this animal has the ability to adapt to its surroundings making it least likely to become endangered. Plus it's listed as carnivorous with few predators due to its ferocious defensive abilities. Now bottle all that up in an angry, often unreasonable and yet strangely rational person and you have Charlie. She's very defensive of her sisters but also sees them exactly as they are. So when the youngest is targeted for kidnapping Charlie isn't lying down. Oh wait maybe that's not exactly correct because when we meet her she's about to fall almost into the arms of a grizzly! Yes there's romance but no mate trope involved thankfully just a slow burn as the author concentrates on giving her readers a mad, detailed trip into the crazy world her shifters live in. In many ways Charlie and her sisters are outcasts but with the cute, noninvasive Berg around slowly but surely their lives change.
So many characters get involved in this story with plenty of old favourites showing up . I loved it and the madcap caper just pulled me in and now I'm tempted to read it again! These characters are extreme, they are truly larger than life but I've a feeling we haven't seen the last of them and I for one can't wait for more.
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

Really loved this book. So great to catch up with some favourites.

Offbeat and hilarious with plenty of action, romance, and the family dramas that Shelly Laurenston is so good at mixing into an amazing book. As soon as I finished this one I wanted to read it again and again just because it is so good, I have really missed her shifters and while I love her other series the shifters were the first books that introduced me to her so are still my favorite characters. She has introduced us to a new set of “Good Guys” and “bad guys” some of whom may even not even be family. We also get a chance to catch up with a bunch of our favorites from the her previous series and maybe we will get a chance to read some future books about them too.

This is one of Laurenston's best books yet. I found myself literally laughing out loud in places. I can't help but admire the range of unusual (yet hilarious) situations she puts her characters through. My readers can't get enough of her!
