I found this story to drag. The characters were interesting.. I couldn't keep reading it. The characters seem to have a problem communicating their true feeling about the friends and family.

Great debut Sandie Jones! A disturbing, suspenseful domestic thriller. I had heard a few people talking about this book so I was intrigued. Once I started it, I couldn't put it down. Emily fell in love with Adam, but his mother was another story. Adam's mother Pammie did everything she could to get rid of Emily and stop the wedding. Emily just became more determined to overcome Pammie's maneuvers and marry Adam. The trouble was Adam just didn't see how mean his mother was being to Emily. I'm not so sure I could stay with a man so tied to his mother that he refused to see the trouble she was causing - no matter how much I loved him. It would really be hard to marry a man when you would have to put up with this witch of a woman - she's just evil.
This book had a great twist to it that I didn't see coming. It was fast-paced and well-written. I did think Emily was a really weak woman - but there are many of them around. And I didn't really care for Adam the way he had blinders on when it came to his mother. But I loved hating Pammie!
Thanks to Sandie Jones and St. Martin's Press through Netgalley for an advance copy.

I love these types of stories! Sandie Jones writes in a way that makes you eager for more! She definitely made the characters come alive... I felt as if I was right there with them. Love the story line, definitely a must read!

This book started out a little slow, but I am so glad I stuck with it! It picked up fast and then I couldn't put it down. And the ending! I never saw it coming, never suspected for a minute!

This was more chick-lit than mystery or thriller. The characters and dialogue were boring and cliched, and the plot is slow. The twist is thrown in right before the end and doesn’t do much to change my experience of the book. The best parts were the nastiness of the boyfriend’s mother; this could have been a lot better if that part was taken further and this was a comedy novel instead.

The Other Woman was exactly the type of thriller book that I love to pick up. While I thought I had everything figured out, the whole thing snuck up on me and smacked me right in the head! Emily, the main character, was likeable, but at times I didn't understand her decisions. Although, after further reflection, I feel like she was just desperate to find her true love. Adam, her fiance, was a great character because I wasn't sure if I was supposed to rot for him or not. I wasn't sure if he was an amazing or delusional fiance. And finally, his mom, Pammie (which, by the way, I have never been bothered too much by a character's name, but her name just rubbed me the wrong way every time I read it) was weird, borderline creepy. This novel did not disappoint!

The Other Woman is a book that I have been highly anticipating after reading its blurb and seeing it posted around the book world. This story and the characters immediately engrossed me. I flew through the pages, needing to know what would happen next and ended up finishing this book in less than twenty-four hours. As with every mystery and thriller I read, I had a few theories as to what was really going on or what the twist would be. By the halfway mark I really only had two theories, but the best part of this book was that BOTH my theories were wrong, which rarely happens and made me enjoy The Other Woman even more.
I voluntarily received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

All I can say is that I was highly impressed with this psychological thriller! I did not see the plot twists coming. This was very well written and held my attention so closely. It was definitely a book that I could not put down and finished it very quickly. I highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good psychological thriller. One of the best I have read lately!

Well, I started this last night shortly before going to bed. Then I just could not quit till I finished, so I stayed up all night. This should tell you how much I enjoyed it.
Rated R for language and sex

The Other Woman was not at all what I thought, but in the best way!
I started reading this book without re-reading the synopsis, so I went in blind. The opening was wonderfully done and immediately grabbed my interest. But the other woman was not who I expected it to be. If you read the synopsis prior to this book, you’ll know who the other woman is, but it was the first surprise for me as I read.
I came to hate the other woman and shook my head at the things she did and said. What lengths was she willing to go to? And only Emily seemed to notice how awful she was? Ugh! But even the other woman is not all she seems to be. There was an excellent twist at the end that had this reader picking her jaw up off the floor. I love a good twist and I got it!
The isn’t a break neck speed novel, but if you’re looking for the next great twist/surprise, this is a book you need to read.

#TheOtherWoman was NOT what you think. You have to read this to see for yourself. I read it through #NetGalley, and this book is just all kinds of strange but still a decent read. Enjoy

What do you do when you meet the man of your dreams...but his mother is something out of your nightmares? Emily is faced with this dilemma in Sandie Jones' newest book, The Other Woman. Adam is handsome, charming, successful, and loves his family. So what's the problem? It's how much he loves his family and the lengths he will go to defend the most atrocious behavior. So what's a girl to do? Give up? Or fight back?
I really enjoyed this book with all its twists and turns. I had a hard time believing that Adam was worth all this trouble, but new love can be blinding. This was a really great book that had you rooting for Emily the whole time. I loved Pippa and Seb, her supportive inner circle, as well as her relationship with her own mother. The ending was exciting and caught me off guard. I would definitely recommend this book if you're looking for a summer read that you can't put down. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

The Other Woman is a psychological thriller.
Initial thoughts: I did not read the book blurb and was actually a bit disappointed at who the "other woman" was.
I am unsure how to rate this book. I really liked the beginning ... until I realized what the title meant. Then I didn't love any of the characters. However the last few chapters were exceptional. I love a good reveal. I love shocking twists. The end of this book was everything!
The Other Woman is a psychological thriller. The book takes place in the UK. The narrator is Emily (27).
This book started off extremely strong. I love a good story where there is a jealous woman who tries to break up a couple. The prologue was riveting and creepy until I realized who the other woman was. Unfortunately that changed things for me a bit.
Emily falls for Adam. But someone does not want them to be together. Truthfully I did not care for most of the characters. Adam and his mom were horrible.
The end of this book was everything for me. It was definitely a solid 4.5 stars. I love a good reveal. I am obsessed with shocking twists. And I did not see the ending coming at all.

Spoilers ahead!
I liked the beginning of this book. But as things slowly unfolded (most of the "action" is in the final chapters) Emily developed a severe case of stupidity. Her boyfriend's mother is out to get her! Really out to get her! Ok, that could have been interesting. The problem is the boyfriend. Adam is pretty much awful from Emily from about 20% of the book in and I had no idea why she stayed with him. I think the author was attempting to show that Emily stayed with Adam because of his mother--refusing to be cowed by her--but Adam is so insufferable that it becomes who is worse? Adam, or his mother? Throw in a subplot with Adam's brother, James, that goes nowhere, and the endless wait to see that yes, Adam is horrible and his mother was only trying! to! save! Emily! and you get, at least for me, a raging case of This Is Not A Plot Twist That Saves This Book.
Tldr: Only for those who can handle a heroine who enjoys suffering because she's apparently doing it for no reason I can understand.

Thank you to net gallery for enabling me to read this book. This is a twisty edgy thriller that will keep you guessing. Brilliant psychological thriller. Can't recommend enough. Could even relate to it at the beginning

The Other Woman- Emily has finally found her match with new boyfriend Adam Banks. Things are moving fast but sometimes you just know when something is right. When Emily meets Pammie, Adam’s devoted and overly involved Mother, their perfect relationship starts to show some cracks. Can Emily withstand the not so subtle sabotage of Pammie while she and Adam try to build a life together? ——
Sometimes I wanted to yell at Emily for being naive & spineless and other times I wanted to cheer for Emily for being ballsy. It seemed like a lot of drama and effort to become a Banks without a lot of payoff. Pammie is a formidable foe and a mother in law from hell. While it had some twists and turns, I wouldn’t call it a suspense thriller but more of a domestic drama. It’s a good book and worth a read but I wouldn’t push to the top of your tbr list. There were some parts I thought were unbelievable and contrived but overall I enjoyed this debut. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Thank you @netgalley @stmartinspress @minotaur_books for the Advance Copy Reader in exchange for an honest review. This book goes on sale August 22, 2018.

This one kept me up until way past my bedtime! "The Other Woman" is a gripping psychological thriller about the dreaded MIL... pretty much any girl's worst nightmare.
When Emily met Adam, she was swept off her feet immediately. Adam is everything Emily ever dreamed of-- handsome, successful, sexy, charming. Their whirlwind romance moves at lightning speed and seems like a fairytale until... Emily meets Adam's mother Pammie.
Pammie is endlessly devoted to her son and will stop at nothing to ensure his happiness. Just how far WILL she go? How far is too far? Emily finds herself in a battle of the wills with Adam's Mommy Dearest as their wedding quickly approaches and spirals out as Pammie's machinations grow more and more diabolical.
I couldn't believe this was Sandie Jones' debut novel! I totally enjoyed it and found myself practically howling in frustration at Pammie's tricks, Adam's total blindness to his crazy mom, and often times Emily's reactions to Pammie's schemes. Not gonna lie-- as a single gal, this one SCARED me in a cautionary tale sort of way, ha! The writing was fantastic and the ending... let me just say, I didn't see it coming! This one's a great summer read that you wont' want to put down. Definitely one of my favorite recent reads!

3.5 stars. This didn't wow me in the end, but it was a fun and engrossing story that sucked me right in. Emily meets the man of her dreams, Adam...but then she meets his mother, who is completely horrible to her and gaslights her in nearly every interaction they have. Adam had some red flags of his own, of course, but Emily is able to ignore them because of her desire to have the picture perfect life with him (not to mention the best sex she's ever had). As the story hurtles through Emily and Adam's relationship, the web grows even more tangled, and Emily's relationship with Adam's mother grows more and more. I recommend this you enjoy thrillers.

I received an arc copy of this book from Net Galley in exchange for my honest opinion of it. I started reading this book previously but really had a hard time getting into it. I decided to give the book another chance and I am so glad that I did. This book is absolutely wonderful! I really could not put it down. It reminded me so much of a movie that I loved many years ago about a young bride who had a mother in law who wanted to destroy her. I highly recommend this book.

Read this book now. Good charecter depth and the writing just flows. I love books where you think you have it figured out but you don't. Keeps you wanting to turn the pages. Thanks to NetGalley, the author and the publisher for the ARC of this book. Although I received the book in this manner, it did not affect my opinion of this book nor my review.
