Emily meets Adam. He's a dream, and they are immediately caught up in their love for one another. Then, Emily meets Adam's mother, Pammie. At first, things seem normal, though Adam and his mother are very close and protective of each other. As Emily and Adam's relationship continues, Pammie becomes more and more hellbent on ending things between them.

A woman in love. A controlling mother. An oblivious son. These characters were so well-developed, and the unraveling of events perfectly paced. Emily is a little too naive and compliant. Pammie is the master of the backhanded compliment, and a great character you will love to hate. A compelling combination for a slow burning psychological thriller.

A wonderful debut novel, and I look forward to reading more by Sandie Jones. Great for fans of domestic thrillers. Clever, disturbing, and highly entertaining.

I received a free eARC of this book from the publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

This book was very entertaining from start to finish. I thought I had it figured it out but the author put a nice little twist in at the end that todallly made the book, and made me want to immediately reread it. I loved this thriller and will definitely recommend it to friends!

This book took me completely by surprise. The way it started made you think this was just another soon to be mother-in-law that hated her soon to be daughter-in-law. Oh, but it was so much more then that. Then you throw in the groom's brother, ex-girlfriend, and several other people in the plot line and you really can not figure out what is going on. By the time you actually figure out what is going on you are sitting there thinking how much more is this woman gonna take from this family. Then when the "proverbial shit hits the fan" you are sitting there with your jaw on the ground not even expecting what happened to have happened.

That being said you need to read this book. The characters, the plot line, and the twists and turns it does makes for it to be a very interesting read. I highly recommend it.

This novel involving a dismissive, judgmental and overbearing ‘mother-in-law-to-be’ is quite a compelling story. Yes, I had to suspend belief numerous times. I repeatedly wondered why anyone would put up with this toxic woman and her ‘mama’s boy’ son who had a disconcerting mean streak and not just walk away. Yet, it was a great roller coaster ride! I couldn’t wait to see how it would end.

I thought this was going to be the predictable I hate my mother in law tale - but it was different.... so, so different. I literally did not put it down for an entire day. Cooking? Popped those mini corn dogs in the toaster oven with one hand while chugging through the book on my Kindle. Getting ready for bed? Popped out the contacts and brushed the teeth with the Kindle propped up over the faucet so I could finish the book before bed.

I did not give this book the respect it deserved at first. Oh, its a M-I-L book - just like so and so. Oh - that plot point is just that other book I just read. That aspect? I will proudly admit that I was wrong, wrong, wrong about this book. It was NOTHING like anything else I've read this year and I could not get enough!

What an exciting and psychological thriller ride of a book! Every page had me thinking I had the characters nailed down, their actions known and was I ever wrong! An incredibly addictive book that will definitely challenge your perceived outcomes and provide the reader with a non-stop action filled read. I absolutely loved this book and will probably read it again and again! Thank you for the opportunity to have read this book prior to publication--what an emotional rollercoaster that I jut loved!

When Emily meets Adam she hit the jackpot. He was handsome, intelligent, smart and a little mysterious. Her life became perfect she has everything she ever wanted. Then she met his mother Pammie and her world was turned upside down. To everyone else, Pammie seemed the perfect woman. To Emily, she was the total opposite. This is where the book takes a dark turn. Pammie will stop at nothing to destroy this relationship. I was a scared reading it. This being the debut thriller of Sandie Jones is remarkable. There are so many twists and turns that you are pumped up till the very end. You feel like your having the same emotions as Emily. Truly I was drained when I finished it. I can't say enough good things get this book as soon as you can you won't regret it.

Emily Havistock was content with her small world that included her roommate and friend, Pippa, and Seb, her best friend. After a breakup with the man, who she hoped to marry, which also ruined a long friendship, after finding the two in a compromising position, she was not looking for a relationship, While on a business meeting, Emily met Adam Banks. They began to spend a lot of time together, and begin planning a future.

Adam took Emily to meet his mom, Pammie. The first time, Pammie left an album open to a particular photo knowing Emily would see it. Emily wasn't quite sure if it was accidental or on purpose. A photo that was haunting in more ways than one. Over time, there would be other hurtful actions by Pammie, but it was done in a covert manner that flew under everyone else's radar. A discovery by Emily, makes her wonder the lengths Pammie will go to with her. While Pammie plotted, Emily started to plot how to show Pammie's true colors, which starts a battle of wills.

I thought this was a unique story, that had an unexpected twist in the end. A great story, that I highly recommend. I received an ARC from NetGalley via St. Martin's Press in exchange for an honest review.

WOW !!! . Sandie Jones has done an amazing job of keeping the reader guessing. Right from the start when we find out who the “Other Woman” actually is, all the way to the unexpected ending. The characters are engaging and the storyline is well developed. “The Other Woman” pleasantly surpassed my expectations and I found this quite an enjoyable book. Great book to add to your summer reading list!

The perfect "Monster-In-Law" thriller novel. This book got me hooked until the very end (that I truly did NOT see coming!). I couldn't help but feel so bad for Emily and see how mean and manipulating her mother-in-law was to her. This can be a really good movie. Nicely written and I can't wait for more from this author.

I'd like to thank Netgalley, St. Martin's Press and Sandie Jones for allowing me to have this ARC of The Other Woman.

The Other Woman is a riveting thriller that was ominous from the beginning! I couldn't put the book down. The story line evoked some strong emotions and I had a feeling what was happening before the ending, but it was a great twist nonetheless.

**Spoilers**
Emily feels like she has finally met the man of her dreams. She's on top of the world until Adam takes her to meet his mother, Pammie. Emily tries being the perfect girlfriend and win Pammie's approval. In the end, nothing seems to work and only makes Pammie's actions worse. Pammie is very careful not to make it apparent when other people are around.

Emily tries to tell Adam, who looks at her like she's crazy. Then there's Adam's proposal to Emily which leaves his mother fainting and draws all the attention to her. She even manages to get Adam to call off his wedding to Emily with some crushing news. Adam's brother James starts trying to come onto Emily, which leaves her feeling so confused. Soon Adam's persona begins to crack and Emily feels that the whole Banks family must be crazy.

Emily then finds out she's pregnant and the story begins to spiral into the twisting and wrenching finale.

Emily's descent into depression, anxiety and anger is very raw and believable. I felt these raw emotions right with her as I read. Definitely a great read and a well written psychological thriller!

Wow! Wow! Wow! This book was absolutely amazing! I also listened to an audio version of this book. I have never been an audiobook fan. They just didn't keep my attention...I'd find my mind wandering and then I would have to rewind it and catch up with what I'd missed. That was not the case with The Other Woman! And I'm not sure if it was the book itself, the narrator and/or the book, or the fact that my brain has suddenly decided it likes audiobooks and this was a great one with which to learn that.

I don't want to have any spoilers, so this will be hard review to write. But in exclaiming how excellent the book was, it's an easy one to write. So here it goes...

You are grabbed from the very first word on the first page and you assume you know what's going to happen. You might not know whose thoughts are being expressed, but it's not going to be good for the person in the wedding dress. And then you find out it's the boyfriend/fiancé's mother. What an evil, wicked, manipulative, conniving, passive/aggressive human being. What lengths she goes to in order to get what she wants is appalling. You will simply sit there with your mouth hanging open thinking, "That God my mother-in-law isn't/wasn't like that!"

And then is it all her fault? Or are there some crazy, paranoid individuals who see things that aren't really there? Just as you think that's the case, you are in for another twist!

Unbelievable interactions and situations are jumping out at you from one page to the next. You can't wait to turn the page to discover the next episode in this intriguing saga. Just make sure you're sitting down and holding on tight to your seat as you will be blown away!

That's all I'm going to say or I'll give away too much and I don't want to spoil the surprise ending for you.

This author does a fabulous job of developing the story and the characters. You feel that you know them really well and are absolutely positive you know what they will do next. I can't believe this is a debut novel. And I can promise you, I will read anything else Sandie Jones writes. The book is that good! I simply did not want to get out of the car while I was listening to it or stop turning the pages for the ebook version. I would just there in the heat and be carried away with the story.

This is definitely a put on your TBR list...or better yet, rush out and buy it now! You won't regret it.

Thank you to NetGalley for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Wow! That was some book! I loved the twists at the end. Some reviewers said they saw it coming, well I for one did not. I was so hating on Pammie, as well as Adam. I kept texting my poor sister about it. I know that sounds crazy, but I love to talk about a great book while reading it, and this was a great one! Im so glad I was lucky enough to get this book early through Netgalley!

A roller coaster of a book! Just when I thought I had it all figured out - I didn’t!!! Very fun read! There were definitely times when he author could have used the “less is more” approach but still kept me riveted! Additionally, secondary character development may have helped to tie the story together a little neater!
Would still recommend to friends!

3.5 stars for The Other Woman. I finished this book a few days ago, but haven’t gotten around to writing my review. I honestly didn’t know how I wanted to rate this or what I wanted to say about it. There are things that I struggled with, but if I tell you what they are, I will give everything away. And like other reviewers mentioned, this book is best read if you know nothing about it.

So, let’s start with the fact that I ripped through this book. It is a fast, addicting read and it is a book to be devoured. I was hooked from the very beginning and knew that I wouldn’t stop until I finished. This book reminded me Michelle Francis’s The Girlfriend, only in the way that it is the same triangle (mother, son & girlfriend).

Now, I have read a lot of psychological thrillers, so I kind of had this one figured out. Not all of it, but you know the saying “something stinks in suburbia”? Well, I knew that something wasn’t jiving and I had an inkling why. And this is where the things that I struggled with happened. But in order for me to voice my issues, I will ruin the whole reading experience. So I will just leave it with the fact that things didn’t fully sit well with me. I would be more than happy to discuss this in a private chat if you are so inclined.

All of this is why I waffled so much on my rating. I read this book so fast and the writing was so good. I was hooked and I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend it to all psychological thriller fans. Ultimately, I decided 3.5 stars was just about right due to that I had some issues with the book and had started to figure it out.

I highly recommend putting this on your reading list. This book is going to be a hit.

Emily can't believe her luck when she starts dating Adam. He's smart, handsome, charming, and successful -- everything a girl could ever want. So she's beyond excited when he invites her to meet his family, especially since they mean so much to him. But then Emily realizes that this seemingly perfect family is anything but, and the matriarch "Pammie" seems out to get her in the worst way. From lying to her son about something Emily didn't say to sending barbs Emily's way about everything from Emily's weight to Adam's possible lack of fidelity, Pammie shows a ruthless determination to drive a wedge between the lovebirds. When Pammie announces she has breast cancer on the eve of Adam and Emily's wedding, Emily can't believe no one else sees Pammie's conniving ways. Adam refuses to hear any complaints Emily has and always takes his mother's side. It's time for Emily to prove how evil Pammie truly is, even if it kills her.

Thoughts: Wow. I had knots in my stomach the entire time I read The Other Woman, and for good reason. Jones really knows how to take a bad situation and keep making worse and worse until you can't even stand it anymore. Just when you think the future mother-in-law from hell couldn't get any worse, Sandie Jones proves readers wrong and tosses in surprise after horrible surprise. I've never wanted to physically yell at a book character until now. I'll admit, I considered stopping about halfway through because Pammie was so awful and I was so mad at Emily for refusing to just walk away from Adam and call it quits, but I am so glad I stuck with it. Just wait for the ending -- the last chapter is SO worth it! Just when you think it can't get any worse...

Sandie Jones rings every bell with her debut novel!

An idyllic man-turned-wolf was surprising enough, but when his mother was revealed--predator turned prey and pages kept turning well into the wee hours of the morning...

This book has everything I love in a good thriller: a likable protagonist, a great plot, strong prose, and a very scary mother-in-law.

And then everything changes!

I'm looking forward to this author's next book!
