Wow! That was some book! I loved the twists at the end. Some reviewers said they saw it coming, well I for one did not. I was so hating on Pammie, as well as Adam. I kept texting my poor sister about it. I know that sounds crazy, but I love to talk about a great book while reading it, and this was a great one! Im so glad I was lucky enough to get this book early through Netgalley!

A roller coaster of a book! Just when I thought I had it all figured out - I didn’t!!! Very fun read! There were definitely times when he author could have used the “less is more” approach but still kept me riveted! Additionally, secondary character development may have helped to tie the story together a little neater!
Would still recommend to friends!

3.5 stars for The Other Woman. I finished this book a few days ago, but haven’t gotten around to writing my review. I honestly didn’t know how I wanted to rate this or what I wanted to say about it. There are things that I struggled with, but if I tell you what they are, I will give everything away. And like other reviewers mentioned, this book is best read if you know nothing about it.
So, let’s start with the fact that I ripped through this book. It is a fast, addicting read and it is a book to be devoured. I was hooked from the very beginning and knew that I wouldn’t stop until I finished. This book reminded me Michelle Francis’s The Girlfriend, only in the way that it is the same triangle (mother, son & girlfriend).
Now, I have read a lot of psychological thrillers, so I kind of had this one figured out. Not all of it, but you know the saying “something stinks in suburbia”? Well, I knew that something wasn’t jiving and I had an inkling why. And this is where the things that I struggled with happened. But in order for me to voice my issues, I will ruin the whole reading experience. So I will just leave it with the fact that things didn’t fully sit well with me. I would be more than happy to discuss this in a private chat if you are so inclined.
All of this is why I waffled so much on my rating. I read this book so fast and the writing was so good. I was hooked and I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend it to all psychological thriller fans. Ultimately, I decided 3.5 stars was just about right due to that I had some issues with the book and had started to figure it out.
I highly recommend putting this on your reading list. This book is going to be a hit.

Emily can't believe her luck when she starts dating Adam. He's smart, handsome, charming, and successful -- everything a girl could ever want. So she's beyond excited when he invites her to meet his family, especially since they mean so much to him. But then Emily realizes that this seemingly perfect family is anything but, and the matriarch "Pammie" seems out to get her in the worst way. From lying to her son about something Emily didn't say to sending barbs Emily's way about everything from Emily's weight to Adam's possible lack of fidelity, Pammie shows a ruthless determination to drive a wedge between the lovebirds. When Pammie announces she has breast cancer on the eve of Adam and Emily's wedding, Emily can't believe no one else sees Pammie's conniving ways. Adam refuses to hear any complaints Emily has and always takes his mother's side. It's time for Emily to prove how evil Pammie truly is, even if it kills her.
Thoughts: Wow. I had knots in my stomach the entire time I read The Other Woman, and for good reason. Jones really knows how to take a bad situation and keep making worse and worse until you can't even stand it anymore. Just when you think the future mother-in-law from hell couldn't get any worse, Sandie Jones proves readers wrong and tosses in surprise after horrible surprise. I've never wanted to physically yell at a book character until now. I'll admit, I considered stopping about halfway through because Pammie was so awful and I was so mad at Emily for refusing to just walk away from Adam and call it quits, but I am so glad I stuck with it. Just wait for the ending -- the last chapter is SO worth it! Just when you think it can't get any worse...

Sandie Jones rings every bell with her debut novel!
An idyllic man-turned-wolf was surprising enough, but when his mother was revealed--predator turned prey and pages kept turning well into the wee hours of the morning...
This book has everything I love in a good thriller: a likable protagonist, a great plot, strong prose, and a very scary mother-in-law.
And then everything changes!
I'm looking forward to this author's next book!

Emily is content living the independent life until she meets and falls in love with Adam. He's kind, considerate, and is equally in love with her. Adam speaks so highly of his mother and seems so protective of her, that Emily is thrilled when he finally introduces them. Until...she gets to know Pammie, the evil future mother-in-law. Pammie seems to have Adam's best interests at heart and Emily tries to give his mother the benefit of doubt and not complain about her behavior. James, Adam's handsome brother, becomes her ally in the family's dynamics and Emily begins to feel drawn to James when Adam doesn't see how manipulative his mother is to all of them. Pammie seems determined to sabotage the wedding, even taking it upon herself to invite Emily's former best friend to the bachelorette activities despite hard feelings between them.
Considering that it is Jones' debut novel, the plot is filled with suspense, conflicts, and enough twists and turns to keep me guessing. Readers of psychological thrillers will enjoy her convoluted plot.
Fans of The Girl in Cabin 10, B.A. Paris, and Mary Kubica will enjoy this novel. I look forward to more from Jones and hopes that she develops as an author in the psychological thriller genre.

I keep waffling between 4 and 5 stars so I'm giving 4.5. This was such a fantastic read. After reading the blurb I knew I had to read this book. The story is so well thought out and well written. And TOTALLY creepy. I enjoyed every moment reading this story. I'm not giving it away here..... Except that there are so many warning signs for the main character that she should just go into hiding. I cringed when she made the wrong decisions. I just kept screaming (in my head) please please please run away! This is perfect for fans of thrillers, psychological thrillers especially. The creep factor and the not knowing made this book a great read and one of my favorites of 2018!
received an advanced copy

I thoroughly enjoyed this book until the very end when I feel as though it completely went flat. The entire book was a real pager turner and I both didn't want it to end but also couldn't wait to find out how it would end until I actually got there. The ending just didn't make any sense to me and I found myself going back to different parts of the story to see if it fit with the conclusion and it just never matched for me. Unfortunately that fact has let me leaving this page turning story with a mediocre review and rating. Sorry!

Wow. The last 5% of the book I could not close my mouth...a small part of me guessed how it would end but I didn't believe it. Amazing how you could hate a character so much and in 3 paragraphs it changes. A great summer read that will keep you on the beach into the night trying to finish.

Wow, anyone who thinks they have a horrible mother-in-law should read this book. Emily has met her perfect match, Adam. But when she meets her soon to be mother-in-law, Pammie, Emily never could never have imagined how bad things will get. The ending will surprise readers. Highly recommended!

Characters were well developed. The plot was intriguing. Loved the descriptiveness of the book. I would like to read more from this author

Emily and Adam meet and fall in love. All of their friends and family are excited for their new relationship except for one person, Adam's mom. On the surface, Pammie appears lovely but deep inside, she's possessive of her son and will do anything to keep Adam from marrying Emily. It was a slow read because with every page, I kept screaming to Emily "break up already!" Adam is completely oblivious to his mother's ways and only thinks Emily is being paranoid. I was rewarded for my patience because it picked up in the second half and I was flabbergasted by the ending! Maybe it was obvious but I did not see it coming and I thought it was well-done. Definitely worth a read!

The Other Woman by debut novelist Sandie Jones is an AMAZING. Twisted. Can't put it down, don't want it to ever end book. Run to your local bookstore or preorder this psychological thriller which will have you thinking about it days after you have finished reading.
The book begins with your typical girl meeting boy (Emily and Adam), falling in love and meeting boys mother, (Pammie) who it seems is Satan in a dress. Adam appears to be Pammie's favorite child and will do anything and everything in her power to stop their relationship. Emily does not understand Pammie's hate for her which she begins to realize during her first meeting with Pammie. Adam, and her other son James on Christmas day. Tension builds as Adam does not appreciate Emily's unkindness towards his mother while Pammie increases her torture of Emily.
This is a true page turner with an I did not see that coming ending.
This book should be made into a movie!
The Other Woman comes out August 21.

When Emily meets Adam its instant chemistry and she is sure he is the one. Soon they are living together and then become engaged. All before she meets his mother. Pammie.
There are so many things I could say about all of them but honestly I think you should just read it and come to your own conclusions. Don't assume you know anything! Because I'm quite sure you don't. Every one in this book is shady. No one is what or who they seem to be and that ending. What the heck??
I absolutely loved this twist. A most unusual one as I was ready to draw and quarter the person I thought was the evil one! Then, Boom. Nope.
Great job and I highly recommend this one!

Recieved this book early for my honest review.
Such an intriguing story that kept me on the edge of my seat. I felt connected to Emily throughout the story and although the ending wasn't what I imagined it was perfect in every way. Pick up this book when you have the chance!

Very entertaining story of a possessive mother in law. A mama's boy can do no wrong in her eyes but how far will she go to keep another female from getting in the way? It was a quick read, a fun ride and a couple of twists here and there to keep you wondering.

An engaging thriller and perfect poolside read, The Other Woman by Sandie Jones capitalises on the rivalry between women and their mothers-in-law, or perhaps I should say between Mothers and their daughters- in -law. Jones cleverly and capably rides that very fine line, creating a book which will happily pull the rug out from under your feet if you let it. While most of the book would have you firmly in the corner of Emily, who believes her mother in law to be is determined to split up her relationship, every so often Jones twists events so that it seems that Emily may be reading into things a little too much. Lots of drama keeps the book moving at a brisk pace, but unfortunately I do have to confess that the ending did not surprise me as much as I think the author intended it to.
A fun piece of summer escapism.
I read and reviewed an ARC courtesy of NetGalley and the publisher , all opinions are entirely my own

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for an advanced copy of The Other Woman.
This book had a very slow start for me, at times it took all I could do to pick it up to read it. There were moments where I wanted to just give up and quit...Emily started off as a strong independent woman but once Adam came into the picture she was almost pathetic! I wanted to smack her for not telling Adam what Pammie, his mother, was doing from the beginning and also for even dealing with with Adams bullshit. You could see the beginnings of abuse. with him. I was completely shocked and surprised with the ending! And in fact am glad that she didn't fill Adam in on his mother's behavior! I have to say that even though this was a slow start, I am happy that I gathered the courage to finish The Other Woman. The ending made it worth it.

For most of this novel, I thought of it as being a solid, stress-inducing book—in a good way. I like books that have a twist, unfortunately, the twist at the end of this one didn’t ring true to me.
I liked Emily, and disliked Pammie so much, that I found this to be an absolute page turner, hoping that somehow things would work out for Emily.
Emily meets handsome Adam at a bar during a conference. Sparks fly, and though they’ve only been dating a short time, when you know, you know. Right? Until he introduces her to his mother Pammie, who, very subtly, tries to destroy Emily’s relationship with her son. Adam thinks that Emily is being petty. He doesn’t see the secret machinations of his mother.

I was instantly hooked on this book as soon as I read it and I couldn't read the pages fast enough!
Emily meets a handsome man named Adam unexpectedly in a bar and sparks fly. Before she knows it, they are moving in together and she has fallen madly in love - what could possibly go wrong? His mother Pammie.
Pammie's life revolves around her sons, and on the outside, she is a generous, kindhearted woman who couldn't possibly hurt a fly. When a new woman enters the picture and becomes engaged to her son, and in the process threatens her bond with Adam, she couldn't wait to take matters into her own hands.
When Emily meets her mother in law for the first time, she could see just how much Pammie loved and doted on her son, and how Adam would bend over backwards for her. When things start to get a little weird, Emily spirals into paranoia, anger, and resentment. How far is Emily willing to go to take charge of her relationship and show Pammie's true colours?
The power struggle was so intense throughout this book and I couldn't believe the horrible things Pammie was prepared to do to get Emily out of her and her son's life. Talk about suspense!
The ending was absolutely fantastic and I couldn't wait to read the next page to see what happened next. I haven't been this pulled into a book in a really long time and I am so happy that I was given the opportunity to read it! Fantastic!
Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!
