4.5 Wildly Disturbing Stars!
The Other Woman had me hooked right from the beginning. It's crazy, disturbing, twisted, and outrageously addictive - a definite page-turner for me.
Emily and Adam start dating and appear to be madly "in love". Then enters the other woman, Pammie, Adam's mother. How far will Pammie go to get Emily out of Adam's life? Emily will soon find out! This is the type of book that if I say too much I will give it all away... in my opinion, it's better to read it with an open mind.
Kudos to Sandie Jones for introducing us to some wild and crazy characters - the kind that made me want to pull my hair out at times. Also, there were times I wanted to shout out, "what were you thinking", and maybe just add a facepalm moment just to put some sense back into them. When I have those emotions I definitely know I'm reading a well-written book! So get ready and buckle up for a crazy and twisted ride of your life! Highly recommend.
Many thanks to NetGalley and Minotaur Books for providing me with an ARC.

Expected Publication: August 21st!
Holy cow, was this book good!
First, let me just say how much this book made me appreciate my husband and all of the incredible things he does for me, how he treats me, and what a gentleman he is. Second, props to my mother-in-law for being incredible, accepting me into her family as her own, and not being a total crazy psycho. Segway into this book.... what a crazy psycho!
Emily loves Adam. Adam loves Emily. Adam loves Pammie, his mommy dearest, who doesn't love Emily so much. Drama ensues.
I have not hated a character (or two or three) so much in a really long time. The fact that I hated them so much is a testament to how well they were written by Sandie Jones. I wanted to punch Pammie in the face most of the time, smack Adam across the face, and tell Emily to grow a pair and tell them both to eat dog shit.
As I consider myself a fairly independent woman (yes, I have a husband and I love him dearly but a gal has to stand on her own two feet as well, am I right?) I could not stand Emily's reaction to Adam's ridiculous behavior. I wanted her to whip out her Beyonce attitude and tell him to fly a kite on multiple occasions. It drove me nuts how submissive she was. But I appreciated that her character was written so masterfully that I found myself getting worked up about her utter stupidity.
While the story along the way was engrossing and kept me reading to see what would happen next, the ending was totally unexpected and made me love the book even more.
Funny enough, the cover contains a quote from Greer Hendricks, author of The Wife Between Us, which happens to be the book I would compare The Other Woman to (yes, I'm ending my sentence with a preposition... judge me). I adored The Wife Between Us and adored this book just as much. Would highly recommend for anybody looking for something "un-put-downable."

Crazy, page turner like no other. Totally unbelieveable.. I wasn't so sure about it in the beginning but discovered I couldn't put it down after that.

Wow! I read this book in less than a day! So well written that I was feeling so angry & frustrated with Pammie, as if everything was happening to me. I could not figure out where the story was going, but it sure ended well. Highly recommend!

Thanks to NetGalley and St. Martins Press for an ARC of The Other Woman. I wanted to like this book and my desire to see how it ends is what motivated me to finish it. However, the main character is so incredibly weak, I kept wishing she would grow some backbone in regards to her interactions with the other characters. I can't say I found the ending to be feasible and I had a lot of unanswered questions. Sorry, not one of my favorite reads!

The Other Woman was a bit of a tough read for me. I thought it dragged and I didn't care for the characters much at all.
Adam was more than a bit of a jerk, trampling all over Emily and Emily just allowed it. She rarely stood up for herself and I kept thinking what is wrong with you? Say something!
Pammie I didn't love either, but it became clear later on.
I'm not sure that I'd recommend this book, but there are a fair number of 5 star reviews, so obviously it's a good book for those folks. Check it out for yourself and see.
Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

I gave this rating because the book is well written and is a good story. I think there was so much hype about a twist ending. It tells you on the cover that there is a twist ending. I was disappointed because you knew it was not what you expected. Sometimes less is better.
Emily meets Adam a a bar and they hit is off. However, Adams family gets in there way of happiness time and time again. You don't think that there relationship will last but it keeps going until the very end.
I recommend reading this book, the authour did a nice job yelling the story. Sometimes the story jumps around so it will take a minute to figure out what has happened but it gets back on track and explains thing fairly quickly.

I initially was extremely excited for this book. The plot really interested me and I couldn't wait to dive in. The dynamic of a girl and her boyfriends mother going at it sounded funny/ominous. For most of the book, I couldn't understand why Em would stay with her boyfriend if the mother was that terrible. I didn't really see any of those "loving" qualities in him that could make me understand why should would put up with the crazy mother. I DID totally get the need to want to "win" in this situation, especially when the rude behavior was extremely unwarranted. Each chapter kept me wanting and guessing more about how things would end. I was very happy with the ending and really enjoyed this book. It kept me interested at every turn, and the only critique I had was the fact that Adam didn't really seem like someone to fight for.

Talk about a spooky mother-in-law! A very intense story that I couldn't put down. If you're looking for a 'not ordinary' romance book, this is it.

THE OTHER WOMAN BY SANDIE JONES BOOK REVIEW
This is the exact type of book I need when I am chilling at the pool. The Other Woman by Sandie Jones is steamy, fast-paced & thrilling & I loved it!
MEET PAMMIE
Emily is living her life with glasses of wine, quiet nights at home & work. Then she meets Adam & falls down a rabbit hole of love. Things are going well, so she meets his mother, Pamela.
Oh, Pammie. She’s a nasty bitch. We’ve all come across those people who smile while cutting you down & Pammie is the Queen! She pulls some crazy stunts & I ate it up with a spoon. What can I say, I love drama! And this is fun, crazy drama!
SOMETHING IS UP WITH PAMMIE
Pammie is golden in Adam’s eyes, so Emily has to tread lightly. Pammie constantly spins all conversations in her favor & it’s obvious to me she’s got some sort of secret hidden. Like, what happened with Adam’s ex-girlfriend? What’s the deal with Adam’s brother? Why does Adam have to rush to his mother’s side at any moment? Is he really a doting son or does Pammie hold something over him? These are all the questions running through my head!
THE VERDICT
I am Really Into This book! The Other Woman is the first book from Sandie Jones & I need more of her writing in my life. Summer was made for books like The Other Woman. Grab this book, a beach towel & a pina colada & you’re bound to have fun!
Special thanks to Sandie Jones, Minotaur Books & NetGalley for providing our free copy in exchange for an honest & fair review.

When Emily meets Adam, she never expects to hear from him again but then he calls. He's tall, dark, handsome and successful and wants to see her again. They soon become inseparable and it's time to meet the parents. Or, in Adam's case, the mother (his father has passed away). Almost immediately upon meeting Adam's mother, Pammie, Emily feels wrong footed. A photo album has been placed surreptitiously on the coffee table, and pictures of Adam's ex, Jennifer, are dispersed throughout. As their relationship gets more serious, Pammie's attempts to interfere become more overt, although Adam remains oblivious. In order to save their relationship, and prove that his mother is trying to come between them, Emily only succeeds in gaining Adam's contempt and starts to wonder about her own sanity.

Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the advanced copy in exchange for my review.
This book is about complicated relationships which features Pammie the mother in law and Emily the future daughter in law and girlfriend of Adam the son. This is a well written story which starts off as an almost "chick lit" to a full blown psychological thriller. This book was well written with very good character development This book kept me reading into the night and it was a fantastic read . I urge you to read this book you will not be disappointed.

This book is not what you think. I thought I had it all figured out and then everything changed!
Merging families is always tough, but this story took it ten steps further. A great reminder that people are not always who they seem to be. Fantastic writing that kept me interested, even when I thought it was predictable. The characters were well developed and had a depth that many other stories lack. I was invested until the very end.

Good characters with a seemingly mundane story. Good twist that makes the pace worth the read. You should always get to know family before getting married . . .

Very interesting thriller. Surprised me several times through out the story. Can’t wait to read more from this author. Netgalley made it able to enjoy this page turner. Loved all the twists and turns. Glad this wasn’t happing in my life 😳

This book - was so flipping good. The characters were very wellwritten The plot was sooooo good. There were so many red. herrings, twists and turns.
At first I thought it was going to be a Lifetime Movie of the week book - but it was so much more.
Nothing is as it seems. Nobody is who they really are. Omg!!!!! Do yourself a favor and read this book. You will not be disappointed. I would like to thank NetGalley, Sandie Jones and the Publisher for the privilege of receiving an ARC in exchange for a fair and unbiased review.

I felt like this book started a bit slow for me but I kept reading thankfully! The characters were great and I found myself loving and hating them. Just when I thought I had it all figured out another twist was thrown at me. It was a very enjoyble book. I'll be sure to watch for more from this author.

The Other Woman by Sandie Jones is easily a five-star crazy intense psycho-thriller and an absolute page-turner. This one of those books that on a rainy day pull it off the shelf curl up and just devour. What happens when Emily & Adam met and fall in love? Well, everything is going great until Emily meets Adam’s mom Pammie and that’s when everything goes wrong! Pammie is straight up having NONE of this relationship and is doing everything within her power to sabotage their budding relationship. I don’t want to give anything away other than, the ending you won’t see coming & you can definitely eat this gem up in a day. I look forward to devouring future works from Ms. Jones. I received an advance copy thanks to NetGalley & Ms. Jones in exchange for an honest review

For the most part, I like the book, however areas in it were slow and seemed more like fluff. With that being said, it was an interesting read that I would recommend to friends who are looking for a different genre to try.

Do you ever find yourself desperately wanting to reach through the pages of a book and throttle a character? Shake them and yell, "Wake the hell up!!" That pretty much sums up how I felt through the entire reading of The Other Woman.
Emily meets a man, Adam, and falls in love. She thinks he's perfect, despite his conniving mother who wants Emily out of the way.
There were many, many signs from the beginning that Emily just didn't "see". This made the story a bit unbelievable for me. A woman so blinded by her perception of love that she misses the big flashing warning signs telling her to run away and never look back. Maybe I've forgotten what that sort of new love feels like, maybe I'm too "old" to connect with that way of thinking. Regardless, I just wanted to smack this character.
Often I don't look at reviews before I read a book, however I did this time. Several people shouted from the rooftops that this book radiated LifeTime Movie beams of light. And I couldn't agree more. I loathe lifetime movies but have sat through many with my nana. She tents to forget what the plot is half way through. So, for her, the ending is always a surprise and the wow factor is there making her gasp with each new revelation. For me, I roll my eyes and mutter, "I knew it...". The joke is...I could have wrote it. There were no surprises in the ending of The Other Woman. No wow factor, no gasps of surprise.
I can say that the book moved quickly and was easy to read. Sandie Jones writing is clean and easy to navigate. The story flowed smoothly and I can't ask for much more than that as far as writing goes. For that reason, I'm giving it three stars because hey, someone may be shocked at the ending. It just wasn't me.
Thank you to Minotaur books and netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
