For the most part, I like the book, however areas in it were slow and seemed more like fluff. With that being said, it was an interesting read that I would recommend to friends who are looking for a different genre to try.

Do you ever find yourself desperately wanting to reach through the pages of a book and throttle a character? Shake them and yell, "Wake the hell up!!" That pretty much sums up how I felt through the entire reading of The Other Woman.
Emily meets a man, Adam, and falls in love. She thinks he's perfect, despite his conniving mother who wants Emily out of the way.
There were many, many signs from the beginning that Emily just didn't "see". This made the story a bit unbelievable for me. A woman so blinded by her perception of love that she misses the big flashing warning signs telling her to run away and never look back. Maybe I've forgotten what that sort of new love feels like, maybe I'm too "old" to connect with that way of thinking. Regardless, I just wanted to smack this character.
Often I don't look at reviews before I read a book, however I did this time. Several people shouted from the rooftops that this book radiated LifeTime Movie beams of light. And I couldn't agree more. I loathe lifetime movies but have sat through many with my nana. She tents to forget what the plot is half way through. So, for her, the ending is always a surprise and the wow factor is there making her gasp with each new revelation. For me, I roll my eyes and mutter, "I knew it...". The joke is...I could have wrote it. There were no surprises in the ending of The Other Woman. No wow factor, no gasps of surprise.
I can say that the book moved quickly and was easy to read. Sandie Jones writing is clean and easy to navigate. The story flowed smoothly and I can't ask for much more than that as far as writing goes. For that reason, I'm giving it three stars because hey, someone may be shocked at the ending. It just wasn't me.
Thank you to Minotaur books and netgalley for providing me a copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Thank you NetGalley for an ARC of The Other Woman!
This book is very fast paced and I actually liked that about it. None of the chapters were very long and it kept me hooked most of the time. I’m giving it three stars because none of the characters are very likable. Even when everything comes out at the end you just kind of roll your eyes at the whole thing. Everyone was pretty much selfish and petty and communication from the very beginning would have solved everyone’s troubles. Once again a family drama book made to look like a mystery.

The Other Woman is a classic monster-in-law story with a twist. Emily falls head over heels for Adam, but the feelings she has for Adam's mother, Pammie, lean more towards hate than love. Pammie goes out of her way to make Emily's life miserable and keep her out of her precious son's life. This book will keep you up late flipping page after page until the astonishing ending is revealed. This is one you will want to go back and read again to pick up on the clues that you missed. Although this is a common plot, the outcome definitely dishes out the surprise factor.

Twisted and great!! There is nothing a mother would not do for her child, including pinning herself in between her son and his love. Addictive page Turner of a mother doing everything in her power to separate Adam and Emily. It is a book that once you pick it up it is utterly hard to put down.

This thriller will have you guessing…and then guessing again. As Emily falls in love, then fights for her happily-ever-after, she takes on a series of challenges that culminate in her fighting for her life and the life of the love of her life.
When Emily meets Adam, things seem perfect…until she meets his family. His mother Pammie and brother James complicate the relationship between Emily and Adam, but they forge forward, becoming engaged and planning a wedding and a future. But things aren’t as they seem and Pammie puts Emily in some awkward situations. She learns about Adam’s former fiancée and starts questioning what part her future mother-in-law played in how that relationship ended.
You will find yourself turning the pages compulsively as the protagonists lock horns, the climax coming down to a final battle between life and death.
I hope Ms. Jones is hard at work on her next novel because fans will be eagerly awaiting what she gives us next!

It started out slow but for the most part I enjoyed this book. I didn't see the twists and turns which is always a plus. Thank you #NetGalley for the ARC. I look forward to what's next for this author.

Amazing!!! Kept me on the edge of my seat the ENTIRE time!!! 5 Stars!!!!! I always love a story where there is a crazy female role, and goodness if this wasn’t just that!!!

I enjoyed this psychological thriller, but found it to be a bit predictable. The first part of the book read too much like a romance novel for me. Without giving anything away, I would have preferred to have the author start revealing relevant tidbits about the main characters a bit earlier, using more of that time to build suspense. joyed this psychological thrilled, but found it to be a bit predictable. This book was AWESOME! Gripping! Total page turner! Completely unexpected from the title with a GREAT plot twist at the end!!

I received a copy of THE OTHER WOMAN from St. Martin’s Press in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the publisher and author.
Five stars and here's why:
I cried. I laughed. I screamed. And then, I called my mother-in-law just to tell her how much I love and appreciate the woman she truly is!!
THE OTHER WOMAN invite showed up in my inbox. THANK YOU ST. MARTIN’S PRESS and SANDIE JONES. I loved the premise and the book cover rocks. It’s a given when you pick up St. Martin’s Press story, that you’ll be in for wild ride and boy, did the author deliver. So, I lost an entire day glued to this book. Serious book hanger because Sandie Jones pulled me in from the first page.
One second and your life can change forever. Emily and Adam meet in a bar and soon their love blossoms. The only issue: he’s got a mother who’s determined to keep them apart. Things happen that will make your head spin and set your nerves on fire.
Be prepared to lose track of time reading this book. Sandie Jones delivers a gut-punch. It’s been several days and I’m still thinking about the story. Highly recommend!

What a story! This book kept me on the edge of my seat. The characters were so well written. If you want a page turner that will give you anxiety, cause to yell at the characters as your reading and hold your breath as things get intense then this is the book for you! I will definitely recommend this book. I can't wait to read another book from this author

The Other Woman is the sort of book that make you want to reach through the pages and smack some sense into the main character. Emily meets Adam, falls in love, and then has to deal with the other woman in his life...his mother. Pammie is manipulative, mean, and possibly dangerous. I thought Pammie's character was mostly well done, although motivation ended up being a pretty big question mark and there were some undeveloped plot points at the end. Still, Pammie is a great "mother in law from hell" caricature. My problem was Emily...honestly what this girl ever saw in Adam in the first place (beyond the physical) was a real head-scratcher. Why would anyone put up with both a jerk boyfriend and his awful mother? Ultimately I thought Emily was an idiot, and so I didn't feel much sympathy for her. Still, I enjoyed the pace of most of the story and the genuine underhanded unpleasantness of Pammie. Some fun twists and turns.

This book starts off with an ominous prologue. It peaks your interest and doesn't let up until the final page. This is a quick and enthralling read, and it will make you question those you surround yourself with, wary of everyone's actions and motives.
Adam's mother, Pammie, is quite devious and diabolical. She is the epitome of a monster-in-law. It seems as though she and Adam have a very close relationship, and Pammie will stop at nothing to insure it stays that way. But is Pammie simply an overprotective mother? Or is she a sadistic, jealous psychopath? She cleverly inserts herself into Adam and Emily's life, her intrusions increasing in both frequency and intensity, trying to deepen the wedge between them. Pammie's actions are cold and calculated, leading up to a final plot twist that will truly shock you.
I would recommend this book to fans of psychological thrillers and suspense. I received this as a free ARC from St. Martin's Press on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Sandie Jones The Other Woman is quite an interesting psychological thriller debut. Actually, I started The Other Woman as a soft start. You know? A soft start is when you read a chapter or two before committing the time and effort. I knew I wanted to read something uncomplicated, fast paced, and fun due to my last read being a little heavy, but I wasn't prepared to get sucked in as I did.
The Other Woman begins as any other classic girl meets guy tale. Emily and Adam begin seeing each other and are almost instantly captivated with each other. Before long, things get serious (a little soon actually) and it comes time to meet the family. Enter the other woman.
Because I rarely read the book descriptions or blurbs, I requested this read from Netgalley based solely on the title and cover. Having said that, I assumed the other woman was an ex-girlfriend. I was prepared for an ex-girlfriend. Jones didn't prepare me for a doting, loving, conniving, obsessive, and possibly murderous mother. In the interest of not spoiling anything, Pammie is definitely a few of the above but not all... maybe not even the one you suspect based on this being categorized as a mystery thriller.
Plus, we only have Emily's narrative to go on. To everyone but Emily, she's a charmer. And yes, quite a few instances suggest Emily is not far off based with her suspicions of Pammie. Yet, as I continued to read and become more acquainted with Emily, 54% in the book, I realized I didn't too much like Emily.
The brings me to my 3.5 star rating. The Other Woman is a total page-turner that manages to stay out of the Jennifer Lopez/Jane Fonda disaster that was Monster-In-Law. Where that movie succeeded is in giving you at least one of them to root for. You're presented two likable characters who have their own valid reasons for wanting to win. With The Other Woman, I'm not sure I liked Emily, I certainly didn't like Pammie, and Adam was no prize.
Better yet, these crazies deserve each other.
Overall, Sandie Jones definitely delivers an intense read that forces readers to keep turning the page. I don't think there was one moment I felt the need to skim because there was just so much going on. Not so much in the sense it got too busy, but Emily's narrative is almost told as if she's pleading her case about Pammie's odd behavior instead of allowing the story to unravel. Either way, I enjoyed this read. The Other Woman will give pause to any girlfriend who's finally meeting the family.

The Other Woman by Sandie Jones is mostly told in our "heroine's voice". While reading I found myself shaking my head and silently telling Emily what to do and what not to do, and of course she didn't listen! I believe this is Ms Jones first novel and I can't wait to see what's next. I was given an early copy to review.

Loved the writing, the plot not so much. Once I got to the end I could not stop shaking my head-what the heck was this? It was sort of like the train wreck you cannot stop yourself from watching. Very rushed and unbelievable ending with a lot of loose ends. I think the author shows promise for the future. Unfortunately, I don't see the 5 star for this book is warranted.
Thank you to NetGalley for the chance to read and review this book.

Amazing! Must read! The story of Adam and Emily and the interfering mother. The mother that is trying to sabotage their relationship. Emily believes that Pammie is the nightmare mother in law to be, needy and causing all sorts of friction between her and Adam. Adam loves his Mom and doesn’t see it, he believes his Mom just wants them to be happy. The twists and turns that this book make are intriguing and keep your attention but the major plot twist near the end will leave you speechless! Fabulous and perfect summer thriller!

Thank you NetGalley for my ARC of The Other Woman. WOW! This book was SO good. I definitely did not see the ending coming. The storyline was something I would expect to see play out on Lifetime. I would highly recommend this book. You will definitely get sucked in and not want to put it down.
The story starts with Emily falling for a guy named Adam. Adam's mother, Pammie, is obsessed with her son and will do anything to sabotage this new relationship. Who is the crazy one?

I coukd not stop reading until I had read every word. This debut novel had me hooked from page one. You will never guess the ending and if you think you have it figured out, take a deep breathe because you dont.. I loved this book. thanks to Netgalley for the ebook arc. the opinion is solely mine.
