A great read with s classic Mama's boy as the focus. Emily finds her prince charming in this story but quickly learns the wicked witch DOES exist and is not happy with her baby boy's choices. The back story of a lost love who was Mama's choice enhances the here and now. Emily soon learns trying to keep Mama happy is a endless, thankless task. Mama pulls out all the stops when she ruins the wedding but does Adam, aka Prince Charming, see through her deeds as roadblocks to their future happiness? You'll have to read yourself to find out.

This was a hard book to get through. It just didn't pique my interest. I always think about how a book might end from the beginning and at least this one did end much differently then I ever could have predicted. So as a reader if you want a surprise I'd say this is a good suspense novel for you. The second half did become more entertaining. 3 stars!

This book was like domestic suspense junk food. It reminded me on B.A. Paris's book Behind Closed Doors in the best way- girl meets boy, boy seems to be too good to be true. But in The Other Woman, the titular other woman is the boy's mother, Pammie. Pammie was a character who was equal parts wicked and entertaining. She has no intention of letting Adam marry Emily and it was fun to read about the lengths she goes through to get her way. I felt so much second hand embarrassment for Emily while simultaneously ( and quietly) rooting for Pammie. She reminds me of the mother from Liz Nugent's latest, Lying in Wait. Chilling.

Surprisingly, this was a debut! Her writing fits in so well with my other thriller favorites- in this case, she delivered a thoughtful, entertaining, and fresh story that had me devouring the pages. I read this while I was planning my own wedding, and found myself feeling very thankful that my MIL is nothing like Pammie. I'd recommend!

I thought this was too contrived. I was disturbed by the lack of decision making in the main character. Saying that, I was completely surprised when the true story came out.

Wow! This is quite an achievement for a first-time author. I would describe this book as Monster In Law meets Fatal Attraction, but without the gore. Everything that happened to the main character was so deliciously subtle, I was completely thrown off with the marvelous red herrings. By the time I got near the end it dawned on me that this isn't some catty stalker fiction, I felt like I was complicit in the unfolding of an abusive relationship. There were times (many, in fact) throughout the story where I'd do a double take at something Adam said and think, "hang on a moment - that's not right!" but then push on anyway. I wondered where her friends were when things kept getting worse. I wondered why she stayed in the relationship at all. But then I realized that this is how domestic abuse happens, right in front of you with people you think you know well enough.

I'm only giving it 4 stars though because there were a few lingering questions for me that weren't resolved. I wondered why Pamela went to the trouble of doing such awful things instead of just having a proper conversation with Emily. And if she was going to send Adam's brother to talk to Emily, why make it appear like it was a nefarious set up? It was a terrific twist at the end, but one the plot itself did not support. Too bad an editor did not catch this and make a few minor adjustments - then it would have been perfect.

I can't wait to see what Ms Jones comes up with next!

The Other Woman was a great psychological thriller from page 1. A hopeful, smart young woman falls for a successful handsome man. Who would want to get in their way of a happy future? And why? Challenge me and I'll fight harder! Game on! Great book from beginning to end.

If you love books with a twist, this one is for you!

The Other Woman hooked me from the very first page. I had such strong feelings about each and every character. I was totally emotionally involved. The only issue, I thought the book was very predictable. But man! Was I wrong!!!

Emily feels as if she has met Mr Perfect when she meets Adam at a conference in a London bar. They quickly fall in love and Emily is extremely happy till she meets the other woman in Adams line -his mom Pammie. Pammie with subtle and some not so subtle behavior makes it obvious that she would like nothing better than to make Emily disappear from Adams life .. permanently

The Other Woman is a debut thriller by Sandie Jones with an ending I did not see coming . Emily’s character seemed too desperate and helpless for me but Pammie was the one you love to hate. Overall a quick entertaining read with a fast paced plot with a surprise ending and I would definitely look forward to reading more by Sandie Jones

I would like to thank St. Martin’s Press & NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest and fair review.

Emily thinks she's finally met the perfect man when she runs into Adam at a bar. They quickly begin dating and all seems great, until Emily goes to meet Adam's mother, Pammie. Upon meeting Pammie, Emily realizes that the woman not only seemingly despises her, she will do just about anything to keep Emily and Adam apart. As Emily and Adam get closer, Pammie seems more and more determined to break the two up. Even worse, Adam seems oblivious to his beloved mother's schemes. Emily loves Adam, but she is powerless against Pammie's path of destruction.

I was so excited to read this one, as I had heard so many good things about it, but I wound up being really disappointed. This novel just wasn't for me. For a good portion of it, I felt like I was reading a similar-themed (better) book (Michelle Frances' The Girlfriend), and I couldn't shake that feeling of familiarity.

But, the worst part for me was Emily. I just found her to be so incredibly annoying and whiny. Most of the situations that involved her and Pammie seemed contrived and overblown, and I lost my patience over and over while reading these dramatic and ridiculous scenes. If I were Emily, I would have just walked away. It was all so stupid. I could have had so much sympathy for her if she seemed to have a good head on her shoulders, but no. She was wimpy and self-centered and ugh. I would have stopped reading, but everyone had promised such a great twist.

So yeah. Twist?! There were no twists here that surprised me. I guessed the "big surprise" part of the book early on, though I still found a bit of the ending somewhat enjoyable. Still, it was not enough to make up for the rest of the book frustrating me so.

So, overall, irritating main character and no crazy, enjoyable twists--definitely not my favorite. Still, tons and tons of people *loved* this one, so it might be a good fit for you. It just didn't work for me. 2.5 stars.

I loved this book!! Reading this was making want to just slap the mother so hard and tell her to stop! And for the boyfriend to sit there and dismiss everything she said. Ugh!! But then finding out at the end the real reason, blew my mind. Literally! The story was awesome and once I got back to starting the book, I couldn't stop!!! It was an addicting story. Loved the characters and all around story line. You must read this book because you will not put it down. You want to find out will the bullying end. Will she stay and put up with all of it or will she decide to finally call it quits? You will not be disappointed when you read this! I would recommend this book to everyone!

I loved this book! The twists and turns kept me guessing. Through the first half of the book, it read almost like chick lit rather than a psychological thriller, but by the end, I could totally understand why it was classified as a thriller. You cannot guess the twists and you will continue to try throughout. It was a quick and easy read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Would definitely recommend!

I liked this book. The story kept taking turns and kept you guessing. My only suggestion? Don't read this if you're in the middle of planning a wedding yourself. :)

A solid read! I have to admit, most of this book read kind of rom-com-ish to me. The last 25% no doubt the heat was kicked up. I didn't see the twist at the end coming so I always appreciate being surprised!

I was thinking this was just going to be another domestic thriller but the plot twist at the end had me like what??!! In The Other Woman, we met Emily who was at a bar with some co-workers when she meets Adam and the rest is sort of history. They soon become inseparable really fast and in no time Adam wants Emily to meet his mother Pammie.

Pammie is the meanest of mothers I have ever read about. Like all mothers, she tends to think that Emily isn’t good enough for her son and it seems like she will do anything to make Emily go away. Pammie constantly brings up Adam’s ex who unexpectedly died and it seems like she is always trying to not include Emily in family outings. Adam tries to tell Emily she is imagining things and that Pammie really likes her but when Emily and Pammie are alone she knows she isn’t imagining everything. Adam isn’t everything Emily thought he was, in the beginning, he was nice and sweet but after time together she soon finds out that he has a temper and isn’t so sweet after all. She hates that he takes his mother's side on everything and as hard as she tries she can't make him take her side. She is so convinced that Pammie wants her out of Adam’s life that she doesn’t see what’s right in front of her.

I will say that all the characters are flawed in this book but that’s what makes it so good. I found myself not really rooting for anyone because as the story went on you discovered new things about everyone and no one was better than the others. This storyline was definitely like an onion in the sense that as it went on layers upon layers were peeled back and just when you thought you figured something out something else was revealed. I loved that not until the very end did we really see what had really happened and I was pleasantly surprised, to say the least, and it isn’t very often that a book can hide it so well until the very end. This was a somewhat twisted book that really threw me for a loop, just when I thought I had it figured out and hated some characters more than others did the plot twist reveal something even more twisted! You guys this is one read that will have you hooked from the get-go and have you until the very crazy ending.

Sandie Jones I will be reading anything you write! Thoroughly enjoyed THE OTHER WOMAN, one of my favorite reads of 2018.

Emily has finally met the man of her dreams. Adam is all she could ever want in a partner.. Everything is perfect with Adam, Emily has never been happier except for Adam's mother Pammie.

Everyone has had a Pammie in their life, veiled insults, holier than thou, and a mother who doesn't like the woman in her son's life is not exactly shocking but Pammie takes all this to another level.

Adam is unnaturally close to his mother, a problem in itself but Pammie makes it worse by being despicable and working hard to ruin their relationship . Adam is oblivious to his mother's behavior. He believes his mother can do no wrong.

You may or may not be totally blown away by the ending; either way you are going to love it!!!

This is the kind of book it is best to not say to much about, read it, you will not be sorry.

Glad I finally got around to reading this one!

Thankfully, I can’t relate when I hear stories of the crazy in-laws - and this one takes the cake!

This was an interesting story that kept me guessing. Can’t wait to read more from this author!

Man, I really, really enjoyed this book. I was hooked right away and was left guessing where the heck the plpot would go. The ending was a bit weak but it was worth it for the journey.

The synopsis alone made me want to read this book. Sadly the slow build just didn’t do it for me. Some authors can execute and some drag. This was a little dragging. It’s another book where you really love it or really don’t.
